my nephew has a s9+ that a friend gave him and the friend does not have the email or password for the permanent Google account lock out of the s9+.
I have a Motorola x pure edition that's unlocked and rooted and I was locked out of Google account one day and I posted on the forms and this guy came up with a flash file that I flashed through TWRP that eliminated the Google lock out account 72 hours but the s9+ is perm locked. g965u.
is there any way around this through oden or something?
his and my friend does not have the password or email account either Verizon told the friend to just throw it away.
The "owner" of the phone doesnt know the email address they used to log in?
Doesnt sound legit.
Simple process to reset your own email address.

if it is legit, then youll want to have this rich and dumb fella contact verizon and either add you temporarily as an authorized person just to troubleshoot or (less likely by the sounds of it) have him call and troubleshoot himself. XDA rules do not allow discussing bypassing google security methods

true.
so we went over there and he had find email and password then it took him to send a text to the SIM card that it was associated with "the phone number", put the code in it went through, then it ask for a recovery email address, in which they have the email address but not the password. if you ask me Google stupid and you're right bad apples ruin the whole thing.

Take it to a TMO store, I doubt anyone here will be too willing to help giving the possibility that you may have a stolen device.

if you really did buy it, then call the person up and ask them.... unless i'm mistaken if any store buys stuff from customers they're supposed to document all information in case the item has been stolen
The phone is locked regardless. There is an android bug that doesn't allow the phone to verify the google credentials after you try the pattern lock too many times. Even if if was the OP's actual phone, he'd need to either factory reset, flash a new rom to the device, or get a replacement phone.
No one here will be able to help you get past it. There were security holes that allowed people to bypass it, but Google has sinec patched those, without fixing the fundamental issue (users, their children, their friends locking them out and basically "bricking" the device for all intents and purposes).
You got got, and it's probably a stolen device (not saying you stole it, someone else could have).
If you go to T-Mobile they will ask for you account information and check the IMEI against you account. T-Mobile uses different bands as AT&T so there aren't that many people buying Vibrants up front to unlock them and use them on different carriers, TBQH. If that IMEI belongs to someone else (it's even on you contract/reciept), they won't replace the phone. They will assume it's stolen.
Maybe if you start a contract/new line the reps in the store may help you out, though.
However, contacting Samsung may yield better results, but I think the Warranty is handled by T-Mobile, unless it's a hardware defect (hardware locked devices and pattern lockouts are both software issues).
"No i didn't steal it"

Hi,
I bought galaxy s3 a month back and someone pick pocketed it today morning
The phone is non-rooted.
I have installed avast anti-theft in it.
Also the setting option in phone is protected by perfect app lock.
I have a samsung dive account, but I m not sure if remote control is enabled on my phone.
So, what are my options??
Can I get back my phone?

Its a good app.
But I cannot use its features since the phone is switched off and what if the SIM is changed?
if you don't have some sort of protection like passwords, I think your phone is wiped off now. And since the S3 have removeable battery... so those anti theft things are pretty useless.

Your profile doesn't say where you live, but if you reside in the U.S. or certain parts of Europe, you might be able to add the IMEI number of your stolen phone to a blacklist, to prevent it from working on many carriers. I know this doesn't help get your phone back, but at least you have the satisfaction of knowing the lowly thief can't use it on the blacklisted carrier networks.

If you logged into samsung account when you were configuring you should be able to lock it with samsung dive as well. Just go to samsungdive.com
Also i assume you sent lock message with Avast as well, if not you should do it ASAP. Regardless when the person changes sim you ll receive location over mail/SMS on friend's mobile unless the thief is a power user. Make sure you send that lock both with Dive and Avast and just wait for it.
Good luck.

I used this app once when my phone got stolen. I went on the computer and went to the Google play. You can download apps from there to your phone. There is this app called Plan B. Just download it to your phone. After that wait a few minutes and you will get an email of the location of where it is. Hit the thanks button if this helped

Unfortunately no.
Only few apps like messages, whatsapp, viber etc are password protected.
Everything else is open.
By now the thief might have done a hard reset also, which means my avast anti-theft is also rendered useless. :crying:

Well I hope you learned your lesson there. You always put a password on your phone so no one would be able to access anything unless given permission. Do you have insurance on your phone? If you do you can ask your carrier if they can track down your phone even if everything is deleted.
Hit the thanks button if I helped!

If you installed that and configured correctly the special phone number(s) where the 'SOS SMS' will be sent you have decent chances to get the SMS when the phone is started with a different SIM inside. In the meantime I assume you have also blocked your SIM with your provider?
But of course that on a rooted phone anti-theft is a huge lot harder to remove.

