I currently use a wallpaper which I really like, but would love to make it a live wallpaper. I don't have android dev experience hence why I am asking for help.
The screenshot is attached. I would love to have the windmills spins and possibly have the background change based on time of day.
@oladipomd
You can't convert a single static wallpaper ( usually a .JPEG-file ) into a live wallpaper ( usually a .MP4-file ), but you can create a live wallpaper from several static wallpapers.
Several apps exist to create a movie from pictures.

I just switched over from Widget Locker to MagicLocker, since I found a ML style that I really liked. My only complaint is that I can't figure out how to use a Live Wallpaper as the background for it! Is it possible?
If it isn't natively possible, is there some way to hack it to do so? All help is appreciated, thanks! <3
It's been a while since the OP posted this, but I was wondering the same thing. I read somewhere it was possible with ML, but haven't seen how to do it.
Any ideas?
The answer is most of the time. Most themes allow you too but some don't, the stock one doesn't allow you to I believe. To change it you click customization in the top right then select general customization. There you can select your wallpaper. To have a live wallpaper you must select use system wallpaper and you must have the live wallpaper selected as your phones background.
I know there are a few DNA wallpaper threads, but I feel this warrants a new thread...
I'm a wallpaper fiend and wallpapers for our phones are INCREDIBLY hard to find, so I just wanted to add some tips I've found for finding proper wallpaper for our phones that may not be immediately apparent.
First of all, I know this is pretty obvious, but any 1920x1080 wallpaper can be rotated 90 degrees to work for our phones. Also, all the stock Xperia Z wallpapers will work.
Google searches for "larger than 4 MP" come up with a lot of results: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en...p.r_qf.&fp=5394ff313a8b7984&biw=2133&bih=1016
Picspeed wallpapers can be used for rotating wallpapers 90 degrees as well as using static wallpapers without having to crop them: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.srsdev.wallpapers&hl=en If you open the Gallery directly, you can got to Set As and choose Picspeed.
Wallpapers for the iPad 3 are Very close to our required resolution, and this is a great resource: http://2048px.com/
If you find a wallpaper you like with a solid black or white background, you can make a 2160x1920 file in Photoshop and fill the background layer with black or white, If you drag the wallpaper you downloaded directly into photoshop it will place it dead center and you can easily create a correct resolution file. You can also do this with any color 1080x1920 wallpaper as long as you don't allow the homescreen to rotate.
Wallbase has a few 2160x1920 wallpapers: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jaXRjLndhbGxiYXNlIl0.
Any system dump from a 1080p tablet will work as long as you rotate the wallpaper 90 degrees using the Picspeed or Photoshop method.
Please post any more suggestions/ links you find! Wallpapers for are phones are scarce and I feel we need an official thread going.
EDIT: Here's a zip file of all the ones I've tracked down. http://d-h.st/iLZ

I wrote my first live wallpaper today because I did not find something like it and thought it should not be too difficult to do. So here it is. I always wanted a real live wallpaper displaying something from the web instead of just a picture or offline animation. For me it is really useful because I can keep an eye on my favourite webcam over the day and decide to go there if the conditions stay or improve. A lot of other use cases should be possible ...
There is now also a picture frame app and a live widget included (also running on devices without live wallpaper support).

Hey guys,
Was wondering if any of you know how i can get a full screen wallpaper for my Z2, since i tried the app Wizard (weird name after) and now im using Wallpaper setter.
Wizard did not work and wallpaper setter, at it's best cuts the notification bar and half the buttons of the dock.
Tried googling 1080x1776 wallpapers instead of 1080x1920 too, to no better result.
Wanted to change, since the stock wallpapers make for a crappy homescreen, since it is already a washedout screen (i come from a note 3, so probably it's just my opinion).
P.S. Was wondering if you can use any method to not crop the images on lockscreen too
Thank you
I use this to crop them perfectly. Even gallery images, just use this to set wallpaper.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something here. But when I long press on home or go to the wallpaper settings in settings there is no live wallpaper setting? I downloaded a live wallpaper I really liked that I've used on multiple Androids in the past and cannot figure out how to get it set on the Tab S3. Any pointers? So far I'm coming up empty on googling.
Hello Aspexil,
for my Tab S3 I simply downloaded a app called Live Wallpaper Shortcut from someone called Ben Paul.
It is really nothing more, than a shortcut to the android live wallpaper screen selection.
Sucks that I need a separate app just to be able to use live walls
