So I recently got a one plus 7t pro for Christmas and noticed while scrolling on Instagram that there are moments where to phone will try to scroll the opposite way. I have turned on the option to show taps but there is no other tap than my own.
Anyone have the same problem or a solution?
Not rooted, on latest os.No screen protector 90 hz. It acts normal sometimes but goes insane on the scrolling other times.Disabled nfc and reset cache but still no difference.
I also have this video which i found online which shows my exact problems. I cant type in the link due to me being a new member. However,
" Oneplus 7 pro scroll problem" on youtube should get you the exact video.
Anyone know a fix. Need help asap.
Mine has hiccups

I have a stock, unrooted Prime, on the current firmware (.21). Occasionally it will display this peculiar screen glitch - it reminds me of video card overheating symptoms I've seen on a few laptop monitors. The main artifacts show on the left hand side of the screen, as well as home screen icons and home bar jumping up and down a few pixels. It shows up in both applications and on the home screen. The issue is not dependent on the dock being connected - I tested with and without it. I have searched this forum as well as other sites, and have not seen anything similar.
Today I managed to take a few videos and have posted one on youtube. The link is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD6CbK6KL4Q
Has anybody encountered this problem before? Or have any suggestions?
Thanks
I've had that happen before on one of my primes, it was fixed by a quick reboot. For me it happened in the youtube app, so I also cleared the app's cache just to be sure, hasn't happened since.
I really don't mean to be a whinny *****.... but dude, there are enough threads about this exact same problem in the forums already. You really should have searched before creating another one.

Like I said in the OP, I did search on this forum as well as others, and have not seen anything similar. There are many reports of a tearing while opening/closing apps from the previously opened list, as well as horizontal banding across the whole screen. Also, the posts I could find were from people on previous firmware versions, who reported their issues disappearing after updating to the latest (.21).
For those two reasons (unique symptoms, and firmware), I considered this a potentially new problem, and created this question thread.
Feel free to link to similar threads you have found though. It could help me and others.

Interesting. (You have multiple primes?)
The first time this happened to mine, I had not used youtube at all. But since then, watching youtube videos has been the most consistent trigger to get the problem to occur.
The most recent time it happened, I noticed that the flickering stopped while I had my finger on the screen. (Conductive problem with video chip??)
I had this happen to me also with the camera application. I powered it off and back on again and it cleared it.
I have had this happen before. Mine looks worst though and the whole screen actually changes color, sometimes inverted color. Luckily it only happens when I connect to my HDtv through HDMI and doesnt appear like that on my TV. Usually clears itself without a reboot when I touch the screen or disconnect the Prime from the TV.

This is the issue I have when the screen is allowed to fall asleep while watching video (YouTube included). Open a YouTube video full screen, pause it, let the screen go black and lock. Now when you turn the screen back on see if the issue happens on the lock screen

Hi Everyone,
I need help on my nexus 5/Android 4.4.2. I want to be able to troubleshoot and figure out why my nexus 5 is acting strange -at least the OS part of it.
A BIT OF HISTORY: I just recently purchased this phone in the US through a friend.
THE SITUATION/ISSUES:
- When I go to the app drawer, sometimes the wall paper in the background turns black and comes back just after I tap a an app
- When I use the chrome browser and surf the web some something, it reloads the page I am viewing without me triggering reload. It's kinda annoying that it reloads pages i am viewing. Quiet a few times chrome crashed.
- When I use youtube and tap the voice command to search for videos, it accepts the command but it doesn't load the videos I wanted to search.
- Sometimes, when I tap the home button it kinda reloads the home screen.
I thought that it might be just the OS and maybe a glitch or something. I tried factory reset (vanilla android) a few times but it is the same. I have tried cyanogenmod 11 on it and it is still the same issues.
I am a newbie. This is my first nexus android. I have used HTC desire HD for a month and it doesn't have this problem.
If I am unclear with describing my situation/problem please let me know.

Since it persists in different roms looks like a hardware issue.. More of an ram issue is what I can make of.. Take a logcat and send it my way and I'll look at it.
The last 2 errors are pretty common. The last one is because your launcher is not locked on ram.

