Hi,
I'm trying to use my own ringtones but i don't see them in the list.
The ringtones are in the ringtones folder in the internal storage and are in .ogg format.
When I try to add ringtone using the add ringtone function nothing happens and a it creates a duplicate file in the ringtone folder.

I don't know why, but my xperia x10 mini doesn't save ringtones that I set.
I choose some mp3 file, set it as a ringtone and after reboot it changes again to default.
What can I do with that?
I tried to make dirs like /media/ringtones/ and keep mp3 there but it's no use. And it doesn't appear in settings...

Some app created file .nomedia in root directory on memory card. It was realy annoying!
Where are these located on the system? I have a file on the SD card under media/notifications. I also put a .nomedia file in there so it wouldn't show up as a music file, but now it doesn't show up for my ringtones. What can I do? Thanks for the help.

Why not just let it be a music file. Then just long press the file inside the music player (not the new google music app) and select use as ringtone. You might also be able to download a ringtone application and use the folder that it places its files in and use it from there.

I don't want to have my ringtones play when I am listening to my music. I know I can create a playlist, but then everytime I add new music, I have to redo the playlist. It looks like I can convert them all to ogg files and push them to the system/media/ringtones file. Didn't know if there was an easier way.
I pout my ringtones in system/media/audio/ringtones using root explorer. The ringtones do not show up in the under settings/sound/phone ringtone.
Reboot you phone.
Hi, everytime I unmount my sd card, my ringtone changes, because my ringtone is located there, to another ringtone that I want to use, but i don't know where to find it
It isn't any of the system/media folder sounds (alarms, notifications, etc.). At first i thought that it was from handcent sms and when i selected to change notification sound in it, there was this "default reingtone (695)" which is the ringtone I want. But i tried unsinstalling handcent and the ringtone is still there.
If i mount my sd card my ringtone will automatically change back to my current ringtone. Already tried searching with root explorer too.
Please, help me find this ringtone so i can use it.
Confirm your question, do you want to find the file location or want to set your favorite tone?

Just updated to EMUI 10. on my Honor 8X. I cant see the ringtones which I had on my sd card. I could use custom ring tones. I think the directory has changed. I have tried putting the ringtone folder into Sounds fiolder, no joy, I placed my ringtone folder into the music folder. My ring tones do not appear. How do I fix this? Same goes for notifications. Any help and advice with this will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance
Have you tried installing a 3rd party file manager like MiX Explorer or Solid Explorer? With one or more installed when I change a ringtone/notification tone I get a 'Choose an Action' dialogue from which I pick one of these apps then navigate to the ringtone/notification tone. Just a thought.
No, I want to be able to select ringtones straight from the setting menu. Think it's something to do with the directory folder.. Tried a few different folders but it's still the same
