Hi All
Been searching but cant seem to find anything.
Since forcing the update via zune i have found the battery life to be appalling. Doesnt even last a day without charging. Im using the same apps and same or less usage.
Befor the mango update (nodo) I was getting nearly two days before completly draining the battery...now i will be lucky to get 9 hours!
anyone else experience such issues...seriously thinking of going back to no do.

I have been beta user of Mango and recently updated to Mango.. and no I dont have that problem. Mine works same as earlier.
In my Mozart, mango drain battery much more then pre-NODO version even with sync set to manual, data connection off, wifi off, 3g off, location off, BT off and it drains more then 5% per 5hours during my sleep pre-nodo almost nothing.
well ive tried setting the sync to every 15mins as oppossed to as it arrives..so lets see if that helps...but it definately drains more than nodo on the same settings....i wonder if more is going on in the background than we can see...
I have the same issue- my first charge lasted 11 hours and i was sleeping for 7 of those hours...
well so far ive been going for 6hours and its on 70% so hopefully the sync timing may have resolved the issue somewhat...its saying 10hrs or so left...so thats a bit better than what has been doing since the update.
Charging my Mozart direct to a power point takes a shorter time to charge than charging through USB
As long as im not playing games all day my mozart seems to last all day if i charge it from about 12am till 7am when i get up for work.
can't say i've got this issue, i've updated to official Mango RTM and i find the battery is about the same. Wifi on all day, one push email account and about 1 hour worth of phone calls, some internet browsing, it's still over 50%
well i think the sync issue sorted it. after setting it to check every 15mins it held its charge all day. disconnected it at 8.30am and come 9pm it still said it had 50% battery left.
so all in all much better than the past few days where it would go into battery save mode by 5pm.
I made hard reset on Mango and after that I feel battery life is a little better.
Battery is steal strong !
for me the bigest battery consumer is data connection, when I turn it off battery live is a little bit better
based on my experience, my battery was definitely longer after the mango update. with nodo my battery cant last that long.
I just flashed to nhathoa's 5.01 ROM.
This is a problem I faced even before the ROM flash. Whenever I power down the device and connect it to the USB to charge, the device will wake up by itself. It seems there is no way to charge the battery while power is off
well ive been running the phone now for a few days using the new setting and all seems to be well...i can get away without charging my phone for 24hrs if need be so thats much better than the original 8hrs or so.
Maybe I mean...
GPS is allways on ...radio driver bug
SPL issue ?
is turning the battery saver always on bad for the phone? other than of course no push etc. i am just wondering if it will have an adverse effect on your battery if i always want to squeeze every drop of my battery.
I have tried many different ROMs and I am supposed to say, that it is different with every ROM... Finally I bought Mugen Power battery 1800 mAh. Standard battery wasn't able to last one day (12 hours). Now it is OK
Another thing... This ROM helped with battery... After flashing it, I have a longer battery life...

I have the same issue they said battery life has improved since Lollipop yet in the 36 hours I have had it I have had nothing but extra battery drain to the point I have just reinstalled Battery Doctor to kill unwanted apps running in the background and to examine what app will consume more power then it should

