Advice please, accidentally installed Lineage OS as a Magisk module... - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, only me again...
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
SM-N910F
Lineage OS 16.0
Snapdragon
As per the title, just installed lineage 16.0, poking around on the Magisk manager app, tapped the plus symbol under the module tab and somehow managed to touch the lineage .zip file (actually I did it on purpose just to test but I thought it would ask me to confirm!) and without warning, boom! it just installed it as a module (I think?) the log came up and it ran through the installation anyway. I rebooted the device and it seems to have made absolutely no difference, but my particular nature is making me want to find wherever it's been installed and remove it (to avoid problems it may cause in the future) but it's not showing up in the Magisk manager app.
Some advice would be much appreciated...

Solutions for installing LineageOs and features?

recently highway_star ported lineage os to our beloved mi pad. but i am geting lot of questions on installing and some people are facing problems in installing.
so, Guys this thread is just for knowing the problems in installing the LineaeOs on mi pad and providing solutions to them. also if there are any bugs you are facing after installing post them here so, that if any one have a solution they can give and it may help in development of stable rom.
so guys lets ask.
I have installed gapps after merging two partions, rcently another update came for LOs 13 i have dirty flashed it after that my google play services are stoped to work, i also tried to install gapps again but it didnt slove the problem,so if any one facing the same problem and having any suitable solution post here it may help others.
So the thing what i did was that i did a full wipe of the entire Tab Internal + SD card (Everything basically) and then instead of using TWRP 3.0.1 (The latest version) i downgraded to the older version the 2.8.4 and then again i installed the 1.2GB Repartition Zip, Once that was completed i copied down linage os ROM to the SD card and also a copy of GAPPS Pico edition (ARM) as well and then installed it the normal way and it successfully got installed without any issues
hi @Hatsune_Rox i am having this wierd issue , if am trying to add another account in google the google play services is force closing. can you check weather this problem is occuring to you.

Some issues since flashing Lineageos 16

A couple of days ago I flashed Lineageos 16 onto my Pocophone F1 with the opengapps package (MTG was giving problems).
Now the main issue I have is that my banking apps, Netflix and 1 or 2 other apps won't work because it says the device is rooted. This is actually incorrect , just the bootloader is unlocked. But I realise this is the new security system of Android.
However, here are the problems that I found while investigating for a solution to the root problem:
1. Trust security system says, "This build was signed with public keys". How to I get a build with a private key? I have never compiled my own build.
2. TWRP 3.2.3 is installed, but the pin/pattern/no password etc does not allow twrp to decrypt the phone. I can use the "cancel" option to get to the menu but then twrp has limitations, see point 3.
3. I am trying to install Magisk on the phone to see if that is a solution for the non-working apps. But after I have transferred the zip file onto /sdcard I cannot see it it when I am in recovery. I guess because of the decrypt issue in point 2.
I have tried to Google for solutions to these issues, but no answers see to be clear as to what the solution is.
So can somebody advise what my best course of action is to get the apps complaining about root to work? Back to the stock android with all the bloatware?
Thanks a million in advance to the person who can help with this.

Some Questions: Updating my Oreo Galaxy S9 [Modded]

Hey Guys,
so i have some questions i need answers for before i just go in and try to update my modded S9 to Android 9
My Setup:
Galaxy S9 SM-G960F Exynos
Messed up my ROM once and had no backup so i installed a stock one from SamMobile or something.
Edit: forgot to mention that i'm from germany. i think there are some region specific FWs so keep that in mind.. im not sure which specific ROM i installed but it should be a stock rom with correct region and model number.
TWRP installed.
Magisk v17.3 with Manager v6.1.0 installed with following modules{
Systemless Hosts,
YouTube Vanced v13.34.50(b01.25.00)
}.
I have bxActions installed and mapped my bx button to 4 actions{
NavBar->Back,
NavBar->TaskManager,
NavBar->Home,
Google Assistant
}.
i modified my build.prop so my NavBar isnt visible for more screen real estate (thats why my bx button has these mappings).
I applied some black and red theme for GBoard and overall system Theme (status bar and whatever... settings menu and stuff).
Im also using AdAway (thats why i have the Systemless Hosts module installed in magisk).
SafetyNet is no Problem. i can use all apps i heard i could have problems with when magisk not properly installed{
Pokemon GO,
Snapchat,
Google Pay (although it doesnt work correct recently... might be a problem with my PayPal tho),
Banking App etc..
}.
I also started app dev with flutter with it via USB-Debugging if thats somehow important to know.
My Questions:
Since im not able to Update via OTA.. how can i update to android 9 safely without messing up my setup?
What does work after the Update and what doesnt? TWRP ****ed up? build.pro mod gone? magisk?
Is it even worth it to update?
oh and while we are at it: since knox is tripped some features like secure folder etc dont work. any alternatives for something like a password secured folder or similar?
Thanks for your help

full de-google, whatever rom + microg

Hi all,
i would like to move to a full de-google system.
I tested the UNOFFICIAL lineageOS GSI for this phone, it works quite well, but trying to install MinMicroG or NanoDroid just after from TWRP, i get an error 1, with a message that no more free space available. Not clear what's happening, and not sure is if the right way to install microG over this rom.
Every help is appreciated.

Phillips Sonicare for Kids Root Check bypass wtf

Backstory: So got my daughter a bluetooth enabled toothbrush named in title, and loaded up the app for it:
Philips Sonicare For Kids - Apps on Google Play
Transform brush time into fun time!
play.google.com
Running on a OnePlus 6, Android 10 stock firmware other than bootloader unlocked, Magisk installed. Start it up, whines it is rooted and refuses to run. Sputter some colorful language, add app to Magisk Hide, restart, poof, works great.
Now daughter likes it, and don't want to give her my phone twice a day... so open the drawer and pull out an older phone, LG G6. Old firmware, prob full of security issues, figure I'll install LineageOS on it. OK, great, get through all that, shiny running system... repeat app install... and ugh... "t3h r00t3d phone!".
This time, Magisk Hide isn't "fixing" the problem, and I am curious what the difference is... same app version on both phones. Safetynet check passes on both phones. The only real differences I can cite are (1) Android 11 OS base and (2) Roar Gapps MiniMe build (vs full Gapp suite on stock OnePlus rom). At this point, there aren't other apps on the device (e.g. SuperSU or similar usual suspect).
Any suggestions on what is different that an app could check and call out a rooted phone?
Answering my own post, in case anyone searches this and finds it helpful...
Turns out this app appears to blacklist Lineage OS.
Reflashed clean, OS only... fail. (No root or safetynet at this point)
Added somewhat normal Gapps, now with working safetynet... fail.
Didn't need to install Magisk at this point.
Lets test the theory... grab another OS image at random, flash it (still no Gapps, Magisk, SN)... success!
Install Magisk, still success!
