Welcome to "made in China" I guess I had too scratching when i had Verge, but mine was very slight. This model have Gorilla Glass 3. In phones Gorillas Glass 3 is more focused on scratch protection. So strange that you have this problem, even if you used it so careful Have you insurance of yours device? Insurance in some market helping to fix broken glass, theft and any others problems which does not support warranty
To be honest, that's strange. I don`t know how many times I hit walls, doors, tables, etc with watch, not a single scratch on it.

Cali-for-nyee-aayyy Love, brah.
Oh! when I saw your hd2. I think we should double take care of our HD2.
Thats nothing this is what i did to mine:
Lucky seen as i had insurance so i got it a new phone to replace it
have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613954&page=24
You're not the first and not the last either, I bet. It happened to me too and I fixed it myself using the tips found on XDA.
The best one being getting a complete unit (LCD + Digitizer) and not just the screen.
I paid about 100 € on Ebay for the unit, came in about 3 dayx with the special tools shown on the leaked HTC video tutorial.
If I managed to do it, anyone can, believe me

Hello,
as far as I know HTC charge about 180 € ...
But you can have it repaired cheaper when you looking arround and find a local phone store.
I know what you must feel
@ceh01:
must say that pattern on yours is best so far
Hi,
HTC quoted £120 to repair the glass.
4 more month until i'm due an upgrade
Wondering if its worth it....
:S
man, some pretty bad looking screens here. i was soooo lucky with mine the other week. i was in the shed when i knocked my leo off the bench and it landed face down on the concrete, i well an truely shat my pants. god knows how or why but i got away with a tiny tiny crack in the top left corner, it really is so small its miniscule but i'll still probably blag a new screen through the bank insurance about a month before im due to upgrade.........

Lemme tell ya about yesterday at the river standing on the dock drinking a beer and watching fireworks. My brother-in-law thought it would be SO funny if I took a little night dip in the marina and gave my slightly intoxicated self a nudge in that direction...yup. I actually thought it was hilarious when I climbed out and was laughing while popping another Bud. But wait, yep, my phone is making some strange noise in my pocket...sounds a bit like its choking! Fished it out, it flickered, then died. Than I punched him in the mouth. No REALLY. Spent today babying it and drying it out and it works except that there is river water in what looks like 3 different layers of the screen. Anyway, he's paying the deductible and my new one is on the way. Ugh, it's killed me to even look at it all day. My girlfriends been very happy and I haven't hit F5 even once in the root threads so I guess thats a plus. Just wanted to share my misery with some like-minded peeps, seems like everyone I know just doesn't understand...
Punch him again.

Lost cause, you're talking about a dude that refreshes by hitting F5.
Sorry to hear of the unfortunateness. Good to hear your getting another courtesy of brother-in-law.
The EVO line of phones seem to be a fairly robust lot. I left my table at a bar to fetch another drink and return to find my 4G in a pool of spilt vodka/sprite. It didnt turn on a first but once I took it apart (completely) and dried it out, it started it up fine. It also had turned (3) moisture indicators pink.
1. One indicator on the battery
2. Second in the battery bay
3. The third on another board inside the phone
Luckily it didnt have any water on the inside screen.
A friend has a 3D and spilled a Taco Bell sweet tea on it. Sticky stuff. Still works...
@event....nice one douche. Should've saved that haymaker for you I imagine. Thanks for the replies everyone else. I'm always happy to get a new phone regardless. Hope everyone had a good 4th...

I think he meant it as a compliment, maybe. Being addicted to root is a badge of honor, for some... of us, lol
If you're in KY near water then there's a good chance I'm close enough to come get 3d video of you punching him again, or maybe asking to see his phone then throwing him in for a swim.
That does suck man. I almost had to go back to a bb curve for a few days when I broke my evo, the horror!
a new one? you mean refurbished .. I'd make him buy a BRAND NEW straight from sprint for 500 .. most expensive push ever.

I've found myself in that situation far too often, I love to go fishing, and sometimes forget I have a phone in my pocket. Well I've gotten into the habit of when I'm gonna be at or near water for awhile I slip my phone in a ziplock in my pocket. lol
Seems stupid but hey I saved my EVO4G a couple times lol

i had a bricked mt3g with a vodafone splash screen and went for an exchange from tmobile and didnt wanted them to know that it is bricked by the vodafone spash screen. i took a jug of water and poured into the phone carefully so it didnt mess the indicators and then plugged it in and booted, still worked, then i microwaved it for a few seconds until there were some sparks, took it out again booted, idk what htc puts in their phones but they do survive the utter torchure. I ended up disconnecting a wire on mt3g on the inside so it would short out and didnt boot and finally got an exchange. for my n1 it fell off from 8 feet just a dent, fell off 3 floors onto trampoline nothing, fell off 1 floor another dent, fell of 2 floors on its edge broken screen ( no broken glass just screen ) its survived too much torchure. Have HTC Magic 32a bought it on launch still works perfect =O

I had the same thing on the mytouch, I just mailed it back to them with the voda splash screen and prepared to play dumb if it was ever brought up. They never asked any questions.
since ur already getting a new one. Try putting that one in a bowl of Dry Rice. Might as well see if the rice sucks the water up and you have an extra 3D its worked for me on some phones.

Since the device is so new... the chances of him getting a brand new one is very high... $100 deductible may just send him a brand new phone.
Yeah, I'm hoping the $100 gets a brand new one sent to me. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow and see. As far as the rice goes, I let it sit in rice for about 24 hours and though the phone is dry, there are still the three different layers of water inside the screen. One layer of water banding, one layer of large droplets, and another layer of banding running the opposite direction. Really strange to look at...
@event- apologies to you, I'm usually a little more grown-up than the name-calling. Was just in a foul mood last night over this. I do run a firefox addon to auto-refresh xda.
There are not 3 layers of water in your phone, just one, it's a 3D phone remember, it's a feature.
Anyway sorry to hear about killing one already, glad you are getting another.