Thanks for the reply MasterAwesome.
I have just downloaded aLogCat to log issues on my phone. Once I've gathered enough activity/issues, I'll send it your way.
Are issues likes these common in Nexus 5's? I've reverted back to my Stock Android.
YouTube issue: I didn't update the YouTube app and the voice search feature on it worked fine - at least for now that seems to be the fix for it.
Chrome Browser reloading issue: I haven't found a fix but Chrome Beta seem to work fine. Still reloads but not quite as often. I think this reloading issue isn't just contained in Chrome Browser.
Skype Video Call issue: I forgot to mention that I used Skype for a video call once and every 1-3 minutes the video drops (but not the call) I would have to press back to go out of the call without hanging up and get back to it. That seem to reload the video again.

They are common? I have an N5 and have a few friends with them and hang out in the Nexus 5 forums too. It's definitely not that common. I've flashed dozens of roms on my phone and have not experienced any of these problems besides Chrome reloading a few times, though even that only happened a few times. I also use Nova Launcher and have never seen it reload (besides waiting for a new theme to load) or flake out once.

I have a Huawei Mate 10 Pro a couple of weeks and I'm really happy with the phone. But I have an occasional issue. The phone suddenly locks and the lock screen starts flickering. The battery indicator is also flashing between current level and 0%. The only way to get rid of this is to restart the phone. Does anybody have the same issue?
Same here 2 times today, wen i wach youtube and soneone wrote me in mesenger....
So it can be a messenger issue. Maybe I should try to uninstall the app and see what happens. Btw the Messenger is a "virus" anyway

Wen you got this problem? With messenger or just in any cases?
To be honest it's my wife's phone. So I have to investigate a bit. I don't have FB account. But she uses messenger constantly and also watches videos on YouTube or other streaming apps. It happened again a couple minutes ago. She was watching YouTube but she wasn't chatting on Messenger. It also happened when the phone was laying on the table and nobody touched it. So I really don't know what can cause this issue.
Super strange for me...too but i think is some kind software problem..or i hope so
I also hope that next system update will solve the problem. I also tried to uninstall ESET antivirus if that can cause the issue. But still the same
Im new in huawei thing it will be good any old user to share some opinion.....my phone is on 4days so...i will wait few days more and i will ask for replacment.
I'm just wondering if anybody else has the same issue!?
Happened to me today aswell, was listening to music in youtube. I bet it is softwares issue
Do you think it's Android problem or just app problem?
No clue. First phone with problem like this. But I don't think it is phone itself. Maybe youtube and messenger don't work 100% on our phones.
The question is if app's developers know about the issue. It reminds me my Lumia 950XL car bluetooth issue. It took them 4 months to fix it
Saw other topik with that bug it has a lot ppl with Same thing.

I have been hoping for these issues to resolve themselves since I was a Day 1 early adopter of this phone, but it's becoming annoying. Is anyone else having these issues? All apps have had recent updates.
Facebook

-Crashes randomly
Clash of Clans

YouTube

I also pre ordered my phone from samsung, i use those same apps and ive also had youtube freeze up on me. The lock screen sometimes hangs up but not very often at all. Facebook honestly ive had issues with it on every phone ive ever had, youtube ive been using the vanced version so i cant tell honestly say if the little glitches are from that maybe? The lockscreen seems to work fine if i just turn all security off and just swipe to unlock lol. I can go on and on with my little frustrations but my main complaint is the battery not being as long lasting as my s8+.

I've had a few crashes with CoC, but no more than I had with my v20, and if I'm being honest, probably less. I haven't had a single issue with YouTube or Facebook. I rarely see my lockscreen because I have it setup so that if my watch is connected, it's unlocked. I also use the fingerprint sensor to unlock probably 90% of the time.

