Root Explorer moving files slowly - LG V30 Questions & Answers

For about a month, Root Explorer has been moving files very slowly, regardless of source or destination. Internal and external SD moves are crawling along and it seems to be block related. It'll move until a multiple of 64, then pause, then eventually continue on. A 300GB file will sometimes take a few minutes, where before it would take a few seconds. It was last updated January 7th, but was happening before that.
Anyone else with this issue?

It has a free trial. I'm sure you would like it.

Love Root Explorer. But haven't tried to move any files recently, so can't confirm any issues.

Could you try temporarily moving your backup TWRP flashable ROM from one folder to another?

Folder tabs? Ofc there is. Just play with the free trial and try the different views. Also dual plane tabs just makes this thing awesome.

You say that like I didn't try it out, like I'm resistant to it for some reason. I tried it, couldn't figure out how to add tabs, played around with it more, didn't like it, uninstalled it. The point of my thread was to get advice on root explorer, not switch apps.

True. Sorry about that. Your issue has happened to me. So I'm not sure what the cause is. I have many apps that do the same thing. So I know for me personally, it's not my device. Seems to be an issue with the app. Try to grab an earlier version.

Yeah that's the app, it's semi-regularly updated. I agree, it's likely not the phone, but on the app side of things to cause the issue. It's just weird that it works in 64MB increments.

[Q] How Can I Move App Data When Not Rooted?

I feel like I should know this, but then I always have root on my phone.
Is it even possible to move app data from a rooted phone to a non rooted phone?
try this :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.appbackup&feature=search_result

Read the app description. It says it doesn't back up app data or settings. It just backs up the .apk file, for installing. That's why it doesn't require root.
OP, sorry. In order to back up and restore app data, you need root. Root is required to access the /data partition, which is where app data resides.
Wow, that's a pretty good bump
Cheers though.

Tuner420, you need to stop that. Look at the last post date before replying to a post, dude. If the post is that old, chances are the question has been answered elsewhere, or the OP probably no longer cares.

Virus

My phone has been bugging out way too much, and i want to get a virus program. Which one is the best?
Its pointless from what I understand. There's no real "viruses" for android. Its just a battery killer. But if you insist, avg has a version.

If it's "bugging out" - have you confirmed it's malware?
95%+ chance it's not - Android malware is extremely rare (especially since Droid Dream variants were pulled from the Market). If you are not an idiot and don't install random stuff from the Market without researching it, you'll be fine. Installing any sort of an antivirus will just make things worse.
This isn't Windows where they're hacking a new security model on top of a fundamentally broken base - Android has a fairly comprehensive security architecture that usually works. (Right now there are no privilege escalation exploits for 2.3.6 and above to my knowledge, and even when zergRush worked, I don't know of any malware that adopted the same exploit.)

Okay maybe you should buy the apps? Instead of "borrow" them and since you download cracked apps you shouldn't post here about you're problems? Just saying.

What he said, and I will add, developers should be compensated for the work they do, buy the app. Don't steal from them, its not like they're expensive.

1. Buy the apps
2. Dont load cracked apps <--- This is why you had a problem to begin with
3. Dont talk about having or downloading cracked apps... because its warez and you dont even want to skate around that park.

"App Sale Alert" App?

I'm looking for an app that will alert me when an app I want goes on sale.
Anyone know of any?
never heard of such a app buddy...sorry
That would be a great app to have.. I hope they make it

Yea, there are a few that do this, Im not sure if they are still around, give me a bit (later today) and I will see if I can find something.
In the mean time, check if AppBrain has this functionality.
When I had my iphone (4 yrs ago) I had an app called "Appsniper". It watched apps I selected and alerted me of discounts.
Only if there was some other way... Wink!
Regular Play Store already does that.....
Just look thru the featured and the front page and actually read (cuz I know when I look in Play first thing I'll do is head to Apps section or just search lol)
I've gotten a lot of games and app that where lowered down to a real good price for a certain time then brought back up

Nice find. But why why why must apps like these need to possibly start at boot. That's one of my biggest pet peeves. No reason for it.

How else is it going to notify you of the apps that are on sale? Can't do it if it is not running.
Since I have apple and android, I use a site call appaggie. I use the RSS feeds to alert me.

I'd rather the app notify me in the notification bar or just when I log in the app rather than it start at boot... many apps don't need to run at boot but still push notifications to you. Draw something the game for instance...

Yes I get your point. Maybe it is a funding issue. Using airpush or similiar if there is one may be an extra cost to the developer. Hopefully it is a route that more developers will use in the future.
Im the developper of AppSales, thanks for your feedback!
Like Agoattamer said, the app needs the "start on boot" permission to start the service which checks if there are new sales(if you haven't disabled it). If you remove the permission, the service will start with the first app-launch.
Im going to start a new thread in the app-section in a few hours. Feel free to give me some feedback there.

How big is your sd card and how is it formatted? I had a similar problem when upgrading to a 64gb sdcard. Windows by default formatted it as exFAT. I believe that for the gnote/Linux to see a card it has to be formatted to FAT32. Windows (8-7) wouldn't do it but I found a free utility put out by the sdcard manufacturers association let me format it to FAT32. You Should be able Google it. The only downside is that it won't permit a file size larger than 4gb.

Actually, I sort of know how to answer it, but I've been consumed with a headache of my own :crying:. I've found I'm able to control the download location if I use Dolphin Browser to download. When the download starts, it usually gives me an option to confirm the default download location. It is easy then to browse to a different download location. I use it mostly when I'm trying out various ROMS and need to keep them straight.

[Q] Can anyone lend me the factory HD video samples?

What the title says. When I got my phone it had 2 super high def sample sample videos and I used them to show off my phone to anyone who wanted to see it. But then recently I reset my phone and I lost them. Kinda bummed. So I'm wondering if anyone still has them that can lend them to me.
I got the AT&T version. Idk if the other phones came with them. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks
They are posted somewhere in here. I remember seeing them when the device first came out.

If you can post a link, I can try to reencode them to divx/mpg to make them playable on any device.
I'm too lazy to do that, since they won't work anyway. You can find them here, though.