Well guys I already did it. I'm really good about taking care of my phones. Screen protector and case. Just got my Titan II yesterday and dropped it on the bathroom tile floor. I made the mistake of trying to save it but in the long run pushed it harder on the tile. It landed on the back side at least. I did have the case mate on it from att and a screen protector. Seems to be running fine no scratches or anything. Should I be worried?
Sent from my PI86100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Did the screen break? If not, the only thing I'd be concerned about is the camera lens being broken. It's built pretty solid like the Inspire 4G so unless the screen is broken, no worries mate.
I feel ya though! I've dropped only 1 phone only 1 time and it was shattered (HD7)! Scary feeling
Thanks for the reply. No shattering here. Just pissed I guess. Thanks .. Putting my mind at ease.
Sent from my PI86100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Keep a close eye on it though, I dropped my Titan onto carpet from around 3 feet whilst in its soft leather case, No damage whatsoever, Two days later it decided to get extremely hot at the rear casing, The screen would not light up and the battery ran flat in minutes, Maybe just a freak occurance but it needed to go back to HTC and they sent me a new handset, I wasn't impressed.
Sometimes i wounder it things falling are better off alone as they fall since most of the time the attempt to catch it ends up with it being slapped across the room (down), but aslong as the the camera/flash work with no visible damage then you got lucky this time.
One more thing you *might* want to check is your call quality. Since you've mentioned it fell on it's back, your antenna contacts might have pressed a little too hard on the case. See if incoming calls and outgoing calls have good enough call quality as it was before the drop. My first titan got screwed with the mic after a drop on the pavement, luckily got a replacement at the store.
hey, don't worry mate - as it is a windows phone it's made to handle tiles

Genius!!! Pure Genius man!!
But to op, I wouldn't worry to much because I have dropped my titan multiple times on my tile with nothing but a screen protector and everything is all fine and dandy. If there is one special thing HTC has got going for them I'd say its premium build quality compared to other phone makers.
a few months back my brother bought a sony xperia z2.. he was very happy. after a few days and ONE test if it was waterproof there was water in the camera and inside the phone. he went to the phone store and asked for help.. the phone was sent to 'what the store owner said was sony' after 5 weeks of waiting he got it back. one week later he took the phone out of his pocket with the screen against his leg and the back of the phone facing away from his leg. i was with him the hole day.. he didnt bump his legg what so ever
here was something we didn't get... on top of the screen, where the screen meets the edge there was crack that led until an inch under the upper egde of his phone.. i myself had a crack in my screen once but the phone still worked... in this case it was different.. the phone wouldn't work.. you could still switch on off but the display wasn't working.. he went back to the phone store once again but the owner of the store was clearly making up story's and said he would make a few calls. he didn't ..
can someone give my brother some tips on how to handle this sort of things and or how to get a new phone from son or something because we are really out of idea's
kind regards,
albert

Welcome on the boat my friend, we all have the same issue we can't love phones that are too big to too small...Alpha is just perfect in all aspects! I have dropped my phone twice and it did not do any damage because i have a tempered screen glass protector on it. Get a glass screen protector and you are good to go!
Oh, Its the first time i hear that these "tempered screen glass protector " is for crash protection ! .. i thought its only a stupid protection for scratching & give a bad feeling for my figures when touches the screen ...
Any way, if its really reliable I'll use them !
Thank you bro. for the reply so I'm no the only only who will pick a lower specifications phone over a better one because of the pretty looking !
I'm now just confused between Alpha & Z3 Compact ... actually there are many phones at the same price also other phones like Z2,S5,G3,some HTC &Devices are close to the price of the Alpha :3
Z3 Compact has less features than Alpha, But some of the shared features are Better than Alpha, also Nice looking, better than the look of Z2 & its small & pretty enough.
I'm Bad in decision making , i think i have to watch some videos & check the support availability for Z3 Compact first
For the camera I think all the phones has bad camera & shared problems since 4 years & no fix for it ... except Apple iPhones always win the camera comparisons against any android phone in the world .. this why i'm taking my friend who have iphone 5s with me when i going to awesome place
Thanks alot

dropped mine a few times on a marble floor. slight scratches along the metal rim but nothing significant.
Every screen can break on first drop, that one youtube video doesn't mean anything. It's just a matter of luck. The glass is the same as the note 4 and galaxy S6 (gorilla glass v4)

thank you all
anyone noticed that this phone has too slow charging issue !
i tried to charge it via the laptop & the original charger both are the same.
also this night, i put it beside me & get sleep for 8 hours, when i wakeup , then phone was turned off & the battery was 0% !!! anyone has a comment about this ?
thanks
you should sale Alpha & buy Xiaomi m8
I can see on all your post you are not satisfied with your fake Alpha
I bent a USB Charging Cord the metal part that goes into the phone at a 90 degree angle charging and opened sliding door where phone was with Zero damage to phone or USB port - the metal frame is very rigid !
I have a tempered glass protector and very slim clear Case called Casemate Naked Tough and recently the Phone dropped off a 36" Counter onto Concrete Floor- no marks or damage and stayed on Internet Radio.
Rugged little phone but some protection advised.
The great thing about these rigid metal phones is less likely to flex and break in a Pocket IMO.
I met with an accident (on Bike) About a month ago ,
And Screen of my alpha was shattered (there wasn't any case or screen guard)
Luckily i had an insurance , and samsung replaced the Screen .
i paid only Claim charge [600 INR] ( screen cost was 9000 INR)
