Redmi Note 5 Bricked - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

I have a redmi note 5 bricked, don't ask me how, but I just went to sleep with it in full working order and woke up with it without turning on the screen and on rebooting was forever on the mi.com logo screen. I can't enter recovery mode, only fastboot mode. When the button presses on and off it restarts and returns to the logo screen.
My bootlood is blocked, I never did anything on the device.

Well, I have the exact same problem. Was hoping someone here could help

Use miflash tool

My bootloader is locked, there's anything else I can do?

Your only chance is to through recovery mode you can't flash fastboot rom with boot loader locked try again enter recovery mode press volume up +power button and wipe cache

Hi, have been there, have done that.
test point method will work, just search YouTube test point redmi 5 plus, also there are tutorials on google step by step. It seems complicated but after opening the back cover all is simple. The flashing should take around 2-3 min, if flashing goes more than 5 min it means you are not in edl mode, just use a small metal tweezers and you should be ok

[Q] Acer A200 IconiaTab Stuck at boot screen...

Ok Here is what I have and have done: :crying: :crying:
All I did was turn it off then screwing around I held the power button and vol+ and hit screen rotate lock switch as it was booting, then it read:
erasing userdata
unrecoverable bootloader error
And thats it. unfortunately adb is not turned on and now the tab will not boot past the secondary booting screen that reads Iconiatab, what is worse since I still have the stock recovery I cant flash anything that I have found. I have tried to flash the Stock A200 rom that is supposed to be stock recovery flashable but it only gets about 1/4th of the progress line before the dead android with the triangle !! sign appears. and of course I dont have the cpuid or sbk, so I cant flash anything in APX mode either.... I am really pulling my hair out here.. and really need some help here it is my nephews tab and he is going to be really upset if I cant fix it.
Any way this is the name of the rom that wont finish installing in the stock recovery flash :
(Stock Rom)Acer_A200_AV032.RV09RC08_AV041.RV04RC02_PA_CUS1_1330081316944_80bf3f7e_decrypted.zip
( I am not allowed to post links yet... But any way the download is at 4shared, and I got the link from the Acer Tablet Forums)
It is Titled Original Stock Rom, and it should have been able to have been flashed through the stock recovery, but di not, and I dont know if it is the rom, or the tablet that is the cause of it not flashing through the stock recovery....
And I have tried a few other update.zips to no avail, but that was the only full rom I found, and certainly the only one with the bootloader blob in it.
Does anyone have any kind of advice for me, or do you know where I could get a rom that will flash through stock recovery?
I dont understand why this happened, the tab was working just fine then I had to reboot it while screwing with the buttons...
So if anyone can help me I would be most grateful, and I can follow most any guide or instruction as long as it can be located.
Thank You
PS - The Tab is 100% stock, no root, no custom recovery, nothing....

The problem was solved by following a YouTube video covering this issue, the video was in spanish, but was rather easy to understand even with the language barrier.
Simply keep doing same boot method over, and over until it works! 12 tries for me then a succesfull boot!
Press the power button and vol+ until the tab vibrates, then flip the screen rotation lock switch.
The screen will read erasing userdata, then the red unrecoverable bootloader error (0x190000008), hold down the power until the tab shuts down.
Continually repeat the proccess, and eventually it will read erasing userdata, and follow with formating cache, then complete. The device will reboot, and it is back tonormal now the stock recovery will finish flashing the ota update.zip so long as you have the right stock rom.
Now you can continue on with your tab however you decide, root, install a custom recovery, and rom, and of course unlocking the bootloader in fastboot mode with oem-unlock
Thank you.
the person who posted before this was correct on pressing the vol up key and power then when vibrates release power but holding vol up switch the screen rotation switch from the right to the left and stay holding the vol up key until it show the android screen leave it be and it will be done once finished loading. You don't have to keep repeating the process one time will work if done correctly. the vol up button is the button to the right when holding in landscape view and the rotation switch should also be in the right most position to start. anyway other than those details it works and it will work the first time. Good luck!

A2017G Boot directly into Bootloader/Fastboot with Vol and Power Button combo

I've found a way to boot directly into bootloader/fastboot mode.
Press simultaniously the Vol+ and the power button until the red light lit up. Then instantly leave the two buttons and press the Vol- button until you see the fastboot menu. You're done!!
This trick to boot into Stock Bootloader/recovery has been known for years and is used on many different Android device
Still, it's great that you participate in this forum !

I see you don't get it. Up to now the only way to get into fastboot was via "adb reboot bootloader". Or from a successfully installed TWRP.
The "for years" known combinations will get you only into Recovery (Power + Vol up), FTM (Power + Vol down), or into EDL respective the useless DFU mode (Power + Vol up + Vol down). In case you've killed your recovery and your bootimg you now have a additional option to come back to a functional system. Especially for the A2017g with the useless DFU mode.

Confirmed NOT WORKING .
It doesn't matter if it's working or not. Thanks for the info anyway.
Neither stock recovery nor fastboot will help if you're stuck in DFU mode for G model. You can't do anything to recover the device in neither mode. All what helps is previously had enabled "allow BL unlock" in developer options. This gives you the possibilty to flash a stock ROM from external SD card. It still needs to be aproved from a bricked "DFU" user!

