Anyone else has unwanted noise when the loudspeakers are on?
I can hear static noise, especially low volume. Headphones work flawlessly.
Didnt do anything, got the phone a week ago and have it since. Especially annoying when listening to audiobooks. Happens as soon as I hear audio (games, youtube, audible, etc)
Is this defective on my part or is the loudspeaker so **** that everyone has this?
No noise here

Hi,
I just got my Dell Streak last week, and I love it (except the akwardness when you hold it up to use it as a phone... lol). However, the sound quality through the headphone jack is pretty unacceptable... I have Googled around and found similar problems with other users (too much static and hissing, even when the volume is off). I tried using two different pairs of headphones (the included ones, and some Meelec M9s), and they both produce the hissing noise, which is not present at all with my iPod touch (which I wanted to replace with the Streak). Is there some app solution to this, or would I be better off trying to get a new phone?
Thanks!
With music, or calls?

Both, with a headset (can't tell for normal calls, but I don't really care too much with calls, I only really care about when I'm listening to music).
From my experience it's due to the 3.5mm out not really being boosted, I have the home dock and audio out from that is boosted with more power, vast improvement. Not sure if the 2.2.2 update addresses it, but I think there are some rooms on here that address it.
If it's boosted, wouldn't that cause more noise since noise will also be boosted?
I'm having the same problem. Hissing noise in the background. I also got mine couple days ago. I bought it when it was $200 unlocked from dell.
I'm on stock 347. I should have tested the earphone when I had 351.
It makes the hissing noise in music, internet radio, wherever sound is being played. It has a constant level of hiss noise even if I raise the music volume or reduce it to minimum.
Didn't try with 347 but I don't have this issue with 351.
Hello
Im having a problem with my s3 sound quality during a call, both with my bluetooth car kit and the phone speaker. On my bluetooth car kit, the sound is to low, even after i set it up to max on the phone and on the radio and the other person does hear me fine (it uses the mic from the car) but i can barely hear the other person.
The other issue is also during a call, if i put it to speaker ( which i did after i couldnt hear anything on bluetooth), the sound is still to low and i can barely understand what the other person is saying.
Its very annoying and its the first phone where this happens, even cheaper phones i had didn't had these issues. So i was wondering if anyone knows a solution for this? I thought of doing this sound mod- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136 - but im not sure if it works and im also afraid to set the volume to high and break the speaker. I also thought about the "acid audio mod", but i think thats just for music quality.
Thank you for your time
So I just got this phone recently, its the C6833 and when I am on the Speakerphone with someone it starts to crackle.
However when I listen to music its fine, that's really strange I think.
Is there a different speaker within that one speaker at the bottom for calls and a different one for Music?
If someone could please help me out on this I would really appreciated it.
Do you mean cracking and buzzing (interference) in phone call speaker ? My C6833 does buzzing and cracking .. and not only when I make a call .... but everytime. I hear it anytime I put my phone to ear. I think there is GSM antena, WiFi etc. and it is not shielded enough.
You have 2 speakers on your phone ... One is for phone calls and the other is for music, loudspeaker ...
I dont know what to do ... It is propably HW problem ... I dont want to be without my phone for few weeks

Yea like a cracking sound, but like I said it Only happens when I am on speakerphone making a call, when I listen to music its perfectly fine.
The Music and phone calls when on Speaker Phone come out of the same speaker at the bottom of the phone.
Also when I talk on the normal phone when making a phone call with the phone to my ear, I can hear perfectly.
Very very odd.
I have a static noise coming out of my speaker. I can hear it during
speaker phone calls and when playing music with the volume very very low. Try playing your music and turn down the volume and see if you can hear the noise.

Well when I play my music low like you said to do, I can hear a bit of static but no Crackling sounds.
When I turn up the music its clear with no crackling sound , its Only when making a phone call through the speaker phone.
I even tried to plug in earphones while making a call, and its perfectly clear, which sort of rules out static or reception.
The only thing I am wondering is if the small speaker at the bottom of the phone has two built in speakers within One speaker, one for the Music and one for the Speakerphone would be the only thing logical I could think of.
I think the static noise is always there but you can only hear it when it's quiet or the volume is low. There should only be one speaker. If you put your finger over it you should be able to figure out which one it is. I think the static noise it's a software problem does anyone have any idea?
Hi, I am also facing same trouble, so could you let me know how you resolve it?
I had this problem before. It should be a software issue. I was about to send it in for repair so I did a master reset of everything. The problem went away.. Saved me a trip.
Hi,
I noticed that when connecting my phone to the car AUX there's a lot of hissing/static noise in the background, and it doesn't matter what app I use to play music.
I didn't have this problem with my previous phone (Oneplus One).
When using my Bluetooth headphone the noise is gone and the sound is clear.
Does anyone else experience this?
Also, I find the sound quality pretty flat and I'm looking for a good EQ, like the AudioFX I had on the Oneplus One. Tried many by now and all were crap...
Can anyone recommend a good EQ?
Thanks
I experience similar thing when I use earphones during call. I hear some mix of hissing, rustle noise that is very annoying.
During call mostly I don't hear any sound from other side until he/she started to speak. Very weird. Like some kind of noise reduction or cancellation is turned on.
When I turn on wind noise reduction I can hear other side all the time but hissing noise is constant.
I thought it was earphones problem but it happens with several different earphones.
Currently I use Honor engine AM12 Plus earphones.
I would like to hear some suggestions.
Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
Have been using my J8110 with Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus which was working really well, suddenly since yesterday I'm having an issue where the sound quality becomes really poor over bluetooth whilst in a call(including whatsapp, & signal calls), crisp sound quality as before when playing media music etc however as soon as I dial a call I can hear distorted background noise and sound becomes high pitched at the same time the person on the other end can't hear me too well. It's not the galaxy buds as I tested with 2 different phones and it worked fine. Also enabled developer settings and played around with the bluetooth codec/rate etc nothing has helped Anyone had similar experiences or ideas on how it might be fixed?
