Charging question - Xiaomi Mi A3 Questions & Answers

Is there any problem if i charge my Mi A3 with third party, but good quality usb c to usb c cable and brick that delivers the same 5v2a?
I know it can go up to 18w but it isn't recommended to fast charge on a daily basis since it could worn the battery faster.

Charging by third party equipment should not be an issue. Battery life is mostly affected by temperature and deep discharge. Charge always to 100% might stress it. It is recommended to keep it 30-80%. That is also the range of fastest charging.

Extended battery for the S7?

Any third party extended battery options for the S7? I prefer the slim version if possible.

I rigged up a battery pack using 4 rechargeable Energizer AAA's and just plug it into the DC power socket and double-sided taped it to the back of the unit
I imagine I could use some left over spare Li-Ion batteries from other phones though.

STEP 3: Solder them together so that the + and - charge come out of the same wires as the wall-charger
STEP 4: Plug in batteries
If this looks/sounds difficult, don't even attempt it, you WILL break your tablet.

Nice guys! I was searching for an internal battery solution.
These battery packs look nice but be carefull, the output is only 500 mA. The S7 charger is a 2amp output charger. I'm not sure how well it will run on a lower input.

The DC pack will only feed what the unit draws, and I doubt very much that it draws the entire 2000mA.
I have rigged up a USB charging cable for myself, USB pumps out 5v at 500mA max per port (I'm only using 1) and it charges a little slower than from the wall, depending on which computer I'm charging from, but apart from that it works great still and I can use the same cable to charge from other USB-charging devices like the one I have in my car.
The 500mA output will just mean it charges slower, and seeing how it's only a battery extender (IE, the oem battery is still required) and not a charging solution (the S7 can run without the battery off only the charge from the wall), the charge provided will be fine for extending the battery life.

500mAh as supplied by standard USB will charge but as you say only slowly.
It will not start a charge if the battery has been allowed to drop too low. That's common with all Lion batteries and is why you get a high current wall charger to do the job.
If you are using the device at the same time (and depending on the functions in use and the state of charge of the battery) you will definately struggle with any positive charge and will experience heat build up in the USB port, cable and device so be carefull!
If you are also using the device as a phone and get a call there will be an extra high peak current draw that has to be contended with and that complicates things further.
With all the tests that I have done allong these lines 1000mAh is a bare minimum to cope with eventualities and even then it's borderline.
I have blown car adapter fuses and had low current phone chargers get really hot.
I now only use 2000mAH rated chargers.
Are there any? I would really want to have a battery that could last at least 6 hrs... Any suggestions?

Energizer XPAL XP18000
That will give you about an extra 12-18 hours,
But no internal battery larger than standard. Why would you want one when the external packs are usable with any device and don't become redundant when you upgrade to a different model?

I have actually noticed my car charger heating up my phone more than my AC charger at home, but that might be because in my car I am usually talking or streaming music at the same time.
I think you noticing the charge stay at 100% longer from a usb charger might be just a placebo effect tho. This article gives a little insight of why you might notice your battery drop from 100% quicker than you would expect.
its been commonly said that slow charging prolongs overall battery life, and that it also lets the battery hold a stronger charge by slow charging it rather than fast charging it.
AC wall charger is 1 amp, USB is 0.5 amp, so USB always takes longer because its a slower charge.
i've been wanting to do this test too, maybe i'll give it a shot.

Charging in AC mode but lost charge while GPS navigation

I need help... while i am charging in car with AC mode charging, and running gps navigation, it lost charge. I could understand of it is the case in usb mode but why ac mode will also have the problem?
My charger has 2ports, 1 is 1A and another is 2.1A rating.
Please help, i am in a new country and i couldn't do long with gps losing charge. I am on DXELK1 rom
Try another charger and lead, your existing one may not be delivering the rated current. There is also a thread about the S3 deciding to reduce the charging current, with a fix to set it back to 1000mA - search here in Q&A.
I tried different car charger, still the same even those are charged at AC mode. I couldn't find the thread abt any tweak, any hints on keywords?
Probably GPS is draining more than can be supplied, so grab a kernel that has charging limit override and up the max to 1200mA
Usually due to battery temperature. Once it exceeds 45-ish degrees due to sunlight/charging/ambient and so on, the charge rate is reduced considerably to reduce the chance of battery degradation/damage. In other words, it is a safety feature that should never be overridden.

is there any tw 4.4.2 kernel with fast charge ? my note 3 is charging very slow from usb ( dont want to bring the wall charger everywhere i go )

Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't know fast charge was Kernel specific. Thought it had to do with the cable and plug in?
Any-ways, my two cents are no there is NOT.
With the fast charge app that looks like a battery it is kernel spefic. When u run the application it will either work or say kernel is not supported
The output of a typical computer USB port is a half an amp at five volts DC. If you get a charger, wall or cigarette plug, that is meant for an iPad, it will output 2.1 amps at five volts. It's best, for the battery life and phone, if you don't use a modded kernel for fast charging. Batteries last longer, overall life before replacing them, if they are slow charged. Heat from rapid charging will reduce the overall lifespan of a battery. I'm talking tech like in one hour or less chargers for AA batteries but it still holds true for lithium ion. Heat and hitting a battery hard with an aggressive charging circuit will kill a battery faster. My suggestion is to use a charger that has a max output of 2.1amps, like used with the stock and iPad chargers, to recharge the battery if you're impatient. Better yet, get an official Samsung external charger with battery so you can rotate batteries and have one charging or charged without forcing yourself to have the phone tethered to a charger often. There have been high profile instances where extended capacity batteries have burned up a phone, when charging, because the electronics of the battery were crap or the cells were of crappy quality. Be safe, be smart. Samsung OEM batteries might be expensive and low run time, but they won't usually cause a phone to go into meltdown mode because of their subpar electronics or cells.

Question Xiaomi Slow Charger will give any problem to Mi 11x?

I know we always have to use the default charger but this is also a fact that the fast charger is not always good for the phone's battery life. We can use it sometimes when we are really required fast charging.
I have a Xiaomi original charger 5V, 2A. I use to charge my device 20-80% with this charger. My phone will not get heat up like it compared to the situation when I charge with a fast charger.
Please tell me, is there any problem if I'm not using the default charger that comes in the box with the phone? I'm using that cable but with the Xiaomi slow standard charger. Will it be safe for both the phone and charger?

I AM USING XIAOMI 18 WATT POWER BANK WITH ORIGINAL XIAOMI CABLE AND I ALSO BOUGHT 50 WATT POWER BANK SO I CAN CHARGE MY DEVICE AT 33 WATT WITH 50 WATT Xiaomi POWERBANK COZ IT SUPPORTMax 33 watt charging and whenever i play games i use 18 watt powerbank to charge so it reduces heat.. . I didn’t face any issue …but never use fast charging while playing high graphics demanding games.sometimes while playing games if battery low then i use 18 watt powerbank to charge while play…

sometimes, in the case of need, I will use the fast charger otherwise I will always go with standard 5v 2A charger.
