Buds+ Right Bud Disconnected - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Accessories

Hello Everyone,
when I preorderd my Samsung S20+ 5G a couple of months ago I received the buds+ with it and it was working very good so far. Yesterday, The right earbud decided to disconnect itself and it wouldn't connect at all when I open the wearable app I get the battery percentage for the left bud and case but it says that the right bud is disconnected. I tried uninstalling the wearable app and installing it again, the buds were on the latest software, I tried unpairing and repairing it to my phone and several other solutions such as tapping and holding one of the buds while in the case but none of them worked. Has anybody faced this issue and if so what did you guys do?
Thanks

I sent mine back in for an assessment as mine was with the left side, they replaced the left bud.

This is a very common issue with the Buds+... Many users on reddit have complained too... I too have this issue with the Left Bud not working... Later I found out that when placing on the case normally, the left bud wouldn't charge at all... So I had to take extra care and make sure to place the left bud first to ensure it's charging and then place the right bud after a few seconds.
I know this is annoying and I took it to Samsung service store. They said it's working as intended and it was my mishandling that made this issue pop up in the first place. You can try your luck with the nearest service center and if you are lucky, they might offer you a replacement.

I tried that but my wearable application still shows it as disconnected. Anyways when I passed by samsung yesterday they told me like a problem like that they do not bother fixing it they just change the entire bud itself but my problem was that I bought the 5G version from Saudi Arabia and I live in Egypt because it wasn't offered here so they told me that they want me to pay for the new bud which costs around 2000 EGP which is roughly $127 which is crap for a product that hasn't lived for more than 2 months so I contacted corporate samsung here in Egypt and I am still waiting for a reply from them since I am not able to send it to Saudi Arabia for it to be fixed. I asked them to extend my warranty to cover Egypt also not only Saudi due to the worldwide COVID-19 situation. However I am not positive at all because the representative on the phone told me that they would probably decline my offer and I would be forced to pay for it.

Watch the indicator light when you place each bud in the case. It will indicate the bud is making contact or not. Use a microfiber cloth or tissue to clean to contacts on the Buds and occasionally the case pins or whenever they have trouble connecting for charging.
A bud reset or network reset will solve none hardware issue many times.
Do firmware updates with the case open, they take around 5 minutes. Sit it on a table and have the phone nearby. Take a break... you want a clean flash.
Never interrupt a firmware update in progress, it can toast a Bud(s).
The menu in Wearables will grey out during the firmware flash to the Buds and go back to normal when update is complete*.
*This is how the Buds+ behave, just did a firmware update.
Took less then 2 minutes.

I had the same issue and it turns out my left bud was drained to completely 0 for some reason while my right one was fine. Just put the non working one in the case and make sure the charging light turns on and wait for it to charge.
For me, when I put the left back in the case, it would blink like as if it was charging and disconnecting. I had to hold it in place for a bit to make sure it's continuously charging. 2-4 minutes of holding it in place and after that it charged normally. It took a couple of hours to get from completely drained to full.
Good luck. Hope this helps.

Dont use wireless charging if you're experience this issue. Go direct into your S20 provided quick charger, let it fully charge for ~2hr, then do a bud reset.

Help With Galaxy S2 Problem - Problem with all galaxy s2s?

Hi well my phone randomly did this earlyer.
Got home, started making the sound when you plug the charger in constantly, even when the charge was plugged in and taken out again.
Turned it off to restart it and then a battery sign appeared on the screen alternating with a flashing tempreture sign and a warning triangle.
My phone wouldn't turn on again. Took the battery out again and then all my phone would do is put a circle sign on the srceen then a battery, still wouldn't turn on.
My phone randomly turned on 10 minutes later. But still made the battery sound just nowhere near as often.
Phoned orange up to get a replacement, and she told me she would arrange one the next day, she then said there was a problem with replacing them as there is a problem with all galaxy s2's.. or theres a problem with all the galaxy s2 replacements, one of the two.
So..what could be the problem with mine? and is it common?

Samsung just fixed mine for this same problem. Its a problem with the USB host. Basically bit of dust or moisture gets inside the charging port. They will fix it if you take it for repair, or you can do it yourself, if you search on this board you'll find out how.
Mine has now broke a 2nd time though since getting it back a week ago, as mine now wont turn on at all...
These phone makers should give up, or maybe i'm just unlucky.
Never seen this issue on my S2 which I have been using since August last year. I can't see the replacement having the same issue. Fingers crossed.

