so people thats calling me or im calling them say they hear their own voice echoing? especially today when i had to call my credit card cs they had a really hard time hearing me because of the echoing she said it was hard to talk with it echoing back, now everytime this is mentioned during a call i ask if theyre on speaker and theyre not and im not either lol, and ive messed around with the settings with the noise suppresion, voice clarity and still the same i dont know what to do besides change phones.. someone help me please

About 7 months now and I'm not sure but some people have said they heard it before but never said anything until now lol and nope no Root

What variant do you have and what version firmware are you on? Many issues were fixed on later Oreo builds but some people are still on early Oreo or even Nougat.
Make sure you are on at least latest Oreo. Or even Pie (but there's nothing about pie right now that is superior to Oreo).
If that doesn't help, or you're already on the latest Oreo, then factory reset your phone and set it up again.
That's all I can suggest, as you say you have already experimented with call settings. It's only happening to your phone. I and several friends and family members all have this phone (on stock Oreo) and make phone calls every day -- including using speaker phone -- with no echoing.

Us998, android 8.0. . I wanted to factory reset but not right now got too much stuff to transfer over and travelling during the holidays. But will consider doing that when i get back. I found a video on youtube saying the microphone piece has a rubber piece not installed correctly when there was a screen or back cover replaced so i might look into that too. Thanks

You still didn't answer the question about firmware. I mentioned later Oreo had fixes over Nougat and early Oreo -- and you just replied you were on Oreo.
We need to know WHICH Oreo. There were eight and they all have letters, ranging from 20a to 20h.

The only option left is factory reset, and hope that works.
Do you have any kind of strange case on your phone which would interfere with the mic?
I have the latest us998 20h, my dad today said the echoing went away after a minute when we talked on the phone, i was thinking to clean the mic with compressed air and if that doesnt work ill open the phone and check the mic

I posted a few times over the past couple of months complaining of problems with animated gifs and call quality but now another problem as surfaced.
First of all, animated gifs are STILL broken unless I use Textra. The work around is nice but still not a solution.
Second, call quality STILL sucks. I had hoped a replacement would fix the problem (faulty parts) to no avail. I've tried unselecting "Advanced Calling" as well as "Voice Enhancement" with no success, either. Callers are still complaining that I sound a mile away and sometimes sound garbled.
Third, over the past couple of days I've been getting an "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" error repeatedly. I've tried rebooting with no luck. I googled a solution and everyone says to uninstall Google Play Store's updates - also with no luck.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MY PHONE? I swear it's possessed. Is this an LG problem or Verizon? The people at the Verizon store have no idea what's going on and I got no where when I called Verizon, too.
I'm beyond frustrated. Someone please help!
I have the same problem with voice quality. Same exact thing you speak of; mile away from the phone and garbled. I also got a warranty replacement and same problem. I have even done a factory reset, did not install any apps and still have the same issues. It seems to be interment with no known location that I make or receive a call to be the problem. I am just waiting to maybe get an early edge upgrade and jump ship. I use my phone more for talking than texting in a given day. I had the same problem with call quality on the G2, this will be my last LG phone.
I've tried a factory reset, too. I wonder if I ***** enough if they'll let me get a different phone.

I was totally serious, worked 13 hours yesterday and have had two days of screwed up sleep. Felt great earlier after my boss suggested I sleep in and work from home today, woke up at 11, felt great for four hours and then it started hitting me again. Why am I still on my tablet!? Goodnight! ☺

Believe I found a fix after a search. Go into "google now" and click "settings" click on "hot word detection" and make sure "from any screen" is off. I have not had an issue for two days now!

Update:
I got the lollipop update this past weekend and over-all my phone is running much smoother. I'm no longer having sound issues while on the phone, nor am I getting google play service errors anymore.
However, I am STILL unable to receive animated gifs. WTF!!!
I'm still here and still having gif issues and call issues if anyone has a suggestion.
I've tried disabling "OK Google" from any screen but that hasn't helped. Friends are still complaining about my call quality to the point where they're now harassing me for not getting an iPhone!
I'm still receiving broken gifs in anything other than Textra.

I gave up on LG a while ago due to the call quality problems I was having. Same complaints as others, people say I sounded under water, far away etc. The net is full of complaints. See the archives. My company gave me an iPhone all unlimited so I'm using that. It works fine but I do prefer Android devices. I know one thing, I will NEVER purchase another LG phone again. And I will never purchase any phone through a 3rd party like Best Buy because it just adds another layer of complication when it comes time to get things fixed.

Is there any way to create keyboard shortcuts? Like I type in [email protected] and it would automatically change that to my email address? I can see how to add words to the dictionary, but not to make shortcuts.

The CamPlus Module is specifically meant to be used with the Camera App on the phone. There is a switch on the module that allows quick access to the Camera app. There's a Shutter Button, as well as button for taking videos.
You can charge the phone with the Module installed. The module has it's own battery and I've discovered that the module may charge the phone momentarily. With the Cam Plus Module installed on my G5, with a solid LTE Signal, I can get close to 15 hours of use in a day.

