Hi friends, when I go to my files icon and open it to explore the files on my sIII, off course it first show both internal memmory and external files (if you had an extension). when I going to open the internal memmory it had a long lag time and its very slow to the limit of (freez or near) in contrast to external which is very fast and responding rapidly. Nootably my internal memmory is 16 gb and it show 11gb total and 8gb free which mean its not fully crowded, while my external memmory is 32 gb and very fast as I mentioned. My phone on stock room and not rooted too.
Thanks

No issue with my internal memory. Maybe your phone is faulty. Perhaps you can try root it and flash custom rom.

Root it. If no good then use odin flash back to stock and send it back to samsung for good.

Choice .
One backup data and factory reset still a problem return to service center.
Two have a look for a Samsung forum .
Three join XDA Developers emphasis on Developers .
Your choice .

If you think there is something wrong with the device don't even attempt to root it, rather just return it for a new one and see if it solves the issue, if it doesn't at that point then root and try custom roms.
Cheers.

*sigh* he's obviously not an advanced user and in all honesty, you should at least consider that the phone could be defective with the way the build quality has wildly varied from device to device. however I do agree that people need to start digging on their own to try and fix the issue rather than waiting for a developer to do it for them

I have been told by a friend who had a look at my phone as it will not switch on after I tried to root the phone.
I have been told that I put on the wrong OS on the phone & it has messed up the battery partition, so the phone thinks it has low battery power, thus will not switch on.
Is there anything I can do about this by unblocking it & if I can, could anyone tell me how to do it?
Thanks.
Thanks, you made me laugh (I genuinely laughed out loud reading your post, sorry).
No, you've broken your phone.
For this thing PM a developer they would be the right people to help I out

Charge the battery in a separate outlet for some time, try booting into download mode, if by chance you get it then you are saved. Just download any official ics roms and flash it via odin

This is terrible advice...
Sounds like you are suggesting that he PM a random dev for help when it appears like he flashed a firmware meant for a different phone.
Most of the time this happens, and the phone no longer boots AT ALL (as mentioned by the OP), then no one here is going to be able to help. It will usually require Jtag repair.

You should read the XDA developers rules .
This is not a fix my phone forum .

I think the easiest option for me is to return the phone to my mobile provider (which they want £150 to give me a totally new replacement handset), which I don't think is that bad really.
I don't have another device to charge the battery up on, but I'm still thinking that it will still tell me that it has a low battery to download when put in download mode (which is what it is doing at moment, even though battery is fully charged).

You clearly weren't paying attention when it was said that no amount of help via this site would make a difference for the OP anyways. From his post, it sounds like he (or someone else) had flashed a firmware meant for a different device to his phone, and it now does not boot. That requires either Jtag repair or a motherboard replacement. Neither of which is possible over the internet.
And you seem to think this forum is some kind of tech support forum. Which, while people who are NOT paid are often kind enough to help out people who are having trouble with their devices, it is NOT. It is a developer's forum. Maybe you should give this a read.

Samsung offer a two year limited warranty .
Vendor usually twelve months warranty in the UK .
But as phone has been rooted all warranty null and void .
Flashing the wrong firmware likewise .
Custom rom the same custom rom counter above zero the same
So sales of goods act does not apply has phone has been modified by the user .
Custom rom root etc warranty voided see well posted letter to service centres from Samsung .

Pretty much any method is fairly streamline now. There's a root toolkit that does all the work for you, all you have to do is enter in a number that relates to the command when you run it. Be certain you are using the proper root method for your carrier and follow all instructions carefully.
Tripping the flash counter happens when you flash your recovery via odin. It triggers the built in counter in download mode to show that you have "tampered" with the device, and therefor can be refused warranty work. To avoid this, use either ADB through command line, or terminal emulator.

I agree that there is a lot of posts all over the place but to all fairness, there is posts in this same section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722344 that shows you exactly what to do to root.
I agree that you NEED TO READ. If you aren't willing to do the research you're going to have an expensive brick instead of an amazing phone running Jelly Bean roms or whatever you choose.
Also, don't just rely on one thread. Read multiple so you see opinions and suggestions.

