Hello. Does anyone know what it looks like to replace the film on the screen? Or maybe someone uses something to protect the screen?
Thanks for the reply.
You can buy a screen protector from Amazon, eBay, aliexpress then you can replace it by yourself, it is not easy to install new one but it's possible

Yes I bought it from aliexpress, but after three days I remove the two protector and put new one directly on the screen
I got my Huawei Mate Xs native screen protector unstuck. Just in the middle, along the hinge. Huawei After sales services in Paris offered a free replacement (under warranty). But the result is an irregular, bad fitted protection ! They say it is impossible for a human to replace it as perfectly as the machine initially did !! I couldn't consider that, and asked them to retry ! Did anyone get a similar experience ?

Hi All, since a lot of us are getting the shift now, i guess it's time to think about which screen protector you are going to use, personally i always enjoy the Martin Field Overlay Screen protector, but they don't seems to have one for the shift yet, what do you guys think? found any good screen protector you are going to use?
Hi,
My shift was delivered with a screen protector, I have placed it on the first day and it looks really good. There was no brand on it, so I cannot tell about the manufacturer.
So far I am vey satisfied with it.

yes, i am aware of that, it just i have been using HTC for more then 7 years now, past experience told me i better wait for better screen protector, because once you put it the HTC one, it's so difficult to remove it, and if you do try to remove it and swap it with something else, you leave a mark on the screen, some user even experience bend and uneven screen because the original one is just so sticky.
There don't seem to be many screen protectors specifically for the Shift yet, I'm sure there will be soon. I fitted the included one but not very well, I managed to get a couple of dust specks under it.
I've ordered some generic 7" protectors from Durasec http://www.durasec.com/catalog/index.php?language=en
I also ordered one of their liquid nanotech screen protector kits, don't know much about it but it appears to be a liquid which you spray onto the screen to form a seal. Should be interesting...
Is it neccessary?
Hi,
please, give me an answer to a stupid question?
Is it really necessary to apply a screen protector. Why don't the manufacturers do it in the first place.
What are the advantages, what the disadvantages. Okay, protection comes to mind as an advantage, but shouldn't the original screen be resilient enough?
I'd really like to here some informative opinions.
I have been using a HTC Vario II for some time now without any protection and I can't detect any scratches.

Has anyone managed to find a decent screen protector yet?
Pantaloonie - how was the durasec one?
I've received them, but haven't got round to removing the original and trying them out. The liquid one is a bit strange, apparently you spray it on the screen then spread it with the included cloth, and it forms a protective layer.... or something. Think I'll be testing that on a cheaper device first!

mmm. sounds interesting!
I've got the original on but I have a scratch on the screen and wanted to remove it to see if its just the screen protector or the actual screen that is scratched. Have tried in vain to get at it to peel it off...
Just managed to get a corner - it came off no problem and thankfully the scratch isnt there! Just need a new protector now, my OCD is starting to kick in. Let me know how you get on with the Duratecs! Cheers

I have had this for my Athena and Brando also have two versions for the Shift.

DO NOT by the Durasec. Got mine from Germany, welcome to bubble hell.
Just wish I knew where the original ones are from....
Anyone found any decent ones?
I still haven't tried either of the Durasec ones I bought, as it seems I'll be needing dynamite to remove the original one. It does not want to come off.

I'd leave it on if I were you - I only took mine off as it had a hair underneath and I was losing sleep over it. Took a while but once you get a hold of a little corner it lifts off no problem. I've emailed HTC to ask if they can send me another but I'm notn holding my breath.
Would stay away from the standard Duratec - waste of £8. Let me know if you try the liquid one though!
Hi -
Anyone used the liquid Duratec shield on the Shift yet?
Cheers - Dave
Duratec Crap
Hi,
today I removed the original Screen and tried Duratec, the cheap screen protector. They have also got a hightec version or something like that.
Crap! Crappier! Crappiest sheet of **** you can think of.
S.
But which one is really recommendable?
Thanks!

How did you remove the original screen protector without damaging the display? What is the problem with the Duratec screens?
Hi,
removal was difficult, but I did it. I don't know the exact English words. I used this sticky tape which you wrap up parcels with, tape is of a brownish colour. That I stuck onto the screen protector until it lifted in one corner.
Duratec is thin and cheap material and I guess it is not possible to get it on the screen without lots of bubbles.
Now I have ordered a protector from Brando, was that the name?
We will see.
S.
I really like the anti glare screen protector from www.pocketpctechs.com . I use it with my both my SMT5800 cellphone and my Motion Tablet PC. I'm hoping I can get one sized for the Shift. But my Shift is not here yet so I don't know the size. I can't even tell I have a screen protector with this brand.
screen protector abuse
Hi,
any news about the "best" protector.
In the meantime I have abused 4 or 5. Duratec's cheap ones aren't of any other use than to clean the screen from dust particles.
I tried the Brando "ultra clear" was that the name? Relativ easy to apply, but in the end I fiddled with it too long. Had to peel it off.
Next I tried Brando "plus". Easily to apply, but foil slipped underneath the edge of the screen, when lifting it up to clean off a piece of fluff the protectors edge was damaged.
But the last one is really easy to apply. But, but, they or the distributers just declared them to be for the Shift, originally they are for the eee, how many eeeees were there?
So the screen protector doesn't really fit. At the edges there the foil doesn't cover about 1 or 2 millimeters of the Shift's screen.
Maybe somtime soon they will sell a protector that is for the Shift.
Please, if anyone has got the ultimate protector mention it here:
perfect fit and easily to apply would be nice features.

