So I don't have TWRP flashed onto my device, I am stuck in a bootloop after flashing EdXposed YAHFA on Magisk Manager. I then booted into TWRP using Powershell but when investigating the /data/ it only has india and reserve as folders.
I think it's because TWRP doesn't access the decrypted files, however I do no know how to decrypt the files for TWRP.
Does anyone know how I could remove/disable the module?
I must also add that adb doesn't recognise my device so uninstalling through that is a no go.
[UPDATE]
I have been able to re access the phone by dirty flashing my backup ROM from when I rooted. However I haven't been able to reflash my magisk_patched.img

That's right, the modded recovery just reverts me back to the bootloop. maybe it's because my phone's boot image was originally an A and not a B partition.
Sorry if I'm being dense here, I am quite grateful that you are attempting to aid me.

Could you try flashing this one?

If it doesn't work. here's a stock recovery;

reboot into recovery, enter password and plug your phone in,
then run

"cd data/adb/modules"

Hello
After searching the internet for good 30-40 minutes I found the Stock OnePlus 2 recovery image. I am returning my unit so needed it to be fully stock.
Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8np35kw71i222as/OPT Stock Recovery.7z?dl=0
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been searching for this for past hour!!!!!!
Hi,
Thank you very much.
I'm also returning my phone to oneplus and i had unlocked and rooted the phone like you.
May i know how you restore the stock ROM and recovery?
thank you
Why do you need stock recovery for that? I just wiped everything on mine and when I rebooted from twrp I chose not to protect twrp. Rma was approved so I guess they were satisfied with that.

Yes, including internal storage.
That I didn't know, but you don't void warranty by installing custom recovery or rooting so it shouldn't be an issue either way.

I haven't tested out the recovery myself, but you can check to see if it's the English one.

One "?" is enough dude..
You have to install adb for Mac (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31374085/installing-adb-on-mac-os-x), enable USB Debugging on your phone, reboot into bootloader mode :
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
then go into:

Hello everyone! I'm new on XDA and this is my first thread.
So, I've been messing around with my Honor 7 lately. I've flashed a custom recovery (TWRP), flashed a custom ROM (Unofficial CM13 for Honor 7: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/development/unsupported-cyanogenmod-13-honor-7-plk-t3542627) and root (SuperSU) and I've started to regret all of my decisions so I would like to take a fresh start (AKA flashing the STOCK ROM/Firmware)
Now, before anyone starts redirecting me to other (similar) threads, I've tried a lot. I tried to flash the stock recovery (a lot of different versions) but still when I try to boot into the stock recovery, my phone just reboots. I tried to do the force update thing (holding both power + & - buttons: http://www.gogorapid.com/flash-stock-rom-huawei-honor-7/), but this combination just boots my phone into TWRP. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong or that I'm missing something, like some requirements that are not being met? Please help me, I would appreciate it a lot! Thanks in advance.

Could it be? I booted my phone into bootloader (unlocked) and flashed stock recovery with adb using the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". I tried a variety of versions (from B100 up to B330 I think), but none of them seemed to work. What am I doing wrong?

As you know, TWRP still doesn't support FBE, so in-case if you wanna flash another system.img the Wipe data/factory reset in TWRP wouldn't work (at least didn't work for me).
That would force you to get back to stock recovery, which allows a successful factory reset.
Steps are pretty straight forward, if you already have a backup of your stock recovery just do the below steps, if else you could download one from the below link.
Put the device into fastboot mode. There are two ways to do that.
1)By long pressing the power button and volume down button whilst the USB is connected.
2)Just do a adb reboot bootloader command if you could boot into the system.
Then just do
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img
Then disconnect the USB and long press the power and volume up button until you see the "The device is booting now" message.

Just created a md5sum of your recovery and my backed up recovery. It's exactly the same size but the md5sum is different.
A quick look with a hex editor also shows some big differences. Is that expected?

MD5 hash wouldn't possibly match, because the backup was taken using dd and there might be some config files modified or added when I used the stock recovery once. But, hey the thing would work if you have BKL-L09 device

You will receive the updates but you won't be able to install them with TWRP. Simply flash the stock recovery and the updates will self install when they come. You'll have to root again with Magisk after the updates, but that's a simple process.

Same way you rooted in the first place. You flash Magisk with TWRP, as well as the "no encryption" file and the "don't check for root" file.
If you use LGUP with "DL PARTITION" method you can deselect "recovery" partition and keep TWRP.
If you use LGUP with "upgrade" method you will temporarily keep apps and data -- but then you still have to reinstall TWRP, and flash Magisk, etc. All that will wipe your data.
At least with DL PARTITION method, you are starting with TWRP...
If you had TWRP flashable zipped file of this update (like @westwood24 made for the H930 latest OREO KDZ), you could just flash it in TWRP recovery like a ROM.

