Help needed: Wrong magisk module - phone doesn't boot - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hello
Wile trying to install a magisk module (edexposed) I accidentally choose a different file (I dont even know what file I pressed!!!) and the phone rebooted.
Now it doesn't boot at all. It doesn't pass the "the boot loader is unlocked.(...) press power key to pause boot" screen!
I'm desperate!
What can i do now?

If for some reason I dont succeed using the pointed method, will I be able to boot my phone again by entering stock recovery and wiping data + cache?

In the event you still cant boot I'd suggest using the MSMTool

If the reason for not booting is a Magisk module wiping data will also clear that as all Magisk modules are stored under /data/adb...

or flash stock image ??

You haven't posted your model but try the insecure recovery images. That's how I fixed it over ADB.

Kyocera Rise Bootloop Please help!

I downloaded Font Installer on my Kyocera Rise and I attempted to change my font. Soon after installing the fonts it required a reboot and the phone is on a bootloop due to that. When i go to system recovery, at the very bottom it says: E:Cannot load volume /misc . Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like something got messed up with the mount point for the /misc partition, it can be fixed by modifying the mount points in recovery.fstab, but do not try this if you don't know what your doing you can mess up your recovery. Do you have a custom recovery installed? Try doing a factory reset if you only have the stock recovery, if you have Clockworkmod Recovery installed whipe cache and do a factory reset. If that doesn't work re-install the stock firmware for your phone.

Stuck at MI Logo after SuperSU flash

So, this is kinda weird and I don't know what's wrong...
I unlocked the bootloader by enabling the orm stuff in the developer settings and flashing a fastboot rom. Then I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP. After that I tried some roms (miui, cyanogenmods), but now I want to use the normal global developer version again. So what I did was reinstalling this rom which worked fine. Then I went back into TWRP to install SuperSU, but then I was unable to boot... Any ideas on how to fix this, or how to avoid the boot processing becoming stuck?
Thanks!

I am also stuck in the same problem with my Redmi 4A. I unlocked the bootloader, installed cofface recovery then installed supersu 2.46 and my phone is stuck on mi logo. I have got this zip file but don't know how to flash it since I cannot start my phone normally so how would I put this zip file in my phone?

System not responding

[Noob question]
I have a 2 year old Samsung GT-S5282 i just rooted a month ago, by installing CWM 6.0.3.7 and flashing SuperSU 2.07 in it.
I've installed a few root apps that "boosts" the phone's performance.
But a month later i tried rebooting the phone, it passes the boot logo, then it comes across a dialog saying "process system is not responding, do you want to close it?"
I pressed "wait", but then the system crashes and the screen turns off. I tried consecutive battery pulls, wiping cache partition, but no luck, it still crashes on the dialogue screen.
I reckon it's on the kernel, but i'm STILL not sure what is going on.
Can anybody suggest a fix? I really need this phone and i don't want to lose any data.
(I've backed up my personal files, i meant i don't want to lose any internal data that cannot be backed up)
Please.

I guess you are able to reach recovery mode. If yes, then u should connect it with computer. Try installing a custom rom (i would suggest CM11).
Step 1: Installing TWRP. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-star/orig-development/recovery-teamwin-recovery-project-3-0-2-t3435364
Step2: Installing a custom rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67870832&postcount=175

Um thank you so much for the suggestion.
But unfortunately when i try to boot to recovery, the stock recovery opens up, not the CWM i flashed.
I tried to flash a fix for it, but it also didn't work.
But i guess flashing a new ROM will be the last option i have, so....do flashing one delete all my data? And if so, can i restore all internal data if ever i'll back it up? Thank you SO much for replying.

Well, then try three button combo (volume-down + home + power) to boot into bootloader and flash TWRP with odin.
No, your files in internal and external storage are not deleted when you format dalvik, cache, system and data partitions.
Edit: volume-down + home + power (boot to bootloader)
volume-up + home + power (boot to recovery)

Okay thanks.
By the way what version of TWRP would work great? (I have XXANF4 stock kernel btw, i still can't access the main screen of the phone after booting up)
And if i wipe system and data partitions will it delete the settings i have on the phone (ex. WiFi connection history, Bluetooth transfer history etc.)?
Thanks again.

Dang it.
Wanted to keep it.
But thanks anyway.
I still can't access the phone. It just boots up, shows the lockscreen, then crashes and automatically reboots, then gets stuck in a bootloop.
I wanted to install a custom rom like you said but i cannot copy the rom files to the sdcard (the phone's still inaccessible).
Any more suggestions? Thanks.

Also, the reboot problem existed since i installed root apps, the system crash existed since i installed a custom launcher. (Nova to be exact). I don't know if that has connection to problem.

Do a factory reset
Go to advance and format system and data
Then flash Stock Deodex Prerooted rom by akshay
Done
It won't delete anything
Flash cwm for star via odin
Then flash twrp via cwm
Remove ur SD card and using a card reader copy ROM file into SD card.
Mount ur SD card
Then flash the rom

I mean, it deletes all the settings right? Like WiFi hotspots and bluetooth transfer history and every app i have on my phone. I just can't wrap my head around the idea that i will delete all of that just because my phone crashes on passing through the boot screen. . .

U couldn't mention what tweaks did u installed to boost the phone and what exactly happened.
So,all I can say is 'do a factory reset'..
Just flash official firmware. The problem was automatically fixed without wiping data.

What he suggested will delete the lockscreen password/passcode etc so you can boot the phone without any prompts. You do this within TWRP.

oh in that case, should I have to factory reset everytime I flash a rom through my TWRP? I use ZCX TWRP, so Lazy flasher is not required after rom flashing right?
you just need it once . to decrypt your storage

In the information about the ZCX TWRP I found below:
ZCX TWRP : http://forum.xda-developers.com/redm...persu-t3462448
- Based on official TWRP 3.0.2-0
- Patches boot.img automatically (Removes dm-verity flag)
- Disables forced encryption
Should I have to tweak anything in TWRP settings to remove this dm-verify flag everytime?

Are you coming from MIUI? If so then MIUI encrypts the data partition, hence the new ROM asking for a password.
Before you install the ROM, you must "format data" on wipe in TWRP, this is different from wipe data.
Note that this will delete all your data obviously.

Stuck in TWRP can't use Phone anymore.

No, i just get back to TWRP.
I'd reflash the rom. and then just reflash twrp and magisk...
All this can be done from twrp, just load the rom and everything you need onto an sd card then insert and get to it.
Just be advised, you may need to wipe your phone.

if ur system is not getting boot ..
than it will automatically boot in to recovery..
u have to be carefull..
flashing stock rom will wipe ur recovery also..
u should always keep a rom for backup..
i mean full rom..
bcoz some time it ask pin before booting in system..
which is not set than also..
at that u have to format data..
this is very messy things
buddy have to be carefull..
doing anything..
always take backup at external source.(laptop ,hardrive, pendrive)
if u dont know anything..
simply do one thing
flash twrp and transfer rom fiile in phone ..
magisk.
flash rom
than reboot again in recovery..
than flash magisk..
again
than reboot in system..
