Why Is This Phone So Laggy?? - OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Questions & Answers

Snapdragon 855 & 8gb ram & still more Laggy than my old & ancient Huawei Honor 8x having the old 970 kirin processor. Google chrome is slow & Laggy. Typing on the keyboard is slow & laggy, Angry Birds from 5 years back is laggy as hell, any suggestion?
I've had the phone for just 3 days, bought from o2 store in the UK.
Anything I can do?

Mine isn't laggy at all, try bench mark the phone and make sure it lines up with some of the scores posted online to rule out any issues

What's that? After restarting the phone it helped but I shouldn't have to restart every day or two due to lag...

Mine isn't laggy at all, it's smooth just like my pixel 3 XL. Likely something you've installed or set the device up with?
Maybe a factory reset if it gets worse?

But very strange, brand new device just several days old.
Very minimal applications. Every day or two I must restart the device as the longer its used for the laggier it gets.
Even typing this message using Swift Key keyboard is laggy...
Never ever had this before with 20+ other Android devices. I've used much cheaper phones & even mid rangers being much faster.
I don't have any rogue applications. Any suggestion apart from factory reset?

I would factory reset and test. Once you're okay with everything, load one of your apps. Test.
This diagnostic route would be the best way to determine the issue.
Let me know how you get on

^ Thank you moozer, I'll do a factory reset & see how it goes...

As I thought even after a factory reset it's laggy as hell.
Web browsing is choppy, games and even texting.
I'll return the device & never again buy any OPPO product. I'll buy the Xiaomi K20 Pro having 12Gb ram & 512GB storage for just £380.
It's ridiculous having an OPPO Reno 5g having Snapdragon 855 & 8Gb ram yet laggy as ever.

That's annoying and such a shame. Return it to seller for replacement. Shouldn't be like that at all. Don't give up on OPPO - best device I've had (although that K20 is a bit peachy at that price. I paid £380 for 10x)

RMN2 Hard Brick, CM12.1

Hey devs,
for about 3 weeks I have been a proud owner of the RMN2 Prime until yesterday, when it suddenly turned off and died.
When I got the phone I started skinning it down with jaik's custom boot image and also cleaned it from unused apps. So far so good.
Now, some days ago I decided to switch over to danielpinto's CM12.1 , which is really awesome compared to MIUI. No problems either.
I also installed Greenify and Disable services to get rid of some battery hogs.
Yesterday, I was out of home whole day, had minimal standby battery drain, but really massive battery drop when recording a video (~50% to 25% in about 2min).
Put it in my pocket, and 10 min later it didn't turn on again. I thought it would be the battery, but apparently it's bricked. No charge LED, no PC recognition, nothing...
I tried to unbrick it via SP tool and some really unconvenient tutorials, but nothing worked. I guess I installed all needed drivers now, but SP tool doesn't show any reaction in the progress bar (the coloured bar at the bottom...I don't get ANY colour, nothing starts when I click the download button).
What to do?
The RMN2 is a pretty good phone IMO, but now also my first bricked one. I would be extremly graceful if some experienced xda devs could help me with this as I'm really desperated.
I'm from Europe and ordering a new one (if I'd need to) would take some weeks from now.
If so, have you any suggestions on which device might be a better choice? It should be in the same price range though.
Thanks for reading!
Best regards
If it is broken.... I guess new phone can be redmi note 3 pro.
Only thing I can think of is trying with a new battery.. (something must be wrong with it if it drained that quickly).
Thanks for your replies!

Well, after I used the camera the drain was normal again and stayed at 27%. I also removed the battery and directly powered it from my powerbank, but it never turned on or vibrated...and no LED...

The extra features of the 3 pro are not really attractive for me. I've found the Elephone P9000 Lite today and I think this might be great alternative. Or I give the RMN2 another chance. Not sure on this yet...

Wouldn't it be less costly to first spend 10$ on a new battery before buying a new phone? In regards to a new phone, I'd chose a Snapdragon 650 powered RN3 w/ a 4k mAh battery over the Elephone P9000 Lite any day of the week. My brother has one and it's an amazing phone. Of course it all depends of what you find important in a phone. What makes you go for the Elephone?

