Dear members,
I have a question regarding BLE scanning. I was playing around with Battery Historian and trying to learn more about the general behavior of my phone.
I noticed that BLE scanning is always on, UNLESS I have Flight Mode turned on.

(EDIT: I am new to the forums and I can't figure out how to include the pictures. I am not sure I am allowed, since directly linking it gives me an message about preventing spam. Anyway, the image is at imgur.com/a/kiE5F2J)
- The first hour is manually turning off wifi, mobile data, bluetooth, location .
- The second hour is Flight Mode turned on.
What does flight mode do differently? I turned off (besides Bluetooth) nearby device scanning and improved accuracy for location in settings, as I believe these are the services that use BLE scanning. Are there more services? I find it sort of disturbing I can't figure out why my phone is still scanning.
Thanks for your replies
EDIT2: Oh, perhaps useful to mention, I have an Galaxy S10 (Exynos version) with the latest software.

Hello,
I've spent some time optimising my phone to increase battery life by
1. Freezing apps I don't need;

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Adjusting image brightness (with help from the power control panel widget)
3. Minimizing the use of widgets.
One thing annoys me though - WiFi. I use WiFi in two places only mostly - work and home but even when I'm connected to those two hotspots the phone stills searches for networks which must eat up the battery at a quick pace.
Is there a way to disable scanning and only connect to pre-configured networks?
On an additional note, despite BluetoothAvrcp and brcmBluetoothServices being frozen, they are still present and active in background. Does anyone know how to disable Bluetooth completely? I have never used bluetooth on any phone.
Edit: This is for a Samsung Galaxy S2.
Just to add - I have the wifi configured NOT to notify for new connections yet I'm sitting here with the wifi settings screen visible and can see it scanning fro new networks every 20 seconds or so.
There must be a way to stop scanning once connected, surely?
I put the phone into flight mode over night and the drain was a bit less than when on. 15% in 8.5 hours, compared to the 25% with it on.
However, as you can see from the screen shots, something is still causing the phone is "wake up". I've turned off everything in the process of trying to find out what it is, but still cannot find out.
Can someone have a look at the shots and see if ye can pick out something.
I must say that the connectivity issue I'm having(keeps giving me a connected to wifi network notification every few mins) could be causing these wakelocks?? I don't know myself.
Anyways, I'd appreciate any thoughts on how to sort out the wakelocks.

s-voice has a wake up feature turned on by default
Continuously connecting to Wi-Fi is the power saving mode.
You can deactivate it by dialing *#0011#, menu, Wi-Fi.
The only way I found to allow the phone to truly sleep was not to have Wi-Fi on at all. Off when screen off also seems to work.

4.5hrs screen time looks pretty good to me. I'm lucky if I get 4hrs
Hey community!
We already discussed the problem about the HOX+ Wifi Problem and SmartSync, which is perfectly messed up HTC Dev...
A nice guide to avoid the HOX+ going into deepsleep at night is written by baha76_s:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089452
My problem:
My HOX+ turns into deepsleep after ~15 minutes.
Not receiving any Internet notifications such as WhatsApp, Email etc. AT ALL. (All day long!)
HOX+ only catches notifications after waking up, or within 15 minutes after standby mode became activated.
I've been using baha76_s's trick, making my HOX+ NOT DISCONNECTING from wifi.
So it's connected.

BUT:
Even if my HOX+ is shown up as connected on my fritz!Box 7390 (See picture), and even if the powermanagment shows that the HOX+ is always connected:
I have 100% package loss by pinging my HOX+. (See picture)
I need help for this.

ROM: ViperX+ 1.0.1
Kernel: EliteKernel
Cheers mates!
Hello everyone,
I have noticed some strange behavior of my s3. I saw that, on battery graph, even when my wifi is turned off for a longer time, it displays as it is on. The other one problem that disturb me is that sometimes, when i read something or play games, back button and menu button lights up, like i touched it. And, ive noticed also, when I turn off and wifi and mobile data, on screen shows up "failure in downloading data" (something like this, ive translated this from my language to english), which (i think)
causes fast battery consumption. Here is the screenshot of battery graph.

where you can see wifi usage and that from full battery to 20% it takes only 5 hours (battery is new one). Should i change the rom, kernel etc, or something else? Any suggestion will be good.
P.S. My s3 is rooted and riding on factory sw 4.3.
Thanks to all, and sorry for opening a new thread, found this as best solution.
Durty flash a 4.3 rom and check if it still is the same.
Wireless->Advanced and check if is checked "scan for free wifi" or similar voice

It's scanning because apps are trying to connect. You will have to remove anything that connect to the Internet or get a firewall
