Mission Touchscreen Impossible - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have this tablet from my Nephew to fix, he's just bought it and the firmware was freezing whenever anything ran on it. I Flashed it with a very similar FW, now there's no touchscreen, and although before everything made it freeze, the touchscreen was working. I've tried tens of firmwares, some work, some don't, but none of them fixes the touchscreen. If I use a mouse on it, everything works like a charm, and relatively fast too. I kinda gave up on finding a firmware because I've tried so many, I was wondering if there is a way I could install only the touchscreen drivers since everything else works in 3 of the firmwares I found.
Any help is appreciated, my nephew will be very grateful.
Brand: Larinos (never heard of before)

16gb Rom

A work around might be a otg cable and a USB keyboard\mouse @ least till you find what you need

That`s what I`m doing to test it, and it works, but this is for my 6yo nephew, I need the touchscreen for him.

On a lot of these no name or small name brands. It's nearly impossible to find em. I got a Nextbook and my firmware is all out of whack. The rotation is of 90 degrees. I ended up buying a second one to rip the firmware from and fix the first. Might be another option

In this case I don't think I will buy another one just to fix it, and I surely won't know anyone who has one of the same brand, but even if I did, I might not work, because although in the original firmware everything (including the touchscreen) was working, it kept freezing whenever I opened anything, the same might happen again

SDAII with tomtom 5.2

Anyone who got it to work?
I am using a third party GPS unit. It doesn't really matter what brand I use, tomtom allways states there is no GPS device. Offcourse the device are paired. I have tried all port configurations but still nothing.
I have a MPX 220 where everything works like a charm. I also configured a SPV 550 succesfully a while ago. But thing doesn't want to work.
I am reading a lot of things about a bug in the excisting ROM. I have the TE_TMOUK_101584_13145_0160_Ship.exe ROM on my computer (which I am goin to share) and am ready to update, but I am not sure this is goint ot solve my problem. I dont have the original ROM yet, and the 0160 ROM is older then the one I have. I am even wondering whether this is a ROM issue in the first place or not.
Anyone got any info on this matter...?
Thx

[Q] MID7022 TS Partially Unresponsive

I bought a 7022 with a partially-functioning touchscreen (only a strip down the left side of the screen detects touches). I don't know exactly what the history of the tablet is, but it was flashed with a non-factory OS. This lead me to believe that someone flashed the tablet with the wrong ROM.

if you have TS bricked 7022 by flashing lk.rom for other tablets, please try lk_hy30_androtab.rom. it should be better to verify camera type and build date first, but if you don't mind if it bricks much more, please try
DO NOT FLASH ANY LK.ROM if you have working TS or if you don't have proper lk.rom or if you don't want to brick your tablet completely.
if you have TS bricked 7022 or other EM73 variants by using FwTool app, it will not fix your TS. lk.rom doesn't erase eeprom for TS controller, so it will not restore contents of eeprom.

I loaded lk_andtrotab.rom from fun_'s website using FWDN but it didn't change the touchscreen problem at all.
I read a post (but unfortunately I can no longer find it) which described how to change parameters that modify the dimensions of the TS. Where/how can I do this?
If you need more info I'll do my absolute best to try to get it! Does anyone have any ideas?
I just found that the 7022 is supposed to have native USB mouse and keyboard support.
Neither will work on my tablet.
I wonder if the two problems (unresponsive TS and no mouse support) are related... Perhaps the drivers aren't being loaded? How would I go about finding this out?
I also have a MID7022 with only half of the touchscreen working. The left half works, but the right half does not. I thought my daughter broke it when she dropped it. I plugged a mouse in because of what I read here, and the mouse works fine. I was finally able to unlock it, and everything works from the mouse. I tried recalibrating it, but that didn't work. Has anyone else had this problem, or have a possible solution to this?
Thanks,
Josh
Strange... I just received my OTG cable and my MS Mouse doesn't work with the Kyros. It's a 5-button mouse, though, so that may be the problem; I'm going to see if a generic moue will work.
I did it with a Logitech g5. It has buttons everywhere.

