Hi,
Teclast T30 has a good hardware, but some reviewers say it has a bad touch sensitivity and a high touchscreen lag.
Are there any owners who can confirm the problem? Did the updates improve it?
Thank you!
It does have couple screen issues:
-slow screen refresh rate
-poor touch sensitivity
Flashing firmware somehow improves the performance.

Please install Touch Multitest and Screeninfo apps and share the values you are getting.
1. Touch Multitest - my average touch samples per second is 40. In my huawei phone im getting 180.
2. ScreenInfo - refresh rate is around 53.65 fps. Almost all phones are 60fps.
3. You can also use any drawing app like ibis and see if ink is lagging as you draw.

I have exactly the same values as you.
40 samples per second and 53.64 fps BUT I can't feel any real issue in real world use.
I haven't installed any drawing app or any other demanding app, but scrolling down or app using a web browser and typing here for XDA forum using Tapatalk is flawless and accurate.
The tablet is really fast and after using it for just a few hours, I can't feel or see a real issue.

Good to know there are no issues with your unit as I also got a T1P3 fw v1.04_20191108. probably just a software issue that can be fixed by a firmware flash.
Actually for basic use, no issues with touchscreen especially if you are swiping gently. But if you are used to swiping fast like flicking, there will be instances the screen does not respond well due to low sensitivity. and if you will use it for games like Call of Duty, it will not be a good gaming experience.

No bothering. I like your videos.
The behaviour is similar to me, maybe a tad better.
The distance between the finger and the icon depends mainly on the speed of the moving finger.
BUT, I'm pretty sure my previous phablet Chuwi Hi9 pro should have the same "issue" probably due to the huge surfaces of those tablets.
T30 is 10.1"
If you try the same thing on a Samsung or Huawei tablet of 10" what will happen ?
Also, smaller screen phones doesn't have that issue ?
I only have this device and I can't test anything else.

If I try this test on my phone, the gap between finger and icon/paint is not that far. I think teclast used a cheap touchscreen hardware to cut on costs. Could be fixable by a firmware update but I doubt they work on firmware updates.
Hello, I am about to buy this tablet. I see there is a problem with the touch sensitivity. I have checked videos and reviews and YES, it does have a lag. Has this been solved in any way? For example flashing a new version of the stock rom.
It has been said that the Chinese 1.05 solves this but it wipes the serial number, but luckily IMEI and NRAM are not affected.
On the whole. Do you recommend this tablet for USD 170/. (without keyboard) ?
Thanks in advance.
Will this hybrid firmware adjust the refresh rate as well or just the touch issue?

Thanks!
So what you're saying is you did not pre-order one and you hope it is flawed so that you will not be crying yourself to sleep over the lack of one right?

Even the best made things have small bugs that bug people. It's why people root their phones and customize them
Nevar this wil be the best tablet evar 111!!! and some junk.

My few nitpiksfrom a couple weeks of use
1. Sadly my unit is plagued with the WiFi curse. Sometimes works great. Other times it's really slow for a few seconds.
2. The screen glare takes some getting used to. I have yet to locate an anti-glare screen that's cut to fit the Prime.
3. Like I've read about the predecessor, the thinness of the tablet and the aluminum case make the edges almost sharp. It's not going to cut your hands or anything but it's a little uncomfortable sometimes.
4. Before the firmware update, I had problems with the screen keyboard typing symbols into web forms when i pressed the number keys. Firmware update fixed it.
5. Quite a few of the included widgets are buggy or just plain low-res ugly.
Not much to complain about overall. Pretty sweet little tablet when the WiFi works.

I just tested a 720p MKV video off the mSD card (Sandisk 32GB) and it worked great. No stops, stutters or video tearing. and of the course the picture quality on the IPS+ screen is fantastic. Couldn't figure out how to tranfer the file 3GB by the data cable so I just took the card out and put it in my PC card reader.

Wouldn't the WiFi issue be expected since you got an early/pre-release model? Considering that the fix caused a delay in shipping, it could be that the fix isn't/can't be included in the OTA update.
GPS Issues
Got my Prime last night (12/19).
One issue and that is GPS. It's not working. Cant find any satellites. Asus tech support are clowns and TigerDirect has indicated 7-15 days for stock to come in.
Except for this one thing (which is getting in the way a lot more than i thought it would), I like it. Solid build feel. a little pointy on the edges but bearable, responsive and i like the screen, things "pop".

ipad2 was the most famous for that. all initial shipments had backlighting bleeds. there was an outrage over it. people had to constantly return devices. some people went through over 4 units before they got a good one. until apple addressed the problem, whichj was very widespread.
I've only seen less than handful of people saybleeding issues on prime. n they seemed to come outta nowhere..lol way more praise on device still than negatives
I think it's way to sensitive.
Sometimes when I move my finger pass the screen it presses the button. It doesn't happen all the time tho. Just 10% of my typing, which is also happening now.
Thank you for your time.

weird, the default touch sensitivity is normal. may be either its not suiting your taste or your previous mobile is les sensitive.
Feels alright to me, but apparently Gorilla Glass 2 being thinner helps increase sensitivity.