Don't think it matters if you trip the flash counter any more there's an app to get rid of it Triangle Away. Also be careful many people have Lost there Imei# and now have a very expensive mp3 player. Might be a good idea to wait until they figure out how to back up imei first.

It is pretty straight forward. Make sure you have the drivers installed before rooting. In short, follow the instructions to the point. If you are worried about tripping your flash counter, there is a specific root method you follow. If you do not care, then you can use the tool kit. If you look through the posts in the development section, you will easily find it. PM me if you need help.

I wanna know the same thing.. woke up to it this morning. Great question.
No one is asking you to update to kitkat, that version is not released by Samsung for the S3.
Only way to update if you are rooted is flashing or kies.
It's all in the general forum, sticky threads, go read and learn.

You both need to read and learn instead of asking for an easy answer, which won't help you if you brick it through ignorance. You need to follow xda rules, search before posting.

I think he gets that. It seems to me he is asking what he is to make sure his device can not be back door if he is running his rom.
I don't understand why people act the way they do over simple questions. There is no reason for all the attitude. Isn't this site for helping people further understand the way something works or just helping other out?

I think you miss the point.
Firstly, this site is a place to share and learn dev skills.
Secondly, because of the rules and the nature of the violation (GPL breach) you will find that the "....gone and never to be mentioned again" attitude is almost universally prevalent amongst senior members and up. It's just the nature of the beast.
The OP question has been answered so best to quietly forget and let the matter fade into history...........spot the subtle hint
Security has nothing to do with ban.. Every os has its potential security breaches. See Windows, java, flash, Mac os, even Linux have their security holes.
So xda is only focusing on gpl rules. Every work must come with sources. If not you're not admitted to go on here. That's all.
You know where to find the firmware, the place seems to have a forum, ask directly there.
Isn't this site for helping people further understand the way something works or just helping other out?[/QUOTE]
If they bother to read and follow the rules .
Simple answer would be to PM a mod in the development section and ask the question why has this rom been blocked .

Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (if you want format cache, data, system, preload and even sd if you want. I format all of those.) then flash new rom your internal or from external card depends did you format sd. Then flash gapps and your ready to go.

I had 4.1.1 unlocked and rooted. I reverted back to stock and locked bootloader updated to 4.1.2 and had a bootloop. I ran the no you verizon and it fixed the bootloop but it won't give me root or unlock my bootloader. I would upload my pastebin but limited due to little posts.

for those having problems with roms pre vramc3 and are having boot loop problems I would recommend getting a usb jig on eBay or Amazon or making one.

It'll save you a ton of time dealing with those finicky pit files and spending hours on Odin.
Then you can download whatever stock Rom and flash it with Odin!

You'll still have to use Odin and the pit files, all it does is boot your phone into Download Mode when you can't or have issues doing so.

Dude please stop telling people about JTags and JIGs on eBay if their phone can boot then there is a 99.9% chance that there is a fix or workaround for what they're experiencing...usually people are not explaining the problem correctly but even still this guy said his phone is working and he is up and running....straight to the point just please stop telling people they need to buy extra stuff without first trying to help them or fully understanding what exactly the problem is that theyre experiencing....i know you want to help which in my opinion is fantastic but even if you dont know the answer try and look it up for them or direct them in the right place for further assistence before telling them they need to buy something which in reality is just not the case

I posted that before shangrila corrected me. You're right, I'm sorry :/ I won't be recommending that at all. I think those were the only two posts I made about them. Sorry!

Its fine man it really is....most of the time if you can AT THE VERY LEAST boot your phone into download mode then you should be okay and there is probably a fix but you just have to find it....keep helping people man even just pointing someone in the right direction is a much much much better way to go about helping than telling someone to buy something that is very unnecessary.... Keep it up though man you'll be fine just please stop with the JTags and JIGs lol
So I reverted my bootloader back to 4.1.1 unlocked and rooted it again. Updated my radio to 4.1.2 now I feel like I have my phone again.
