Redmi 9s - forgot pattern - Redmi Note 9S / Note 9 Pro (Indian Model) Question

Hey everyone,
I have a redmi 9s device and unfortunately I forgot my pattern. I still have a fingerprint record, but since my device was rebooted I need first to confirm the pattern. I also have access to the google accounts associated with the phone, but find my device doesn't working for me.
I don't think I have enabled usb debugger and anyway I couldn't get adb to recognize my device. Also, I don't have TWRP.
I have extremely valuable data on my phone that I don't want to lose. What are my options, either paid or free. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

You must try to install twrp via bootloader and delete password with it

Can't unlock my Phone after update

Hi at all!
After yesterdays update over WiFi (don't know which exactly, but I think it's MiUI8 6.9.8) my Redmi Note 3 (Qualcomm, 32GB) wouldn't let me unlock the device neither with fingerprint nor pattern. Before I updated it was normally unlocking. Normally I use fingerprint, so at first I thought i forgot the pattern, but after several attempts the phone went into lock mode. I am 99% sure I know the right pattern, but it won't unlock.
I already read this guide: http://en.miui.com/thread-5684-1-1.html and tried this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMAPEhH5z-8
But I have still several problems:
- USB debugging not enabled
- no recovery installed
- no root or open bootloader or anything like that
- no backup of all photos, which are on the phone itself and not on the SD card (I just came back from holidays)
- no cloud or similar backup
- Mi Pc Suite does not detect phone
- Google Device Manager states "Since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password that you entered won't be needed." if I try the send a new lockscreen.
This method (with flash afterwards) could help me, I guess, but I still would loose everything: http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-reboot-to-edl-mode-fastboot-test-t3398718
I have absolutely no idea how i can unlock my phone without loosing any data (especially the photos).
Please if anyone has an Idea, help me!
Same happened to me so I restored my backup, once the restore had finished I removed the finger print and pin number (I had read about this on the xiaomi Forum). Then did the update again and this time it was OK
sounds easy, how did you restore the backup?
Before restoring any backup, I suggest you hard restart your phone. long press the power button.
but if I make a Hard Reset I will loss everything on the phone.
Is there maybe a possibility to insert some sort of file or command via EDL mode, that USB debbuging will be enabled? http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-reboot-to-edl-mode-fastboot-test-t3398718
No not the hard reset. I was talking about hard restart. The phone will just restart.
ahh I see, sorry my fault.
But nonetheless I din't made any backup ever with this phone.
same problem here
my phone redmi note 3(qualcomm 32gb) is also locked just yesterday ! it shows try again after 120 minutes and after the time completed it shows pattern and it will be locked again and shows the same dialouge after trying my correct password ! actually we shoud get forgot password option behind the emergency option ! please do give a reply to me if you find any solution it means a lot to me !
Well I am afraid I can't help you either... after searching for 2 days I found no solution and flashed my phone. so all data was lost...

My Redmi Note 4 (MTK) suddenly doesn't accept my password

Hi all,
My Redmi Note 4 (MTK) with stock ROM and MIUI 8 (presumably) had several continuous strange reboots and since then. It doesn't accept My password to unlock the phone. (I assume never changed the password myself)
I have Google and Mi accounts logged in on the phone and the device data encryption is ON. there are valuable data on my phone and don't want to get it unlocked in exchange for losing all the photos and data. I didn't find any way to unlock the device remotely via Google or Mi account which is a frustration.
How could I solve the problem?
P.S: I've seen a password resetter tool on an old topic in Mi forum which also is proposed for a different model (Note 3G). not sure if it could help. Should I try that? the Topic is here

If you are rooted and have twrp installed then try this

Thank you. I didn't install any third party recovery tool or root the device myself. However, root checker apps declared the device is rooted. I assume it's the default setting by Xiaomi and they've shipped the Redmi Note 4 device rooted?
Regarding the recovery tool, I'll enter into Mi's default recovery environment by pressing power + volume up. Could I do anything helpful there? like installing twrp
I had this same issue recently (three times in the space of 3 months)
I wish I'd seen this thread earlier as I just factory-reset. The 3rd tone it happened, I reverted to stock miui. I was using the modded aosp Rom at the time.

Vendors never ship devices with root access. Is your device second hand? Also did you notice having any app named supersu or magisk installed on your device earlier?
Currently you have miui recovery installed. You can only do a factory reset from there, but it would just wipe everything including data. And regarding all the tools you talked about. They require an unlocked bootloader. So inorder to not lose data and Remove password you need to unlock your bootloader and install twrp recovery. Here's the thread for it
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/development/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-root-t3717952
Note that getting unlock permission can take from 1 week to 3 weeks.
If you want to get your phone fixed urgently then the best way is to visit a service centre. But then if you can wait for a week or so, you can fix your device yourself.
After twrp is installed then just follow the guide i linked above.