[Q] inverted colours 4.1.2 and no switch back to normal

Guys, first of all great forum, excellect tools (like entons rootkit for A71 acer tablet) and splendid advices on many problems. I´m confident to find one for my current problem. If this is the wrong thread, please excuse but I haven´t found one for the Acer A71, so I went to the Android-Thread.
Okay, here´s what happened: I have a rooted (Entons rootkit) A71. Worked perfect for month now. Yesterday I unplugges it after charging. When I switched it on, the screen showed inverted colours. When I try to look at a picture or to watch a video, everything is inerted, too. . I allready unrooted it, made a factory reset, wiped the cache. I have digged into tons of threads in different forums. All that I have found was, that there is a switch you can find in accessability for changing from inverted to normal and back. But this one I do not find on my tablet. I ´m desperate now since I use my tablet for reading (which is still possible), for typing (which is no longer possible) and for videos (which is not longer possible). What to do now?
Datas: Acer iconia B1-A71, Android 4.1.2, Build Acer_AV051_B1-A71_1.25800_WW_GEN1, Image:Acer_AV051_B1-A71_RV05RC05_WW_GEN1, Image-P/N: FM.NLCAO.01Y, Kernel 3.4.0
Would be greatful for any answer.
Thanks a lot in advance.
I have just received this same tablet to repair with the same problem.
Mine would seem to have a damaged screen as its even inverted when in Recovery mode.
Maybe this is the same with you?
A quick google shows a handful of people with the same problem.
The device has some really poor design with the ribbon that connects the screen as some components rest against the quite flexible back cover.
So either one of these tiny components has been damaged or the device dropped and the screen has actually cracked along one of the edges.
What a pity the "invert colors" option is not enabled in the settings app as manually inverted images display fine.
If this was a high end device i'd unlock it and install a custom ROM and have a look into enabling colour inversion somehow but alas i'm not sure this little sucker is worth my time especially as the battery is on its way out now too.
Good Luck.
[EDIT] SOLUTION; it would seem my hunch regarding the crap placement of components on the screens ribbon cable was accurate.
Just found this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56422766&postcount=220
tried the soldering solution:

(feel free to do a better job than i did haha)
It works!
Normskilight thank you very much. It works perfectly!!. I could fix my tablet. For my it was a kind of miracle, jaja.
Thank you again!

STAR G9000 (Kingelon, MTK 6592) screen problem after flashing ROM

Hello,
I own a STAR G9000 phone, which is also known as STAR Kingelon. After playing a bit with it i decided i'll upgrade my 4.2.2 Android to 4.4.2, and decided to do a bit of research which resulted in finding a ROM etc. Once doing so i used the SPFlashTool v.5.1408.00, followed instructions, and everything went well without any problems. I decided to turn on phone and....
Rom worked, i could hear sounds etc. screen reacts to touch, but this is how screen looks (see attachment)
After this i tried a lot of different ROMs, some worked some not, but in the end the problem was the screen, always pixelated like this. Anyone has an idea what might cause this problem? I tried default stock ROM as well, but in the end it looked like that.
I'd appreciate any answer, or tips of what to do or not.
Peace.
someone who solve it please?
I think we're screwed... however if you find anything, let me know!
Michel
i have the same problem
i have the same problem i think is a screen controller, why? because the ROM we install maybe has a different screen controller.
if you could fix this let me know this is my email [email protected]

Not detecting SIM card, WiFi not working

Hello everybody,
I made this account specifically for this one problem, and i don't belive i've seen it before on this site. Alright, let me cut to the chase:I've had a Galaxy Trend plus for about a year and a half now (an oldie but a goodie) and i use it as my daily driver, mostly for emulators and WiFi. With one of those two knocked out, i'm desperate for help.
Okay, so all of a sudden it displays the no connection icon like a crossed circle thingy, and whenever i turn on WiFi, it won't detect it even 10 inches from the router. I've never had this error and i'm pretty concerned. My SIM card works on my friends phone, however. I've looked everything there is to look up, and i've done everything software-wise , which makes me think it's a hardware problem. If it is, is it under the warranty or not?If I can't make phone calls or browse the Interwebs, the phone is pretty much useless. If you guys have any suggestions or ideas, please help out an old Android fanboy