I am still trying to work this one out, removing Facebook app helped a little but not enough, Battery Doctor has also helped but only around 10-20% improvement from the sudden poor battery performance.
BTW I am currently running the Baltic generic version 23.1.A.0.690 of Lollipop 5.0.2.
So apart from the last resort of doing a factory reset it is a work in progress
my university
I think I may of sorted my battery issue but will know for sure in a few days.
I reflashed back to my providers Vodafone UK stock KitKat firmware and got the Flashtool to wipe the data at the same time I had to do this because for some reason I had lost gyroscope, accelerometer and compass. The I reflashed the Baltic Generic Lollipop firmware also wiping the data and in the last 24 hours since doing it the battery performance looks to be much better and after 5 hours from last charge I still have 1 day and 6 hours remaining
UPDATE:
Looks like I may of sorted my battery drain issue.
My phone had a full charge from 3am-1pm (don't ask why 3am when I wanted to go to bed earlier then that) after 3 and a half hours I had only dropped 4% and still had 4 days left and then had about half hour of game play using bluetooth to my PS4 controller and still have just over a day's charge left although with lower usage this evening will probably improve.
When I had first installed Lollipop beforehand I couldn't get more then 12-15 hours between charges.
I thing I have forgot to mention was a bug I noticed before wiping and reflashing with Lollipop.
The night I decided to wipe and reflash I had noticed 2 things, first was that the accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS stopped working and then the 2nd thing I noticed after deciding that I could wait until the next day to investigate the first issue was that even though the screen would turn off the backlight remained on which made me decide to do the flashing that night instead of waiting.
But I have been thinking that wiping down and reflashing back to KitKat might not of been needed and could of just wiped down and reflashed Lollipop which could of saved around 20 minutes but due to the first issue I thought it best to go back to a known good firmware first
15 and a half hours so far with 16 hours remaining,
So an estimated 31 hours since reflashing I think it is looking like this battery issue can be solved by doing a CLEAN FLASH of Lollipop
Hey peeps!
Got my new G6 two days ago and BOY is it a beautiful phone!
One thing though that I didn't expect to have issues with; the battery life is horrible.
First day I got just under 3 hours of screen-on-time.
Charged it and left it over night. Was at 94% when I went to bed and 51% when I woke up 8 hours later.
Can't be normal? I've tried resetting the phone, but I don't think it worked.
Left home at 9:55 and the battery was at 37%. Arrived at work at 10:33 and it was down to 31% and I had barely touched it during that time.
I'm new to Android so I'm not sure what to do next?
Help! :c
There's an issue with the phone sometimes draining for no apparent reason when it's sleeping. It's happening to a lot of people. Most likely it's a bug in Android 7.0 and will be fixed in the next Android update. For now I put my phone in Airplane Mode when I go to sleep. It fixes the problem and my phone only drains 1-2% overnight.
Let it settle for a while, at least for a week. You could try with a factory reset if you want, I didn't.
Now I have at least 4h SoT under wifi. I'm currently at 42%, after 19 hours from the last charge, and 3h45m of SoT.
Please bear in mind that 4G, traveling and low reception are generally speaking the main battery killers, and there is nothing you can do about that.
For those who complain about battery life of G6, Here is a short view
9am-5pm continuous voice recording with 1 hour break in between
Around 10-15 camera clicks
Browsing use BRAVE browser, disable chrome for better life. Use BRAVE browser which is based on same chrome platform but more efficient.- 2hours
Facebook app used 40min around
Twitter sometime
WhatsApp for around 2hours
Screen brightness between 35~50%
Two sim cards, one on 4g LTE
Screen on time 6hours 10minutes
Remaining battery-20%
There is something wrong with your battery. It should last about 5h SOT. Drain after the night should be about 2% with AOD disabled.
Something is draining your battery. Begin with turning off location services if it's enabled and see if that helps. I get minimum 5 hours screen on time and closer to 6-8 for the most part even when on mobile data a lot.
I've got the same problem. I'm rooted, have all sorts of bloatware disabled, running servicely and naptime. I've shut off my bluetooth and my location and I'm on Wifi. In the last 3 hours since I've unplugged my phone from the charger I'm sitting at 66% battery with 1 hour of screen time, 1.5 hours deep sleep, and 30 minutes awake. So I'm looking to get a little over two hours of screen on time. I can't think of anything else to do.
Look into disabling QuickMemo bull****.

I think there is not a battery problem
For me, It is surely a software bug.
I use AOD for all the day, 3 email account, WiFi and 4G on, many apps in background like facebook, messenger, whatsapp, telegram and other and I get 5.5hrs with 7% battery.
But only if I use the phone more than usual. Otherwise I got 3.5 hrs with the same configuration due to a big draining issue of the "idle phone" process.
Probably we have to wait the next big update hoping that it fixes everything.
I have oneplus 3t and lg g6 and htc u11 LG's battery is the best out of the three devices
I updated the phone with LG Bridge (there was no OTA updates available) and for some reason got a completely new firmware.
Not really an update but it installed a, what seems like, a firmware meant for the Chinese market. Had the Korean on before.
This *seems* to have fixed it.