1) Nope, i'm using Chrome dev and is smooth
2) Yes, lg's stock recovery only performs the hard reset, and it's the same on the other LG devices.
3) No problem with the fingerprint scanner, maybe a faulty device? Try to unlock the screen 4-5 times with the fingerprint and check if it works correctly

If it's so rare then there is no reason to worry about, it could just be a "stability" problem of the "young" software, or it's just you that put your finger in a wrong way, maybe Try to re-add the fingerprint or to add another one and See if things are different

The touch? You mean that if sometimes if you put your finger in the sensor the phone doesn't viber (which means wrong fingerprint) and no led appears? Well, that is sue strange, never happened to me, but still if it's so rare probably there is no need to worry about, if the problem get worse then it could be an hardware issue

Has any experienced mediocre Wi-Fi speeds? On my AT&T G5 I'm getting 18Mbps down and 6Mbps up compared to 48Mbps down and 6Mbps up on my Nexus 6 on a speed test at home. At work I get 110 down and 80 up on my G5, my Nexus 6 will get 240 down and 105 up. It's basically half of what my Nexus 6 will get on average. Anyone know what I need to do? Some weird setting I need to change?
A couple of weeks ago my proximity sensor stopped working. I would make/receive a call, the screen would stay on, and my ear would perform all sorts of functions: opening apps, setting alarms, minimizing brightness, etc. I downloaded a number of "sensor-checking" apps the other day, and reportedly the following sensors are "not supported by this device": proximity sensor, light sensor, orientation sensor, temperature sensor, gyroscope sensor.
I did a clean install of cm 13, but the problem persists. Any thoughts? What can I do to potentially identify the issue?

A few months back this was an issue on AOKP(cm based). I don't remember what file is messed up, but basically your sensors are incommunicado. Flashing a stock based ROM(no need to KDZ or TOT, just grab a stock based zip and flash it) should reset the sensors for you. After that reflash cm13 and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a shot today and report back. Hopefully this helps anyone else with the same issue.
Just wanted to give an update.
I tried 2 things.
1. I did what was proposed, flashed a Stock ROM, then re-flash CM13 - Sensors continue to be unrecognized;
2. When that didn't work, I flashed the Stock ROM again and tested the sensors with the same testing app - same problem.
I am guessing I somehow managed to royally screw up my phone? (Yay?)
In that case, I strongly suggest flashing the 10B TOT using the CSE option after moving anything you want to keep from the internal storage since it'll be wiped. TOTs flash more partitions than KDZs and can fix problems that flashing KDZs or ROMs can't. I've witnessed this myself.
Afterwards, re-root with the Stump app and use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to install TWRP, then flash the ROM you want and appropriate Bootstack for it.

Sssss-wing, and a miss.
After going through the TOT restore to 10B, I set up the phone and rotated the phone to the horizontal position - screen would not rotate. I downloaded the "Sensor Box" app from the play store, and received the same errors for sensors as before.
I'm starting to think I'm S.O.L. (paddle optional).
Screen has been peeling away from the phone's casing for quite some time anway, might be time to explore my options and buy a new phone.

That's sucks bro. If you TOT'd back, had a totally clean flash(no user apps) & things are still dead - then it does sound like a hardware issue. Sorry to hear that
If you're thinking of buying a new phone anyway it might not hurt to take off the back cover & check ribbon cable connections & look for anything out of the ordinary. But that's up to you...some ppl aren't comfortable doing that & I totally understand and respect that. (Ifixit had some decent disassembly instructions if you do go that route.)
I've been looking at phones myself, but nothing has captured my eye yet. I need removable battery and expandable storage, not some super thin bendable shiny thing without those options

I will consider using the unlocked HTC 10 on Verizon in six months when my contract is up and the prices are hopefully more reasonable, but we'll see, still too early to tell.
I don't like that there's only 23 out of 32 GB available on the internal storage but at least it does have a Micro SD card slot.
Personally, more of an amoled guy. Took a chance on LCD with this. I like the 10 though. If it were amoled I'd be all over it.

I bought a STF-L09 a couple of days ago. I updated it to B130 straight away as there was an update available. But I have noticed I have a weird scrolling delay on my phone. I need to swipe about 5mm before the content starts moving. Everywhere, no matter how slow or fast I swipe. To taps it reacts instantly so it's not just the digitizer that lags or something. When I try other Honor 9's in stores they all scroll instantly like I expect a phone to do. Though they are all on earlier firmware (B100) and mine is on B130 so I can't tell if it's an update that has done this or not. I need to know before sending it in for service if it's some kind of weird hardware fault.