Its a very common problem. All over the web.
Ah I'm glad about that, this is my second galaxy s2 and I only got it in like September last year, so thought she wasn't going to give me a replacement then lol. I swear these are poor build quality... my last one had poor problems such as the screen not being level (Glass sticking up at left side) and problems like that which is just poor lol. Love the phone however...
Build quality seems to be very poor of these phones, which is ashame, because the phone itself is really really good. Like I say common problem, they will fix it.
Ah cheers, will try to go through Orange when they phone me back tomorrow as I dropped mine a while ago and it's got a rough bit on the corner so I'd prefer a nice new one
My build quality is fine and few users report your problems out of the millions sold .
Dust or moisture in any USB port can cause problems .

Mine started doing the same after less than a month, would make the charge dis-charge sound constantly and I couldn't turn the phone off as it would turn back on.
cleaning out the charging port temporary fixed the problem, but after a few weeks it started happening again.
I brought my phone on 12 Nov 2011 and I returned it to Amazon UK on 23rd January 2012 using Amazons extended return policy around the Christmas period.
I have had the replacement for getting on 3weeks now and this phone has been okay and I have noticed that the battery life is quite a bit better than the other one was.
I did contact samsung before returning it to Amazon but got a useless reply.

[Q] Samsung S3 Piece of CRAP!! Won't CHARGE

I know this thread had been on here already and i look for help but still found no resolution to the problems. So Please i am bringing it up again to see if any help can be offered again.
This started back in April, my phone suddenly stopped charging one day from any outlet, charger and even through the computer. There are times it charge but very slow and other times it won't charge at all. I have tried new chargers, batteries, outlets, rebooted and even had new roms in there. All did not do anything to help. I purchased this phone from Expansys- USA. The warranty was still good so I sent it in. The wait time was 6-8 weeks.
Those bastards at Samsung made me wait 3 months and I barely got it back this week. After 3 GODDAMN months in repair, it came back in no better condition than when it left. WTFFFF!!!!!
Now I am extremely angry for wasting my time like that. Since it came back, i have more problems than when it left. The phone now does not recognize any charger other than the Samsung Official charger. It will only light up the charging symbol from a Samsung charger or when i plugged into a computer. Other than that it won't recognize any other charger. Now the first day i got it back, it charged fine. Then a few hours later, the same problem surfaced and now i am back at square one.
Please help me, this is really frustrating and i have not found any solution anywhere on this forum or other sites. Even Samsung didn't do jack for me. Now my only options left are to get a new phone (which i do not want to) or replace the USB ports, and I am not even sure if it is the USB ports.
PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!
It is sad to hear that your S3 is not working, nevertheless be careful with what language you are using .
maybe this will help: https://www.google.com/search?q=S3+...xda&rls=com.microsoft:en-US:{referrer:source} ??
you could try to get back to the service centre?
otherwise, if you are not satisfied with Samsung buy another phone...
get a short, thick charging lead, this solved my charging issues.
Sent via TCP/IP
Thanks, but the service center is in the UK for international S3 and i have no contacts with them. Expansys USA won't give me any info.
Try use another cable, i encountered the same problem, i changed 3 charger but my problem was cable.
Okay thanks for reassuring me that warranties are not only carp in my country. Maybe your port need cleaning, also does your phone enter driving mode at random? As I had a similar issue.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Problems with electronic items aren't uncommon, failures with Samsung don't appear any higher than most other manufacturers but do occur.
Buying a model with no warranty service in your continent is probably best avoided, you might have been lucky but the chance of requiring a repair during the two year period is worth considering.
The phone is not a piece of crap Its just your unluckiness. Hope you get your device repaired soon

Did you try to directly call them?

I dont mean to offend anyone, I apologize for it. I mean to say that Samsung is not helping me out as it should. I have tried numerous cables and also clean my ports many times.
Unluckiness may be this time for me, but my issue is not an isolated incident. However, coming from a high tier phone like this is disappointing.
I have tried contacting Samsung UK who told me they handle warranty repairs through a 3rd party. I contacted that 3rd party, and i'm not sure if that 3rd party is the one Expansys-USA sent my phone too. However, that 3rd party said they don't handle international repairs -__-, back to square one. Now that i got my phone back, I really don't know what to do. I believed i have exhausted all my options and now trying to replace the port. But I don't see any issues with it, but i'll update after. I really can't afford another phone.
I had a recent similar problem with my phone refusing to charge or taking 2-3 hours to increase by a few miserable percent. This followed some slight liquid (beer) entering the reverse of the phone following a boozy night out that resulting in no recollection of what actually happened. I suspected the battery had suffered liquid damage and following contact with EE regarding a possible replacement on the insurance I paid for they refused to replace it (I never told them what actually happened). A week or so later I simply tired using another charger which worked without any issues at all. Reverting back to the original for confirmation, this did the same thing as before. I was fortunate not to have ruined the phone and/or battery and the issue came back to the charger. It's always worth a shot
WEll the phone finally wokrs now!! ANd the problem was hardware this entire time -_-.....i replaced the usb port and everything good again. The usb port didn't appear to show any signs of wear and tear either. Well now this is my solution for those with similar problems. thanks for all your help again.

