Hi everyone! I was wondering if anybody with a Chinese 8x has already upgraded to EMUI 10 and whether or not they have retained Google services. Thanks!
For anyone having the same question:
Google works even after the update (I dont use google pay, so cant say anything about that, the huawei p30 seems to have issues with that on some occasions).
I installed lzplay GMS with the backup method, everything seems to work just fine

so i manged to get around and update my device to EMUI 10 but whenever I install that chinese app via Hisuit, it gives me a message then the application closes, so could you link a video or type the steps?
two things:
normally, you should install google FIRST, then update from 9 to 10, I am not sure if the method I used works in 10.
The method I used is shown in the video below, watch it fully before replicating it.

But will I be able to update to 10 normally without having to remove the GMS apps?

I just received my Huawei Honor 8x Max. It came from China as it's the newer version having 6gb ram & Snapdragon 660...
The operating system seems unstable and despite Google Store being installed it does not work.
When attempting to open it, immediately closes to home screen. Several more attempts & then it says crashed and prompts me to delete it...
Tried clearing data/cache, still not working.
Uninstalled Google Play store still no difference.
Any ideas??
I got it. Fully works and integrated into the phone. Just using the phone itself. Emaïl me @ [email protected] for info

To install Google play on this phone. You need to download gsminstaller.apk. But the phone block you from installing it. First enable developer option. Go to enable usb debugging. Disable monitor apps install by adb.
apkinstaller .c om
Install and run this. Connect your computer to your phone. Install gsminstaller.apk using apkinstaller. After that install Google installer 2.o apk on your phone. Run it.. u should have Google play installed.
All the file can by downloaded by googling it. Sorry it take too long to go step by step detail.

I used adb to try and install gsminstaller.apk from the pc and the phone shows me the same screen blocking the install, saying I should open appgallery to download a safe/compatible version of this app. but this app was removed from the appgallery by huawei...
THE SOLUTION: Go to developer options in the phone and enable app installs without asking for permission.
This will wipe all google apps, but its the only solution that works.
Remember to re-install the old 4.4.4 google contacts sync because I think that gets wiped too.
I hate updates i knew it would ruin my brand new phone... **** you honor, stop ruining our phones. First you make people pay for root, now thins.
Im not updating again.
Did it work? Just wondering. Got Google on Honor 8x. Orderd from China. Working fully.

Any solution for getting G services and apps to work after EMUI 9 update? I can install all services with GMSanzhuangji.apk and Gmsinstaller 3, but still no luck on running them... Play Store keeps force closing and cannot add a google account for the contacts and all other sync services

As mentioned in the title, I just got a brand new Huawei Nova 5i Pro with EMUI 9.1. It's a Chinese version without any of the Google apps.
I've already tried GMSInstaller 1.2 and GoogleInstaller apps. At first, all google apps crashed upon startup. Once I got to open Google Play, the "Sign in" button appeared but clicking on it froze the app. The same happened when I tried to add a Google account in Accounts.
After that, I did a factory reset and installed all apks again from Apkpure. Still not connecting.
Did I do something wrong? Does anybody knows a different method to bypass the Huawei block? I used the same apps on my previous Honor 9 and I never had any issues.
Thanks in advance!
You need to UBL your Device, install TWRP App and install Gapps app.
Would anyone have found a solution?
I just bought a nova 5i pro assuming the usual way would work but google play keeps flashing and closing after install, and that’s after trying gsm, googleinstaller and getting all individual apks
Thanks

Hi, anyone can advise if it is possible to use google pay on china version?
Yes. Play Store can be found and downloaded from Mi's App store ( GetApp) and it works perfectly so far.
You should be ok for now. The latest change is using a client/server check using a certificate for authentication, but as far as I know it's only looking for an unlocked bootloader. If you're planning to root, I also think you're ok for now, I'm running a recent xiaomi.eu weekly build on my MiMix3 and the Magisk module for hiding the bootloader status is still working fine. At some point, it looks as if the Google framework may be updated to block Magisk, however. I did read something about it eventually blocking Chinese devices, but I don't see how this can be correct since Chinese devices legitimately ship with the Google framework anyway, but this is assuming you don't root.
mine is stock and not rooted. I am able to install and add payment card, but when i use it, tap near the terminal, it did says, sign in has changed and i wasn't able to complete the transaction. What else do i need to install to make it works?
Uh-oh, I also may have spoken too soon. I just rebooted for an AdAway update, and got a Google Pay error after boot....
so anyone has successfully use google pay on those china rom?
The xiaomi.eu is based on the China dev rom. I used GPay about 2 hours ago. I'm also running the Chinese firmware. My guess is you're doing something wrong. I had difficulties related to the bank profile for the card I use.