Maybe you're right, as I can from the N8. How ever when I try to touch a specific key ONCE it gives me doubled press. And I think this should not happen.

a lot of folk here in Thailand seem to get this problem too
they said it's like xperia sola floating touch but worse
I suspect batch product replacement coming soon
I've noticed that it's very sensitive too.
On the s2 people were saying the sensitivity is too low. Now ppl are saying its too high...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
The OFFICIAL samsung said my hands were dry with caused extra static (in Thailand it's a bit cold and dry despite that it's a rainy season, maybe it's the air-con)
and that they recommended applying Vasline to my hands prior to use... which seemed to be pointless, that's a lil too much of "Design for Humans" don't ya think lol
I wish i could readjust the sensitivity like I could with my Acer Iconia Tab A500
Mine does the ghost pressing too sometimes. It isn't often, but my finger hovering over the display will activate it.
Sent from my GT-I9300
I tried the touchscreen with both latex and vinyl gloves and it works perfectly, so I guess it's really sensitive.
if you think it's very sensitive for you, then you can apply screen guard to reduce the touch screen sensitivity.

I only found gyro calibration and did that. I'm also on rom (Omega - ICS) but did not see anything on stock either. I remember on SGS2 there was option to calibrate where you had to touch corners and center.
It's not that annoying, at first I thought that it might be a feature - air touch
Or it might be that my screen protector does the opposite - increase sensibility. In any case I need to get new one because this one is not clear (its a bit matte) and colors don't show up correctly.
Hi - If I touch the screen *very* gently, it doesn't register as a touch.
Does anyone else have this? If your P9000 is OK, please let me know.
Most of the time it's OK, but it's extra annoying when I'm swiping a long word which gets split into two smaller words. I do have the screen protector on - Obviously I don't want to remove it just for testing, but I realise it might be affecting sensitivity.
Over the years I've had ~5 phones with capacitive touchscreens. This is the first I can touch without it the phone 'realising'.
Thanks, Richard
PS - I've enabled the 'Show touches' in Developer options. The accuracy is fine, it's just it's not quite sensitive enough.

yes, i have glass screen protector on my p9000 and it makes the digitizer less sensitive..
Thanks NX82. That's good news and bad news !
I want to have a screen protector, but sometimes the phone doesn't recognise/acknowledge gentle taps on the screen.

Yes. my screen also less sensitive with the screen protector, but i dont want to scratch the phone, so i rather use with the screen protector.. for me the less sensitive areas are around the edges of the protector.. but i can live with this problem. I know if i remove it gonna be okay again.. maybe possible to put a thinner folie on the screen and thats gonna be better. the protector glass is a little bit thick. probably this is the problem.
I also experienced a reduction in sensitivity after applying a glass screen protector. Without it phone always reacted okay, but with my protector the first miliseconds of my touch aren't registered it seems. I have more trouble typing and sometimes swiping lags. I have adjusted my usage and can live with it now though.
Yes a screen protector can make it less sensitive. But all I did was download this : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.shop4apps.touchscreenbooster.com
And then set it to super optimised and make sure it runs at boot and problem solved.

Well see how it goes and hopefully it does the trick. The p9000 glass isn't anything special. Don't want it to crack or scratch so we need something to protect it.
I have tried several touch calibrarion apps.
It seems like the restart is necessary to apply the new settings.

same here : no effect
I have the same problem but all the above apps don't work for me. I will try to swap my screenprotector for another one tommorow. Hopefully this works.
I've found out/realised that the bottom of the phone is less sensitive than the top, so compare the top and bottom half of the screen.
The top of the screen is *almost* as sensitive as every previous smartphone I've owned or used (mainly Samsungs, HTCs and various iPhones). I can just touch the screen without it registering, but only just.
The bottom of the screen is a lot less sensitive. When selecting (tapping) things, it prob wouldn't be much of an issue, but when I Swype using the 'keyboard', I get dropped letters.
A screen protector reduces sensitivity further (a glass one more than a flexible plastic one, from my experience)
R.

I just ordered a Pixel 6, which should be arriving in a couple of days. I want to do my best and locating any issues within the two week return policy.
From what I have read, most of the Pixel bugs have been fixed, and other issues some people have in other people don't.
Is there a way that I can run certain tests to see if those bugs are impacting my phone on the network that I'm on?
That is, for the fingerprint sensor, it's obvious how to test that.. For items such as connectivity, that seems a bit more complex.
As I have work and other obligations, as most people do, I can't sit in front of my phone all day for 14 days to figure out what issues exist.
Are there some recommendations on what /how to test, to see if things are any issues that are important to me?
Thanks
ScreenTest; check the display. It should be perfect. That's the first thing I check.

