For some reason I see the brightness changes automatically in certain apps.
The auto brightness is off and set to full.
The brightness dims in the following screens:
1. Open original browser it dims , if entering web address it is back to full. Chrome does not encounter same problem
2. Original samsung mail app (not GMAIL) dims. If writing a new mail (reply/forward) it goes back up.
The brightness in the browser settings is set to full (not auto).
I tried to find an answer on the web but could not find. It drives me crazy!!!
Must say that I have the phone for 3 months and it started only a few days ago.
the only thing I can remember is that I was on WIFI and it started to update apps but how can I know what was changed and [email protected]#$ed my brightness control?
I assume that you're using a stock (or stock-based) ROM. Try to enter settings and deactivate the power saving mode if it's enabled. Then reboot - just to be sure - and look if the issue is gone.
Can't think of anything else at the moment...
Hope it helps
In stock browser disable auto brightness setting.

I can't believe I missed it. I've tried brightness in stock browser, tried battery saving from brightness menu.
I just didn't notice the toggle of battery saving in the main menu.
Thanks...
Hah, nice to hear that youe problem has been solved
Hey guys,
today, I installed Resurrection Remix 5.8.3 on my LG G5 H850 running TWRP 3.1.0-0. I did a clean flash, wiping everything before the installation in TWRP. Everything worked fine at first, but now, for some reason, the phone set itself into night mode. According to the system settings, any form of night mode is deactivated, and i didn't set up an automatic activation schedule either. During the boot animation, the colours appear just fine. Also, i haven't found an option yet to turn off the annoying rumble when the keyboard is used. Has anyone an idea how to solve that problems? Thanks.

So, might not be night mode, it may be the display mode under LiveDisplay settings (change from Auto to day only). Also, I recommend looking over last few pages of the RR thread as I responded to someone else that had a similar issue and of how to fix it including screenshots. As far as keyboard, it should be in the keyboard settings and disable vibrate on touch.

I could indeed disable night mode under LiveDisplay settings (for whatever reason). Thank you!
I have a pocophone on global MIUI 9, and whenever a notification is supposed to pop up while my phone is asleep, it doesn't. It shows up when I turn the screen on instead. The app I'm testing with is IFTTT.
I've already disabled MIUI optimizations, disabled battery optimization for that app, allowed all permissions, allowed autoboot, and turned on all notification options. Still happens.
Any way to fix or do I just have to wait for custom roms to fix Xiaomi's mess of a notification system? Anyone know if MIUI 10 fixes it?
Go to lock screen and password, check wake lock screen for notifications. That should resolve this

It's already on.
I don't mean that the notifications show up but don't wake the screen, I mean that they don't show up at ALL until I wake it myself, like the app is frozen.
Have you put an aggressive battery management setting in place? Or is the battery saver mode on? That might delay syncs
For me turning off non interactive mode in battery settings did the job. Since I disabled it all notifications are popping up as they should.

Sorry for reviving a dead q&a thread. Its actually xiaomi fault. Got 3 of them device and all reacted the same way. No way you can fix it either with custom roms nor kernel. The only way to fix this is to install SOD killer and let it run. Youll get your notification instantly.

Ahhh!!! This had been driving me crazy! Sometimes I'd be alerted to a new SMS; other times the phone wouldn't beep/vibrate, flash the LED or produce a notification.
I've just disabled this setting:
Settings -> Battery & performance -> Scenes -> Non-interactive mode
Non-interactive mode
Don't light up screen for notifications, turn off
LED light, fingerprint sensor, and touch controls
to save battery when MIUI detects you aren't
using your device.

Did it fix the problem for you? It didn't for me.... I have this issue with Gmail notifications and nothing seems to solve it. I'm on MIUI 11 Android 10 from Xiaomi.eu, and the worst thing is that it didn't happen on Android 9... So things went wrong for me after the update.. Any idead, anyone?
i started having the same issue with miui 10 onwards and never with miui 9 or non-miui custom roms.
Has anyone tried the Adaptive Notifications function from Developer Options in Android 10? Does it change anything/fix the MIUI notifications management?

