Bluetooth doesn't work at all. It only shows MAC addresses instead of device names. Devices in range (e.g. a speaker) are not displayed and I cannot connect to anything.

I looked around and the common solution seems to be to disable the developer option "show Bluetooth devices without names". The funny thing is that, if I search for that option in the settings menu, it shows up:
But when I go to the actual settings page it's missing. Based on screenshots I saw, it should be somewhere below Default USB configuration, but I simply don't see it.
So my question is: how do I get Bluetooth to work normally, and related: why is the "show Bluetooth devices without names" setting missing?
I already tried rebooting and resetting all network settings, without success. I'm running Android 10 QKQ1.190828.002 with MIUI Global 11.0.4.0 Stable (QEJMIXM) on a Poco F1.
I later did a hard reset, didn't touch anything and went straight to the Bluetooth menu...: MAC addresses only. That "show Bluetooth devices without names" setting is also still missing.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey Folks,
I know this question has been around several times, but I already tried searching most threads that were listed with wlan problems: none seems to solve my problem. Most threads deal with router settings and problems with pairing devices with special routers.
However, my problem seems to be more basic: I cannot find wireless lan networks, no matter how insecure (or secure) they are. They simply are not even listed in my device. Not on windows 6.5 (duttys) nor on the most recent Stock rom and neither on android (mdeejay rev. 1.6).
I heard it might be an issue with the radio rom. Currently I use the latest Radio rom 2.15.50.14. My device has HSPL version is (2.08 - afaik).
For your information, what happend: my HD2 was broken after a bike acciddent and I sent it in for repair. After getting my motherboard replaced, I was no longer able to find any wireless lan. So I flashed the 2.15 radiorom (non-tmous). After the fist boot, I saw my wirelesslan at home appear only one glance, then disappearing for good (just flashing for 1 or 2 seconds in the wlan list of winmo 6.5). From then, all my efforts to connect to any wirelesslan were in vain. I cannot find any wireless lan. Trying to add a SSID manually, does not work.
Is there anyone with the same problem, does anyone have clous on how to fix this issue? I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance,
jokeR.
Hey guys, i just fixed the device.
So for others having the same problem my solution:
Obviously the wirelesslan antenna was not connected to the motherboard after I had recieved it from the motherboard replacement.
I had to open my HD2 and ended up like the picture below.

On the left side you can see the motherboard/camera/screen-device. Locate the camera. Right to the Camera there is a black cable that is connected from the platine where the camera sits to the motherboard on the lower part of the device with a simple snap.
That cable hang loose on my device, after connecting it to the motherboard, my wirelesslan works properly no matter what radio rom was used.
Hi everyone. My Nexus 7 upgraded yesterday to 4.2. Everything is running correctly except that all of a sudden, last night, I could no longer access Google+ or Google Messenger; instant upload (which goes to G+ stopped working); and none of my apps will update. When I try to refresh Google+ I get the following message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Hitting refresh only returns the same message. I tried logging out and logging back in and it will not take my log in. Instead I get an error message telling me that G+ is unable to connect to the servers. I checked my internet connection and everything is working correctly. In fact I have no problem accessing Gmail, calendar, youtube Drive, GVoice, Etc (all on the same account).
When trying to update apps sitting in the update list, I get the following error if I try to update them individually:
If I hit update all, all the updates fail with the same error:
By comparison, I'm not having this issue on either a Galaxy Nexus or a Transformer Prime, both running 4.1 (they both continue to work correctly).
I'm at my wits end and short of doing a factory reset and hope that fixes things I have no clue what could be going on. Of course trying to find someone to speak to at Google is like finding hen's teeth. If anyone could advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, really helpful. This is why I hardly post here anymore. You ask for information and some numb-nuts always has to answer with something stupid like "just root it".
I was actually wondering if you have root, I will never encourage people to root when a problem can be fixed in a different way. Upgrading to 4.2 doesn't have to mean that you did it using stock-software.
Found a fix (no thanks to AmeesingNoob). I had to purge the Nexus 7 of all the Google accounts (Settings -> Accounts -> Google Accounts -> select the actual individual account(s) -> open settings menu -> remove account). You can remove all the accounts and your device will still function. Now make sure you are on WiFi and add your Google account back: (Settings -> Accounts -> Add Account). once you do that several Apps (mainly Google ones) will prompt you to allow access. once you get past that, everything should be back to normal - no need to do a factory reset and no need to root.
Hi
I use an usb-to-ethernet dongle with the gk802 and would like to:
enable ethernet by default at boot
disable wifi by default at boot
#2 is no problem however I have trouble acheiving #1
At start up ethernet is always disabled and one has to go into "Settings->Wireless & Network->More->Ethernet" to enable it. Not very wife&kids friendly.
I wrote a script that waits until init.svc.bootanim was "stopped" then issues a
Code:
setprop ctl.start "dhcpcd_eth0:-h `getprop net.hostname` eth0"
However while ethernet work and I can ping and browse the web just fine, Android framework doesn't seem to know about the new connection. Various apps got confused (sshd says "no connection" and refuses to start). Play-Store hangs on "Waiting for network" when trying download large apps without enabling Wifi. Time-of-day goes back to Jan-1, 1970. etc.
The difference that I can see in "logcat" is that
Using the GUI, ConnectivityService is aware of the new ethernet connection.
Code:
EthernetStateTracker(2146): report new state CONNECTED on dev eth0
....
ConnectivityService(2146): ConnectivityChange for ETH: CONNECTED/CONNECTED
...
Without the GUI, ConnectivityService is NOT aware of the state change
Code:
EthernetStateTracker(2146): report new state CONNECTED on dev eth0
Also, in /data/data/com.android.provider.settings/databases/settings.db,
if wifi was enabled, "select * from secure where name = 'wifi_on';" would return 1
if ethernet was enabled, "select * from secure where name = 'ethernet_on';" would return 2
(What's the meaning of 1 and 2 in settings?)
Any one managed to get a persistent settings for ethernet on the gk802?
problem solved: in the script I use:
Code:
service call ethernet 2 i32 2
Hi bogolisk,
Would you mind sharing the full script you are using, and also some basic instructions on how to use/install it?
I would really like my ethernet to auto-start as well. Thanks a lot!
Kind Regards

