Touchpad problems when not charging - Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have a very strange problem, which has been happening to me since I installed the miui 11 ROM of this forum.
I have an area of the touch screen that does not work for me when I remove the charging cable, while charging the touch works perfectly. When I remove the cable from the network, but leave it plugged in, the same area of the screen goes away.
I have tried with several ROMs but with all the same thing happens to me, I have tried with MIUI, Lineage 11, Pixel ... etc. and with all rom the same thing happens to me.
Has anyone something similar ever happened?
I hope anyone can help me because I have been trying for two weeks with several ROMs and I continue with the same problem.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Phone not charging

Not quite sure what has happened to my One X+ so I'm hoping someone over here can help me.
I plugged in the charger today and for some reason my phone wasn't recognizing it at all, and carried on discharging.
I have been using the latest stable CM 10.2 (cm-10.2.0-enrc2b) for the past few days and everything has been working fine.
I tried several things to try and fix the issue, including a hard reset, a factory reset of the software and also flashing the latest CM 10.2 nightly (cm-10.2-20131209-NIGHTLY-enrc2b).
I have also tried a few different cables, and also charging from AC and my laptop.
Nothing so far has worked, so right now the phone is powered down but only has around 16% battery left.
Any other suggestions on what I could do to try and fix the issue?
I'm no longer under warranty so wanted to explore any other options before getting the hardware checked out.

I've been having similar issues with my HOX+, though mine usually knows when the charger is attached. Try turning it off and letting it charge overnight. I kept doing that till it eventually fully charged last time and started holding charge again.
A very similar thing happened with my wife's HOX+ , Kept it on charge overnight, turning off the phone .It works just fine now.. So what were you doing before the phone stopped charging ? And did it start charging back.

Phone doesn't charge - Charging LED stays on when unplugged

Is anyone else experiencing this on LP roms?
I'm currently on 5.1.1 and if I unplug from the charger, the LED stays on and the battery percentage icon continues spinning as if it is charging.
When this happens, the battery drains abnormally quickly unless I reboot to get rid of it.
It also stops it from charging if I plug it back on the charger.
Extremely annoying, I might try reverting to an older 5.0 ROM and see if it still has the problem, maybe it's my device and not the ROM but would love to know if anyone else has come across this problem...?
obviously you're on a custom rom since the Z2 doesn't have 5.1.1 yet, so which one ?
I've recently tried multiple 5.1 roms, but never had this issue, but maybe it came up in newer builds, not sure.
You could try using other 5.1.1 rom to see if you still have the same issue. If it doesn't then you can inform the developer of your rom
thanks people's
Yes, a custom rom, I tried several other new roms and they are all exhibiting this problem for me.
I also tried reverting to a previous backup of a different 5.0.1 ROM and the problem still exists, and I'm sure the problem wasn't in that ROM when I originally used it so maybe it's coming from somewhere else.
I might try reverting to a stock rom and see what happens

Repair with PC companion or flashtool with stock ftf
I have this LED problem even on my stock phone 4.4.4 and 5.0.2. haven't noticed battery drain
I think i have narrowed it down to a bad usb cable(s) not supplying enough power to charge the phone. I have replicated this many times
I don't think it's the cable, I've tried multiples and it will charge fine using the magnetic adapter, I can also access the device files without a problem (MTP/ADB).
I've flashed the latest stock ftf (specifically D6503_23.1.A.0.726_UK+Generic.ftf) and it now shows the newer charging screen when the phone is off and plugged in, but it still has the same problem. Even when powered off it doesn't charge properly, the percentage just goes down even though the LED is on and the screen says charging. If I unplug the usb cable the light stays on and it still indicates as charging and drains abnormally.
Thought I should also mention, no matter what ROM I use (stock/custom) the auto-rotate behaves weirdly and the screen will auto rotate even when the setting is off.
Edit:
If anyone else if having this problem, it is most likely due to the magnetic charger damaging the board:

Phone is charging slowly

Hello all,
Recently I got a problem with my phone. A couple of weeks ago it started displaying charging slowly when connecting it to the power supply. In these cases charging takes hours to charge the phone completely, approximately 5 hours. Few times it says charging fast, and then it charges in about 2 hours. At the beginning I got the impression that it has something to do with the angle I plug in the cable, but it's mainly random.
Now I'm a bit afraid the phone is broken. I've already tested different power supplies, even the original one but it didn't change a thing.
I also tried using cm13 and the current oxygen, no difference in behavior. I even installed a different kernel, without success.
Do you have any idea what's causing the problem or if there's anything I could try?
Thank you!
@StarFishes82 maybe there's some lint or crud stuck up in the port. Use a toothpick and gently sweep inside.

I have experienced that different cables have different charging rate. I only can recommend to use the original cable or some better quality one which can handle 2A, but I assume you are using the original.
I can feel that since I am experiencing same problem. My phone is not detected on computers too. It isn't detecting on my Mac. tried on Windows machine too and unrecognised/Corrupted device connected message popped up. For now, I have flashed Boeffla Kernel (OxygenOS 2.2.0-X) and using its app(Boeffla-Config V2) to increase charge rate(Not recommended, phone heats a lot if you charge and use phone same time). My phone is charging in expected time but this is not permanent solution for this problem. I am taking my device to service center this weekend and recommending you same. Hope they cover this issue in warranty.
Just wanted to give some feedback.
I tried everything mentioned above, without solving the issue. The physical port is clean, I tried different cables, finally I contacted the support. I have to send them the phone and they are gonna repair it. So bad luck because I have to find a temp phone...
Hello Dear,
I have encountered the same problem as you today, but my phone is Sony Xperia Z2
Same problem exactly.
Charging Slowly (5 hours until full)!
What to do? Is there any fast workaround? I'm afraid the warranty is gone, can I fix it in any store?

While setting up pixel experience, suddenly stopped charging, could it be software?

Hi all,
My phone suddenly stopped taking a charge while I was setting up the pixel experience 8.1 rom I downloaded from here. Normally I would assume it was hardware but it seemed to happen just after I flashed pixel and was rebooting to set up supersu and xposed, so I was wondering if it might be software?
Doesn't charge or connect to pc when it twrp, or when powered off either though. And I have flashed lineage 14.1 instead and still isn't charging. I've not had any problems with the USB socket so far, and no amount of wiggling around or cleaning the contacts is working now. I have tried several cables and power supplies, they all work on my other phone.
Is there anything software wise that would still be a problem after flashing lineage? Or should I just order a new socket?
Can anyone just tell me if there's any part of the software a custom rom could alter that would affect ability to charge when the phone is off?
