I have the same problem, it works, but not everywhere. I can make purchases in stores using GPay, but at the same time, when I try to pay for my subway using GPay, NFC does not respond at all.
This is annoying ...

Works fine on mine. Try doing a software repair maybe?

Just bought this phone

I bought this phone on ebay a while back and i'm just wondering can anybody give me some information about the phone e.g. Best GPS program , best audio player etc .
This is my first time having a Windows Mobile phone and also my first time even having a smart phone ..
As mobile browser I got Opera mini, works great. Think you can get it from m.opera.com.
For movies use CorePlayer. Best mediaplayer IMO.
I got NoData for when I'm traveling, and don't wanna end up with a huge bill.
SMSBubbles is a tiny bit buggy but it works. It allows a popup with the incomming text to appear on your screen, so you can read what the text says without having to navigate.
McGuider: great navigation; make sure you get the smartphone version
If you intend to use your own headphones to listen to music; use this here. There's a coupon; SH5OFF which will give you 5% off everything. Free shipping worldwide.
For the software I suggest you use the search button to get the most recent versions.
Good luck
thanks great reply !
I checked out McGuider earlier but didnt see this phone in the list of compatible devices ?
you just try to go to ---> http://www.freewareppc.com/download/utilities/cabinstl.shtml there you can find many free applications that are compatible for your device
Can anyone tell me does Google Maps have a sat nav feature or is it just like basic maps?
I think it is just basic maps...to be honest im too lazy to check it now...
Btw try sygic mobile 10...best navigation software for this phone imo...also includes camera alert

[Q] Faking Galaxy Nexus through Build.prop mod

Is it possible to edit the build.prop so that the market believes our device to be a Galaxy Nexus instead of the GS2?
I'm asking because I can't find any way to get Google Wallet to work on my device, and I'd really like to get it working. NFC is functioning fine on my Korean SGS2 but I can't really use it if Wallet isn't working...
Any help is much appreciated!
Do a search theres a mod in xda that got it working...

No dice, the first thread installed but it FCs right away and I can't get it run after that. I'm thinking this has to do with the device being the wrong name (nexus instead of gs2). I know they have a ton in common so I doubt there's a whole lot that I'd have to change to get this to work... any ideas how to take that APK and modify it to work, or maybe a build.prop mod that lies to the app?

[Q] GS3 and NFC ReTag

Hi,
I´m still waiting for my GS3 .... (Yes, the blue one ) ...
Does anyone here has already tested the GS3 with NFC ReTag ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.widgapp.NFC_ReTAG_FREE
According to my dev console, there should be already some GS3 users with NFC ReTag out there, and till today no bugs were reported, but I would like to double check it and receive some early feedback from the first GS3 users ;-)
No one with a NFC tag and 5 min time?
I'm not sure what you mean by ReTag but I've tested NFC with some tags I bought. Works great.
sent from my Galaxy S III

Maybe he means the program he links to in his post?
Unfortunally I dont have any tags to test with.
Hey ascsa, I have been using your app for a few days now and it seems to be working well. I used an old oyster card and tagged it to a tasker task. It works 90% of the time, the other 10% I have to scan the card once or twice more before it activates the task.
Great app btw
Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting ... should work 100 % ;-) ... Could you describe the 10 % failures a little bit more in detail ?
- scan problem? (-> different sound when recognize a tag)
- nfc retag problem ? (-> e.g. app does not start... no pop-up etc..)
- Tasker problem? (-> e.g. everything seems fine ....but Tasker does not launch the task ..)
THANKS !
Using ReTag Pro version few days, no problem found. Only one disadvantage is license check when you want edit tags properties, settings or so - if you have limited or slow connection, lasts very long time (disable net when it happens). But license is not checked in auto-mode, so i can live with it.
One hint - for turning bluetooth use "ON SILENT" parameter, otherwise you must manually allow it every time.
I'm using it since a few days and it works perfectly fine! I wouldn't want to miss it...
But is there any possibility out there to get NFC working again with a locked screen on a rooted phone? I really miss that on.