Summary: An intermittent stutter or lag (most notably during fullscreen 4K HDR playback, in my case) which only goes away when you activate certain screen recorder applications like Game Tools or AZ Screen Recorder.
Below is a list of posts that highlight this problem that I and a few others are experiencing. The common denominator here is the use of a screen recorder, which removes any present stutter or lag.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/help/lag-stutter-overall-choppy-t3914381
https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxys10/comments/btwfbl/anyone_experiencing_stuttering_or_frame_drops_on/
https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxys10/comments/b79cw3/is_snapdragon_really_that_much_worse_than_exynos/
https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxys10/comments/b4nftn/snapdragon_s10_laggy_on_4k_youtube_playback/ (video evidence of problem)
The following two are from myself. My problem is that all 4K HDR content (could extend to other formats also but I need to do more testing) is stuttering or dropping frames. Screen recorder on and boom - it's smooth.
https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxys10/comments/ch172q/snapdragon_owners_does_this_type_of_video_play/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/help/sm-g9750-video-playback-throttled-t3950757
The lag returns as soon as you deactivate screen recording, which suggests that this is either a bug with the CPU or GPU not being optimized or boosting its frequencies properly, leading to these stutters.
I've put Snapdragon in the title as these posts all appear to be from Snapdragon owners, whether it's the US or HK variant. I don't recall ever having this issue as a last generation S9 Exynos owner. If you are an S10/+/e Exynos owner and encountering this issue, you could still try using your phone normally, with a screen recorder active and then without, to see if there is any performance gain (as crazy as it sounds, it might actually make a difference).
Below is a test I'm using to demonstrate this problem. It involves installing apps (namely YouTube Vanced and either one of two screen recorders I've tested it with), so it's not the most convenient. If I find a better method, I will update the post accordingly.
You will need YouTube Vanced. I'm suggesting Vanced because the original YouTube app doesn't let you view at 4K resolution.
Firstly, open Vanced and tap the account icon in the upper right. Go to settings, Vanced settings, Video settings and then toggle Resolution Checks to ON. Refresh and restart the app.
Now open Game Launcher, tap the three dots in the upper right > Add apps and add YouTube Vanced to the list. We're doing this for the screen recording function which I'll mention later.
Note: if you don't have Game Launcher or Game Tools, you can try AZ Screen Recorder as an alternative. Nice Shot does not work.
Once that's done, here's a 4K 60fps clip for you to try. It should be easier to perceive any hiccups with the higher frame rate. Please set the resolution to 2160p (tap the three dots in the upper right) and watch in fullscreen / landscape orientation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXb3EKWsInQ
Panning shots work best. For reference, see points 0:19, 0:46, 1:48, 2:14, 2:42, 3:04, 4:11 and 4:41 in the video. Does it look like it's stuttering or dropping frames intermittently?.
Now, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to show the navigation bar (you need the navigation bar enabled to use the recording function) and tap on Game Tools, which is the leftmost button. Tap Record.
While the screen is recording, are the stutters now gone? To my eyes, the video plays back perfectly while the recorder is active.

Yeah my S10 is crazy laggy, way laggier than my old S9+ ever was.
I still have it but I got a OnePlus 7 Pro instead of it, absolutely zero regrets. I'll try what you suggested, my lag also didn't go away after a factory reset. I'll reply again with the results.
---------- Post added at 02:10 ---------- Previous post was at 02:05 ----------
So my lag actually got way worse with screen recording, very stutter and no animations were smooth at all. The phone is a fresh install and I don't have a MicroSD card in it either.
Nope, no lag here and I would recognize it if I had it. I have to run a screen recorder from time to time and I see no difference with or without it. I have also never used One UI after the first 5 minutes of trying it. I also don't see enough people complaining to say this is a widespread problem.

Well that sucks, sorry to hear. Screen recording is the only fix from what I've found (if you could even call it a fix). I'm looking at the OP7P as a possible replacement, I don't think I can wait for an update that may or may not solve the problem.
Could I ask what was lagging specifically? Was it just the UI or video, or just everything in general?

It's not widespread, no, but I'm having it and so are a few other people. I only use Nova but One UI was no different so the launcher is not to blame, it's more likely an optimization issue that Samsung borked.
Should probably mention that I have the HK S10+, I don't know if it's particular to this model but the links in OP don't seem to suggest so.

Video playback is just fine, everything else is laggy. UI is a stuttery mess.
My S10 is not laggy, I don't know what others are seeing. I come from S7 Edge and S9, so I know how they feel.
Maybe we need to be more specific about our models when we talk. Mine is SM-G973U1 (unlocked US).
Standard UI, apps from the Google store only, developer mode active (for playing with Bluetooth codecs), build number G973U1UES1ASDB.

edit: updated OP
***UPDATE*** Okay now I've just encountered the strangest thing: When watching the video, if I keep my finger touching the screen (as in held down anywhere), the stutter goes away! The moment I lift my finger, it gets laggy again. Wtf is going on?
Before anyone asks, I'm caseless and have tried the Accidental touch protection and sensitivity options, those don't seem to do anything. Anyone able to explain what the real issue might be here?
Found a solution for me at reddit /r/galaxys10/comments/bgka23/lag_and_stuttering/
In short, you have to reboot after using DeX
