Disable Power Genie on EMUI 10 - Honor 10 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I am on EMUI 9.1. On this version, I have uninstalled Power Genie.
It worked well, no more delays on notifications from whatsapp & others app.
Now, I got notification that EMUI 10 has ready to download & install.
Does anyone here who already on EMUI 10 knows if we are also able to uninstall power genie in this version?

disabling package is almost always possible with ADB

So, it's not depend on OS.
Thanks for your clarification.

You still can disable it via ADB.
But if disabling the launcher, you will lose the recent app.

Mediapad X1 Apps going to sleep in the background

Got a Mediapad X1 and it has its own memory manager apparently. There's a power manager app that lets you "Protect" apps from being killed in the background when the screen is off. (I though we we're finally over using task killers, come on Huawei), anyways. Some of the apps like Google Hangouts will still stop showing notifications after a while when the screen is off even thought it is listed as a protected app.
What's going on here? Just seems like the Protected App thing doesn't seem to work for everything. You certainly don't want texting app going to sleep.
Same here
I also see the same issue on my mediapad (unlocked, no contract, imported from Thailand): notifications are not being pushed to the interface by Skype, Telegram, Hangouts, and even some games that I receive regular announcements when running on my phone.
I checked the protected apps section and the notifications center sections, the apps are allowed in both.

Which version of the firmware are you on? It looks like this might be fixed in B010 and higher...

I am on the latest B011 and I am also experiencing the same issues. Google auto sync is very erratic, Gmail does not auto sync most of the time. Weather / calendar widgets do no refresh. I updated to official B011 recently before that I was on beta kit kat 320 dpi emui 2.3 and was happy. Any ideas what is happening?

Damn, I was hoping B011 would fix it. It's just a bad memory manager. Huawei decided to use a built in task killer to stop all apps that aren't "Protected" from running in the background.

Notifications!

Hi,
So i picked up a Mate 10 pro earlier in the week from Vodafone (UK) and have had a lot of trouble with notifications not coming through. I experienced the same a while back when i had a P9 a recall it was to do with the overzealous battery management in EMUI. With EMUI settings being different to that of the version on the P9, i've forgotten the steps that i need to go through to ensure that i get notifications from each app.
I've just switched back from a iphone 7 which "just worked" so hoping someone can help me!
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem, but for now I noted it only with Calendar application.
Notifications appear randomly, but most of the time none.
For now I "fixed" it with installing Today Calendar from app store, but I would rather enjoy in original application.
Edit: my phone is also Mate 10 Pro

Cannot install apps - install button not reacting

Hi,
in our company we use MobileIron to check the emails. MobileIron has an own app ([email protected]), which is similar to Play Store. From this app we can install the e-mail client (Nine Work or Email+) and the secure company browser ([email protected]), but on EMUI 9.0 it does not work.
We can see the install button in this app, but if we click on it, it does not do anything, so we can't install this apps.
Earlier we had a similar problem on Sony phones, when a custom theme was activated.
We tested it on a Huawei Mate 20 and on a Huawei Mate 20 pro, and we have a same issue.
what we tried:
- tried with default theme
- tried with guest profile
- tried with reseted phone
- unknown sources were always enabled
Something on these new phones preventing to press the install button in this app.
Any idea?
Do you have any app installed that can draw over your current screen? I had the same problem with a blue light filter app, took me hours to figure out. If any app draws something over your screen for security reasons the install button gets disabled.

Mate10Pro / Battery optimisation problem(delay)

hi,
After lock screen for more than few minutes, the screen wake up stop working.
Anyone has any suggestion to fix the problem? I have so far tried "ignore battery optimization" and "launch manually".
THe app tells me to use protected apps but I do not see anywhere in EMUI settings.
It did not work. ''Special access>Ignore optimisations''
It did not work. '' Launch manually''
It did not work. ''I changed my google and instagram accounts.''
especially I am having trouble with instagram and facebook notifications.
Whatsapp notifications are working normally. The phone in the service changed but not resolved. This huawei problem.
Please help me.
EMUI is likely killing off background apps for you, in the name of battery optimization. If rooted, disable the Power Genius app using either Titanium Backup or Service Disabler, and reboot. If not rooted, you can try disabling Power Genius via adb, but I'm not sure it will work.

Mediapad M5 but issues like this are specific to all EMUI models. For me, disabling Power Genius prevented Google Maps from getting killed off in the background, and also got rid of bugs related to bluetooth music playback..

Mate 10 Pro, EMUI 9, No notifications problem

I just updated to EMUI 9.0 on my Mate 10 Pro. I did a wipe data and cache to be sure to not have bugs etc.
But I'm having problem with notifications of majority of apps.
I can receive notifications from Aqua Mail (push disabled), sometimes Whatsapp (not always), but not Telegram and some other apps.
I disabled settings in Settings->Battery->App launch e I setted them all in manage manually.
I disabled battery optimization for all the app of which I don't receive notifications.
I obviously not activated battery saving mode (I also tried performance mode)
I rebooted phone more than once.
I also tried to keep the app open in foreground (in recent apps), but nothing.
I noticed that when I open the app that didn't give me notifications it loads the messages or emails, there are not loaded in background, I need to open the app and make them load to make them appear.
Am I the only one with this problem?

I first did a factory reset from settings.
Then I entered recovery menu and did a wipe data + wipe cache.
How did you enter recovery? What's the combination? I was able to enter it in EMUI 8 but I'm not on EMUI 9
Not alone

You are not alone there is a host of problems with the new update and this device.
I have same problem you speak of but it doesnt stay consistent. Sometimes i will get the notifications and another time i have to open the app. On my mate 9 i only get whatsapp notifications when i load the app and my third party apps do not work once the screen goes off.
Both devices now have an end call issue where another call is automatically sent out when i end the previous call.
The i am sent to the recent apps window in the midle of typing in whats app or fb messenger or automatically returned to home screen while browsing
I also have this problem with my Huawei Mate 10 Pro. A lot of my apps don't show notifiactions even though they are turned on and all setup is correct. Very enoying. However, some apps show notifications though.
