I flashed Jellybean today on my Galaxy Nexus using the guide I found on The Verge
http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/29/3...illa-stock-jelly-bean-on-gsm-galaxy-nexus-now
everything works great, except the fact that the sound search widget is nowhere to be found
the apk exists but the widget is not on the list, I tried to reinstall the apk but since the original one it's signed I can't install over it.
I'm not rooted
Anyone got a clue about this?
Thanks a lot
Same here, the Sound Search widget is missing, also the app does not appear on the list of installed apps (should be "Sound Search for Google Play").
I currently have no music on my nexus, maybe there is my mistake?
Edit: You need to defrost the app, then it works again. But why its always after flashing (official trough ota) jelly bean frosted? How to unfrost without root?
Edit 2: I flashed 4.0.4 yakju via fastboot and updates again official through ota, after doing this multiple, it works again (after the 3rd try)
Edit 3: Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771472
Hi,
I wanted to update my phone to the new 45.4.13(?) update but it keeps giving me errors since I uninstalled some of the stock apps that were useless (for example, AdService.apk). Is there a way to either mount a partition that has the factory setting stuff, or modify the update to not check the hashes of the stock apps I don't have, and if I can do the latter, would that break the update/my phone?
Also I want to hear if anyone has updated their thing to 2.3.5 after superuser released their ota survival, and did that work?

I have a P769 running AntonX's CM11 build. Since the last time I flashed ~4-5 weeks ago I haven't been able to set a custom ringtone. I tried setting it with ES File Explorer and it shows up as 'None' in the sounds sub-menu. I tried renaming one of my custom ringtones to match a stock one and it just plays the hangouts video call sound.
Something that might be related to this is that my music does not show up since I flashed on Google Play Music.
I found this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...ing-on-device-file-explorer-in-android-4-4-2/
It describes what I'm experiencing. I tried flashing AntonX's latest build (4.4.4) and the problem still persists.I really want my custom ringtone and notifications to work. I tried searching this sub-forum for something related and I couldn't find anything. I'd appreciate any help.
Also, I can't post the problem in AntonX's CM11 thread because I have less than 10 posts. And I might try Nameless ROM because I've heard good things about it.
Thanks.
Hi everyone,
This is not a question for my cellphone but for my ebook reader running Android 4.2.2 (rooted). I recently updated my Onyx Reader C67ML Carta2 to the latest firmware, 1.8.2. It works fine but the apps that should be running on startup are not doing it anymore. I have to start them manually everytime. I was using them for battery saving and were working pretty well (Greenify, No-frills, BootManager, Barshortcuts...) I have tried to flash again firmware 1.8.1 and update to 1.8.2 but it didn't change anything. I also tried to move these apps to system/app or downloaded a few apps (Startup, Autostart,Tasker...) to automatically start them on boot but with the same result.
Any suggestions? I really want these apps to open on startup and keep the newest firmware that has some new cool features.
I guess it's a bug in the latest firmware.
Hi,
First apologies if it's not the right place for this post. If so, be kind to direct me to the proper location.
LOS+MicroG update on 20210108 broke the sound on my Polaris device. I opened a ticket on Hitman for LOS and several users confirmed the same issue on their own devices (polaris and non polaris). In short, no more sound on the device: phone doesn't ring, doesn't play music, doesn't play videos, either on standard speaker, loudspeaker or headphones. Basically withe this update the phone has become useless... For details, see Issue #2926.
My questions:
1) on polaris, updates are now far from being weekly. Rather, they seem to run on a monthly schedule. Once a fix has been published, do we need to wait a full 4-week with a disabled phone to get the patched applied? Can a polaris package maintainer at Lineage+Microg run the build process before then, so we can recover our phones?
2) I tried to reinstall the Dec 6 update manually, but the phone restarted on TWRP. Impossible to revert. Am I doing something wrong (flashing the previous zip via TWRP) or is it just not possible to revert to a previous version of LOS+MicroG?
Thanks!