Really appreciate your thoughts, man!
If I could be sure that it was a battery problem I would of course buy a new one. But it really appears to be a hard brick (I tested it with the battery removed and the phone directly plugged to the charger -> no LED, no reaction) Also the PC can't recognise it anymore.
The RN3 might surely be a nice phone, but for me the fingerprint, slithly faster performance and the battery are not worth 60€ more.
I just stumbled over the P9000 Lite yesterday and it seems to have everything the RN2 has + more RAM, LTE band 20 and Marshmallow. Negative is the small xda community for it...
And today I just found Ulefone! Geez, almost the same company name, but whole different stuff...there are way too many china phones out there!
The Elephone is down for a Ulefone Power or Ulefone Vienna.
Any thoughts?
Btw FYI, my preferences would be:
- at least 3000mAH
- 5.5 inch FHD
- Android 6 (or via update) + maybe chance for N if it's not asked too much
- at least 2Gb RAM, processor level of RN2 would be sufficient
- I don't care about the camera quality at all
- less than ~180€
Does the phone vibrate when you plug it to the charger without the battery?

I got it from Gearbest and it's still in their 45 days warranty. I'll probably try to ask for a refund and order a new RN2.
Sending it back, fixing it, then sending it back to me would last monthes...
So I'll order a new one today or tomorrow, I'm just undecided between Ulefone Power or RN2.

Djeeeeeeeeeeeez thx a lot!! You've made me look at that Elephone P9000 Lite, then at that Ulefone Power (looks awesome w/ wooden back!) and now i'm considering passing on my RN2 to a family member and going on a spending spree (again) I wouldn't personally go for the Ulefone Power because of it's less than great MT6753 processor, 16GB (only) storage and Ulefone's custom ROM (planned upgrade to MM, but yeah don't think it'll get N).
I'm actually moving to China in a couple of weeks and one of the first things I'll do when I get there is go have a look at the Umi Super. Check out these specs:
- SHARP 2.5D 5.5 FHD display (Gorilla glass 3)
- Mediatek P10 (MT6755) @ 2.0GHz
- SAMSUNG 32GB eMMC 5.1 ROM
- SAMSUNG LPDDR3 4GB RAM
- SONY 4000 mAh battery
- PANASONIC 13MP dual flash camera
- TYPE-C USB / SD card up to 256GB / Fingerprint sensor / Dual SIM (shared 2nd slot w/ SD)
And when you thought it couldn't get any better, it comes with stock Android 6.0 (yes you've read that right!! it's a Nexus!!!!! ) and Umi offers a ROM flashing tool (Rootjoy) on their website and the tool allows you to flash a MIUI, VIBE, EMUI or LEWA ROM, made for the Super, to the phone
That is one hell of a crazy phone! Now I know in your requirements it says "less than 180e" and there is a time limited offer on Umi's homepage to get it for 179.99$ (not sure about shipping fees). Anyway, I'm gonna get it even if I need to shell the normal 249.99$ price for it (it's more than worth it if you look at the top class components they've chosen for the Super). So screw the idea of repairing your RN2, throw it in the bin (or put it up on eBay) and get that unibody aluminium one

Damn it, now there are 3 devices to choose from
The RN2 has a strong community, but bad battery..
the Ulefone Power has...ehm...power and MM, but is unhandy and has no community..
and the UMI Super sounds awesome, but has even less community and it will take monthes til it would be here with me!
Do you have a link to the 180 bucks offer? found it
And are you in anyway paid by UMI by chance?
EDIT: Ok, somehow got hooked by the Super Now the only question is where to get it fast and cheap
I can't stand getting along with my old Lg L7 for so long!

