I have bought it from AliExpress..Is it good?
Good for what?
1. check reviews on Ali, popular products have usually real experiences
2. connect your phone to the charger, run some kind of diagnostic app (AccuBattery for example) and see charging current / speed
3. compare QC3 and 5V/2A slots to see the difference
4. report back to this thread, so we know if it's good

Hi. I recently bought this phone. The No.1. draw in purchasing it was the ability to use a full size usb keyboard with it - for writing emails, etc. (other android phones seem to suggest that this is available or about to become available - but I couldn't get a clear answer on this so I went with the TG01).
It works fine. However, a usb keyboard (rated 50mA) uses up the phone's battery in half an hour! Is there a discreet/compact powered usb hub that I can use to power the keyboard - and still allow the phone access to the keyboard?
My specific scenario means that I have no means to install any software on the pc that I am using (its a work thing).
Looking forward to any further insight that anyone can provide.

No, This is a major problem with TG01, You can use the port either to charge or to connect to USB Hub or Headphones..
In my opinion, you have the following alternatives:
1- Buy a high capacity battery.
2- Buy a bluetooth keyboad.
Hope this helps.

Hi wafeeq. Thanks for taking the time out to respond. Is there any other smartphone (or mini tablet) that will do this job with a usb keyboard?
I guess I can go for an extended life battery - I think there is one on the market that is 4x capacity - so thanks for that suggestion.

Having such battery from Mugen ( it is only company I know that makes 2400 and 3900 batteries for tg01 ) You will have bigger back cover ( You can even buy big cover itself - You will save a lot of money. Mugen has very expensive batteries ) so if You know proper person , You can create any junction in it ( maybe with addition of few electronic parts ) to .... charge battery from external charger ( or usb slot from PC or laptop ) in the same time when external battery will be connected to tg01 usb host.

hello
I noticed the charging speed of note 2 is very slow when I connect to USB,
so I want to buy the new asus motherboard that has BC 1.1 which apparently makes the mobile devices 3 times faster on charging.
but want to make sure if my note2 is compatible with it.
does anyone know?

It doesn't seem like it does. I have an ASUS P8Z77-M motherboard, running Win8. Even with the full AI Suite installed and AI Charger running (which is supposed to allow it to charge at a higher rate) it doesn't detect my Note2 as something it can fast charge.
Can confirm not working. I have the ASUS P8Z77 V-Deluxe with the full AI Suite installed and ready to go. Better off plugging it into the wall.
Sent from my Xposed Beans Note 2
From what I've gathered from other threads, the kernel limits the charge rate.
(Old thread, ran into it ..)
And from what I gathered out of own experience it seems to darn well work.
A) It charged fast (... )
B) Updated the AI Suite just now and it was not charging as fast as before....I noticed when I unhooked my phone a while later....
So am playing with the settings now (which strike me as a bit vague ).
Oh, this is done with a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.
I'll start with I've had my Nexus 6P for over 45 days now, and besides my most demanding tasks its crushing everything I throw at it. However I've noticed a few things that I dislike about it first being the serious lack of quality USB Type C Charges on the market, especially a car adapter. I resolved this by buying extra cables (type C to type C (iorange-e))and Google's wall charger with a decent DC inverter. Second problem is that allot or great apps have yet to make push to marshmallow. Both problems are not really a bad thing as they will resolve themselves with time. Loving the amount of development phone is receiving anticipating multirom support. If anyone has any questions or wishes me to test anything (within reason) just let me know.
How often do you have to change the phone when using it normally? Also, what are you normally running? (BT, wifi etc)
Where did you find a wall charger from Google for type C? When I check Google store in Sweden they only have the chargers with welded on cable.
I am really looking forward to getting my nexus 6p, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow ☺

I awesome you meant charge, besides heavy use I have 40% remaining after 10 hours of work calls, fact checking, emails (50 day avg), YouTube on way to and from work (45 minute drive each way), and 30 to 45 minutes of lite gaming (minecraft, space agency, NFS, cell lab) and charger can be found here: https://store.google.com/product/usb_c_dual_port_charger

That's the one!
Gotta love it when your favorite tech reviewer picks your phone as the best of the year. https://youtu.be/UBuVR8_Mybw
Is it possible? I assume it would be but not at fast charge rate, I'll be using it on a flight and it would be nice to keep it topped up, as I'm sure connecting an external hard drive will drain the battery very fast (uses 2.5W!)
The dual charging + USB storage access is usually something that is kernel dependent. I did just verify that, on my M5, an OTG cable will only do one or the other. However, in the future I'd bet a developer will add that capability.
Have a good trip!

