Gapps do not work on Lineage 15.1 SGP312 - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
first of all thanks to the developper for developping Lineage os on xperia tablet Z.
I have installed Lineage 15,1 unofficial pollux_windy (Android 8.1) on my xperia tablet Z SGP312 via TWRP, the operating system is working well. After that, via TWRP I have installed open_gapps-arm8.1-pico-20200501 without errors, but when I reboot, Google play services always start and stop, so I am not able to set google account and reach the play store.
Thank you for your help.
Eugenio
P.S.
Kernel: 3.4.113-pollux_windy-ga9bbb7d588b
The tablet is not rooted

Try installing GAPPS right after you flash LOS in TWRP (without booting OS).
If it still doesn't help, try an older version of GAPPS, as sometimes it happens, that they just don't work.

Thanks Rootk1t for your help.
I've already tried to install GAPPS after flashing LOS without booting OS, but it did not solve the failure.
I've also tried to install manually the followings apps (*.apk)
- google account manager
- google services framework
- google play services
- google play store
But I've got always the same failure and I've uninstalled them.
I am a little bit afraid with installing older version of GAPPS because with android 5.1 official Sony update, sometimes I noticed an abnormal battery discharge due to google play services.
So I've decided that I can live without GAPPS by installing the apps I need from alternative store.

As @Rootk1t wrote, older gapps, which should be understood older than the ROM release date.
When accessing the internet, google services will automatically update to the latest version adapted to the android version and device model.
If you don't care about Google support, you can try to install Lineage along with MicroG.

TWRP lost following offical buid Lineage flash

Hi guys,
I was running twrp 3.0.1-0 with the unofficial linage build, however once I flashed the office build I seem to have gone to what looks like a stock recovery (when you try to flash anything you get a white circle with various colours sliding in and out of phase). Whilst the OS seems fine, I can't seem to flash anything anymore, gapps, supersu etc even via ADB sideload. It will appear to flash successfully, but nothing will have worked. I can boot into fastboot still but that won't let me flash TWRP either.
I read that revoking that the USB privileges would help but when I do that I don't get any pop-up asking for privileges, even after I wiped it and flashed it again, via the stock recovery.
To be honest I could live without TWRP but without gapps (play store) I can't do much.
Any advise or help would be most welcomed.
Thanks!

Official LOS doesn't have TWRP built-in, and never had, as i remember.
Use opengapps app to install gapps. For root use SuperSU.
If you still need twrp, use kernel (boot.img) from unofficial one.

Data Encrypted - Pixel Experience Android 9

Hello Everybody,
I have so following problem with data encrypted in twrp:
I installed latest version of twrp
! Used MIUI 10 developer version and data was encrypted according Twrp (according to settings device is not encrypted.
To flash no new OS from Twrp I had to format all data.
After that I installed second latest (08.11) Pixel Experience and Magical latest version.
I rebooted system.
! No Twrp and magisk APK installed.
Manually installed Twrp and magisk APK
I can install adaway also (superuser is installed)
Problem:
System mentioned that there is a new version of Pixel experience (15.11) and I wanted to install it. But it didn't work -> Twrp stopped installation, because data is still encrypted.
To install latest version I formated everything again and did above steps. But again with same result... I can install everything (manually) and everything works without to install new versions of Pixel Experience or anything else from Twrp recovery.
I tried to encrypt my phone over settings, but after encryption the system freezes after putting in pin code at the start. In twrp recovery I have to put in the code too, but again encryption is still available...
I have no further idea. Could you help me? Don't want to loose all data Everytime an update appears
Magisk "force encryption" manually enabled. The other setting is not enabled.
Thank you very much for your help!!!!!

Can't flash GAPPs on x86 intel device.

