Vote for best Mi 8 Rom - Xiaomi Mi 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

There are many Rom developers for this phone and with great reason; it's a power house and in essence retains the old things we love ex physical fingerprint scanner, with the new updated phones... However from many Roms to choose, trying them all and finding ones you love is time consuming: so what are your thoughts on your favourite Rom and why? SOT? Fluidity? Features?
I'm currently on MIUI.eu because of SOT and mix of fluidity and balance. SOT is a big one for me as my life revolves around my phone for work, workouts, music, etc...
Thoughts?

I am using lineage os 16.
I am enjoying.

Im using Pixel 4 ROM but I like crDroid too, so:
Android 10 - Pixel 4 ROM
Android 9 - crDroid
This until today.

MiuiPro 9.5.9 debloated
7-8 hrs combined, 9-10 on wifi.
No bugs, fast and reliable.

So far i use AOSIP, Havoc and RR.
AOSIP is the best stable rom. And have that nice future to hide the notch. The bad things is that the stock camera libs are bas and shoting whit measinger or viber the picture quality is bad. Using the Gcam evrything is good.

Latest xiaomi.eu, SOT 7-8h

I heard that EvoX Q rocks
But SuperiorOS is also good

Last available is 9.5.something

@MikeChannon Please check the thread

I have moved this thread from the "Development" forum to "Discussion" (nothing is being developed here).
By the way, there isn't a "best" ROM only a ROM that suits you best. So it's better to say what you are using and why you like it rather than implying it's the best ROM for everybody.
We all have different needs from a ROM

Even as a user, EvoX is the one I like the most

I'm about 100 hours off from being bootloader unlocked so I cant test ROMs, but which NON miui roms have the option to turn individual sim cards off?
EDIT 197 hours

So I should not care when I Have about 50k points in antutu? I checked several times.
Nice to see another rom, how is the battery life? And is this rom based on CAF or ASOP?
I will test it. Can you confirm the WiFi speed your able to achieve on this rom
does laser autofocus and fingerprint scanner work ?
Always nice to have another developer

And if you're looking into it: Since 18 days no work done. Also "just" built on Graraks source and I don't even see any difference between this ROM and CM12.1 from Grarak. Proof me I'm wrong:

most AOSP based ROMS wont support the fingerprint scanner. im thinking we wont really have that feature available until we start getting in Marshmallow ROMS in since it natively supports fingerprint scanning capabilities.

You can proof your own wrong by flashing it. It has a lot more to offer then CM. Of course they are using grarak's code, everybody does.
dual sim is working ???

Either you have not used this rom or you have not cared to know the features this rom have. This Rom is definetly based on Grarak's base (Most of the roms are based on cm). This rom have a lot of extras. Try it for yourself or google it.
I am using the latest build AICP v10 22nd November 2015. Pretty sweet.
1. Good battery back up
2. WiFi is buggy as i have not got consistent speeds.
3. LF & FP not working
I am in love with this rom. Best rom after CM by Grarak.
Great ROM...
Very smooth, nice features, amazing animations...
I'm in latest nightly and didn't find an bug till now

Have you tried MIUI? It's almost the same kind of ui as emui. I don't see any point on running that Rom on this device.

Personally, with any device that I've used MIUI on, it was the fastest ROM available and was borderline miraculous.
It can be ported, the only missing thing is someone to port it

That could be awesome. I would love to try, but I don't know how compile/build a rom. ?
Someone on another thread said that they've found a ported MIUI ROM (from the Redmi Note 3) for our device. I mean, we already have someone on Flyme, so I just have to ask: Why not MIUI?

Knowing the history about Miui, being a former supporter for Miui, I say "avoid it at all costs".
Take in consideration:
1 - Stable global releases are far from stable apart from a very few devices
2- Weekly releases are far from stable apart from a very few devices
3- Stable means ALL hardware features enabled and no major bugs like FCs, overheat, battery drain, bootloops, etc. Things we don´t get in Huawei but very much present in Xiaomi.
4- If Miui stable is not stable, imagine a port.

I kinda agree with you
Its already available for Honor 6. But for Honor 5X its not. Since EMUI and MIUI are similar, I don't think we need it.
Instead we can use the stock EMUI itself.
Yea, there are MIUI themes for EMUI as well.

RAM Management problem is not in MIUI. But it's a lookalike of EMUI

Is there any Nougat ROM that can give 5-6 hours of Screen on Time?

Best Rom for performence / battery

Hello I'm searching for really good rom for performence and good battery life also with treble support. I'm switching ROM to ROM like a rabbit and couldn't find any good. Alko can you provide me for good kernel? Many thanks!
Best regards,
skrubxgt
Forget treble, it's nonsense. There are plenty of good roms out there, I'm using Liquid Remix for about 2 months now and it is just awesome. Standby drain over night on wifi (8hours) 2-3 %, SoT 11-12 hours on wifi on a constant use and performance is just superb.

I'm using it since the first release for Vince, I think it was 9.1.2 -currently using 9.1.4 since the day it was released and its just running fine for my needs.

vulkan ia better but I've seen many roms reverting back to opengl recently, not sure of the reason. Could be related to stability as vulkan is new tech.
