Is it possible to increase ram, by swap or whatsoever
And please do not reply negatively. It is just a question

Using swap is the only way I've heard, I think after too much use it can burn out your sd card. I read that somewhere. Dunno if its true.

swap decreases the life of sd card...
but
here is my question,
how long you are gonna use your sd card ??
better the class, longer the life..
a class 8 sd card may have 7-8 years life...
swap will increase the r/w cyles and hence life decreases.. (may be by 1-2 years)
it's not like that you are gonna use your sd card for 5 damn years

Man if it keeps on working for even one year, i will be damn happy XD. But please tell me the final ans. Should i do this? Plz help me out.

If you really need this - you should calculate how much memory you need for your apps... you can try even with programs that making swap image on sd card. If you will see no difference than you may just delete this program. Other way to increase ram place is just to kill / uninstall apps thats are not needed and taking part of memory like autoupdates and synch.
This is the reason why i like bareboned roms.

Theres no need to be hostile to a newbie.
I was kidding about it being broken. Its good advice though. I really don't feel like I was being hostile. Smartass definitely.

Back up everything you have.. install ROM manager and clockwork recovery.. now start dowloading diffrent ROM and install the one you like best.. but before doing all this.. do some research and read a lot..

I wasn't trying to be a smartass, I simply meant giving a newbie false information could cause him/her to panic and result in a million "HELP! Bricked! threads, and yes it is good advice to not screw with things you do not understand.
Point taken. I would like the op to be updated I am willing to bet its an ext2 lagfix. In which case there's no problem except that an ext2 fix is being used. But I agree hard to tell from the info given.
Btw I was not calling you a smartass. I was referring to myself.

Oh. Sorry.
I dont know about you all but i am facing a critical problem. I download all good apps from app market but soon i discover that my phone's internal memory is below critical level and now i cannot recieve msg and mail. So is there any way to increase internal memory or to merge something anyways thanks for your time.
i am waiting for good answer
One more user who thinks that it's easier to make an account on XDA and ask a question than to USE SEARCH.
Root your phone and install app called move2sd enabler and then choose externel as install space and move all apps to sd card
link2sd
use link2sd
apps2sd
ore apps2sd
not all apps
do not move all apps, some can not function from your sd.

This thread is the prime example of
1: not searching for solutions, general laziness
2: making xda accounts to take and never give
3: irresponsible behaviour on top of selfishness in cluttering development sections
4: not the OP but I saw a TRIPLE POST REPLY and I **** my pants
Okay, on top of all these, a good brother is missing. I shall complete this useless thread by asking: "heyy evyboddy on xda, I ask pls the time cyannomod come 4 hour galaxy ace pls?"

What the H E double hockey sticks? Asking a question in the dev section. You info says a senior memeber. Senior member of what, society and your dementia is kicking in and you forgot simple rules? Come on for the love of all that is holy use the search as well as post in correct section.
Model is SGH-"T"959. Search is your friend and you will find that there have been instances of the SD card getting swapped in the CM builds which you appear to be running an Alpha of JB. Search the thread that you got the rom from and ask there.
How was that @Dougfresh?
Mods please move or close.
There's a simple fix for that.
Go into recovery
Go to advanced menu
scroll down into fix permissions
slam phone against the wall
everything should be working perfectly after that. let me know if you need more help!

Hi friends, when I go to my files icon and open it to explore the files on my sIII, off course it first show both internal memmory and external files (if you had an extension). when I going to open the internal memmory it had a long lag time and its very slow to the limit of (freez or near) in contrast to external which is very fast and responding rapidly. Nootably my internal memmory is 16 gb and it show 11gb total and 8gb free which mean its not fully crowded, while my external memmory is 32 gb and very fast as I mentioned. My phone on stock room and not rooted too.
Thanks

No issue with my internal memory. Maybe your phone is faulty. Perhaps you can try root it and flash custom rom.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
But what if I dont like to root it? Id like to stay within the gurantee. Suppose that I rooted it but the problem persist how could I go to the repair center?
Anyone has another idea?

Root it. If no good then use odin flash back to stock and send it back to samsung for good.

Choice .
One backup data and factory reset still a problem return to service center.
Two have a look for a Samsung forum .
Three join XDA Developers emphasis on Developers .
Your choice .
jje
If you think there is something wrong with the device don't even attempt to root it, rather just return it for a new one and see if it solves the issue, if it doesn't at that point then root and try custom roms.
Cheers.

Not being smart here but why do people come to xda if they aren't at least going to root?
What is there to do here without root??
Afaik you need root or cwm to do 99.9% of things on xda.

*sigh* he's obviously not an advanced user and in all honesty, you should at least consider that the phone could be defective with the way the build quality has wildly varied from device to device. however I do agree that people need to start digging on their own to try and fix the issue rather than waiting for a developer to do it for them

I have already given the user instructions but as goes for many they don't want to even try the simple stuff like factory reset .

This is the general section, not development. No need to answer like that. It's a legitimate question. It would have been easier to point him to the apps you mentioned. Not everyone knows about those. It's a perfect opportunity to teach someone without putting them down.