Thanks, i'm going away end of august, but in any case the flight is only 3hrs, and with the big battery i should survive.
:good:
Sorry to necro this thread but has this changed lately? I would love to use the M5 in a fixed car install but that would require OTG+Charging. Is there a known ROM, Kernel or hardware/dongle that enables this?
I am looking for 1 Razer phone user as a volunteer to test the sound quality of 2 in 1 usb c adapter which is developed by my teams. It is not a simple project.
If the first guy test the feature is ok, in additionally i will need 10 more volunteers to test the sound quality.
All cost on me. Keep it with you lifetime and report to me if you find any issue.
After developed and tested for half a year, now at my side, tested Google Pixel 2 / XL, Essential Phone, HUAWEI, XIAOMI works well, and feedbacks from other users are the same.
For this adapter, DAC sampling rate max 96KHz with 24 bits, ADC 48KHz with 16 bits. Max 3A output under PD charging. It cannot support QC but the current can reach 1.5-2A depends on your original wall charger.
Some people may ask about safety. The motherboard will take all risks, instead of the connected usb c end or your phone. In the usb c end connected with your phone, there is no components inside. That means, even the motherboard burnt, your phone is still your phone. Moreover, the motherboard is really hart to get shorted, unless you use a 3rd unqualified wall charger.
Then, show me your interests thanks. you can see the design first: amzn.to/2mi2BXL

Update on 20180810:
After studied, our this adapter unfortunately cannot work with Razer Phone's current system, however, it may work with next generation system. I will update whenever we test it ok and re-edit here.
Thank you for all Razer Phone user friends attention here.
Hi why so big?
If there's no components in there as you stated, why not make it like this.

I mean there's no components in USB C end, not the another side.
At the beginning i indeed want it to be the shape like the one in your link. But after tried, it is impossible to make it as a Y shape cable. 2 essential chips set (DAC+Charging) with too many ICs need to lay on one motherboard and work together instead of separated into 2.
If the adapter is not with DAC and fast charging, the answer is yes to manage as Y shape. But you can't use it for Razer Phone.
Still looking
I'm a bit late to reply here, but are you still looking for a tester?

Hello Friend,
The first volunteer has ordered it and i am waiting for his testing report.
If he reports ok to use, i will keep my words to have 10 more volunteers.
Please kindly wait for my advice, i will tell you right away i receive notice.
thanks for your interests!
Willing to volunteer
Have been looking for a USB c to hwadpgone to usb c adapter ordered one and it didn't work. Would love to volunteer to test yours
So I just went ahead and bought one from Amazon as linked, and unfortunately this adapter has a nasty habit of disconnecting and reconnecting power charging. I'm not sure if the dongle is power cycling every 30 seconds or what... Yeah that Charging sound is dinging every 20-30 seconds and it's kinda disappointing.
Thank you for your trying. We have analysed the problem. We confirmed our adapter cannot compatible with Razer's current system. After checked with razer phone, our adapter may work with their next generation system when razer fix system bug.
Thank you for reporting this case. Please kindly return it and get refund! If you have issues on returning via Amazon, tell me and i will refund to you directly.

What exactly is the system bug that is causing this issue? Are you referring to the fact that you're trying to utilize USB-PD and not using QC4+ protocol?

This adapter do be able to charge OR audio either one, but currently the 2 function cannot work TOGETHER on Razer phone.
I also find the same issue on HTC models.
The only reason i can assume is that, these 2 brands' system DO NOT ALLOW people to charge and audio at the same time, unless the brand owner unlocks this limitation in next system OTA.
If you find other possibility, please let me know thanks. I also want to solve this problem but now i have no more ideas to do with Razer Phone's current system.
