Hisuite not updated - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi, I had an Hisuite update request and followed the prompts to update and it did not fully install, damaging the program on my PC running Windows 8.1 (out of preference over Windows 10). I tried uninstalling it, but it could no longer be found, so I downloaded the app from the websites, but every download and installer did the same and said there was an error and to click: 'retry', 'abort' or 'skip'. None of which worked and so the Hisuite was not fully installed and now does not work. None of the installers now work for me.
I can access the files on the phone through the explorer window, but it is not the same as using the Hisuite program and interface. It works, but I don't like the experience and management.
What can I do to resolve this issue to get the Hisuite app and manager on my computer again?

Hi, I experienced the same problem. Went into the window processes, killed Hisuite that was running in the background, after which I was able to do the upgrade fine. Hope this helps.

Maybe try turning off your antivirus?

[Q] Nook Tablet rooting problems

I recently bought a Nook Tablet running software version 1.4.0, and tried to root it. I was using Indirect's method, and ran into a problem. When I downloaded the USB debugging app on the nook, I was unable to run it. I tried to install the drivers and to then run the app, but that didn't help, either. I don't know if the driver installer was done incorrectly, or if there is a problem with the USB debugging app, but I haven't been able to successfully root.
Is it that you can't install the USB debugging app? Not sure what you mean by "unable to run." Don't worry, we'll get you rooted in no time!
I downloaded the USB debugging app using the built in web browser on the Nook, and when I try to run the file, I get an error that says "Unable to install: This application was not able to install onto your device. Please "Archive" and then "Unarchive" the application to try again." The downloaded file does not appear in the downloads section of the file browser, and I'm not quite sure what it means by Archive.
Haven't had this issue. My biggest issue rooting on Ubuntu Oneiric was getting ADB to read my NT.

Hmm, check again to make sure you're still on software version number 1.4.0. If you are and can't get the TGPS Launcher app to install, you could use others methods to root. You'd have to use an SD card. Here are two methods:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488035
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439630
Solved.
I used the first SD Card method to successfully root cuttincow's tablet. It now works as a normal tablet, not locked down and restricted. I expect to see many more posts from cuttincows as he explores the depths of android and tries to install new ROMs. May we welcome him to the community with open arms!

[Q] Zune shows 0M for Total Storage

I have a Lumia 710, did downgrade to Dload (asks to format drive when plugged into computer in OSBL mode), installed latest Rainbowmod, sim-unlocked, etc.. In the end however, I decided to stick with the stock 7.5 rom since it seems to be faster, so I downloaded the rom via Navifirm+, and installed it using Downloader.
Now, things are fine, except Zune is having problems connecting with the phone. It recognizes the phone, can do sync and file transfers and such, but it can't read the storage properly.
Total storage and Available storage both show 0M.
Due to this, the App Deployment tool from Microsoft does not work, because it cannot connect to the phone (It worked before the issue came up). Windows mobile center also can't connect to the phone, etc.
What is the cause to this and is there a fix?
I've recall reading somewhere about Rom/Baseband mismatch and such..
Sorry if this issue was brought up already by others, but doing forum searches didn't give back much.
Edit:
Problem fixed.
Went through the support pages on the Microsoft site, ended up downloading a program called Microsoft Fixit (MicrosoftFixit50577.msi), which basically just deletes Zune for you, then opens a webpage with the download link for Zune. Not so much of a "fix" I'd say. Anyways, it's Zune 4.8, and the package is 170mb, which is actually different compared to the one found on the XBox section, http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/Live/Partners/Zune. This one is only around 100mb in size.
However, I didn't want to download the 170mb package due to slow internet, so I just ran the old 100mb Zune package, installed it, plugged in the phone, and noticed that drivers were installed.
Everything perfect now. I guess it's still the drivers that are messed up.
I'm pretty sure I've tried re-installing Zune before and not fixing the problem. Maybe the Fixit program is a cleaner uninstall which gets rid of the drivers as well.
Note: The Fixit program complained under Windows 8 about unsupported platform, and does not do it's job. Booted up Windows 7 (dual boot is the way to go..), and it works fine.
Note2: Running the program in compatibility mode under Windows 8, the programs works OK.
Edit 2:
On my Windows8, I deleted the driver called "Nokia Phone USB" (I think), and Zune detects the storage properly now.
I had this issue.
I just went into HELP in zune software(upper right corner next to Sign In etc..)
From there i just looked for : "Computer doesn’t recognize your device on the Zune Software" - it's the 8th thing from top to bottom.
from there I just followed their steps and if that wouldn't resolve my problem,i would just hit the NO button, and they would tell you something else to try.I ended up downloading a software from them, that finally resolved my problem.
Best of luck !
If you have trouble into following that I've just said, just PM me.
You need to uninstall the drivers that came with navifirm. They prevent zune from properly interacting with your phone.