XP screen protector questions
Hi all,
I have a black XP with a preinstalled screen protector. I also have a case that shields everything except the screen. I also have another screen protector that i did not install yet.
So now my question is, should i install the aftermarket screen protector on top of the existing preinstalled one? And is it possible to remove just the aftermarket one after it is scratched (over time i guess it will be). Will there be any residual glue left on the screen? If yes, what should i use to wipe it off?
Or would you just use it as it is with the preinstalled one, and then if that one get's scratched, replace it with an aftermarket one?
i hope i was clear enough...looking forward to your answers, thanks
Its not a preinstalled screen protector. It's factory applied and if you take it off say goodbye to your phone. Just clean it And apply your protector on top of it,
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium
ok i'll do it like that, nice explanation

Hello.
Recently I have received this redmi note 3 smartphone. The tempered glass they provided was totally bad and didn't stick to the screen. Hence I tried often to press the glass using my thumb against the screen. Little did I know that I would end up with a long crack on the screen from the top earpiece to the recents button..
The screen is working normally as of now..
So I want to know if I have to replace the whole screen (Rs2500) or is there a part of the screen only that needs replacement (Rs x, x<2500) that will cost me lesser..

If tempered glass is broken, then you have to only tempered for Rs.50.. if touch screen is cracked then you have to replace whole combo i.e display.

oh.. Really..? If you are pro smartphone user then you must know the smartphone market too.. I personally buy 0.3 MM flexible tempered glass for Rs.30 and Regular tempered glass for Rs.20 for any smartphone. Somehow Indirectly i belong to the same market, 2 years back for a shopkeeper tempered glass used to cost Rs.27 per piece which they sold for 150-400, but now that cost is reduced to Rs.15(Regular) - Rs.25(0.3mm,0.2mm) per piece.. which is sold by shopkeeper for 100-500. But in same market any random customer get any tempered for Rs.50. Dude.. stop buying everything online.. every city has a Major Mobile Repairing and Accessories market.. just have a walk through it. It is the same Tempered glass which you guys buy for 200-300 Same level of anti-scratch hardness(level 6 on Moh scale of Hardness)

my personal advice will be dont go online for combo.. if anything comes out wrong.. your money and time both will be wasted.. If you can spend 2500 then surely go for Service centre, 2500 totally worth.. but if you dont wanna spend that much then go to Mobile repairing market.. get it replaced there.. if anything comes wrong then you can have replacement at the spot. I just asked my friend and he told that there are two quality available.. Rs.1480 and Rs.1700.. 1480 one is quite thicker than original.

I did not buy it online. I've visited several shops and they flat out deny to apply it if you bargain below 130. They'll just tell you to buy from some other place. You must be fairly lucky to have such cheap tempered glasses in your area. That isn't the case here.

Well in that case, find out the wholesale market from where those shopkeepers do buy stuffs, just go to that market, enter any new shop, tell them you are shopkeeper with confidence.. buy 5 tempered glass for Rs.100. keep rest for future. Area doesnt matter dude.. its same story everywhere.. every part of India buy these stuffs from Delhi only.

It seems like it fits entire screen. But it is plastic wrap, not tempered glass
had it on my op3, covered full screen.
Or you can head over to YouTube and 'Gupta Information Systems' channel had posted some videos with it applied on op5.

Yes, using their transparent skin+screen protector combo
It's a great choice to get the best aesthetic from your phone,
but the display quality reduces a bit compared to other screen protectors
(maybe because of my faulty wet apply)
This is the ****test company I've dealt with, I don't recommend it to anyone. I received my screen protector and skin stapled which means they were damaged. Sent them an email, they didn't reply then, I escalated the issue to paypal and they replied after 10 days just to waste more of my time and paypal then offerd a refund if I'm going to ship the items back, for god sake it's only 19.01 USD so I cancelled the case and took the loss. My main issue is I received my phone and didn't have a screen protector for it. This is the difference when you buy something professional like DBrand and something cheap like these Gadgetshieldz.
Hi, this is for people from India. Have any of you installed tempered glass screen protector which works fine with fingerprint scanner? If so, please share your experience and links.
TIA
Yes, got 1 today.
Fingerprint was working fine but the the size of that glass was not upto the margins, if you apply from top bottom of screen would hide and vice versa. So returned it...
PS: this was the one, don't buy it...

Well i would recommend leave the default protector on till the end of November that is when we can expect the official tamper glass to appear online. You can also get one from the experience stores if you have one near you.

I am keeping the film on till it lasts. It's the best fitting screen protector as of now. We have a gorilla 6 screen so breaking the screen shouldn't be a bother. I went to a shop looking for a screen guard, the guy said he will fit the glass on top of the OEM film cause its the best there is, so I said thank you and left.
