Thanks for telling ! I had been looking for this information for a long time.
Apparently, my service info says "bootloader unlock allowed: yes", I wonder if it means that I actually unlocked it or that the device would accept me to do it.
I moreover wonder how one can manage to install CM or root its device without using Recovery Mode. I saw on your signature you rooted your device. May I ask how you did that ?

It means your bootloader CAN BE unlocked.
To install a ROM, such as CM, you first unlock your bootloader, then move the ROM zip to your device. After that, you flash the included kernel from the zip with fastboot. Then, you boot into the included recovery from the kernel and flash the whole ROM.

I finally found a solution to my problem : I unlocked the device using flashtool-0.9.11's gui procedure, instead of flashtool's fastboot. It succeeded and I can successfully flash anything I want on the device.
I found your rational approach to my problem useful. It helped me isolate a solution. Thanks !

The device will reset and restart.
Hello, I made some huge mistake, I tried to flash with MiFlash a modded rom with TWRP recovery.
The flashing succeeded but now my Redmi 3 vibrates twice, shows the mi logo and turns off. In some weird way (press power button and volume+ and when the logo shows up immediately press volume-) I can reach the fastboot, but it's the only thing I can reach.
If I try to reach the EDL my phone vibrates twice and turns off
Unfortunately the fastboot is still locked (i made the request on miui, but still no answer).
Even when is turned off my Pc detects the phone as Qualcomm HS-USB QLoader 9008
Is there any way I can trick the lock in the fastboot and flash something which will repair at least the EDL so I can go back to stock firmware without disassembling my phone (I already read the guide, but I'm scared of doing it)?
if i remember well you have to power on while pressing both volume + and - so u'll get to black screen that is download mode. then flash a miui rom with miflash. i bricked mine severals time xD
Check if MiFlash recognizes it in that QLoader mode.
Thank you guys, I figured it out by myself last night, vol+ vol- + power opens the download mode. I flashed a china developer rom waiting for miui to unlock the bootloader.
Thanks anyway
Hi,
I got brand new Redmi 3 Pro (3/32 GB) which is great device. I wanted to install MIUI 8 on it so I applied for unlock which passed ok.
Then I download a MIUI 8 ROM (cannot remember which one now) and pasted into my device as a .zip file. I went to 'Update' app and I choosed the file. My phone rebooted and it went into some mode (please note that my knowledge of flashing is very poor) where it was installing the package. It did not show any veryfication screen at any point. The phone was in that state for about an hour when I decided to reboot it - I held the power button for few seconds and my phone switched off. Now I am unable to switch it on.
I tried to boot it in Download Mode but nothing works. I was pressing the power button for long time - nothing happened.
I tried to hold Volume Down + Power Button - nothing
Volume Up + Power Button - nothing
Volume UP + Volume Down + Power Button - nothing
Volume UP + Volume Down - nothing
The sceen remains blank and no light is turining on - not even the light when I charge it.
I was using two different comupters with Windows 8 and Windows 7 but no luck. I installed MiFlash and MiSuite. When I connect the phone to the Windows 8 machine it gives me the sound of connected device and MiFlash shows a device that is connected but it cannot communicate with it. It stucks on "Sending Hello Packet" - the phone does not respond back.
I was following many tutorials but none of them solved my problem.
and many other threads but nothing helped me.
Please give me advice what should I do.
You have to work with edl mode and port v7.1.2.0 rom.

My Zuk 2 plus is running oxygen os and twrp recovery. I rebooted the phone into boot to ffbm mode and now I'm stuck. Tried advanced wipe on the phone from twrp recovery and again flashing the custom rom but again the phone is displaying the same test screen after reboot. I also tried pressing different key combinations like pressing the both volume keys and power key together till the second vibration but nothing works. Tried connecting to add Fastboot but it could not detect the device. Kindly help me with the same.
I tried to enter download mode through recovery mode since I couldn't find the proper key combination for the M31 online. But now it's stuck in a black screen with nothing but the words 'entering fastboot' on top. I can't restart it.
I've enabled developer options and OEM unlock but that's all I did.
Press the power button for a long time (A minute at most)
Thank you!

yo it isnt working pls help me out
Just documenting my (M315FXXU2ATJ9) solution (found through trial and error) in case this happens to somebody.
This is what worked for me:
1. Connect your phone to your PC via USB
2. Hold down VOL_UP + VOL_DN + POWER for 10 seconds
Your M31 will turn off and the charging logo will appear.
You can now simply disconnect the USB cable and turn it on normally.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
I had updated my M315F to official OneUI4.1, but I am having battery issues and the phone is bit laggy, so I decided to revert to OneUI3.1 using Odin tool, however on entering the recovery mode and getting into "Reboot to bootloader", device stucks at "Entering fastboot....", and its unresponsive as download mode doesn't start. The first time I did without unlocking the OEM, but even after unlocking the OEM and entering the bootloader, it says "Entering fastboot...., so again restarting phone and repeating the same process. Download mode doesn't start.
Is there anyway to reboot to download mode?
Thanks in advance
Help is much appreciated
