Badoo is available as a Quick App, an innovative feature unique to AppGallery which enables installation-free apps that provide experiences very close to the native versions. Badoo’s Head of Communications Tristan Pineiro said Quick Apps not only take up much less space on people’s phones and therefore enable improved app performance under heavy loads, they also enable a better user experience.
“In the modern day, daters want a quick and convenient dating platform that can cater for their busy lifestyles, and having Badoo available as a Quick App allows daters to enjoy easy access across different devices and platforms,” Pineiro said.
Furthermore, Badoo integrates Huawei Mobile Service’s Chip-Device-Cloud capabilities to enable optimised in-app functionality and help deliver the smoothest possible dating experience for AppGallery users. For example, Huawei Mobile Service’s geolocation intelligently combines GPS, Wi-Fi, and base stations to give precise user locations and enable daters to meet people around them.
Meanwhile, Huawei’s Push Kit works in tandem with the Quick Apps function, enabling developers to check if push tokens on users’ devices have expired when the app is brought to the foreground. The Push Kit also enables developers to control how and when notifications are sent to users and ensure the correct information is shown when they tap the notification, meaning users have continued access to the latest updates and promotions.
“These days, there are many different online dating platforms, and people want a service that offers a smooth and efficient user experience, as well as being able to date honestly. Listing with AppGallery and integrating with Huawei Mobile Service’s innovative kit means that Badoo can offer both these things, which ultimately helps us reach more users and achieve higher engagement rates,” Pineiro said.
Huawei constantly works on collaborations with the world’s top app developers to create quality apps, and Badoo is one of the latest among 60,000 apps that have utilized Huawei’s advanced technologies and on-device capabilities to deliver superior services and enhanced user experiences.
All applications developed in collaboration with Huawei, along with thousands of other quality apps, are available on Huawei’s open and secure app distribution platform, AppGallery. As one of the top three app marketplaces globally, AppGallery connects 420 million monthly active users throughout more than 170 countries and regions to Huawei’s smart and innovative ecosystem.
AppGallery provides users with more choice and better app discovery options, with thousands of apps across 18 categories including news, social media, entertainment, and more.

ClasseViva is a cloud-based learning platform developed by one of Italy’s top education companies, Gruppo Spaggiari Parma. Gruppo Spaggiari Parma CEO Riccardo Agostini said the app has proved particularly useful in recent months as its enabled schools throughout Italy to deliver effective remote learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The Covid-19 situation has posed unique challenges for teachers and students, and listing ClasseViva on AppGallery has helped us minimise disruption to our users by ensuring they have access to quality remote learning tools.”
Used widely throughout the school community in Italy, the app is split between three platforms – ClasseViva Student, ClasseViva Family, and ClasseViva Teacher. Currently, the app is being used 1.7 million times every day by AppGallery users, with an average daily user involvement of over 5 minutes.
Integrating ClasseViva with HMS innovative capabilities also helped the company develop a superior learning tool and offer the best possible user experience for the growing number of AppGallery users.
“Huawei’s Analytics Kit provides useful insights and real-time data on user behaviour and monitors app performance. This allows us to better analyse how teachers, students, and families are using the app, and meet teachers’ and students’ needs in a constantly evolving learning environment,” Agostini said.
Other kits integrated on ClasseViva include the Push Kit, which enables instant messaging about updates and notifications; Huawei’s crash analysis service, which enables app makers to monitor the quality of their app in real time; and the Scan Kit, which enables absences to be registered and approved through the app by scanning unique QR codes.
“Furthermore, Huawei helped facilitate this remote learning by guaranteeing fast delivery of their Huawei T3 and T5 tablets to help us maximise the amount of teachers and we could reach.”said. Agostini.