Not in any way., I only found out about Umi at 2am last night when I was still looking at the newer China phones xD You can go on their website and click on the Super promo on the homepage (Snap now) and it will show you all the supported resellers (Gearbest and alike + 1 shop on Aliexpress/eBay). The Aliexpress shop (Deal Home) seems to be the only one having stock already (there's a certificate signed by a Umi representative stating that Deal Home has the First launch exclusivity) and all the other shops won't be sending anything out before June 20th. I've taken a look at their flash sale system. First, you need to register for the coupon (which they mail every Wednesday to the lucky first ones) and then you need to wait on a flash sale day (there was one on May 23rd and the next one, which we'll miss obviously, is on May 31th). Only on those days, and at the following hours: 00:00, 03:00, 06:00, 18:00 and 21:00, can you get one for 179$. The 179$ phones will be shipped out after 7 days according to the shop. So this system 1) scks and 2) is not as speedy as we like.
But there's a second option. You can buy it in a presale (right now) w/o the flash sale crap for 219.99$ on Deal Home (there's a 10$ seller discount as well) and according to them, those phones get shipped out "24~48h after test well". Thing is, I'm not sure how true that all is since in the shipping option, it mentions "ships out within 28 business days" (but that might be a default aliexpress thing). I'd just contact the shop and ask how quickly you can get it (or the item is being shipped out) if you take the 209.99$ one. They have 81 gray ones and 97 golden ones left.
It is true that the dev community is pretty small, but how much of it do you need if they offer a stock ROM by default (w/ possibility of root, xposed, etc.) and many alternative ROMS as an option? The only thing they might not do (but that's the same for every other Android vendor) is to offer an upgrade to Android N. I checked their forum a bit and at least they're being honest and clear about it when and why one of their devices isn't being updated to a new Android version.
I just had a first look at the sellers today and at the moment they all sell them for about 190€ - 200€, which is still okay for me (especially compared to the RN3). That is efox, tomtop, Banggood and Gearbest. Aliexpress' Deal Home unfortunately doesn't ship to my country. But I saw that Gearbest also has this kind of flash sale on special days of the week.
They all seem to deliver from mid to end of June plus the shipping time itself. So it will be here in mid July at the earliest...

Ah the major downside of importing phones from China .. it takes forever to get them (unless you pay an extra 35$ for a DHL <8 days delivery).

In the meantime I ordered the UMI Super for 164€. I'm really excited, but have to wait until July at least, as it will be shipped from 25th June at the earliest -.-
And now I'm already wondering if I should send the Super right back to GearBest and buy a Vernee Apollo Lite.
I thought the Super would be the best of the best for this price atm, but when you see the Apollo Lite....
- Helio X20 Deca core (Antutu >90000)
- IGZO display that seems to be really power efficient
- better camera with better focus
and Vernee is said to get a lot of hours out of a 3000mAH battery. While the 4000mAH of the Umi might not hold what they promise...
I'm not really into the fastest processor available as you won't feel a big differnece in daily use anyway, but it still seems to be a better package overall.
Price ~200€, ~230$ pre-sale
I ordered aswell they working on the battery like the last update. Waiting for root =(

Little update and a question:
I'm currently pretty happy with the UMI Super. All I wish for is DTTW and a Wifi fix, but all in all a really decent device for that price.
Regarding the RMN 2:
It's a real shame that I cant revive it...so dead...yet so beautiful
I disassembled it and tried the test point method as a last resort, but I can't identify the test points.
Anyone knows where they are?
I googled, but to no avail...
Thanks everyone!

My new redmi note 4!!!

Hello, I received the beast! First impressions very positive,
When the activation wore MIU 7 something and immediately had an upgrade available in 8!
The X20 seems to be doing quite well with the temperatures, I mean although they set kept within reasonable limits the temperature. Also thanks to the guide here on Google play installation forum, and I was able to pass the Google play and the goodies (contacts, calendar, etc.)
I will come back with more details when the handle a couple 2 days .....
It is my first experience with chinese apparatus generally. But I was a holder of the following devices until now: galaxy s, s3, Note 2, S4, LG G2, Note 3, LG G3 - Note 4, Lg G4, LG G5