No, TWRP isn't removed if you really excluded the recovery partitions when flashing in DL Partition mode. Many, many people have done this.
You are either not excluding (UNticking the boxes) the recovery partitions or afterwards you are not using the correct ADB/fastboot commands to boot back to TWRP recovery. You have to boot to TWRP to reflash the no encryption and no root check files, and to re-flash Magisk for root. The easiest way is through fastboot commands listed in the WTF thread instructions. The "hardware button dance" to get to TWRP is difficult and you risk factory resetting your device again.

Tools needed: boot.img extractor. I recommend the one created by osm0sis from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho....php?t=2073775
The first method was developed by osm0sis and removes magisk and all modules.
1. Unpack magisk_patched.img
2. Unzip overlay.dremove1.zip and place overlay.d folder in ramdisk folder.
3. Repack IMG
4. fastboot boot image-new.img created by repacking 8mg
This method is an offshoot of osm0sis version but boots core-only mode. Afterwards, remove the .disable-magisk file from the /cache folder for modules to work. Dot files are hidden files so if your root explorer can't see hidden files, run the "Remove disable_magisk" bat file in ADB.
1. Same as above but use the overlay.dcoreonly1.zip
For both methods you must be rooted for it to work. These are not cure all's for all bootloops.
Remove .disable_magisk bat file
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261684994
****************************************
Here is a fastboot bootable image to boot you into Magisk core-only mode in case you bootloop due to flashing a bad module and TWRP is not enough.
Once in fastboot:
fastboot boot image-newpixel3.img
You will boot with root but modules disabled. After you remove the offending module you will need to go to /cache folder and delete the .disable_magisk file before your modules will work.
fastboot boot image-newpixel3Remove.img
This one should remove magisk and all modules, then reboot and magisk should reinstall itself (ask to install necessary binaries). This is what osm0sis uses to recover from failed flashes. See this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pi...odules-disabler-booting-magisk-t3976625/page2
Images are in this common folder. Pick the appropriate image for your phone.

Amazing! Thanks
I can confirm this worked on Android 10/Q. I can't use the canary patch method for magisk because I forgot to remove the modules before upgrading to Android 10. This method works like a charm, it removed the incompatible modules allowed me to by pass the bootloop.
Thank you so much for sharing!
For those who are wondering, these are the steps:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot image-new.img
fastboot reboot

I just came across a time when I couldn't even boot TWRP on my Pixel 2. Here is a boot with root, core-mode Magisk image for Pixel 2 XL.

Yeah, I remember those days. Thanks for the image. Can it be flashed in TWRP or strictly adb/fastboot?

I've only used fastboot.

Here is a fastboot bootable image to boot you into Magisk core-only mode. If you bootloop due to flashing a bad module, in fastboot:
fastboot boot image-new.img
You will boot with root but modules disabled.
Tested by me and @123SIT whom contributed on the project.
Made from Pixel 3 XL but should work on the Pixel 3 also.

Here is a link to it on my GDrive. Can you please let me know when you've got it so I can delete it?

No problem. It's good to be a pack rat. I hope it worked.

Mega link seems to be working. Open with chrome, not mega app.
Edit: I've added a AFH download link.
i tried with chromium based browser (vivaldi) from both phone and pc and link didn't work, probably it was a WiFi problem, thanks for adding alternative link though. and your core mode image worked like a charme! and thanks again also to sliding billy for initial mirror support
Just what I needed. Thank you
How did you create it? I want to make sure I have one of these images on hand in the future when I need to fix things
Simply works, thank you!
Holy cow, thanks man. I can't believe @topjohnwu let this slide through. Without TWRP wtf are you supposed to do, reflash the whole OTA/factory image?!
EDIT: Wait, now I can boot and apparently have root but I can't access any of my rooted apps. It says "waiting for root". Magisk Manager gives me an "app not installed" error but it is installed on the device. When I click it it says "upgrade to full Magisk Manager" and does nothing. How am I supposed to delete the module folder?
EDIT: Can't access terminal, can't do anything. Permission denied via ADB as well.
EDIT: DO NOT DELETE MAGISK MANAGER OR ALTER IT IN ANY WAY WHEN USING CORE MODE. You will be stuck like me. I had to nuke my phone and reflash everything. PIA