The LG Bridge update didn't actually fix it. The problem was back after a while.
Downloaded GSam and realised that the Google Quicksearch Box was stuck in wakelock or whatever it's called so I disabled the Google App in settings and that did indeed fix the whole problem. My phone has been sitting at 98% for almost 3 hours now (haven't touched it obviously).

I've fiddled around with it a bit today, but the version installed from the Play store is still not working for me. Horrible battery drain.
I found a newer (beta) version on apkmirror that I installed and that seems to have fixed it. I've got the quick searchbox enabled and no battery drain so far. It's only been a few hours though but I don't think it's gonna flare up again. It should've by now if the problem was still there.

I've had a couple of force closes from the Google app and random battery drain at times that I couldn't pinpoint. Overall I've actually loved the battery life on the phone when the phone isn't reporting an idle drain. I appreciate the beta link, hopefully that fixes the problem I've had. :good:
Hi everyone,
I am really helpless and do not know what to do anymore. My S9+ (EXYNOS) is draining battery overnight, in 6 and a half hours it drains 10%, even if always on displey is set to be turned of between 23h - 06h.
I am on the latest BTU firmware, I have tryied every tip and solution which I found on xda in order to get it better but it is still the same. I turned of almost all features like sync, location and also set all apps to be power saving.
If I use the phone a lot, I will get 4-5 maybe even 6 hours of SOT, but if I do not use it a lot, I will have 2-3 hours of SOT in total of 16 hours usage.
Any help or tips? I do not have any battery draining apps installed.
When I go to check in the battery stats I do not see anything suspicius, it says AOD 2 %, Device Idle 2%, Android OS 1%, Android System 1%, Screen 1%, Device is passive 1%.
Now I am trying it with a all black theme but still no improvement
Now I am thinking on going back to factory settings, because it seems that my battery was better (at last a little) before I tweaked and turned of many of the features.
Should I try factory reset, and if it does not help what is your proposal?
Another thing is that somethimes my phone gets hot without any reason, idle-ing or normal usage, that drains then the battery a lot. In situations like gaming etc it does not heat.
Did you try the app BetterBatteryStats? It works also with unrooted phones, if you can apply some adb commands with your PC. This app will give much more details about your battery consumption, including wakelocks.
Alternative would be GSAM Battery Monitor...its free, but not as detailed regarding wakelocks as far as i know.

No I did not try it, because on earlier phones I used it but did not know how to read it properly. I will install it now and post tomorrow the results so you can help me know what is going on.
Now I installed it but never used ABD and do not know hot to give the permission with it. In facts I used it maybe 5 years ago, now I will install it and try again, it is not that hard.

I think you should factory reset it. I had the same issue and now that I factory reset it and left most of the features as is (but I disabled bixby) it's been pretty good. Losing around 1-3% at night and at least 5 hours of SOT when I use it sparingly with around 24 hours off the charger. If I use it heavily I get around 8-almost 9 hours SOT for around 12 hours off the charger with around 15% consistently.

Thanks for the feedback. You gave me hope!
First of all I will try to discharge it once to 0% and take all juice out of the battery, maybe the system bugged because I always charge it as soon as I get as low as 40%.
If that does not help, then I will factory reset for sure. If it helped you I have hope that it will help me also.
I factory resetted few times. It seemed like it helped initially. But it actually did not.

I have factory reseted yesterday, and my batter life now is much better. Got 6 Hours SOT with 24 hours of total battery usage. In betterbatterystats I do not see anything anymore that drains it.
I need to mention that I have reinstalled everything manually, I did not wanted to import any backups just to be sure.

Actually I got better battery life after factory resetting but after few days it again became like before.Repeated it ,same outcome. so said it didn't help . Manual apps installations, not taking help from Samsung swtich did nothing.

Then I think that some of the apps you are installing is draining the battery. I am just very careful at what I install, and I monitor the battery behavior after every new app.