insert a supported module to turn on your phone

after taking the module apart and putting it back the phone stuck not booting up with a message "insert a supported module to turn on your phone".
The issue I believe is not related to the module itself, since the same story with camera module.
The phone could have been exposed to the high humidity the day before. Before taking it apart the phone used to make occasional sound notification like it has been plugged in to charge.
Tried to clean data pins, disassemble it but no success.
I am having the same exact problem and I was wondering if you ever figured out how to fix it?

no, LG has told me to send the device for a service.
I'm on a trip and quite far from any cell phone store but I would appreciate on updates with your phone as well.
upd. I have a suspicion on two metal pins going from the module. if that's the module detector pins, then they might not be connected properly. blocking them w a tape on a working phone could shed some light on this theory.
My Experience
Thought I was the only one with this problem! My phone suddenly started constantly flashing the "USB" symbol with the "Insert Cable to Charge Phone" message and associated beep, which forced me to turn off the master volume...so I couldn't hear the phone ring!. The "Insert Supported Module" happened a few times at the beginning when I first pulled out and re-inserted the module/battery, but then mysteriously stopped. I went to an AT&T store and swapped the module with their display phone, and it seemed to stop (at least for the 5+ min I tried it), so I've been trying to find a replacement bottom module (I believe it's called the "Charging Module" or "Loudspeaker"), but to no avail. I tried purchasing one (SSTParts dot com look for "LG G5 Loudspeaker"), but that came without the electronic board, so I also picked up Ebay #282082091333) to go with it...but lo and behold, when I put them together and tried it, the phone gives me the "Insert Supported Module" message and won't boot. I then tried the old circuit board with the new housing, and it did boot up...but the flashing USB came back, at least for a few minutes. So I'm waiting to see if the problem comes back full blast. So we now know that the phone will only take an OEM part, at least regarding the electronics. Called LG to see if I could buy one, but they said I had to send it in for repairs...which I don't want to do (you know how it is with intermittent problems...). One thing I was able to do was to turn off the "Notification" volume (there are four Volume controls in the "Sound" settings; this is the 3rd one down) and it seems that this quieted the problem...so it keeps happening, but it's not causing me any functional concerns...though I worry that one day it might. I've looked at Ebay #401119970468, but though it looks identical, the listing says it's for an H850, and mine's the H820...so is it worth the risk? Any other updates or ideas out there? I'm thinking of going to the AT&T store and swapping out the display model's module when no one's looking...
I sent my phone for service. Hopefully I'll have the news soon.
Okay, so they they returned the phone back to the store saying "the damage is too expensive" and it's beyond the warranty. I'm pretty mad, will go to pick it up and see wtf is going on.
Won't turn back on..

Happened to me about 5 minutes ago. Try blowing some air on the module.. trust me it will work.
Also if no airdryer is handy, take out the module let it sit out overnight and reconnect few hours later.it works. It gives time to dry out. This is a major flaw.mother****ers; They owe us the G6
Air it out it'll come back at around half an hour, expect it to also have low battery power.
airing it out didnt work for me.
the only thing that worked for me was to replace the bottom part, ie. the charging module. I got one from ebay and it worked like a charm. My g5 is almost back in its new condition.
on ebay, search for Genuine Charging Module Bottom Chin
Fixed
My wife's phone had this same problem. I think it mostly dirty contacts that cause this problem. I used contact cleaner, let dry assembled and it worked great. These companies have you over a barrel when you send it in.
this issue is with the dumb bottom power module I have same issue but I am lucky that I had bought the LG Camera module that has this module built in, so I had a backup so to speak (other than I can't use my case at the moment) and Sprint no longer has the module, so I will be ordering these http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/282313529509?chn=ps&dispItem=1 (They look new and having a pack of 3 of these should be worth it.) hopefully this works for others too.
Thanks.
I have a doubt
I have in my hands 2 g5 phones
one from sprint and one from cellcom?fixme?
however I CAN NOT exchange this module among phones. If I do so, I receive the error which prevents booting.
But every module works fine on its phone
I talked to a friend who received a lot of these phones for sale
all from sprint, and he say he could not exchange this part in the phones and instead he had to mark every part to its phone to prevent accidental swapping.
I told to him it should be impossible to be this way, and came to this forum/thread to satisfy my ignorance.
any comments?

