Purchased 3 Android Tablets from Amazon... need help!

Hi Guys,
I purchased 3 tablets over the last year and they were all supposedly "NATPC X210" tablets from the link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AKYZ6R
The first was sold by: BE Tablets and the "About tablet" looks like: http://i.imgur.com/4zBFegd.png We'll call this Tablet 1 for £88.04 on the 10 February 2014
The second was sold by: Tablet Traders and the "About tablet" looks like: http://i.imgur.com/qmu9wPj.png We'll call this Tablet 2 for £89.99 on the 14 February 2014
The third was sold by: GadetsFair and the "About tablet" looks like: http://i.imgur.com/0UHC4pH.jpg We'll call this Tablet 3 for £62.95 on the 18 June 2014
Tablet 1 and Tablet 2 look identical in terms of physical appearance, tablet 3 looks nearly identical with the exception of it only has 1 MicroUSB port where as the other two tablets have 2 MicroUSB ports.
I've been looking around I've managed to work out that Tablet 3 appears to be a Crypto Novapad S104. Firstly, I could do with some help properly identifying the tablets because they definitely aren't all NATPC X210 tablets.
TABLET 1 and 2 Downsides:
- Both tablets came WITHOUT root (I want root!)
- Both tablets came with different firmwares so there is no consistency between them.
- Both tablets have issues finding certain apps on the Play Store...
- Both tablets have different pre-installed apps
- Both tablets have different appearances (See: http://i.imgur.com/eckPZpJ.jpg)
- Both tablets have different soft-key layouts. (See: http://i.imgur.com/eckPZpJ.jpg)
- Both tablets have an update checker but the update checker fails to work.
- Both tablets show the mobile signal signal strength as no signal (the tablet doesn't have any phone support so it should be disabled. (See: http://i.imgur.com/eckPZpJ.jpg)
- Both tablets have an ugly looking options drop down (top right) (wrong dpi or something) (See: http://i.imgur.com/eckPZpJ.jpg)
TABLET 1 and 2 Ups:
- Has two MicroUSB ports
Tablet 3 Downsides:
- Has one MicroUSB port.
- Has no update checker.
Tablet 3 Ups:
- Comes with root (However, I contacted CryptoTablets and they said that they don't come with root, he might have got it wrong I don't know.)
- Can access all of the apps on the Android store (as far as I can find)
- Has Ethernet support in Settings. (See: http://imgur.com/Bqz4Mdh)
- Has a much more refined UI with the dpi's set correctly.(top right looks much better) (See: http://imgur.com/Bqz4Mdh)
- Has a better softkey layout (See: http://imgur.com/Bqz4Mdh)
- Has a no mobile network signal, disabled because it doesn't support phone networks. (See: http://imgur.com/Bqz4Mdh)
I e-mailed CryptoTablets to try and get the firmware zipfile from them so that I could flash the same ROM that's on Tablet 3 onto Tablet 1 and Tablet 2 but they said "Our tablets are not rooted and any updates are performed in our service center, You need to send the device to us." which is obviously not acceptable for me :/
Secondly I want them all to have the same ROM on them WITH root... does anyone know if there are any custom ROMS out there that could be used?
I could really do with some help with them :/

[Q] Kindle HDX 8.9 4th Gen

One question, I spoke to customer service on Amazon, They stated the 4th Gen kindles HDX 8.9(2.5 snap dragon) and new HD6 and HD7 models have OTG support enabled....
Is this true? And 3rd Gen (2.2 snapdragon) which I have, it is disabled.
All over the net im seeing disabled all the time.
And I haven't seen anyone here speaking about OTG support at all.
They might've misunderstood your question. I'm pretty sure they don't.
Amazon love to force you to use bandwidth and their cloud storage.so they do this on purpose. Along with the no SD slot has been a trend with companies that are affiliated with each other..
I have the hd6 and from what I remember otg is functional. I can confirm this evening.
The hd6 does support otg.

Question Does the USB-C port support Thunderbolt?

Basically 2 questions; which usb-c version (3.2 gen 1 or gen 2) is the usb-c port AND does it support Thunderbolt, if so which version of Thunderbolt?

Type-C (reversible) not Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt is actually a faster usb C so basically any Thunderbolt cables & accessories work with USB 3.2 but with slower speed
Yes but I'm curious which USB version the port has, 3.2 gen 1 (5 Gbps) or gen 2 (10 Gbps)
USB 3.2 is 10 Gbps (Gen 1) or 20 Gbps (Gen 2). It's USB 3.1 that's 5 Gbps / 10 Gbps.

as far as I know it depends on how many lanes it has. To be more precise:
3.2 gen 1 x 1 (5Gbps)
3.2 gen 1 x 2 (10Gbps) (2 x 5 Gbps)
3.2 gen 2 x 1 (10Gbps)
3.2 gen 2 x 2 (20Gbps) (2 x 10 Gbps)
Thunderbolt does use USB-C port since TB3, but it's not the same interface.
since Thunderbolt uses same port design - Thunderbolt device also supports USB features, but USB-C without thunderbolt support cannot use thunderbolt.
but later, USB 4 included features from Thunderbolt 3, so selective, Thunderbolt authenticated USB4 devices are expected to be able to use thunderbolt accessories. it's not mandatory to include Thunderbolt compatiblity in USB4 devices.

Yes - I forgot about the lower-speed variations of USB 3.2. I think those may be USB 3.1 relabeled as 3.2, and Kingston seems to suggest that to be the case. But unsure if it's actually that simple or straightforward.

Exactly. I'm curious what transferspeed S23 Ultra port has, 5, 10 or 20 gbps?

Seeking Advice on a New Build

My existing rig is 13 years old and I've decided to have a new rig built for me. I've come to understand over the last few days that deciding on hardware is a lot more complex than it was 12 years ago and I need some advice but let me start by explaining what I want.
I'm not a gamer and from what I've been told for what I currently do on my PC, an Intel Core I3 would meet my needs. However, based on my experience with my current rig, if you exceed your needs now, the PC you'll build, will last as long as you don't have a hardware failure so I'm wanting my new rig to have a Core I5 instead. Since I want this rig to last I'm going to put a 13th generation Core I5 in it. I'm also planning on it having a Western Digital 1TB SSD in as well. With the above being stated this rig will probably be a once and done build with probably zero chance of it being upgraded down the road.
One question for starter is whether I should go with DDR5 memory or with DDR4? I was speaking to a tech today that said that for what he does, he can't tell the difference in speed between DDR4 and DDR5. Another person I've communicated with said that the price of DDR5 memory is low right now and that since this is a once and done build I might as well go with the faster RAM. With that in mind my local parts house seems to be geared toward DDR4 boards instead of DDR5 boards so if I were to choose DDR4 I would have a wider selection of boards.
Based on the direction of DDR4 vs. DDR5. I'm looking for a board that's not necessarily a high end gamer's board but I don't want a low end board so something in the middle would probably be best. Note that I'm certainly limited to any of the following boards but these are the boards my local parts house stocks. My problem is that I don't have a freaking clue if these are high end, low end or mid-tier boards but most of them are DDR4 boards instead of DDR5 boards. The store obviously likes Gigabyte boards with a couple of ASUS boards thrown in. Since this is a major purchase I'm trying to avoid a major screw up by not picking a decent board so any help and/or advice folks can offer will be appreciated.