Yes -- it seems to have fixed the problem. I don't use GMail, though.
Actually, I've missed a few alert sounds (far far fewer than before). I'm not sure if it's just that I didn't notice, or if leaving the app open and the screen on (sometimes?) prevents the alert sound...? Probably just me!

I can't see that setting in the MIUI 10 developer options. I've searched around, but I don't think it exists in MIUI...
Good for you man! It seems to have helped a little bit for me as well, especially with messenger notifications, but the Gmail ones are still delayed
I think I can live with it for now.
Adaptive notifications have been introduced in Android 10 so you need that and MIUI 11 apparently.

The ones that didn't catch the 11.0.7.0 update, and that was a lot of users, have a longer change log.
And they still didn't solved Mi Sound Enhancer and Bluetooth peripherals collaboration albeit big part of population have exactly those peripherals!
January ?? It's a joke ?
Why they don't have the security update of february.... ?

If you just look a little bit further than your nose you might understand the reasons for delay.
I was not expecting an update this soon since many has to stay at home in China.
I updated yesterday and for some reason my stock wallpaper (the one with the mountain) used to be dynamic and change throughout the day (sunrise, sunset, night, etc) and now it's fixed on the night time, if I disable dark mode the wallpaper goes back to being daytime. So it's pretty much a static wallpaper instead of a dynamic one, is there a way to re-activate the dynamic one?

Did You look at \Settings > Account & Sync > Xiaomi Cloud > Home screen backup ?!
If not, then "old" and "broken" Home screen is always restored so my advice will be to delete those backups and then try again and see will You have any issue with this!

I'm pretty sure I had no backup because I had to setup everything from scratch again, google did restore apps, contacts and such, but home screen, system settings and such I had to do from scratch.

In Your place I would check this more closely because if I remember correctly this restore behavior is set as"default" for "Home screen" and this item is constantly restored during ROM upgrade or reset.
Just checked, it's disabled. Right now if I disable dark mode the background stays at night time (its almost 8pm so that's normal) i'm going to check tomorrow to see if the problem persists.

Thank you.
Just checked the issue with the wallpaper, if I disable dark mode the wallpaper works just fine and cycles throughout the day as it should, as soon as I enable the dark mode it forces the wallpaper into night mode. Happened with this update, factory reset didn't fix it and I tried to look for an option but couldn't find anything. Extremely annoying but hopefully it gets fixed.

Hmm maybe this is logical and intended behavior?!
If You look more closely if one activate dark mode then whole OS "thinks" that You are actually using Your phone during night time and You have exactly this kind of behavior!
I believe that there lies Your "problem" and in fact You don't have problem at all and this function works like it should i believe!
Hi guys,
I have tries quite many things, but at night, my always on display keeps turning off after few seconds - which I dont want.
What I have:
Xiaomi Mi 10, Android 11, MiUI 12.5.2 - Original, Not Rooted.
What I tried:
Battery Optimization and Ultra Battery Optimization is turned off
Digital Wellbeing should not turn off always on display.
Removed and updated Digital Wellbeing app
Plugged the mobile to electricity overnight
And still always on is turning off.
I am quite "desperate" . Can you help please? Is it turning off for you? What can I try more?
Thank you.
under developer options, all the way down, you can find "Turn on MIUI optimisation" and turn it off. Some other stuff will be less than optimal (I don't know what stuff, but you do get a warning), but you get your permanent always on display.

Isn't there an option in the AoD settings so you can choose permanently on AoD or only on for a few seconds on tap or screen lock.
Edit: yep.

Hi, also tried it, and doesnt work. Here are my settings in AOD:
I guess you're out of luck then. You could try a dedicated app AOD.
Download fresh rom of your choice and flash it ......hope it will work
I am currently using 12.5.7 eu rom with root
Everything working perfectly.