Well we have and say, after 24 hours with redmi note 4:
1. Beautiful gold, as I see it and the habit so I like more. Generally very nice design (tastes of course is what)
2. Autonomy, very good 6-7 hours sot comfortably without restrictions
3. Photo Quality just good (not compare in any way with famous flagship)
4. Despite very quick smoothie with exemplary, very good work in MIUI 8 (6.0.1)
5. Very good speaker on the G5 I maybe better. Sound from the headphones is also very clear and powerful (tested with headphones gavio metallon)
6. Display good (not sure amoled) with excellent brightness! viewing angles simply good.
7. The fingerprint lightning fast, more or less like the LG G5
8. Google play had to spend manually (easily of course)
9. The device has anglokineziki rom.
10. It charges very fast (not just counted time will come back)
11. I placed the first day nova launcher pro (all my devices that I wear always), which I can say sat very well, and what I mean? In G5 I eg with nova launcher there is a conflict with the locking device and the fingerprint unlock, in redmi note 4 not encountered any problems, do not expect .......
12. Now to the issue of cpu temperatures, the temperature that can do with mobile, keep very reasonable! I did not expect you to read the earlier X10.
If I stun sorry, but I hope I helped those considering joining the market of .....

Question: How is active battery life? Standby drain? Anything out of the ordinary with the X20? Since the first device with the X20 (ZOPO Speed 8) was so bad with it, I'm worried about EVERY device with the X20.

Great to hear. Turns out X20 isn't so bad after all!
Finally managed to get google play The battery life is great, only thing is that it charges pretty slowly but that could be because I'm using my old xiaomi plug which is lower output. Haven't had any problems so far but its top early to tell. Now I just need to wait for my bootloader to be unlocked
Been using it for a day now, managed to get pkay store and so far so good. Only thing is that when im watching videos on youtube or using CM browser sometimes the app will just close randomly. Not a big problem but it gets annoying when it happens often. Anyone else experiencing this as well?
Hi,
Tell me please does the Redmi Note 4 have NFC support? Some websites say yes, some say no.
Thanks

Brother same here everything is closing automatically and frequently.. Did you get any solution.
Ive tweaked the permissions, power saving apps, restrictions, ect...Everything I found that could be possible, and I still get apps automatically shutting down. Even the ones I've locked into memory. I think there's some big bugs with Miui 8 so far, and needs a little polishing.

Same. I tried tweaking LMK values too. I actually get massive slow-downs now, I need to regularly clean memory (even if I only have Chrome open since cleaning memory before - Chrome itself will slow down and lag really badly).
Hope it's fixed soon. By three year old Xperia Z runs MIUI better than this lol...

Agreed, I hope it is fixed soon too. I was very excited to finally have an official MIUI device, but this runs like I'm in a beta program.
Just to give a feedback about this phone. I've been using it for 3 days now.

S9 Lag?

Does anyone expect the S9/S9+ to go through a honeymoon phase and become standard Samsung: lag and micro-stutters? I am not sure if I can trust Samsung's software, but damn that hardware is amazing.

No lag here
No lag on mine. Works the same as my S8+.
It works better than s8 with filled ram. It is almost as fluid and fast as pixel 2 and U11 plus.
I had the S7 Edge and even after 2 years I never had lag. The only difference I noticed was the battery wasn't lasting as long, but that's expected.

Is that because of the Exynos processor and how Samsung optimizes their devices better to deal with their own proprietary SoC? I had issues with the S7 lagging with the Snapdragon model. I sold my old one off to my friend and he had to put nova launcher to get rid of the main lag.

It's Exynos yes. Also, I always use Nova so if the lag is with Touchwiz, I wouldn't know.

Ah, that explains why because many probably do that to avoid possible lag with Touchwiz/Samsung Experience. I am contemplating going with a Pixel 2 now vs waiting for the S9+ Snapdragon model to drop in price. If I get the Pixel 2, I am looking to get the Pixel 3 later on too.
No lag here butter smooth on my exynos version, coming from s8+,one plus 5/5t, Huawei mate 10 pro.
Feels really nice and snappy

My S9 plus is running smoothly.
I have had the S9+ for a couple of days and unfortunately, I am experiencing the classic Samsung Lag (TM). One the first day, the phone was smooth as butter but as days went by, I started to experience UI jitters and micro-stutters everywhere. I uninstalled a few apps here and there, removed Samsung Pay from the home screen, deleted bxActions which might be causing the issue, etc., but nothing seems to help. Others report that their phone is lag free which confuses me to no end.
I was burned by Samsung with the S3 and swore to myself to never return. But i decided to give the S9+ a try because of the hardware, and I am super disappointed by this. I might try and reset the phone but I doubt it will help.
no issues with mine, butter smooth. running for a week, with all my software installed. bloatware uninstalled/ disabled.