Yes..I installed it correctly and gave 2 numbers.
But my only concern is that if the thief does a hard-reset, avast anti-theft will also be uninstalled (since my phone is non-rooted).
And yeah..I blocked my previous SIM.

Long story short, factory reset phone. Prompted with "Phone has been reset, please enter last used Google Email and Password." So I enter in the correct information, proceed to the Terms and Agreement page, and it sends me back to the "Enter Google Email and Password." Page again. It's stuck in this loop.
I tried changing my password, factory resetting, clearing the cache, talking to Samsung rep (they said to send it into a service center), I'm just at a complete loss here.
Some research says that after you reset your password, you have to wait 72hrs before you can unlock the device again. I'm not sure if that makes sense...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Good luck. Smartphones have become pretty hard to crack in the past 2 years. The last thing i would maybe try is odin back to stock and try again. If that doesn't work, you should ask for a replacement. My job used to be a Samsung service center and we were told if anybody comes in with a knox or reactivation lock issue to send the unit to the head service center and they will send us back an other phone. Just like on the icloud lock on idevices, it's a huge hassle to bypass thoses locking mechanisms, and for a good reason.

Well at this point brute force would be an option to consider. There are a couple of thread of users being locked out of their own phone in the Note 4 forum, i remember seeing them when i had a note 4 and it was one of the most active threads, I know it took them a few months to figure out what to do when you are a legit user, not a thief, and you're locked out of your phone because you forgot to untick the reactivation lock option after either flashing or restoring. I know there is a way, but i'm not sure where the thread is, I know it's either in the T-Mo section or the international section because these are the only 2 sub forums i visited.
You should consider checking it out, might be your only hope before bringing the unit to Samsung...and BTW, you'll probably have to fight with them because technically, this is a user mistake...at least that's how we dealt with it when I worked for Samsung. If you're lucky enough, you'll deal with a person like me that can relate to your issue and will pass it under warranty by bending the truth a bit.
EDIT: My memory fooled me, it's the Note 3 forum, not the 4

Hi,
I from tihs understand that you have iCloud Actvation Lock problem, and need for you to add original owner password in your device to unlock. If you not are the original owner that only way is to use factory unlock service. I have the some problem as you and used this here: howtoiphonegeek .com and help me.

Yes I bought a phone off a friend more acquaintance. It's not stolen or reported lost. It had no sim card nor micro sd card inside it was hard rest when I bought it. I can not get passed Google sign in. I typed my email over and over again nothing I accepted the device on my email alerts. I called Google to ask what can be done they said take to AT&T. I called AT&T explained again what the problem was. They said nothing they can do on there side take it to retail store they can crack it for me. So I took it to the store they looked at me like I was stupid. Left now on here hoping there is a solution. I called the company who made it they ran again the IMEI code again obviously same result not stolen nor lost. They can't help me they wanted m e to pay for shipping it in to where ever for a repair they claimed lol.
Other things I tried multiple hard resets clear cache. Same result. I tried even putting in a working sim card AT&T that I bought for it try clicking use the AT&T network to get the process started same result can't get past Google older email protection. I can not ask the dude I bought off for his password nor his gmail. Due to he uses yahoo. Now only and doesn't remember any of the sign in info.
Yeah, I feel ya there. This one so far has me baffled.
ill make this short and sweet got my device today from Tmobile, and device was locked as we all now know, i have NOT paid it off yet.
I tried using the "Pixel device unlock app" it did not work gave me a "server error" when trying to use it
i then went into the tmobile app and messaged support explaining i wanted the lock removed and had tried using the app and was presented with the "server error"
The guy told me he would take a look (once he understood what i wanted to do)
He asked for my IMEI and then asked me why I wanted to unlock the device, I told him it was because i wanted to have the full use of my device and access to the bootloader incase of an issue where I needed to flash factory firmware and prevent having to bring and pay for it too be RMA'd, 10 minutes later my device was whitelisted and now my device is unlocked.
I hope this helps anyone who's dreams were crushed like mine when I received a device with locked bootloader
Thanks guys, glad to be back

I did not have as much luck as you. Spoke to two different reps and they both just kept repeating that it needed to be paid off before being permanently unlocked, regardless of the reason.

Are you long time T-mobile customer? If they think you are very unlikely to leave T-mobile anyway, unlocking your device just increases your "loyalty" and no harm to them.

You'll want to try to talk to your "local" team of experts during normal business hours found here in the US. I informed my service rep today that I understood their policy, but my Pixel 6's software was broken. That I needed to flash it via the Pixel utility found online. The rep wanted to via her documents, came back and said no promises. I reassured them the reason why and how I am not requesting it for any one EIP devices, just this one.
She came back and had whitelisted it. 10 minutes and done.
Messaging takes to long to explain this because they just push you off for 24-72 hours.
