this is the S9 forum, there is a separate one for the S9+. Ill notify a Samsung forum mod to get it moved there, but the place to get firmwares from is www.sammobile.com/firmwares. there are 2 tools available to facilitate MUCH faster downloads called SamFirm and the Frija tool. Both are available here on XDA for free and they allow you to download the rather large files at 5x speed.

Good Day!
I just picked up a shiney new Galaxy S II from ATT (from my iPhone 4). I've had various Android tablets, and rooted many droid phones (including the Vibrant I had a week).
However I'm unsure which CF-root to use with this baby, and I don't want to brick it.
Under Settings, About Phone this is what is listed.
Android Version
2.3.4
Baseband
I777UCKH7
Kernel Version
2.6.35.7
My understanding is the CF-Root I need would use KH7, but I haven't found one (at least in the CF-Root thread, but its 200+ pages long!)
Any information would rock my world and save quite a bit of time for me!
Thank you!
Hey there
XDA created a new forum for AT&T SGS2 located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1301 I just did a quick check and see a few rooting threads under development you might want to check out. This forum is for the international galaxy s ii so you most likely won't find the kernel you're looking for to root here since its technically a different model with the soft key buttons and all. I believe Codeworkx created a rooting solution over there
Hope this helps
Thank you, not 5 minutes after I posted this did I find the link to the other forums! rock on xda!
I just got it... can u send me the link?
I have the same problem, do you think you can send me the link to download it?? thanks!

You may have mistaken this site for Samsung Support. It isn't.
Folks on here help out of a sense of community, they don't get paid for it.
The person you just told to feck off is very knowledgeable and answers a heck of a lot of questions nearly every day.
I am on the same T-Mobile UK network as you and have downloaded from here the very ROM you are looking for, although that has been updated since them. I could easily do the same search on here and point you the link, but would you know what to do with the file? Or have you already fully read the Odin flashing instructions on here?
My first time here was with the HTC Compact III, I read for at least a week all the stickies at the top of each section. When I was sure I wanted to flash a rom, I read and re-read the thread and was as well prepared as I could be.
I am deeply indebted to all those developers and the more knowledgeable on here, who turn my phone into something very special. The least I can do is search before I ask, because nearly every question has already been asked.
i know what to do

The BOKE3 was the origonal firmware for the T-Mobile UK SGSII.
BOKF3, BOKG2 and BOKK1 are revised firmwares.
The stock kernels are there if you have rooted your phone with a CF-Root kernel and then reflash with the stock kernel to get rid of the warning triangle at bootup.
The one you are looking for is not a T-Mobile UK ROM, but rather a Samsung Stock ROM for Europe. Flashing that would invalidate the phone's warranty (if you had to take it back to service). That said, that ROM is really old. For newer versions of Samsung stock ROM then look * HERE *
you are good

Hello,
I inherited a GT-I9100 that was on contract with Three UK from my brother.
He told me that he put a different firmware on it so he can use it with another SIM.
I was using the phone for a while and it seems very unstable. It often freezes, battery drains, etc.
Reading around the forum I think the best course of action for me would be to go back to stock firmware and get an unlock code. I don't get anything out of the "jailbreak" anyway.
Alternatively I would like to put on the stock firmware for Three IRELAND (I live in Ireland now) so I can the phone with Pay as you go Ireland.
I was looking around how to do this and I'm quite okay with doing techy stuff by instruction, but I can't really find a guide that explains it well and I also have problems locating the correct firmware and was hoping to get some help.
Thanks in advance!
Get the firmware from Samfirmware, how-to = stickied thread 5th from the top in Q&A.
Go to sammobile and fill in the boxes which will tell you which one you need.Get odin setup on your pc,then look at some guides about using odin etc.
Hello,
Thanks for the tip.
I've already tried that but I can't seem to find the Firmware for Three UK or Three Ireland.
Is there another source?
Thanks!
Three Ireland/UK firmware available @ Samfirmware.com as per my PP (I'm looking at a list of them as I type); you'll need to join in order to download it. Firmwares are available on other sites, but most of the links point back to Samfirmware's hosting provider. Download the rom you need, flash following the instructions in the thread I referred you to.
The firmware you need is on sammobile...I just looked.....
As was mentioned by mistahbungle, you need to flash it via Odin....you'll find the guide where he said it was.....
Good luck.

Thank you guys.
The main reason I posted here was that I couldn't locate the correct firmware.
Well, that's all on me - I searched for GT-I9100 Galaxy S instead of GT-I9100 Galaxy SII.
Mystery solved.
Thanks again! I really appreciate it.
Might be abit late but.. I would actually recommend this firmware over the Three firmware as it has far less bloatware; I9100XWLSW_I9100CPWLS4_CPW
I am fairly new to android world and I am having a problem with my samsung galaxy s vibrant.
Does anyone have these?
1. A .tar file
2. A .pit file
If anyone could help me get these it would be real nice, I've searched endlessly on the internet for 3 days still can't find it.
Thanks.

3 Days on the Internet? All you had to do is go into the Development section and look at my Repo thread or N00b's bible thread. They are in either one and both are stickied at the top.
***These are only for the SGH-t959 and not the t959V. How do you know which is which? Go into Settings>About Phone and see there or of you have the V version, you will have a front facing camera. If you do have the 959V, then you cannot flash these in Odin.
Let me know if either downloads don work for some reason and I will reupload to my Repo thread. Just quote me and I will get the notification. Good luck.

Hello, this is my first time posting on here.
I have an old Galaxy S3, USA version, T-mobile, SGH-T999. I was wondering how to update it to make it usable? From what I've read online the best way is to root and put in a custom ROM. The problem I'm having is finding the latest ROMs. Is there any way to find the latest official ROMs for the phone? And if I download an unofficial one, how can I know which will run well on my phone? Do I just simply get the latest unofficial ROM?
Lastly, if any one has any step by step guide or video on how to root and install ROMs it would be much appreciated as I've never done something like this before. Sorry if this has been posted before, I'm new to this site and have been having trouble navigating and searching old posts.
Thank you.

I suspect the reason that you haven't gotten any responses in the last day or so is that you are on the wrong part of the Forum! This is the area for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 9.7" Tablet, not the Galaxy S3 Smartphone.
You might want to take a look over here for the T-Mobile S3.
Hope that helps clear things up