I experience the same behavior since day 1, also after updating to B130. I'm coming from a Nexus 5 and I love the Honor 9, but the scrolling experience was definitely better on the Nexus 5. I'd say it has nothing to do with the update nor with your device, it seems it behaves like this when scrolling.
B130 is causing different issues.
Honor needs to update the honor 9 ASAP
Thanks for confirmation now I know it's just not my phone that has some hardware fault. Yes, they need to fix this in an update. It makes the phone feel way less responsive than it really it.
It is a software issue, it used to be good when it was on b100
There isn't a way to roll back to B100, right?

Well that sucks we really need one. Otherwise hope they will pump out an update soon that corrects this. It makes the phone feel so slow.

I believe this is not a hardware problem. Because of two reasons:
1. I have the same problem with scrolling delay. Because of this I sent my Honor 9 for service. According to what they did with the phone, they calibrated the "touch function" with Huawei diagnostic tool. Still when I got it back the problem is still there.
2. Under development tools try to active "Pointer Location". Then try slowly to scroll screen. You will see the screen is registering your touch very good. Ie you will see a line before scrolling begins.
I had this problem since b130. Now I run b150. Unfortunately I don't remember if problem was there in b100.
I hope this will be fixed soon with firmware update.
A few hours after yesterday's upgrade, my mostly new (6 months) S21+ started having display/screen issues.
I have googled this but found nothing similar. There appears to be a repetitive shape (puzzle like) on the phone that makes things super hard to read, and there is something like green, black and purple bleeding. Photos attached.
Has anyone seen anything like this?
I have filed a repair service ticket since the phone is still under warranty, but since I am abroad it will be a pain to get it fixed.
My next step before mailing the phone to the US for repair, is to do a factory reset as recommended by tech support.
But I am just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and if it can be repaired easily.

What does it look like with ScreenTest?
Looks like hardware. Could be the download/install got corrupted; I really don't like OTA updates.
Factory reset. If it's still doing it it's likely hardware. A lot of Samsung display failures in the last year it seems. It will at the very least need to be reflashed.
Make sure to backup all critical data...

So I ran the screen test, red, green and blue and black and everything looks good... this is so weird?
Then I powered off the phone and back on and the green purple bleeding is much less. The text is now mostly readable. The weird puzzle shape is still there.
I guess the next step should be the factory reset?

After seeing the phone dialing screen I don't think the ScreenTest will be any better. It may give you more insight though.
Now you see why I almost never update. The current Android 9 load on this phone will be 2yo in June, still fast and stable with minimal maintenance.
Android 9 and up are reasonably secure. I wouldn't update unless the current version isn't fulfilling its mission. The Fold variants probably have the most to gain from firmware upgrades.

Not display hardware it seems... interesting.
Try clearing the system cache.
Try in safe mod.
There have been reports of older apps glitching Android 12 up. Try using the factory theme if you aren't; older Galaxy themes may not be compatible with the newer OS.

After the factory reset you will still be running on the version you just updated to. Only the user data partition gets set back to its default values.
Bear in mind what I said about safe mode (3rd party apps) and the Galaxy theme that's running.
Maybe icon packs too... what a mess.
These are known issues. May not be anything wrong with the firmware. Android is putting developers through hell trying to be compatible with 12.
You should do a factory reset but then be careful what you load. Keep an eye on it. Uninstall any app that's not compatible as you load them.
Do system app updates one at a time, they could be a culprit.
Clear the system cache again after reloading everything.
Sorry I keep editing these posts. Really all I do to sort out most problems is to play with it.
That sometimes means multiple factory resets if you can't ID the problem. Put some thought into what your doing to try to avoid that and hopefully identify the source of any issues after the reset.
FRP... wipe your Google account from the phone before you reset and do the hard reset from settings vs the boot menu. I do the same with the Samsung account as well. Getting locked out isn't pretty or simple to fix.
If you don't like the upgrade it may be possible to roll it back (reflash) if the boot loader version hasn't been upgraded too.
Good news... before proceeding with the factory reset (it scares me to do it) I removed some apps: instagram, facebook, wodify and regram. Other apps had not been updated since the last Android update, so I started updating them one by one: messenger, google maps, google photos, instagram.
Now the phone is 90% better!!

What's still wrong?
the repetitive shapes are still there but more faint... but now I can now red and view everything. A little bit of purple and green but barely noticeable.
Try using a fixed frequency like 60hz for the display. See if/how that effects it.
Does brightness level effect it? Full brightness?
Is it doing that in safe mode now?

I am not on safe mode, but I tried it and it looks the same.
Brightness does affect it... it looks a bit better. Actually it seems like brightness has diminished. Before I barely had the brightness set to like 10%... now that is too dark and the weird shapes show more. If I increase the brightness it looks better

See if there's any system app updates on Playstore for it.
If you're in the US you can take it to a Samsung Experience center at a participating Best Buys store. They can run more advanced diagnostics on it or may know just by seeing it.
It's being quit the horror...

You're welcome. Sorry to see you're having so much trouble with it.
Play with the new firmware and see if you like it.
If you like the previous version better the Experience Center may be able to flash it back to that version.
