I wanna install youtube vanced in my rooted device. But it keeps failing because the non-SAI version of youtube vanced is a lower version than the stock youtube app. Is there a way I can uninstall the youtube app? So that I can install the vanced version?
Have you tried disabling miui optimizations in dev options?

I did try it. I'm using system app safe remover [root] from playstore. My Miui optimization is currently off. It still says 1 failed uninstall.
Trying disabling YouTube? I used hidden miui settings app and from there I could disable YouTube.

I tried that too. But I still can't install the vanced youtube app. Because even if its disabled, its still a system app and cant be installed over
So update: I tried with a multitude of apps including SD maid and titanium backup and it still failed. In some apps it said "the apk cannot be located" ?? So I enabled the app and installed updates and tried again but still kept saying the apk cannot be found.
So I tried adb. I tried the "pm uninstall –k —user 0 package:com.google.android.youtube" and it said "Failure not installed for user". What?? So what am I supposed to do now?

I didn't installed Whatsapp+ from AROMA, instead I used Whatsapp from Play Store, and no problems so far. I even upgrade sometimes the APK downloading it directly from their website (they have beta versions there).

Just remove it using adb shell. Manually delete the apk in /system/app/ folder, and install whatsapp from play store. It should work now.

Ok, heres what happened: I'm using a xt1022 kitkat 4.4.4 rooted, I uninstalled YouTube app via Titanium backup premium. When I try to install the app again via play store, it says that it can't be installed and I have to.check my storage. When I try to install via official apk, it asks me if I wanna update the app, as if it were installed, but it's not, so I wait and the installer says it wasn't installed.... It didn't happen with other google apps, only with YouTube... What am I missing? What can I do? Thanx in advance for any help.

Try using Link2Sd( you can download it from play store) and grant root permissions when prompted and search for the youtube app and uninstall it if found..
No luck, that app can't find YT... But the apk thinks its installed
When I try to install an app it says app not installed. I have tried signing the app, changing the version number and can't get it to work. I have tried installing apks I have downloaded and patched apks from lucky patcher and nothing works. So is there something that doesn't allow the phone to install modified apps?
I can't install samsung keyboard apk on my samsung galaxy s9+
Are you trying to install a new version of an apk that's already on your phone? If so, can you uninstall the older version first?
it is Android 8.0 security features. Google removed install unknown source. You need to give specific permission to file browsers or apps that does the install - for example, if you have app, copy to your phone, and open Samsung File, and click to install.

Yeah I did that to allow installs from Samsung file browser and lucky patcher but still not installing. It let's me push the install button and starts the process then says app not installed. I made sure that the previous version is not installed and reset the phone but still not working
Yeah I have allowed installs from the apps I am using to try to install and there isn't a previous version on the phone I made sure to uninstall the app and restart the phone after and still not allowing the install. It starts the install then says app not installed

the app you trying to install, unmodified one, go apkmirror.com and search for it, it should list different version, some apps has arm and arm64 version, download it to your phone, and install it.
your s9/s9+ are arm64

Emm nobody?
Samsung blocked sideloading most of it's system apps. Nothing you can really do about it.
Replace app with tutuapp
Your Android application may not be suitable for them. What you need to do now is:
Try updating Android, otherwise you go to the store by reinstalling your device, but this is very time consuming and costly. You can also use tutuapp android (visit tutuappplus.net to download) this free app store that helps me use great apps for Android.
Hi, i'm trying to install youtube vanced but can't get it to work. I'm using twrp and my phone is rooted. I also made 100% sure that the youtube app is uninstalled and automated updates are off in play store.
What happens is:
I can install the zip without errors with twrp. But in android there is no app shown and neither in Titanium backup. However i can find a apk called YouTube.apk that has the youtube vanced logo in the folder directory rootdirectory/System/System/App/Youtube
I also did try to install a older version but that didn't help. And i made sure with the app droid info that i'm on arm64-v8a and i'm using the right apk.
I just can't figure out what to do and didn't find anything helpful googling.

If you are using magisk root, just install the module via the magisk manager app

Did swap from SuperSU to Magisk, now youtube vanced works. Thanks.
Hi guys,
I'm trying to install YouTube Vanced, I have Stock ROM rooted with Magisk, but I get an error:
"Installation failed because the user tried to downgrade the package. Uninstall updates from the stock app, then try again."
I don't have an option to uninstall updates, so I used Package Manager (from F-Droid) to uninstall YouTube.
I restarted the phone, but I still get the same error.
Did anyone come across this and know how to fix it?
Thanks

Built in apps like youtube can uninstall updates by going to their play store page and press uninstall.
Did abit of googling. Have you tried this suggestion since u are rooted with magisk:
[CLOSED][APP][MOD][ROOT/NONROOT] Vanced
┤Mod Edit├┤Closing note. YouTube Vanced lives on in ReVanced (not affiliated with Vanced)├ ‼️Before asking or posting anything, please read the first and second posts.‼️ Always check the official Vanced website or XDA thread when downloading...

Yes I did. Use the magisk module named "debloater" and disable YouTube there.
Then you can install Vanced

I tried the Magisk module, I followed ALL the directions, but it did nothing. (I have no idea what I did wrong)
But I managed to finally remove YouTube with a debloated app from F-Droid (I think it's based on the Magisk debloater module, but I'm not sure...)
I finally was able to install YouTube Vanced!
Thanks