I can't post the solution here because newbies are not allowed to post links. So you have to google for it.

If I can find out here awesome, but I'm trying to find answers about Virtualization settings on a Windows 10 PC (Gigabyte MB).
You ma;y or may not know that trying to ask a question at Gigabyte comes at a cost (time and BS facts about your system).
I digress, I am trying to run an Android emulator (tried a few and they all ask for Virtualization to be enabled in BIOS).
In BIOS, I go to CPU advanced settings and enable whatever it is that Gigabyte calls it (something else).
I reboot my system and then run which ever program ie.. LDPlayerm BlueStacks., etc... and it still says VT disabled.
How do I enable it on my Motherboard?
Gigabyte AORUS Gaming 7 Wifi with the most recent firmware I could find (F51d).
If not an answer here can you point me to a site that I might be able to get help.
Thank You in advance.
Frustrated in Mexico - James
Bottomline is I want to run a mock GPS as I live in Tijuana Mexico and work in San Diego CA.
Nobody needs to know that I am not in San Diego when I am surfing. Even with my VPN a lot
of sites still know I am not in the states. This is more than frustrating. I thought VPN was suppose
to keep anonymous, that is not anonymous. Again I ramble.
Thanx for your time, hope somebody can help.
How To Enable HAV ( Hardware Assisted Virtualization ) on PC
@jpr9845
Check for CPU-virtualization is possible. You do this by running 3rd-party app LeoMoon CPU-V"
If you get result as shown

then you can enable VT in computer's UEFI.
f you have Windows Hyper-V (an optional feature of Windows) enabled, turn it off and reboot the system.
Also make the Memory Integrity feature is turned off as well
Now enable VT in computer's UEFI:
Go to Windows Settings
Click on Update & Security
Now click on Recovery
Click Restart now under Advanced startup.
Go to Troubleshoot
Click on Advanced Options
Now click on UEFI Firmware Settings
Click Restart.

Look for something like an Advanced menu or tab. You’ll most likely find the setting you need to turn on under this. In addition to all the other things that can be different, this can also be labeled differently. It could be Advanced Mode, or simply Configuration like it is on my Lenovo Ideapad.
Finally, look for the setting which has Virtualization is its name and turn it on. Sometimes it’s named completely vaguely. For instance, Vanderloop. Depending upon your processor and other factors, these are the names commonly used.

I've recently faced a terrible and annoying situation and as I found also the solution I've wanted to share it with you.
After coming on and off from Custom ROMS I was in front of the situation that the Blue Light Filter was automatically coming ON even with reading mode completely de-activated from its submenu.
Usually got itself activated on white pages when scrolling web pages without any action from my side. Temporary solution was to manually activate and de-activate the Reading Mode and for a short period the the Blue Filter was de-activated until the first wihte page opened.
I can tell you that this yellow light it's very annoying in the middle of the day.
Tried several solution presented like:
- Factory Reset - no success. It works only if you don't set-up your previous back-ups on your phone, but this is no viable solution for me;
- tried also the solution with Google Play Books - no success;
I remembered that I came from an Realme device (that I regret selling TBH) that had a similar issue inherited from an Oneplus devices, and the solution to fixing the issue was using ADB commands. therefore I am sharing with you this solution in case you are facing same situation.
Sorry if the solution was posted before, but looked everywhere and harldy found it, therefore I save your efforts!
First of all you must have installed ADB Fastboot tools and execute the following commands (no root required, only USB debugging activated).
Open Command Prompt and starting typing:
- type "adb shell" -> ENTER
- type down " settings put secure night_display_activated 0" (without the " character) -> ENTER;
- type again " settings put secure night_display_auto_mode 0 " -> ENTER;
- Restart your phone, either manually or type "abd reboot".
This solves the problem permanently, therefore enjoy freedom!
It doesn't work for me.

Try this again after activating the Security Settings USB debugging mode+ USB installation under the USB debugging in Developer Settings!
it didn't work for me , no errors ; but the problem persists .
if there is anything else to try let me know .
