How big is your sd card and how is it formatted? I had a similar problem when upgrading to a 64gb sdcard. Windows by default formatted it as exFAT. I believe that for the gnote/Linux to see a card it has to be formatted to FAT32. Windows (8-7) wouldn't do it but I found a free utility put out by the sdcard manufacturers association let me format it to FAT32. You Should be able Google it. The only downside is that it won't permit a file size larger than 4gb.

Actually, I sort of know how to answer it, but I've been consumed with a headache of my own :crying:. I've found I'm able to control the download location if I use Dolphin Browser to download. When the download starts, it usually gives me an option to confirm the default download location. It is easy then to browse to a different download location. I use it mostly when I'm trying out various ROMS and need to keep them straight.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass, I simply meant giving a newbie false information could cause him/her to panic and result in a million "HELP! Bricked! threads, and yes it is good advice to not screw with things you do not understand.
Point taken. I would like the op to be updated I am willing to bet its an ext2 lagfix. In which case there's no problem except that an ext2 fix is being used. But I agree hard to tell from the info given.
Btw I was not calling you a smartass. I was referring to myself.

What the H E double hockey sticks? Asking a question in the dev section. You info says a senior memeber. Senior member of what, society and your dementia is kicking in and you forgot simple rules? Come on for the love of all that is holy use the search as well as post in correct section.
Model is SGH-"T"959. Search is your friend and you will find that there have been instances of the SD card getting swapped in the CM builds which you appear to be running an Alpha of JB. Search the thread that you got the rom from and ask there.
How was that @Dougfresh?
Mods please move or close.
There's a simple fix for that.
Go into recovery
Go to advanced menu
scroll down into fix permissions
slam phone against the wall
everything should be working perfectly after that. let me know if you need more help!

I came across this app

I emailed the developer of the app and he said it worked on cm10.1 but I tried and amended the settings for the but didn't work so u emailed him about it and he said to make sure of settings but u got this error (look in screen shot)

Using swap is the only way I've heard, I think after too much use it can burn out your sd card. I read that somewhere. Dunno if its true.

swap decreases the life of sd card...
but
here is my question,
how long you are gonna use your sd card ??
better the class, longer the life..
a class 8 sd card may have 7-8 years life...
swap will increase the r/w cyles and hence life decreases.. (may be by 1-2 years)
it's not like that you are gonna use your sd card for 5 damn years
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
Man if it keeps on working for even one year, i will be damn happy XD. But please tell me the final ans. Should i do this? Plz help me out.

If you really need this - you should calculate how much memory you need for your apps... you can try even with programs that making swap image on sd card. If you will see no difference than you may just delete this program. Other way to increase ram place is just to kill / uninstall apps thats are not needed and taking part of memory like autoupdates and synch.
This is the reason why i like bareboned roms.
For about a month, Root Explorer has been moving files very slowly, regardless of source or destination. Internal and external SD moves are crawling along and it seems to be block related. It'll move until a multiple of 64, then pause, then eventually continue on. A 300GB file will sometimes take a few minutes, where before it would take a few seconds. It was last updated January 7th, but was happening before that.
Anyone else with this issue?

You say that like I didn't try it out, like I'm resistant to it for some reason. I tried it, couldn't figure out how to add tabs, played around with it more, didn't like it, uninstalled it. The point of my thread was to get advice on root explorer, not switch apps.

True. Sorry about that. Your issue has happened to me. So I'm not sure what the cause is. I have many apps that do the same thing. So I know for me personally, it's not my device. Seems to be an issue with the app. Try to grab an earlier version.

Yeah that's the app, it's semi-regularly updated. I agree, it's likely not the phone, but on the app side of things to cause the issue. It's just weird that it works in 64MB increments.