Do not have such app installed.
All of you uninstall Facebook and get a descent battery life.... Stop blaming Samsung... Most of the drain is due to the apps you use and the permissions you've granted to them....
Facebook only through Samsug browser. Facebook and messenger is a badly crafted app. The author should be humbly. Disable his activity and close him in jail. Do not deserve anything else. It will never be better
Hey folks, see if this is the right forum to post this.
Like some other people on here and on reddit the latest Android 11 update C.57 caused a lot more battery drain on my device.
Before on A.46 my over night drain was about 2% which is good I think with Wifi on.
With Coloros 11 it can be over 10% drain over the course of 6-8 hours which is far more.
I have tried gather info from my phone which app is draining but it looks rather normal.
Even tried the adb command to force the phone get the phone to do the battery optimazation manually without luck, seems I have dont have the permission to make suchs commands through ADB with USB-debugging mode enabled..
However this morning I found in Settings>Battery>More Battery Settings>Optimize Battery Use
The whole list on every app there was set to "Always ask" and not "Optimize Automatically"
Now I changed every app to Optimize Automatically and will see how this affects the current drain.
I read somewhere that to the phone to get to this "state of battery optimazation" you need to have the phone in the right state to execute that which was Battery Full on Charger in idle mode not moving for a few hours.
So I thought if the battery optimazation settings where set to "always ask" (which it never did) this state maybe never happens?
Anyways feel free to share your battery settings and what Battery standby drains you guys got because I have been going a little nuts over this issue haha.
I wouldn't bother changing the battery optimisation settings, they seem to reset themselves.
I wasn't getting great battery life so finally did a factory reset. After a week the battery settled down and is now ok, probably around 5.5 hours screen time a day at qhd 120hz with always on display in from 8am to 11pm. I don't really check battery drain overnight, I will check it and report back.

Yes I checked them again now after you mentioned it and they do seem to reset. However now my phone seems to work how it should, currently 3 hour screen on and 64% battery left. Wifi at home all day. Also the standy drain is night and day better now. Maybe this was a bug in Android 11 that kept it from optimize the apps?
I have adaptive on both refresh and resolution and same Always on time settings as you.

Glad it's working better now. I do find the battery a bit inconsistent, some days it's great and others it goes down quickly. I've turned location off now as dont need it that much, I lost 3% overnight which seems good to me.
I really don't understand how you guys get such a low battery drain overnight.
On ColorOS 7 I had 10-12% drain overnight.
On ColorOS 11 it stayed the same. I have reset my phone, now it's about 7-8%.
This is with night optimization on in the settings. 5G disabled.
I always was able to get that 3% on my older OP 7 Pro. Even on my Realme X2 Pro, which had the same OS!
Also, my SOT is not that good. On mixed data/wifi I only usually get 3.5hrs SOT. After the reset its 4hrs now.
With 5G on it's unusable, even with good coverage here. (AccuBattery: 6hrs SOT, 57hrs standby, just very bad)
It's nice to have Dual SIM now with Singapore EX, but I cant use it, my battery just can't handle that.
I kept this phone just because the rest is awesome, but the battery is such a letdown.
I thought it was a SD865 problem, but I also had the Mi 10 and Poco F2 Pro as a secondary device without any drain problems.

3% seems good.
However I had a big drain again over night so gonna try to set apps to optimize again.
It is indeed very inconsistent

Yes I agree the battery drain is very weird with this OS.
Have you tried changing the settings in the battery optimize section? I turned on optimize automatically and then charged my phone full and let it sit for a while with charger plugged.
Try this and see if it gets better.
Its weird that the settings change after a while tho.
Just recently managed to use the phone and have to confirm ColorOS 11 is killing battery overnight, I have this for few weeks now so should be all optimised, yet still overnight is around 25-30% battery gone, my previous mate 20 pro was taking maybe 2-3% overnight so is massive hit. No notification is allowed, do not disturb on with wifi and mobile off, really weird is behave like something in the background was still on.
mine only about few percent but my battery life sucks at 4-5 hour ish
