PS3 controller doesn't work on my Mate 20 Pro - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello! I have a Playstation 3 controller that i want to use on my Huawei Mate 20 Pro abut i have a problem, when i connect my controller to my phone via OTG the controller doesn't work, my phone says that something is connected but only one button works(the left stick). When i try to enter in a game my camera is always spinning and i can control the camera only with L2 and R2 if i don't press on these buttons the camera start spinning without stopping. My phone is still on version 9.1.0.358, i can update it to Android 10 but i don't really want to do that. The controller works fine on my computer and on my mom's Samsung Galaxy A50 that is on Android 10, keep in mind that my phone is not rooted.
Do you guys know what can i do to make it work?

PS4 controller (bluetooth) not working on M5 LTE?

Hello, everyone!
As I have not found anything on this, neither on XDA, nor using friend Google, I'm posting this hoping to find a solution.
So I have an original PS4 bluetooth controller and it works like a charm with other devices (Win 8.1 laptop, K1 Shield on Android 7, Sony ZX2 on Android 8). but not on the M5.
Trying to pair it with the M5 first brings up an error message "Pairing failed Incorrect pairing key or the device you want to pair with is configured incorrectly. Tray again after viewing Help." ... which doesn't help.
A second attempt will then magically pair the device, but to no effect. It is shown as paired and coected, but will not work with the tablet and apps supporting controllers will not recognize that a controller is connected. Also the controller itself shows the "idle" instead of the "connected" light.
So, does anyone have any ideas how to solve this? I re-paired the controller with all other devices, just to make sure, and it worked. So the controller is still functioning.
If it's anything like the DS3 (dual shock 3) then the controller is very finicky and requries custom software. There's probably an app for it, the Sony phone will have the driver pre installed because it's sony, and probably the shield too.
If it's connected, then yeah there's no hardware fault, just needs the driver.

Well, PS3 controllers truly are difficult to set up, but not so PS4 controllers: Turn on bluetooth, put them into pairing mode, pair, done. I had my PS3 controller with Sixaxis running after much hassle but the PS4-one is really easy to set up. And I did it on multiple Android devices.
And then comes the M5 ...
By the way: Sixaxis does not support the M5.
Yeah I did notice the same thing on my M5 Pro.
I wanted to play the odd mame game with it, and as you say it paired on the 2nd attempt, but I couldn't get any controls to respond to any buttons/triggers etc.
I haven't tried using an OTG cable to see if it will work via cable, but disappointing that it connects but still doesn't work.
Can confirm that DualShock 4 and wired Switch controllers work with a USB C OTG cable.
Hi, it looks like that the Pad have a general Problem with Bluetooth controllers, because i tried a snakebyte controller:vr and the controller hangs or it is "endless scrolling" and in games very unprecise. the same Controller work with a P20 Pro like charm. So it looks like the Problem ist the m5 Pro. Oh, and the same with the PS4 Controller M5 + wired Ps4 working, M5 + Bluetooth PS4 "He´s dead jim", P20 Pro wired/bluetooth Ps4 working.

Android controller

Hey,
I need some help with my controller, here is the issue:
I have a controller (freebox controller) which is connected by an OTG cable to my Honor 10 lite (not rooted bc it's almost impossible). Analog sticks and other buttons work fine but not 1,2,3,4. The games I play ask me to press A, B, Y, or X but I only have 1234 and they don't do anything. Does someone have a solution ?

Mi 10 Bluetooth Controllers Link Issues (Included Dualshock 4 + Xbox One)

I bought the Mi 10 one month ago and I can't still link any controller via bluetooth and I don't know why (I tried with an Xbox One controller from a friend of mine. That controller worked on his OP 7 Pro via bluetooth). My last phone was a Mi 9T, with MIUI 12 (even same MIUI 12 version) and I was able to connect the Dualshock4 via bluetooth and play with Dolphin, PPSSPP and even Damon PS2 (**** that emulator). I am able to play with the controller via OTG but I'm UNABLE to link any controller I have via bluetooth on the Mi 10. Obviously I tried every way to link it and every setting on Bluetooth settings and advanced settings for developers. (Obviously I'm pressing Share + Home to star pairing. Btw, I can play via bluetooth with my DS4 on my PC with Windows 10 and I have no issues, just like my old Mi 9T). Furthermore, i resetted it with that little button that you have to press for 10 seconds with a thin stick (I don't know how to say that in English lol). Is there anyone here with the same issues? (BT headphones, even physical keyboards like remote music control works perfectly).

8bitdo buttons reversed after android update

I just submitted this message to 8bitdo themselves, but I figured I'd post here as well since I didn't find any threads on this topic, hopefully some xda pros can help out! thanks in advance...
"Hello, over the years I've purchased 13 different 8bitdo controllers, been happy with the products, but recently my favorites (four SN30 pro's) have had their ABXY buttons reversed (in android bluetooth mode) after the latest android updates.
When I press B+start to pair in android mode and connect to my phone, using "Gamepad Tester", the app shows "A" input when I press the B button, and vice versa. X and Y are also swapped. However, in that same session, without turning off the controller, simply connecting it via USB solves the issue.
If I reset the controller, but hold X+start to connect in X input mode, buttons are reversed whether I'm connected via bluetooth or usb.
I already updated the firmware with the latest updater, but the issue persists. I've factory reset the controllers, but no luck. I've tried on 3 different devices (Samsung Galaxy s21, s10, and Tab 6), all of which have the latest android software, but having the same issue. I dug out an old android tablet with older android software, connected via B+start for android mode, and it worked perfectly.
I've read that there is an on-board solution to reverse the ABXY buttons by holding Down+Select, but this doesn't seem to work for me, and as I understand, the ultimate software to remap buttons is not compatible with SN30 pro.
Note that the all of my other controllers (N30 pro 2's) do not have this problem.
Please advise on how to fix this issue, as I entertain groups of people daily with gaming and 8bitdo controllers. Thank you!"
I have the same issue and same controller too in my Poco F3 running Android 12, it sucks that this is happening because it's kinda awkward to press A button and it registers as B button from the Emulator