AppGallery is collaborating with popular game-based learning platform Kahoot! as part of their efforts to encourage learning at home.
Kahoot!’s free learning app makes it easy to create, share and play fun educational games or trivia quizzes in minutes. The app can be played in three ways – as a live quiz with real-time answers, as a challenge among friends with a scoreboard, or as a self-study quiz with no competition. For instance, Kahoot has a “Discover” section with various categories like Trivia and History. Users can take fun quizzes about cats and animals under Trivia, learning more about their favourite pets in the process without pressure.
In the last 12 months, Kahoot! had 1.3 billion participating players in over 200 countries, with 4.4 billion cumulative players since its launch in 2013. The app is used in schools, at home and even in workplaces to encourage interactive learning.
Eilert Hanoa, CEO of Kahoot!, said: “We’re pleased to work together with Huawei to launch Kahoot! on AppGallery. We are impressed by Huawei's innovation of new technology and business models and its strong global consumer brand. We look forward to exploring more partnership opportunities”.
Kahoot! joined AppGallery in December 2019 to further expand its penetration into mature markets, working closely with Huawei’s support team to fully integrate Huawei Mobile Services into the app. One of the key features Kahoot! implemented in its AppGallery version was full compatibility with HUAWEI Assistant, a cutting-edge AI that makes your phone more intuitive and customised to your taste. Users can easily create a game or enter a PIN to join a game room by adding the Kahoot! app to their quick access bar by swiping right on the home screen and accessing the Huawei Assistant screen. It is a hands-and-fuss-free solution that makes creating and playing a quiz quick and easy.
With this integration, Kahoot! was selected to be part of Huawei’s speed-dial programme for the Huawei browser. In this programme, links to registered mobile-optimized websites are placed within the Huawei browser when a new tab is opened, increasing exposure to users. Getting into Huawei’s speed-dial programme enabled Kahoot! to penetrate the EU market, reaching out to over 30 countries including Germany and France.
The integration process was simple. Adding support for and integrating with Huawei Mobile Services took little work, and the app was up and running on AppGallery within a week.
Within a few months of joining AppGallery, Kahoot! quickly became a global top app in the marketplace, reaching about 1 million downloads to date.
All applications developed in collaboration with Huawei, along with thousands of other quality apps, are available on Huawei’s open and secure app distribution platform, AppGallery. One of the top three app marketplaces globally, AppGallery connects 650 million users throughout more than 170 countries and regions to Huawei’s smart and innovative ecosystem.
AppGallery provides users with more choice and better app discovery options, with thousands of apps across 18 categories, including news, social media, entertainment, and more.

The Marketing Campaign That Keeps Bearing Fruits
AppGallery is actively working towards becoming the app marketplace of choice for mobile users. To achieve that goal, the team reaches out to developers to engage in marketing campaigns where different parties share marketing resources to elevate the awareness of each other to their respective audiences. This partnership program allows Huawei to provide the support developers need which, in turn, helps AppGallery to provide the best app experience for the consumers.
During this campaign, Video Show integrated two Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Core Kits, including In-App Purchase Kit as well as Ads kit. The implementation of HMS toolkits within the app allows Video Show to provide an enhanced and smoother app experience for AppGallery users. At the same time, by integrating with HMS Ecosystem, Video Show developers benefit from the operational support that Huawei provides to registered developers.
From AppGallery’s perspective, Video Show was advertised prominently in high traffic spaces, including the top banner as well as the recommended list, which guarantees visibility among AppGallery’s 460 million active users. The high promotional effort was maintained consistently throughout the campaign, with Video Show being featured prominently in different locations to capture the attention of AppGallery users.
“This partnership with AppGallery is nothing short of a windfall for us. We are thrilled with the results of the campaign and are already exploring more ways that we can work with Huawei,” said WU Yi at Shanghai Aiqi Info. “The integration with HMS kits is not only helpful in terms of the development process of the app, it opens up even more resources provided by Huawei. We are really g rateful for the consistently high-quality support that AppGallery and Huawei has provided.”
Due to AppGallery’s marketing support, Video Show’s daily downloads increased five-fold in MEA and seven-fold in LATAM. The growth in daily downloads continued even after the campaign ended, demonstrating the potential impact of AppGallery marketing. In addition, the post-campaign daily downloads, as compared to before, saw a 1.6-time jump in MEA and a 6-time jump in LATAM.

The pace of change for mobile technology is fast-moving – each new device and product builds on its predecessor to enhance users’ lives. Likewise, Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), an ever-evolving technology since its introduction back in the early 2010s, refreshes the user experience with every update. Throughout its growth, Huawei users have enjoyed a consistently enhanced digital lifestyle faceted by security, convenience, and innovation.
When HMS was first unveiled, digital living was at its infancy. Smartphones had limited functionalities, shackled by poor app innovation. Data was stored on-device and users had no access to media content outside of their own personal libraries as streaming technology wasn’t established yet. Compared to the liberating platform of today, the digital lifestyle was lacklustre and limited.

Leveraging Huawei devices’ AI capabilities, users can also search using images or photos they have taken, complementing the fast-paced and convenient mobile lifestyle of today. Future updates even include a voice search feature and strengthened visual search function.
The launch of Petal Maps means that Huawei users now have a newer and more innovative way of exploring the world. It not only provides global users in more than 140 countries with features including location tracking, map display, driving directions, it also comes with real-time road conditions to provide the best travelling experience.