Would you kindly tell us what is not working? Don't you see the menu? Or don't you know what to do with fastboot?
In case you managed it to get into fastboot the next step would be to get into edl by using this trick. -->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../guide-how-to-reboot-to-edl-fastboot-t3394292
@tron1, all this does not work. I tried cause I had a bricked (DFU) device. I needed to send it in for repair. And gues: they changed the motherboard.
Even the fastboot_edl results in "remote unknown command". Nearly all commands in fastboot for Axon 7 are disabled bei ZTE.
I will try if it's possible to reboot to edl with the fastboot from the unlock procedure from drakenfx.
forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165
ZTE crippled the loader in a bad ass way. But they left the flash command inside. So it should be possible to flash at least a working recovery to the system if you manage it to get into bootloader. As long as my phone is working I won't try it on it. So volunteers!!
Hint -->
fastboot flash <partition> [ <filename> ] write a file to a flash partition
fastboot erase <partition> erase a flash partition
I there a way recover such a bricked device?
I could only boot into bootloader. If i choose boot recovery the phone only shows a red light.
If i choose start its the same red light.
Or should i contact ZTE for a new phone?

I have bricked my Axon 7 several times this weekend, but new Qualcomm chipsets are unbrickable!!!!
1. There is a way to enter directly to EDL on most Qualcomm devices and works also in the Axon 7. Just ensure your phone is off, then press the three buttons at the same time. The red light will blink once, after that blink release the three buttons (you must be very quick releasing the buttons, otherwise the phone will turn on.
2. Plug your phone to your computer. Windows 10 should detect a new USB device QUSB_BULK without any warning message. Then you can use axon7tool to flash the original boot and recovery (stock or tenfar's signed TWRP).
After that, you will be able to enter into recovery, do a factory reset and then you will be able to restore de initial image from an SD formatted as FAT32 (no, exFAT is not supported by stock recovery) in case of stock recovery. Sideload will not work, always stop before finishing the transmission.
Oki, this is fine for you because you have the US version of the Axon the rest of the axon World is f..ed up with an useless so called DFU mode. Happy Birthday for your Axon.

That did the trick. Thanks
Any idea on why when i tried to enter bootloader mode on my Axon 7 (that i received 1 week ago), it stays on ZTE logo and nothing else happens... What is weirder is that there's a red light and my computer detect it when i do "fastboot devices" but i can't unlock the bootloader...
I tried to downgrade on B02 firmware and nothing... i'm beyond going insane right now.... :-/ It's like ZTE blocked on purpose the access to the bootloader mode...

Unable to get into recovery mode ever

I have had the z2 for so long but have never been able to have a custom rom on it as it has been impossible to get into recovery mode. I have flashed twrp with fastboot etc. The device is rooted and bootloader is set to yes in the service menu. I can never seem to get into twrp despite everywhere saying you hold down the power button and volume up key and wait for the led to flash. The led never comes on with this method. It only comes on when you hold volume up and plug the usb in and it goes blue to indicate bootloader mode. Can someone please help as I have been stuck on this rom since 2013. I also have never had the OEM unlock option in developer options either so have never been able to select that when following flash instructions.
Many thanks
Have the same Problem until some days. No chance to open Recovery - even i have flashed Stock Rom with EMMA and/or Flash Tool.
Inatall quick reboot and then you'll be able to reboot into recovery, had same issue.

LG H850 Twrp not installing/booting

Hello,
I wanted to install Twrp on my unlocked LG G5 H850.
So I opened fastboot and installed it with the command. It said it was finished and it worked but when I enter the command to beoot into the recovery it says "FAILED" and also when booting with Volume Down + Power button the normal factory reset recovery comes up. Can someone help me with that? Thanks and Regards
Yomu must pull of battery after twrp flash and then launch phone with fingers on Vol down and power. When LG logo appears - you pull of finger on power for second and hold that again with vol down.

Ok tried that but still coming in factory reset recovery.
Idk why this wont work for me.
Maybe it installs into wrong place.
May be you may try to flash a stock rom first then install twrp?
Are there any official stock rom repositories?

After unlocking bootloader, you can enter fastboot mode. Means if bootloader is locked then you can enter only recovery.
you can go to fastboot mode by pressing Vol Down and Power Button but it needs the bootloader unlocked. so, first unlock that

Yes, after unlocking Bootloader or after applying in Deep Test apk you can enter FastBoot mode. Without unlocking bl there is no way to access fastboot mode. Only recovery is accessible.
By the way he is not new. He is developing ROMs for this device.

Well, Who tf tries to go to fastboot mode without unlocking bootloader in the first place?and I'm not a new member. I'm one of the lead developers of Realme mt6771 development team. You can go ahead and see at github.com/CPH1859 and github.com/RMX1831 . I'm saying the fact, if a person is trying to go to bootloader and he hasn't unlocked it, call him a new member. Its just Common sense. You can't open a door without unlocking it.