I've read other forums to do a factory reset. disable the Samsung apps you don't use. try that. it might help.

I did a factory reset before setting up the device, and transferred SMS'es, photos and call history from my old phone (OnePlus5). I even performed the 'wipe cache partition' which seemed to have helped but there is still a persistent micro-stutter almost everywhere. I am contemplating a factory reset but i am not sure if it will help.
Would it be too much to ask u to record a video of you going through normal apps on your phone, just to judge the smoothness on your end?

Unlock developer options and change these three things to .5 instead of 1
I'm with some on here with the scare of lag down the road. I have jump on demand so I'm not too worried about it. My s8+ lasted about a month before it started lagging and my note 8 which I still have has lag which started about a month after purchase.
But so far this phone is so fluid and fast I haven't even thought about my oneplus 5t at all and currently thinking about selling it. If this phone keeps this up I might finally be a happy Samsung fan since the note 2.
I know I'm extremely happy with night photos too.

Software doesn't "degenerate," neither does the hardware. It either works or it doesn't. No in between with computers.
If it slows down, that's your fault, not Samsung. The reason why it may "slow down over time" is because of you playing around with settings, messing around with package disablers (pro tip: this does absolutely nothing to help the battery/performance, it makes it worse), or you download ****ty apps over time.
AP actually mentioned this in the S9/S9+. It looks like with Samsung Experience 9, Samsung has sort of neutered the lag beast -- it started with the Note 8 which, apparently, is still snappy months later. So they're saying there's hope that the improved performance should persist through the S9 series. Here's what they said exactly:
"The Galaxy S9 is the first phone on sale to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 845 chipset, and as such, all eyes will be on it to see how the new silicon fares. (As a side note, we don’t have the international Exynos variant, and while that new chip does benchmark insanely well, there remain major questions about its real-world performance chops.)
My experience with the Galaxy S9 in the first week of use has been quite good in regard to performance. Of course, anyone who’s used a Samsung phone in recent years might tell you that while the phones are fast out of the box, that feeling tends to fade considerably with time - and I still found that true of the Galaxy S8. But it seems Samsung may be turning over a new leaf, according to our senior editor Ryan Whitwam, starting with the Note8: that phone has remained fast in the months since he started using it, and I’ve seen few long-term performance complaints on the web.
The S9 is already noticeably snappier than even a brand-new Galaxy S8 or Note8, and so I’m hoping that Samsung’s reputation for slowdown over time is one that we can finally get past. I’ll continue using the S9+ for a while after this review just to see how it ages."

The game changer here aside from a slightly more efficient CPU, is the fact that the s9+ has 6GB of RAM. That's gonna be the difference over all on performance. Right now I haven't messed with transitions (in developer options) or done any of the "Optimizations" normally recommended for a Samsung phone and it is lightning fast. I have the Snapdragon version too, not the Exynos. But it's definitely noticeably faster and I had the S8+.
Coming from note 8 this phone is running even more smoothly than my note 8. It's like butter!
I'm strongly leaning on getting the s9+ from At&t. The only problem is that it has a locked bootloader. I've been on the flashaholic routine ever since my first android phone (htc OneX). Should I just purchase the At&t version and probably never get root/custom ROM ever? Purchasing the unlocked version would still be affected since it's the snapdragon version. Would that version (SM-G965U) have s better chance of getting root etc in the future, or is the snapdragon s9+ just locked down?