Hi, I have an older lenovo tablet. There was windows 10 installed when I got it but it was very slow, so I decided to go with android - Bliss OS ROM. The ROM works perfectly there are no problems with it, but there are no gapps. There is MicroG but I could not get it working. The root is SuperSU. I already googled this but every tutorial/forum suggested to do this through recovery or flashify, or something similiar. But I don't have any recovery as there is classic bios and I could not get Flashify working. I also tried Magisk modules, but those did not work as well. I managed to flash Magisk manually through the official magisk x86 guide(can't post link) and it actually worked. So I started to wonder if there is not a similliar way to manually flash Gapps. I do not know what to do anymore so I turned to this forum.
Thank you very much. Will edit if this gets solved.

Edit: what I wrote below is wrong. You're likely running into a Magisk 24.3 bug
-------------------------
This probably doesn't answer your question - but installing Magisk permanently may not be possible. My unscientific opinion (based on my recent experiences) is you may need to install everything in one shot - i.e. no reboot. I recently managed in install Lineage 15.1 from stock using twrp by:
rebooting into fastmode
installing twrp
rebooting into recovery (the one shot I had - if I rebooted at this stage, twrp would be gone! So avoid rebooting from here on out. )
Install lineage zip, then microg & any other packages you want
Reboot into lineage - twrp no longer available
I couldn't get twrp to stay installed even when I tried to install it to system, I figured that's because pollux_windy doesn't have a recovery partition. Also - I'm going off memory, so I may have gotten things wrong. However, it took me about 3 attempts to get things right (at times lineage wouldn't boot, IIRC, I may have forgotten to wipe the cache). I was following the steps in the wiki and used the following versions, accoding to my downloads folder:
twrp v3.6.1_9-0-pollux_windy.img
open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano20220215.zip
lineage-15.1-202000220-nightly-pollux_windy-signed.zip

Honor 7 custom ROM install issues

Hi all,
I experience some issues installing a custom ROM to my Huawei Honor 7 PLK-L01 phone. Can anyone help me or pointing me in the right direction please?
I'm trying to install a custom ROM, but from the ones I tried to install (DigiROM, H7T, Lineage 13, Lineage 13 v2, Lineage 14, Pure, YodaROM), I only managed to get Lineage 13 and Lineage 13 v2 working on my phone. I was able to install all other ROM's, but after installation and rebooting, the phone got stuck on the "Honor" start-up screen and not continue to boot the ROM afterwards.
(By the way, does someone have the MoDaCo Custom ROM (by paulobrien) available? I want this ROM the most, but the download site has been taken offline )
I'm using TWRP v3.2.1-0, but also tried installations with TWRP v3.1.1-0-plank.
With all installations, I wiped dalvik/cache/data/system and installed the ROM by installing the copied .zip file from my SD card, via TWRP.
(Installation via ADB Sideload is not working. Device is not recognized in ADB, even after installing USB drivers. Fortunately, installing via TWRP works for me.)
My phone is unlocked and root is working fine. The phone version was initially C432B121 (Don't know if this changes with each ROM installation?)
Although LOS13 is able to be installed on my phone, with this ROM, I'm not able to charge my phone... When I try to select the USB configuration mode (via "Select USB configuration" via Developer Options), the settings menu crashes after selecting one, with error message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
When setting up a lock screen security (eg. PIN code to unlock phone), the same error occurs.
Furthermore, the camera is not working, but this would be a known issue for this ROM. Hence, on my phone, the camera is also not working with suggested apps as Footej, Camu, or Cameringo, which should deal with this issue.
Does anyone recognize this? Do I have a sort of admin rights issue? Or do I need to install a matching firmware version for each ROM? Or perhaps another TWRP version?
Right now I have installed Lineage OS 13 Reloaded v2.0 (Android 6.0.1) (by Spirtix & Speedo.thc)
Problem solved! Updating the OTA firmware was my solution (C432B121 to B130, then to B180, then B370).
Thanks to DigiGoon, these files can be downloaded here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=102830
hello @broek84 - sorry for an unrelated question:
how did you unlock the bootloader of your Honor 7?
thx
