Hi
My Issue: Unexpected Bootloader lock by Xiaomi ADBFastbootTools while using Custom Rom (Xiaomi.EU) & Rooted Phone (Redmi K20)
My Phone: Redmi K20
TWRP Version: LR team TWRP 1109 for K20
I clean installed Xiaomi.EU stable rom ver. V11.0.2.0.QFJCNXM_v11-10.
Phone was rooted by using default feature provided in LR team TWRP recoevery. (magisk v20.0).
(If it helps, it shows in advanced settings of Magisk App, Preserve Force Encryption: ON, Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity: Off.)
I opened Xiaomi ADBFastbootTools and connected by phone. Developer Options was not enabled and thus USB debugging neither. So at that state of phone connected, I enabled those features. The phone popped confirmation for allowing the PC. I pressed ok and immediately right after, the phone bootloader was locked. It was updated on Xiaomi ADBFastbootTools. To confirm, I checked on the phone. Indeed it was locked. In developer settings, Allow OEM Unlocking option is there and turned on. However, It does not have the option of "Check Unlock Status" in developer mode anymore. So I can't add the device either for further unlocking.
My Xiaomi account is logged in and was also logged in when this happened.
What can be in this situation?
Can I even do a reboot? Or the phone will be bricked?
Is there a way I can unlock the phone again?
The situation seems very bad to me.
Looking forward for your support.
Thanks

I have Mi account and managed to unlock mi5s last year.
So now I try to unlock Redmi Note 3 Pro SD, it says my device not supported.
It's it true RN3P no longer can be unlock the official way?
Not really... I just re-unlocked mine yesterday. Try with China Dev rom. I was having issues with global dev and global stable. Unlocking just couldn't move ahead of 50%. But with China dev, the process was completed in less than two minutes on the very first attempt.

I'd add that the Kate version (Special Edition) doesn't have a China dev rom, and there are conflicting reports of unlocking with the newer roms. I couldn't get it to work with the current dev rom (forgot the exact version) and I just yesterday switched back to 6.7.14 and seem to had more luck. I'm still on my 'waiting period' of 72 hours though
The biggest hurdle for me was getting my Mi Account to bind with the newer versions (there's a specific option you need to set under 'developer options'), 6.7.14 doesn't have that & it seems not be a requirement (yet)

Oh okay my bad.... I just assumed you were talking about kenzo.
I guess i cant b really helpful in case of Kate.
I tried official unlock on global stable , Dev roms & was successful make sure to enable developer options hit allow bootloader to be unlocked ( device must be connected to a mi account & locate your device once ) & authorize USB debugging Also disable all screen lock , passwords ; keep device connected to internet switch to fastboot mode & unlock

hello guys...
i was able to get my bootloader unlocked officially....
i tried everything mentioned online but no luck it always gave error to 50 % on the unlock tool and via oem unlocking it mentioned couldn't verify device....
this is what i did...
1st enable dev mode.... make sure you have oem unlocking (only 6.0 and above) enable also usb debugging...
download latest unlock tool ... en.miui.com/unlock
download minimal adb tool .... https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
make sure you have adb drive (usb driver)
also just be extra caution instal mi pc suite (though i did it without this)
connect your phone
open command prompt as an administrator
move to adb directory.... and type adb devices to check if your device is listed
the type .. adb reboot bootloader
phone will reboot to fastboot screen
type fastboot devices to check device is listed let this window open
open mi unlock tool.....
login it will verify if you have permission if it fails try again eventually it would
click on unlock it would show a warning
now the important part
as soon as you click yes on warning remove the usb cable...... and as soon as it reached 48-50 % (not more than that) reconnect the usb cable
hopefully it would work....
Thanks
Hello. I have a problem. I have Xiaomi Mi8, which was sent back on a warranty, because it just didn't powered on one day. It was sent from PL to China, they sent it back after a month and from this time I had some issues. The phone came back with unlocked bootloader. I couldn't use Google Pay to use contactless payment, couldn't install Netflix for example, and other general problems caused by unlocked bootloader appeared.
Today I wanted to change that, so I entered fastboot mode, connected phone to PC, and entered "fastboot oem lock". It said OKAY, finished, but then phone was stuck in a bootloop.
In recovery, it says that "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device". Wiping data doesn't help.
I wanted to re-flash it with Global ROM, but Mi Flash says "Error: FAILED (remote: Erase is not allowed in Lock State)"
I wanted to unlock it using Mi-Unlock but this fails also. It ends with "Current account is not bound to this device. Add your account and device in MIUI's Settings Developer options Mi Unlock status" message.
I cannot enter settings because phone will not boot up. I read about authenticating with account_auth.exe on c mi com/thread-2173190-1-0.html (remove spaces, sorry but I cannot post links yet). I logged in, but then instead of "Unauthorized Xiaomi account" I have "Request failed" message and I cannot click "Apply Bind".
I'm running out of ideas. Phone will not boot, it can't be flashed, what else can I do other than replacing main board? Please help.
I had the same problem with Redmi Note 7 pro I have changed from china version to India version but I had some security issues with some app as the Bootloader was open since I flashed India version I did as you did from cmd I loced the Bootloader so the MIUI was blocked and phone was bricked I had to use boxes software then go back to china version again then setup new mi account with new E mail and different SIM then I was able to flash new global indian version of MIUI 12.5 but unfortunately I lost my IMEI 1 but lucklly had saved my Data on Google account ,so you should use boxes software to use your phone again!
After unlocking bootloader of my Redmi Note 9S Global version on MIUI 11.0.8.0, device status was showing phone unlocked in developer settings & OEM unlocking toggle switch was permanently fixed on "ON" -All OK uptill here.
issues:
1- I then install TWRP & Magisk Root, After these, I looked at the device unlock status at the developer settings page. But, what I see, It shows my device is locked. I can now enable or disable the toggle switch, the option that gives permission to unlock. It seems my device is locked as before. But, I checked the status with fastboot commands. And it writes unlock status : true. And I can install everything, Magisk root works, TWRP working fine. Uninstall any program etc. I know the device is unlocked. But, why it shows wrong info (locked) in developer settings?
Perhaps Magisk is trying to hide that the phone is actually unlocked.
Hows in your mobile. ???
2- i noticed Find mobile in mi account , is giving wrong location after bootloader unlocked . showing 6-8 KM away from my actual location. Google Maps location is working 100% OK . Before unlocking , Find device was giving exact location. pls check & inform back if this is the case in your phone as well. Any solution ?
Hey everyone,
I have a redmi 9s device and unfortunately I forgot my pattern. I still have a fingerprint record, but since my device was rebooted I need first to confirm the pattern. I also have access to the google accounts associated with the phone, but find my device doesn't working for me.
I don't think I have enabled usb debugger and anyway I couldn't get adb to recognize my device. Also, I don't have TWRP.
I have extremely valuable data on my phone that I don't want to lose. What are my options, either paid or free. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!
You must try to install twrp via bootloader and delete password with it
Hi - I have a Poco F1 running 11.0.9 with MUIU EU and Magisk 25.1. I'd like to remove the pin check at boot so that I can sell the device (I don't want to deal with locking the bootloader again). Is there a way to remove the pin? Under Developer Options, I see the "Encrypt device using Lock screen password" is disabled. Do I need to enable/disable it, or..?
Any suggestions are appreciated! This is a great device I just don't play pogo anymore
SOLVED: enable-then-disable did the trick.