Convince me to get the mate 20 pro (vs pixel 3 xl/ op 6t)

Hey,
After an upgrade of my HTC U11+. A bit stuck to be honest on which one to go with as they all have big pluses and minuses. I think my ideal phone would be the mate 20 pro hardware with pixel software.
Will give my pro's and minuses below, please feel free to comment and advise as you see fit.
Mate 20 pro
++ Big battery
+ Not bad price wise (especially with the free watch)
+ cameras
+ nice colours
- Lack of updates??
Pixel 3 XL
++ best software
+ great camera
+ great update support
+ great speakers
-- average battery life
-expensive
Oneplus 6T (based on rumours
+price
+Smooth UI
+good support
- camera probably wont be as good as the other 2
-speakers wont be as good
+/- battery in the middle
Out of these three I'd definitely go with the Mate 20 Pro. the Pixel is boring and too ugly and no features at all (I wouldn't consider it at all unless I absolutely need their camera) , OP6 is just cheap price but is missing wireless charging, QHD display, IP68, stereo speakers, camera will be just average, AOD display, desktop mode, raise to wake, knuckle gestures, secure face unlock, etc. But if you don't care about those, the OP6 will be faster/smoother than Mate 20 pro and maybe their underdisplay implementation could be a little bit faster but we'll see
I'm going through the same motions so can't "convince" you, but here are some additional thoughts.
*Pixel QC is still sub par. Quite a few hardware inconsistencies popping up. You won't see this with Huawei
*Pixel 3 speakers and haptics are FAR better
*Huawei software is bad for reasons people don't extrapolate upon
Question marks behind software updates should be removed. This is definitely a negative mark against Huawei.
Lockscreen is abysmal. Unable to expand, reply, or interact with any notifications
Background app restrictions are seriously annoying. Google photos will randomly not backup like your using an iphone. Services like android messages for PC, Mightytext, or Pushbullet will randomly stop working, Dropbox background sync won't work consistently, etc.
Huawei still isn't a brand developers seem to pay attention to, so bugs (think odd aspect ratio bugs) will take longer to get fixed.
*6T should be immediately disregarded unless cost or ROM support are of concern. Imagine you know this already.
Huawei hardware is beautiful, but the software and updates is a serious downer. (not just because it's a skin - EMUI looks fine visually imo) Ultimately, I think the ugly 3XL is still the better device for most..
No bootloader unlock, no root, no mods, no roms vs oneplus and pixel unlimited development..

I'm really hopeful that we'll at least get root...... I've preordered the Mate 20 Pro and will be selling my Pixel 2 xl, hope I don't live to regret it! Worst case scenario I'll sell it and switch...
Well Pixel XL 3 is trash. I returned mine after 2 days.
Oneplus 6T is a bang for buck type of phone
Mate 20 Pro I'm having issues getting one imported
Probably didn't help much but aye.

Great post, and for these reasons Huawei don't deserve £899 for their phone as pretty as it is. when the honeymoon period wears off you'll be noticing that lack of software support. I'm still debating getting a M20P myself, it would be easier if Huawei stepped their game up with software support and allowed the users to bypass background closures.

I think you hit the nail on the head regarding honeymoon period. I had (2) P20 Pro's and I loved the hardware/camera, but quickly became annoyed with the fact that EMUI just doesn't "work" as an android phone should. After using MIUI 10 on a Mix 2s for a few weeks, I would say that Xiaomi's derivative feels more natural to use. /sad

Do you know if these issues are still there in the Mate 20 Pro? That and Android Auto (connecting to a head unit) are very important to me. I don't believe that worked correctly on previous Huawei devices either.

Had someone on Reddit confirm that the lockscreen is still the same. Some have said it is a bug, but seems working as intended to me. (Been a "bug" since EMUI 8.1)
I haven't inquired about backgrounding issues. Not much point. This has been a thing with EMUI since day 1. (And other China OEMs too)
Thanks for the replies very helpful. I know the mate 20 pro is the best out of the bunch its whether i can live with EMUI. I had this in the past with samsung s6 edge, loved the phone but hated the software and ended up getting rid of it very quickly. I think if the pixel was £100 cheaper or had a bigger battery i would 100% go with that for the software experience.
The decision would be so much easier if they allowed bootloader unlock and custom roms would solve half the issues! Still no closer to the decision.
A couple of extra points
Mate 20 curved screen will be a pain for glass screen protectors so thats a -
Still cant work out if the UK model is single sim or dual sim! (says its micro sd expandable so is that where the extra sim goes)
I think the camera will be just as good as the pixel...in some ways better because of the wide angle lens etc. The pixel 3 probably will be the best point and shoot but I don't think either will dissapoint you
I've bite the bullet and pre ordered the mate 20 pro.
What really turned the tide for me is 2 videos on youtube, 1 a speed comparison against the note 9 and it smashed it, which proved to me it wont be a laggy crappy software (mostly)
and 2nd a battery drain test which it got nearly 7 hours of SOT which was 2 hours better than the note 9 and 3 hours more than most of the others.

yer the watch did help me decide.
What i dont get in the UK is its 899 sim free, the pixel 3 xl 64gb is around 850 yet all the contracts for the huwaei are coming out about £5 a month less, also helped me decide.