As far as I know (and without having a detailed analysis done) i would say NO ... you would have to hack the rom ... but I will have a look at this, if I find some sparetime .... ;-)

Yeah , added the "silent" parameter to bypass the bluetooth user dialog some time ago ;-) .. ..
The license check is done via the google playstore .... should only take some milliseconds with a good internet connection ... on a limited connection it could take a little bit longer .... but it´s done once and then cached on your device for some time .... and yes, automode is not affected ;-) ... I think that´s the best and most userfriendly solution to handle the license checking ... anyway, i recognized that sometimes the google servers are a little bit slow ....

thx man for your answer... as it would be quite important to me, hacking the rom would be fine, however, as a noob as i am (well, studying law doesnt help you anywhere in real life ) i don't really know where to start... so my help would be limited to testing
still, the entire NFC-thing does only make sense to me if everything goes fast, which is not the case as long as you have to input your code before using it.
well, let's hope someone can find a solution
and by the way.... still no problems using NFC Retag on the S3
working fine here, using work door pass to turn silent mode on and off via tasker
Update 1.6 is released ;-) ... no problems so far ;-)
Car mode (BETA function) has a strange behavior on the galaxy s3 ---> In case of issues, turn on the "do not show" option or try the alternative car mode option via settings ...
BTW: Am I the only one, who does not understand why samsung implemented this poor car mode ? from my point pf view, the GS 2 car mode is much better .....

I get a license check every 1-2 days. Could you move this check into a background thread and allow for 2-3 failed checks (which could be more frequent than 1-2 days) before you limit the app? This frequent check is rather annoying, especially since you can't skip it.

As mentioned, automode is not affected.... So you can tap a tag and perform the activities without any license check for month if you don't want to change your activities ... I think it's a fair solution ;-) ... The license check for the other functions is done and cached via playstore... It's pretty much a standard licensing policy... And should only take some milliseconds...
Which play store version do you use?

Play Store 3.5.19

I guess that will change once I find a good setup for me

ok, latest play store version ;-)
Anyway, I keep your request in mind ... I´m working on a new UI and some major improvments ... perhaps I can tweak the license check, too.
Thanks. Developers like you that actually listen to their users make me glad that I bought your app. Keep up the great work

NFC ReTag and Samsungs touchwiz Jelly Bean
Hi,
anybody with the official Samsung JB update out there, who could test the NFC ReTag app?
JB isn´t a problem, but samsung likes to "improve" the android standard with touchwiz and has brocken some apis before ... and I think I have to wait a couple of days (weeks??) till i can get the official JB update within my country .... so an early double check makes sense to me...
! feedback highly welcome !

Android 5+ Wifi Repeater / fqrouter2 alternative

Hi all,
I've been looking for quite some time now for a way to turn my phone into a Wifi repeater.
About a year ago I read somewhere about a chinese app called "fqrouter2", which is mainly
used as a vpn tunnel but also has a feature for rooted phones to host a hotspot while being
connected to another wifi network.
The last version of fqrouter2 was released more than a year ago and only supported up to
Android 2.3. While I found quite a few people saying on the Internet that it is possible
on a rooted phone to use the wifi modules for sending AND recieving at the same time,
I was not able to find any alternative app so far.
I have pretty much no programming skills, so I have no idea how hard it is to write such an app,
but I can't believe that I am the only person who wants such a feature for their phone, so maybe
there is something/someone out there which/who could help me?
Regards
Made an account just now to reply, plus xda is awesome.
I hope someone can figure this out, I to need this android 5.0
Bump.
No alternative?! Is this really the only App that can be used as a WiFi-Extender?!
bump.
did my monthly research, still couldnt find any new app/solution to turn my phone into a wifi repeater
Would be great to find an alternative in case this app ceased to update.

At the start i am getting an error,"XX-net exit unexpectedly"
And finally what is the name of your phone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in future.