Thanks! This fixed the problem on my Windows 8. I deleted the driver called "Nokia Phone USB", and Zune detects the storage properly now. Can't recall if the driver came from Navifirm though, can't remember.
Had the same problem on Windows 8 after upgrading my Lumia to 7.8 with Navifirm and Nokia Care Center. I uninstalled the drivers that came with Navifirm and it worked fine again

[Q] Trying to Restore Apps with Data (.bak) to cm 10.1

Hello;
This was my first time installing a Rom. I was fed up with my phone responding slowly and in time jams.
1-The first thing I did was install cwm recovery v6.0.2.7.
2-Then use the S3 tool kit available in xda to make a backup of all except system apps and internal storage data and it was stored in a .bak file. So that games and other apps keep their info as it is a hassle to start from the beginning.
3-Installed CM 10.1 nightly used in the instructions provided here.
All is okay up to here.
4-Tried to restore apps and app data through S3 tool kit but it won't display the data in the phone. I did enable the usb debugging on the cm10.1 (by pressing 7 times on the build name to enable the developers option and enabling usb debugging). I had the same problem when trying to do the backup in step 2, but it connected through the adb mode. This problem is that when ever I connect a device via usb windows installs the driver so every time I connect my phone windows installs the drivers.
5- When step 4 did not work I tried to restore using Holo Backup but no use no able to connect through to adb mode.
I can access the phone storage but I believe the appropriate drivers are not running when using the restore programs even though they are installed.
So the questions are:
1- Is there a way to fix the connection to be able to use S3 unified tool kit or if any one has dealt with the same problem?
2- Is there a way to restore the .bak file via cwm recovery?
3-For future use; An app or program that can be stored in the phone to avoid the use of a PC. The app or program would back-up contacts, sms text, apps and app data into the virtual sd or cloud to avoid deletion when "wipe data/ factory reset" after installing a rom.
I look forward to your replies.
Thank you.
What drivers do you have? Have you tried Universal Naked Driver? That's the only way I could get adb to work on mine when running CyanogenMod

The image below shows the Drivers I currently have.
I used to have a lot more but a majority of them were copies of the same driver.
I had 2 other Samsung drivers but I also deleted them. According to an article that stated a fix to the problem is to uninstall all usb drivers except mouse and keyboard and reinstall the usb drivers of the device desired, but no success.

I tried to install the universal naked driver but no success. I followed the instruction went into the device manager and under the samsung android phone was the samsung android ADB interface which I uninstalled and checked the delete part. The pc requested to restart which I forgot to turn off the the internet which resulted in the driver being installed once it restarted. Tried a second and third time with no internet but when I uninstall and check the delete marker the pc does not ask to reboot. And if I try to update the driver with VND it notifies me that it is up to date.
Any solutions?

removed the .bak extension and placed it in the download folder of my virtual sd folder and pressed restore on cwm but nothing happened.
Could be because the backup is password protected?
Also tried to restore the file via titanium backup through the extract simple adb with and without the extension but only says analyzing file and remains that way for hours.

To clarify does the PC recognize the device while in twrp and the tool runs successfully? But you get one or a few of the above error msg's or an extensive list of apps that it cannot remove? Are you on a completely stock rom that is not already debloated?

I went to far as to reinstall samsung drivers, google drivers.
I can check adb devices and see it is there.
Also, this is without any modification to your batch file.

Did the tool delete any apps? The extreme option includes over 90 apps. How many "could not find" msgs did you see? Also, which twrp version did you use?

I chose extreme debloat and could not see any app succesfully removed.
I ended up using a debloater for the G900F via recovery, but it does not remove the Tmo bloat.
Anyway, I thank you for sharing your work.

The tool will not show successfully removed apps only failed apps.
Glad you found another method. I am just trying to understand why it works for me but not for you and another user so that I can either modify the tool or provide additional instructions.

I tried quite a few times. Installed TWRP 2.8.6.0.. I re-downloaded drivers. I did a system restore on my windows 7 64 PC to make sure no other programs were conflicting.
Might give it a try again later on. I really want to get rid of Tmobiles useless app.
Edit:
Reinstalled drivers once more, used a different USB port, and selected minimal debloating (since I already removed most of the stuff I did not want)
and it finally worked. No more Tmobile branded bloat on my GS5.
Thank you again.

I suspected that was the case so I have modified the tool to not run unless the device is recognized by the PC.
I can use "adb devices" to get adb to recognize my device when it's booted normally and usb debugging is checked (also checked always allow authorization), but when it booted to TWRP 2.8.6.0 and Mount system adb cannot recognize it ("adb devices" returns empty list) and thus the script cannot run (stops at the "waiting for device" part) . Any help?
Im having an issue with MTP not installing on Windows 7, tried many fixes and nothing is working. Really want to use this thing! Has anyone had this issue and know a possible fix?

Only thing that comes to mind are samsung drivers, try install or reinstall.
Edit: played around with it....connect your phone while in recovery to your PC and run Windows Update. It should give you the option of installing Android ADB Driver.

What I did is I disabled MTP in TWRP.
You disabled in TWRP and windows installed MTP? Because I tried that and windows won't even attempt to install MTP and phone doesn't get recognized.

I tried Samsung drivers first, then used Google drivers. Still after a coulple of seconds I would always get an error 10 saying "This device could not start".
Tried downloading MTP drivers from microsoft somewhere, and that did not work either so finally decided to disable MTP on TWRP.
But, the ABD device was still recognized after disabling ATP.

I get his at some point. Nothing on the net helped me.
I did a Clean install of a newer version Windows with formating C & everything is fine.
I guess that that specific version on my pc was to blame, because many users are asking about it.