Did you ever resolve the Google Pay issue? Any issues with other secure apps?
Hi,
This is my experience with downgrading and installing Google apps for my new p40.
Start: Buy phone!
Use Xda forum to fix the issue with Google Services by following this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/googlefier-install-gms-huawei-honor-t4180485 ; Thank you, @bender_007
Used USB method for this fullOTA firmware, by @bender_007: P40 5G ANA-NX9 (C432E6R5P2) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ICwPJRAcZEfltFHSRYGVgV-Txql-wQ3X/view?usp=sharing
Everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT:
1. Some apps can't be used as I'm getting the "This device isn't Play Protect certified" ...thx google! (see screenshot)
2. Annoying notifications from Google (managed to solve this by hiding the notifications ))) )
3. Unable to add more google accounts (besides the ones added in step 1 for the googlier app)
4. Unable to sync contacts after the fact (initial sync works)
Have any of you found a working solution for these issues? The most frustrating one is no1. Device isn't play protect certified.
I tried the https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/ method to certify my device,.... but it doesn't seem to be working. ( See this https://www.technobaboy.com/2020/03/07/how-to-fix-device-is-not-play-protect-certified/)
umm.... anyone?
I've followed the https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/googlefier-install-gms-huawei-honor-t4180485 :
I've Downgraded sucessfully then install googlefier a bunch of times, following the procedure.
Generally gms is working except for contact syncing and notification.
everything is working except for gmail notifications, did the googlefier guide a few times

Hi i have a Huawei p40 ana-nx9 with firmware 10.1.0.154. can you please tell all the passages exactly to downgrade and install Google services?
I have a Huawei P40 with Google services on firmware 114.
Added 2 Google accounts via firmware downgrade and Googlefier.
I want to add more google accounts.
How can I do it without loosing existing apps and data?
Hi guys, stucked on the 10.1.0.176 version. Broke my screem, had to replace it and huwawei made a reset on the phone. Before that it worked like a charm with GMS and notifications.
Is there any solutions by now on how to downgrade down to .149 version?
Cheers.

I ran into the same issue today. I'm not sure when it started as I didn't use my device for the past 2 days. But anyway I followed all the guides online and ended up doing 2 factory reset which didn't fix the issue. I was still on Android 8.0 though because I wanted to keep TrueHD passthrough so after the 2nd factory reset I allowed the 9.0 upgrade to go through and now Netflix is working again. Bummer!
Experiencing this exact issue as of 2 days. Have no idea how to fix this
i have the same problem i am on android 9 but not the latest update
UPDATE:I have updated the mi box and its working i think it has to do with drm keys been updated
I read many bad opinions about updating this Mi Box to higher versions of Android. I was avoiding to update as hard as I can.
Are there any problems with version 9.0? I heard about lagging, slowing down, apps crashing...
Which functions I will lost updating from 6.0.1 to 9.0? I know it is one way procedure, it cant be undone..
Also had this problem. I've updated to the latest firmware and Netflix works again.

I'm not sure about what you lose from 6.0.1, but I know from 8.0 to 9.0 you lose HD audio passthrough. Atmos with DD 5.1 still works but you can no longer pass 7.1 Atmos, True HD, and DTS X. If you don't care for those then it's not a big deal to upgrade
Those who don't want to upgrade can send ESN and I can integrate it in a modded Netflix apk which will play Netflix in full HD.
Is it safe to share ESN number?
Yes, you can cut it after the 5-figure number.

I sent you ESN via private message.
I see. I will send you the apk with the ESN number added in the evening.
Here is the Netflix apk which should work on Mibox.
The apk doesn't contain the full ESN, just the part which is the same for all Miboxes:
com.netflix.ninja_8.1.2_build_3844_mod_XIAOMIMIBOX3_fullHD
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

Does it work on ANY Mibox 3?
I ask because I have the same device (MDZ 16 AB), and the same problem - my Netflix stopped working on 10/12, a week ago.
When I saw this topic it was like the "light at the end of the tunnel", as I also don't want to update the box (mine is ATV 8.0 Oreo) and yet wish to have Netflix back. So I didnt think twice when I saw the modded apk file, so immediately went try to install it on the box.
Unfortunately, installation failed! I tried using Root Explorer app, as I always do when installing apks on mibox. But no success there. There is a message that says someting like "could not match the previous installed version." Reminding that Netflix app is a "system native" one, that is impossible to uninstall, just deactivate. Maybe it has something to do with this.
PLease, let me know a solution for this. I was so close that giving up now is not an option!
It should work on any Mibox if you manage to install it. I don't have the Mibox myself. I just modified the apk with the ESN number. Try this from another user:
1. delete app data
2. force stop app
3. Uninstall
4. Restart device
5. install moded apk
My mibox is running on Android 6.0.1 and Netflix was preinstalled but not system app, I was able to uninstall it.
Maybe it is possible to uninstall Netflix via ADB?
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm realizing that the holdback is my Netflix being a system app, impossible to remove it completely. I've already wiped off everything I could from it - app data, unnistall updates... basically it is back to factory version. That is the best I can do.
Previously, I was able to install other Netflix versions via Aptoide TV (none worked, of course), through the "update" option, much like the Play Store way. So maybe the matter is the modded apk's way of installation.

Well, if it helps to clarify the issue, this is exactly the error message after trying to install the modded apk. It says:
"INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE Package com.netflix.ninja signature do not match the previously installed version_ignoring!
So, would anyone know of any more ways to erase a system app on Android TV? I can't believe we are on the threshold of 2022 and there is still no way to get rid of these bloatwares quickly and easily!
Or else, any indication of a nice and clean tutorial for removing app via ADB, specific for mibox 3, would be of great help!
Happens also in my mibox 3.
How come lots of people are having this issue these days.
Seems like they are having some kind of expiration date bug.