Thanks. That's great advice for phones in general. And recommendations for some burn-in type test would not be bad, altogether.
I was asking more specifically regarding issues which people have with the Pixel 6, even at this late date 9 months later. For example, related to network connectivity and overheating.
Thanks

You're welcome. Sorry I can't give you more concise information.
Looking more for dead or wrong color pixels. Variations in color or greyscale, there should be none.
Test the cams. Test the phone, internet, bt and wifi. Test the sensors and fast charging.
Do the basics first as failure of these will cause a return for sure.
Fortunately you have the luxury of real users reviews now, months latter.
You don't have to dig too hard. Do searches on Google, use xda in search to pull up threads about easily on this site.

There have been more issues across the board with the variable refresh rate displays, not just dead pixels and not just Google. Personally I don't think the variable refresh rate displays are worth the trouble. They are extremely hard to accurately color calibrate as well; too many variables.
There been battery/heat issues too, but many other brands are having them as well. Android 11/12 are no gems. The scoped storage sucks extra CPU cycles/battery.
Take a picture of a blank wall and look for circle shaped spots. I didn't do that and now I have Casper the friendly ghost on every low detailed photo.

At first I thought that I had massive networking issues ... But then I noticed that both the 3A and 6 have Network issues when they are on within a few feet of each other. Even if the other phone is in airplane mode. Once I turned one or the other off completely, the other phone worked fine.
I need to get used to the size of this.. hopefully I can. Right now my hand is cramping. Any suggestions? I'm really used to using a phone with one hand.

Take a picture of a blank wall and look for circle shaped spots. I didn't do that and now I have Casper the friendly ghost on every low detailed photo.

Thankfully, mine seems fine in this regard.

Not sure. ScreenTest isn't working as expected.
It should cover the whole display.
Check to see if there's a newer version.
Get a good case and get use to using both hands. A case is needed to protect it. I use the Zizo Bolt but don't think they make cases for Pixels. The N10+ is not really one hand usable either but my eyes say the added screen acreage is worth it.

I downloaded another screen test and the color is stable across the screen.

Interestingly, I was expecting comments regarding network connectivity, overheating and the fingerprint reader.... Instead in hearing about camera and screen...

I haven't had any problems with my P6, but from what I've read the problems will be easy to spot if you have them.
Stay off wifi for a while and make sure you have a stable mobile data connection (not constantly switching between 4G & 5G, being able to pull up websites, watch videos, etc.). See if the fingerprint scanner works at least 8/10 or 9/10 times. Does the phone heat up in normal use. Can you get at least a day out of the battery under normal use.
I don't think you need to stress out about locating issues. If you have them, you'll know.

Exactly, you do have a warranty if there happens to be issues. If theres a big hardware issue, they'd do a recall if not there'd be a class action like the N6P, the $400 we got was pretty cool.
I ended up having some audio issues with Bluetooth in my car and some siblilance (letter s) issues, on hd voice. I ended up returning the Pixel 6 and bought a 6A. I do not have this problems in the 6A. My current plan does not have 5G, so I can't test against it. I need to spend more time with 4G and see how that does. The fingerprint reader, I think they even be slightly slower than the pixel 6. The screen seems okay as well as the camera.
Recently bought this phone coming from Samsung s22 ultra, most would say a downgrade!
I selected this for several reasons:
1. Flat 4k screen
2. Sleeker design
3. Notification light
I'm just concerned how small the icons are on the home screen and can't find a way to enlarge without enlarging the entire display.
Is there anyway of achieving larger icons without enlarging everything else?
Also can you change icons?
You can just install 3rd party launcher like smart launcher, lawnchair launcher

Matter of opinion, any factual decrease in speed and fluidity is barely noticeable, if it were then 3rd party launchers would not be as popular

Hey there. I don't know about the icons, but I'm interested in your experiences as I also have an S22 Ultra and want to switch to the 1IV for pretty much the same reasons ( and the headphone jack!).
How does the 1IV compare to the S22 Ultra?

Uh tbh no. Snap 8 gen 1 is killing the phone with its heating
Edit: I jump ship to s23 ultra. Can't stand the heating super fast. Literally can't open camera sometimes

Or do I wait for the 1V and see if the 8Gen2 chip is better optimised?
literally, that overheating issue is getting boring and most of all, way overblown. While true, happened to me only once. While I was visiting Petra. In normal day to day usage the phone runs cooler than XZ2 ever did.
@ Danmo-the-mo: If you plan on taking 300 pictures daily or filming 3hrs of videos daily, than this is not the right phone for it. But none is, that's why dedicated cameras exist. And smartphones are still years away from being able to do that job as good as proper cameras. I deliberately did not take it on a trip just to see what and how much can be done with the phone that is supposedly unusable as a camera.
And while I certainly missed some better shots, on a such sunny day I would need a ton of gear to get something much better from the camera.