This is far far too late, I know. But those brass (I assume, as they are contacts which would need to be fairly durable) connectors you mentioned covering are 100 % the problem. I lightly, and I do mean very lightly, wet the pad of my fingertip and wet each of those connectors for the hope of conductivity. It worked like a charm. After around 100x of the module error, blowing with a blow dryer and trying to clean off the inner contacts blindly, it finally worked. I've had to do this on a few occasions now and it always works.
Hope this helps someone out,
regurak
I found the solution, you dont have to buy another one, it's just maintenance.
I tried doing some maintenance to all metal contacts I found and it's fixed right away, I assume this would apply to most if not all cases, some contact points are in the upper phone body, so no wonder why someone would get the error with any modules he/she tried. Let me know if it works for you but I think it will, you dont need to buy another part/phone.
Don't forget to hit the THANKS button.

Ok it's been a week or two after I dissassembled the charging piece and posted those pictures and all that and IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN LAST NIGHT. I noticed it happened because my battery was totally dead and I tried to start charging from my computer's USB 3.0, I remember it also started like this the first time, SO, I guess it's a software thing, not hardware. As soon as you plug it to the computer it will start taking energy, so, you know that even if you unplug the phone from anything, it will still show the error message supported module blabla. As soon as this happens to you, UNPLUG THE PHONE so it doesnt take charge, so, if it keeps showing the error message by itself and hopefully the battery would be so low that it wont show it for more than a minute before it shuts off due to battery. (I know you would say, well, just hard cycle the phone by taking the battery out and in again and try to turn it on or to plug to normal charger, I tried this but it would still show the error, even after I tried draining phone by holding power button without battery for like 1 min, only way that seemed to "reset" it was if batt COMPLETELY died, there's a point where if u try to turn on it only says like "battery too low to turn on"), SO, after battery COMPLETELY died, I plugged it to A NORMAL CHARGER and it worked it time.
SO, if battery is dead, I wont try to charge by PC USB for now
Just happened to my phone out of nowhere.
I kept getting the usb connection options message on my phone, then it just kept buzzing for no reason. So I went to restart the phone and now I'm getting the Insert Supported Module error.
I already know AT&T and our phone insurance will be completely useless. Damn phone isn't even paid off. The LG G5 was the BIGGEST waste of money ever. I hate this stupid phone.

Issues with G5

Hi all this is my first post,
I have owned an LG G5 September and it has been flawless. A couple of days ago while plugging my G5 out of the charger, the tap to change usb connection persisted and from doing research on the forums it seems like this can occur at random without much being able to be done to fix it. Since then I have experienced extremely high battery usage from android system and I have noticed that when going into the lock screen of the phone, I am given the prompt to scan my finger with a red exclamation mark, as if i have already tried and failed to scan my finger. However the fingerprint scanner does work regardless, what i have noticed is that when scanning a new finger in settings, the phone vibrates very rapidly somehow fully registering a fingerprint in less than a second rather than vibrating and telling you to change positions of the finger. Also the fast charging capability has stoped working as a result of my phone thinking its plugged into the computer.
To sum it up, is it really possible that a single unplugging of the cable can cause the above problems? Also do any of you think that replacing the bottom port and hence the usb port (the root of the issue?) will fully resolve all problems?
I have already:
Reset the phone to factory settings
Restored from backups
Put it in rice to remove any moisture
Please ask me if any other information is required to come to a possible solution.
Cheers
Sounds like either got wet somehow or battery defect. My battery got wet and was having same issues. Did you get it wet? Don't use it untill problem fixed. Water + electronic= rip

Either got damaged or water damage. Probably get a new battery will fix that. I'd be a little is hesitant using the phone if it is water damage, if I was you. Might wanna take battery out untill you get new one.

Well i ordered a new battery, should be here on Monday. I'll report the results.
Well I got the new battery, unfortunately this hasnt resolved any issues. Next step is to try a new bottom piece, that should do the trick if not rip G5 and money.

