My v30 dropped from hand not from high but now I am facing so problem. Touch issues specially. Sometimes touch hanging and response after four or five press. While typing one letter pressing so many times but I pressed one time. When scrolling Facebook pressed while scrolling and many problem.
I did factory reset but same.
Please help.
Sorry to hear that. We have to assume that the digitizer broke when you dropped the phone. This can't be fixed with software or factory reset.
You can send it in to LG for repair, which usually costs ~$150 in these cases (if you're in USA). Or you can buy a used, good condition V30 on eBay for about the same amount.
Of course you can also look at repairing it yourself. I believe the digitizer is part of the screen assembly.

Hi all,
Has anyone experience with a problem when the touch screen intermittently works, especially when you press/hold hard on the sides of the face of the phone. Without pressing down on the side, the top menu (start... x) most of the time are either unresponsive or respond as if you press elsewhere on the screen.
I'm thinking of open up the phone later tonight to troubleshoot, guessing the screen digitizer is loose or, HOPEFULLY NOT, cold solder somewhere. But if you'd heard or faced this problem before or even have an idea on what has caused the problem, I'd like to hear from you. Please help!
Thanks!
Adding info
Oh yeah, did I forget to say that not just the top of the screen, the middle part as worst. The only part of the screen is still responsive is the bottom. If I press down or punctual around the face of the phone tightly enought(?), I'd be able to have the good touch screen for a little while (5... 10 minutes) before it gone weird again.
Fixed... for now
Well, I jammed a couple of thin plastic to the bottom of the screen within the housing facelet behind the t-mobile logo... and it works... for now.
I still intend to disassemble the dawn thing as soon as I realize such quick fix has become unpractical or no longer work.
I will check back to this post again, so if you are interested, don't hesitate to reply, I'll try anything when desperate.
How long have you had the phone?
How do you carry it around?
If you got the phone recently and started carrying it around by putting it in your pants pocket, then you find the screen sometimes doesn't work well, those facts are related. A couple of years ago people used to always complain about this, and some recommended rubbing your finger firmly around all edges of the screen for a temporary fix. Others recommended forcing a business card under the metal at the edges of the screen. I got a leather belt case for mine, and the problem went away.
If you've had the phone for years and it just now started acting up, the problem might be related to a cable, connection, or something. There is a wizard service manual online. I've used its instructions to replace a screen, with no bad issues.
Good luck with your phone. The wizard is a bit old, but still pretty nice.
Hello! For about 2 month the display of my HD2 randomly stoped responding to my inputs, but came back to normal operations after a while. At last (last week) it seemed to be out out function completly. After one and a half day not beeing able to use the phone ( I did a hard reset, switched it off for over an hour ), i send it back to my dealer. Today i got a letter in which they tell me the display is supposed to be broken, as consequence of incorrect handling. They want me to pay over 200 Euros for the repair. Additionally the send me an internet link where i can see a picture of a little crack in the buttom left corner of the display (not the glass).
First thing is, that (as i think) if this had been there before the display would have been fully unuseable, whithout resuming normal operations. Is this right?
Second I wonder how that can happen? Wouldn't the glass break to if some outer force breaks the display?
And last but not least. Can this crack have been there before invisible and gotten bigger during transport or so?
I dont want to imply it is theire fault, but I feel a bit deceived.
I hope my english isn't as bad, as I suspect...
Mine is currently in on warranty repair for what sounds like the same fault. It seems to be common with the HD2, I've seen several other posts from users with the same problem.
Worth pointing out to them you know its a common problem and that the minor casing damage is unrelated (and possibly occurred during shipping).
i had a break in the glass and the touchscreen was functional... till i crushed it even more in my pocket...
Good Day folks, here is the long and short of it.
Galaxy s 2 fell and the screen broke
I bought a new screen
Replaced the screen BUT two big problems occured.
1. The screen appears to have less colours than my original screen
2. NONE OF THE SOFT KEYS WORK, HOME, MENU AND BACK DO NOT WORK.
Number 2. is the big problem. Does anyone have any idea how these buttons work?
Even when I press the buttons directly with my fingers with the buttons off they still do not work.
Im baffled. Please help.
I also have attached pictures of the button area
It happened to me, I removed the screen, I replaced from beginning and it worked...
Hi Collado, do the white things behind the buttons have any electronic functionality or are those just things to make it stick?
To all future readers. I found out what the problem was. Basically,
The home, back and menu keys are all connected to a single ribbon. It appears there is a tiny piece, connected via the back key. That was torn while i was ripping off the the screen and digitizer.
See the picture attached
How much did you pay for your replacement screen and where did you get it. My digitizer is broken due to a drop. My front glass is perfect but the digitizer is completey shot. How difficult was this project?
Hi Johnboy
I cant remember the price of the digitizer offhand but make a check on ebay.. that is where i got it.
Difficulty is high as you need the minature tool set to do this effectively and a gentle touch.
However, it still appears as though the screen I bought has less colours.
Sorry to jump in and unintended hijack
I also dropped my S2 and cracked the screen, and after checking around dropped it in to the Geek Squad at CPW. Who duly replaced the screen and digitizer for £80. Only problem is the screen seems less bright and if moved off the central viewing angle the screen dims, as if it wasa standard lcd and not the orginal AMOLED screen. Does anyone know if they make lesser screens or was it fitted badly.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
DM.
I would go back with it and complain. If you dont get satisfaction then do an impression of the guy that goes into the pizza shop in "rise of the foot-soldier" film.

I had an atrix given to me today from a friend who got a new one.
The screen looks crystal clear and works fine. The phone has no visible signs of abuse. Everything looks good.
The top 1/3 of the screen just will not respond to touch. I tried a factory reset to see if it was an app conflict and it's still the same.
I downloaded a kid's drawing app to get an idea of what part of the screen was out and EVERYTHING is working except for about the top inch.
Any ideas? Is this hardware or some software flaw in the phone. The person still has insurance until the end of this month and I can pay the 100 to get a replacement.
Sounds like a problem with the digitizer so you might need to replace it. The digitizer is a very common issue with the Atrix and MANY people here have had their phone replaced two or three times simply because some parts of their screen stop responding to touches.
Thanks. Was hoping it was a software issue. But as I said, it was a free phone. Maybe I can sell it as parts on ebay. I don't really want it bad enough to pay the 100 replacement fee.
If I were you, I'd avoid the Atrix because there is no guarantee that it won't happen again even if you replace the digitizer or get a replacement. This phone could be Motorola's worst phone, quality-wise.
you can purchase one on ebay.

I am really afraid of this problem. I hope it doesn't die on me before my contract is finished. Atrix will be my last Motorola phone.
Hey guys I bought a used note 2 VZW
long story short the screen was busted and I repaired it, the screen is unresponsive to touch (it will respond
but it's very iffy usually having to tap on the screen pretty hard to get it to recognize the finger.) it was spazzing out too
with nothing else touching the screen i turned on show pointer location and it was moving extremely rapidly up and down
the left side of the screen.
but when the S-Pen is removed and used it works fine.
the replacement part i used was for the VZW model number i605/L900 is it possible the replacement part had a bad digitizer?
all pins/connecters were seated with care. it worked fine for about 3 weeks, then Bam. no dice, any way if anyone is interested
in it pm me, i've got a note 3 on order from BestBuy.
I'm giving up on buying used and repairing them, i'd rather buy new at discounted prices. than pay near full price (including replacement
parts repair it and it still be screwed.)
