Hey all,
I recently wanted to enable 2FA autofill on Android for incoming SMS. I already enabled it under settings autofill, defined Google as autofill option, but it still didn't work whether within PayPal App, nor any websites in Chrome.
What's the trick to get it working?
Thanks
Is no one using this feature? I loved it under iOS and would like to get it working under Android

Hi all,
I have very annoying problem. Every now and then pop-up appears saying google talk authentication failed. I do not use google talk nor do I wish to. Google talk service is intentionally disabled for my account (i have my own jabber server).
Everything works fine (gmail, market etc) only problem is this annoying popup with notification sound. Could you please help me with getting rid of it? I need to disable it on android side, enabling chat on the account is not an option (other hell breaks loose then)
Thank you very much

Use root explorer. Data* data* com.google.android.talk. Delete this line and reboot. This will clear all data gtalk.
Excuse my silly question but I just configured my email accounts for the first time on SGS3 and noticed a big difference compared to my DHD with GB 2.3.5.
Question 1:
I use 2 IMAP accounts and on my DHD I had options for peak time and off peak time. Here I only had 1 option for sync. For hotmail it gave me all options for peak and off peak.
Also, the smart alert, shouldn't notify me for emails or is it just for missed calls and SMSs?
Question 2:
Samsung service & apps: are they actually necessary if you use google service? I mean, my contacts and calendar are saved on google and synced back every time I restore my phone. Yes, Samsung says that it backs up settings as well but whenever I sync, it's in trouble. So does it work yet or not. It reminds me now of HTCSense which never worked. So is there any additional benefit from this? also, any benefit from the other Samsung apps? (i.e. the Samsung Apps is similar to market but what do we need it if we can still get the same apps from Play Storer?)
Settings --> Motion --? Smart Alert (it says that for "missed calls and messages")
I think you do not have peak on/off in default email app. use another email client from market.
Samsung apps is useful as there are many samsung phone specefic apps on it that are not on play store e.g. photo editor, video editor, task manager widget etc
Thanks!
Hi. The company i work for uses G Apps for our email accounts, and I want to add it on my phone (oneplus 3t) so i can check my work emails and calendar, but I don't want to add Mobile Device Management since I don't want to give them any control over my phone. Is there a way to accomplish this in a rooted phone?

Months ago, Google rolled out assistant integration with Messages. For some reason, I never got this feature. If I switch to a different Google account, the Assistant suggestions toggle suddenly appears in Messages. If I switch back to my personal Google account, it disappears again. This remains true regardless of which device I'm on. I've tried reinstalling messages and I've done a factory reset since then.
All this seems to point to something with my Google account being the issue. Like I never got the server side switch to enable this feature. Does anyone else have this issue or know of a way I might be able to force enable GA in Messages?
Hi folks,
Imagine the current situation:
With the help of Shelter (https://github.com/PeterCxy/Shelter) I created a work profile. I want to use this work profile as a container with less personal data than my main profile.
For this reason I deactivated the "com.google.android.syncadapters.contact" app.
With this setup I was able to add my Google account inside the work profile without having my contacts get downloaded on the device in this profile.
On Android 10 however this doesn't work anymore. The syncadapter is still deactivated (frozen) but the contacts sync nevertheless.
I'm aware of the fact that I can manually disable the sync in the settings of the work profile.
However I need a solution that a) can prevent the sync before adding the account (since the first sync already happened when I add the account and then go to settings) and b) can be done programatically since I'm writing my own app based on this.
So my question is if any of you pros know where the contact sync mechanism (of a google account) is defined since Android 10 and if you see another possibility to disable this again.
Regards,
David