It has sth with usb socket in your phone. Look if there is some dust or anything. Clean it carefully with needle or sth while phone is power off. Battery drain is because phone thinks it is USB cable connected, when USB is connected phone can't enter into deepsleep state. If anything help try to replace this part which holds battery and have USB socket. I think it is still cheaper than sending phone to service.
Sound Problems
I have random sound problems since i have updated my LG G5 (H850) to Nougat.
Specifically some times the notification sounds not working. (fb messenger - sms - ringtone) Its like i have muted the sounds but all the sounds are enabled.
Also i have noticed that when this problem occuring when i try to watch videos from youtube or video streaming sites, its shows me an error message and i cant watch the videos.
When i restart the phone it fixes. It think its a software problem because i have not those problems at the past running marshmallon.
At the moment i am running official h850 20c update. I have tried factory reset but the problem insists on.
Have you ever noticed something like that or heard anything about those problems? (i have also a friend that he has the same problems with his LG G5 since he updated to Nougat)

Basically the story goes as this: I bought it from one of the biggest electronics retailers here in the Netherlands (Mediamarkt) and I asked them if they can carry out reparations and they said it needs to go to LG. So I attempt to sign up my G5 for the reparation programme LG has, only to be told at the end of the form that the G5 is not being serviced here anymore. I call LG's customer service and I was given the reason "due to extremely low sales the product is not supported anymore in the region", LG also told me that Mediamarkt has to carry out reparations because there is a mutual agreement between the two even though Mediamarkt claims they are unable to carry out repairs and no such agreement exists. So as a consumer I am stuck between these two big companies and the standard 2 year guarantee is basically useless, which is why I am hoping a new bottom port will bring everything back to what it was.

Yep I agree completely that it most likely has to do with the bottom port, I also believe a new bottom port will fix most if not all issues. I dont have many options anyway I need to diagnose the phone myself otherwise I've lost my money and device.

Aka you've been screwed over. That situation right there would make me not wanna ever deal with either company ever again. You should try to talk to someone at LG higher up, like manager or something.
LG tried screwing my brother over with a promotion. Well after talking to manager he got things fixed.

Go back to media markt and be a pain in the arse.
If you ask customer service nicely they more often will feed you with standard replies. Tantrums tend to help, sadly.
Double check how things are legally. Quoting the law also helps and or asking for a supervisor.
Good luck

Mate 10 pro Supercharging issues

Hi all
I bought my mate 10 Pro last week. And since the very beginning, I've started to notice that while connecting for charging (original fast charger and cable). the phone drops out of supercharging quiet often. Though the charging starts off with logo and animation suggestive of supercharging, after a while (within 5 minutes) icon changes to normal charging.
This happens at least once in four times I connect for charging.
These are the different scenarios I tested when I notice that phone shifts into normal charging:
1. I remove and reconnect the charging cable: resulting in supercharging, this may or may not fail.. often continues in supercharging.
2. I just switch the plug power off and on: usually goes into supercharging.
From the above scenarios, I'm not able to pinpoint where the issue is. Did anyone face the same issue?
Should I take the phone for a replacement or is this common for all supercharging phones.
Please help.
Hi there
I have a Mate 10 pro l29. I do not have this problem and have checked my phone constantly whilst it's charging.
This is issue is not normal. Check a battery monitor app like GSam or Accubattery to see the charging speed.
Post the results here for us to take a look.
I don't think it's normal at all and you should contact huawei to see if you can easily get a replacement.
Please leave a like if this helped!
I'm facing the same issue but not that often. sometimes even reconnect the charger won't work.. But usually will go back to supercharging after 2-3 times I plug in..

did u ignore your issue or did u get it checked?
I kinda ignore it.. these few days no issue
Btw someone told me if the port is wet the supercharging wont be detected. Maybe try to blow out the port?

I've had this too. When my phone was wet, I let my phone dry out for a couple of hours before it started to supercharge again...
Mine is doing this too. If I take the cable out of the phone, flip it, then it will start supercharging. Maybe this is a cable issue?
problem solved

By the time i took my phone to huawei it was already 20 days since purchase, so they refused to give me a new phone (new phones will be given only if we complain within 7 days of purchase). Anyway they offered me a new charger (supercharger) and wire. This solved the issue. Hence i can confidently say that the issue is with the charger.
I also decided never to buy another huawei phone (based on their attitude with regards to phone replacements).
cheers :good:

If this happens again with the new charger, please read my advice first:
I visited a Huawei service center today and the technician told me that this happens with a lot of Mate 10 Pro devices (Supercharge not working anymore, USB-C headphones not working anymore).
What causes the problems is dust/dirt.
The technician used a metal tool first and then compressed air.
Supercharge and headphones now work again.
So, if this happens to you, you probably have to clean your port, but be careful since you could break the port.
The technician also advised me to buy some sort of dust cover for the device so that this problem doesn't happen so fast again.
OTG , supercharging,headphones not working