No my device wasn't second hand, Actually, it was somehow strange because some apps like a mobile bank app were stating that the device is rooted whereas some other apps didn't detect any root sign on the device. There isn't SuperSu or Magisk installed on the phone too.
I just applied for getting unlocking the phone (Although for my HTC phones in the past, just used some tools from here and get the bootloader unlocked. I don't know why it's not the case for the Redmi Note 4 -or Xiaomi phones may be- in general)
I also tried the Method II here (was expressed would work for the phones Without Recovery Installed) but got Permission denied error on adb shell for rm *.key command. (Maybe it's related to the locked bootloader?)
Thanks

Adb required usb debugging and computer to be authorised, so since your phone is locked you can't allow it. And adb won't be able to perform anything on miui on lockscreen.

Since my phone has the USB debugging enabled already and I've used it with my computer (the computer was authorized). I was able to back up my files on the phones memory via ADB with below command:
Code:
adb pull "sdcard/[Folder Name]" "Path/On/My Computer/To/BackUp"
After that, I've wiped out the phone remotely via Mi account. This way I just lost my SMS and call history, since hadn't synced them with Mi cloud account.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting my unlock permission from Xiaomi and install a custom recovery for future possible issues.

Working but unusable Redmi 3

Dear community,
you are my last resort to help me in this situation...
I have Redmi 3 which I last used 2 years ago. In that time It was associated with my Mi account. Today this account doesn't exist anymore - don't ask me why, I don't know.
I factory resetted it. Now, when it starts, it asks me for Mi credentials and doesn't let me access other phone options (settings, apps, etc.) I enter my old credentials, but of course it doesn't recognize them (account does not exist / username-password is invalid). This leaves me with unusable phone.
I tried many things:
- wrote to Xiaomi support, but they refuse to help me. They redirect me to local support or to my seller (which doesn't exist anymore).
- I flashed with brand new clean MIUI rom. I can use phone normally until I put it online. It instantly locks the phone and asks for Mi credentials.
- tried installing other OS (such as Lineage), but can't do that, because I need TWRP. To install TWRP, I need to unlock bootloader. Unfortunately I didn't unlock bootloader when I could do (2 years ago). If I try to unlock it now, my username doesn't get recognized.
-- I tried creating new Mi account to associate to my Redmi 3. Association requires internet connection which instantly locks the phone.
-- I also tried installing TWRP as it shown in this youtube video: watch?v=quNAkht1Lwc [can't publish link, I'm new user] Procedure puts my phone in looped boot process.
- I tried flashing this custom Xiaomi EU ROM but can't even flash it (instructions are at xiaomifirmware site guides-and-tips/twrp-custom-rom-locked-bootloader-redmi-3s/ [can't publish link - I'm new user])
I probably tried some other options, but can't remember them now and I'm literally exhausted!
So, in brief:
- my phone has locked bootloader
- Mi account associated with phone doesn't exist
What else can I try? Let me know if you need additional info.
Sorry for the late reply.
Have you tried to boot into fastboot mode and
- fastboot oem unlock, to unlock bootloader?
If you can unlock bootloader, try flashing a recovery. That will give you more space of maneuver.

Bricked (maybe) and Frp Locked

Hi,
I have a redmi note 4x (Snapdragon Version).
Earlier this week, I have flashed the stock firmware of it through fastboot to return from a custom rom to the stock one. But after flashing - wifi, gps, bluetooth was not working. Then I flashed several more times. But after all these nothing happened. And the device remained the same (bluetooth, gps, wifi was not working).
Then I started using it like that as I couldn't find any solution at that point. Then my younger brother wanted that device and I wanna shift to a new one. Then I gave it to him.
My brother is just 11. He opened a new google account in the phone, and removed all others (mine ones). Then 2 days later, he forgot the device passcode, and reset the device through revovery option.
Next, after resetting the phone, it was asking for the previous google account. And unfortunately my brother forgot the password of that google account. (the account had no recovery option).
Finally, we are stuck. Can't bypass the frp because, wifi is not working. (it's bypass works through the wifi setup page in the setting up process) When the device comes to the wifi setup page, it goes blank, the only thing then i can do is to skip it and enable mobile data to continue.
....................Now, can't unlock the frp and can't recover it to enable the wifi gps bluetooth option...............
So, please help me.
Advance thanks.
Hi, I can't help you with your problem but I recommend creating a Telegram account and joining Redmi Note 4 groups. You'll get answers to your questions much quicker there.

Question Unlock bootloader, no access to Developer Options

Hi all,
I've been struggling for days now to find out how to unlock bootloader on RedMi Note 10 Pro.
A friend of mine has forgotten his screen lock pattern.
I've done a device reset wiping away all datas.
While reconfiguring it I keep hanged on Android FRP protection: although I am using the same google account I keep having the "something went wrong" error message.
What I wanted to do, then, is reflash MIUI Standard ROM, but can't succeed as bootloader isn't unlocked and no developer options have been turned on on device.
Can someone please point me to the solution?
Best regards,
DD
Update.
Phone is REDMI NOTE 10 PRO - M2101K6G - Maybe I posted it in the wrong section...
I've managed to update ROM to MIUI 14 using XiaoMiTool V2.
Unfortunately I didn't got rid of Android FRP.
I've got access to the google account used on the phone before resetting it (password, phone number, recovery email).
But if I use the account during phone configuration, android asks for the account previously used on the phone... which is exactly the one I used!
Actually I'm locked out of my own phone!
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
DD