See i went with sim free but what got me here is 50 quid more for mate, and free watch and charger is 250, so basically mate is working out 200 quid cheaper and 6gb ram vs the 4 and this massive battey, when pixie 3 battery is sitting at 3400 compared to my pixel 2 xl 3500 with a smaller screen? Impulse buy but hey, if we somehow hate it, or cant get used to it... Swap or sell after few months right? It aint a new car xd
It's very easy : get the pixel 3 and then youll want to get the mate 20 Pro for sure!
Preorderd mine today. Can't wait to finish a day without worrying at all about the battery. That's the feature I'm most excited about, since every phone, at this price, seems to have a great camera and screen. Really not that excited that I'll get to open youtube a half a second faster than other phones. Also, EMUI can be improved with apps and themes.

Pretty excited about this as well, I'm pretty sure I will still average about 6000 mah a day, I almost always charge from like 50 to 90% using wireless charging while at work but for the days I forgot to wireless charge, the fact that even if I get home with less than 5% and just plugging it in for like 15 minutes (instead of like 40 minutes like my note 9) and being back to like 40% to finish the day is amazing.
I agree

Realme 7 Pro Performance issues.

Hi all, after using for 3 years my trusty Moto G5 plus decided to purchase 7 pro, UK version, using it for a week now. My first Realme phone, good specs. for a mid ranger, was very excited and it ticks all the right boxes for my daily use but there is one, my opinion major issue and Realme needs to address it. All the same apps downloaded to the new phone as I was using in my Moto phone, from day one I have occasional and completely random hang-ups of the phone, it can be any random action, browsing through the settings, opening any random app, once it froze on me even during phone unlock. It becomes completely unusable for about 30 seconds or more, cannot go back or go to the home screen, it just completely locks up. And of course I tried restarting the phone, clearing recent apps, I even re-installed latest build update file from Realme website (RMX2170EU_11_A.26). I also ran benchmark apps like Antutu and Geekbench 5, getting similar results as other user tests.
No difference. It happens every day and it can happen more than once, all random. With much higher specs than my old Moto phone (8GB RAM vs 4GB on Moto, faster CPU, Android 10 vs Oreo...) I did not expect that at all and I think it is not acceptable for this behavior for a brand new phone.
I am thinking of returning the phone unless someone out there has a solution for this, I would really appreciate it as otherwise I like the phone an I would like to keep it. Thanks.
Looks like some unoptimized app is causing lag in background, check assecibility service disable which you don't use. Check battery what are the apps draining

Hi Visma_2011, did you manage to figure out what caused the issue on your phone? I'm having similar issues with my Realme 7 Pro. And I also migrated all my apps from my previous phone so it is difficult to know exactly which one might be the culprit, if any.
Curious to know if you had your issues resolved.
Hello PakkaZA,
Sorry to hear that, I really wanted to like the Realme phone, and I did like most of the things about it, I would have used it for two or three years but no matter what I've tried, nothing worked and I eventually I gave up and sent the phone back to Amazon for a refund.
Went back to using Moto phone ,not the old one but bough myself a Moto G 5G plus. It has a better chip set (Snapdragon 765), but I think the main reason Realme kept locking up because of their clunky UI, Moto phones are near stock (Vanilla) android and very little of their own gestures and stuff, of which I am a big fan and never had an issue with freezing so far. And I am using same apps as before....I am just surprised that very little users have similar experience as us, it might be that only some phones are somewhat faulty?
Hopefully you will a solution. Good luck .
I have the same issue as you, for me when phone does apps updates through google play store, the phone hang up. my model is the indian Realme 7 PRO with android 10
