Hi,
i don't like the standard dialer theme. Can someone make new ones ? Or port some over for the defy ? Or tell me how to do that ?
thanks
i donĀ“t know how to make or port it.
But i found dialer2 in the market.
Test it. it looks nice
thanks for dialer2, looks nice enough for now. But if you make a call you still see the original dialer

I can hook u up, what are you looking for exactly?
a dial pad that looks black, and not so glossy. like the minimal matte one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726912
tried to metamorph contacts.apk for dialer, but the defy has no contacts.apk
I have the Gingerstock theme from JB3 installed. Something in yellow would be cool so that matches the theme.
Is your phone rooted? If so, can you pull a copy of your dialer for me so I can edit?
Use root explorer, go to /system/app. Grab blurdialer.apk, long hold and copy. move copy yo sd card and attach here

sounds great, here it is. It's from my system. I'm using the orange rom
3.4.2_131-003_Deblur_Sign if that is helpful

Hey sorry, got busy at work... I'll grab it now and work on it, stay tuned for post. I'll try to get it as best as possible, but I ddi find while themeing mine, you cannot change the actual numbers only the back grounds. Stupid blur!
I'm going in blind, so not sure exactly how this looks or what managed to change. So do as I say and check it out, whatever you want fixed I'll redo it... Try it out though.
-Grab the apk from the attachment
-Put BlurDialer.apk on your SD card
-Using Root Explorer, Move this apk to /system
-Once in /System, long hold the apk, and hit permissions. Check boxes should look like this:
Read Write Execute
X
X
So essentially an upside down L.
- Once permissions have been changed, long hold the apk and paste in /System/app , hit yes to overwrite.
- Backout to home screen and reboot.
Let phone completely load up, then go into your dialer and see the changes.
Please report back with what needs to be fixed or what color arrangement you'd like different.
Otherwise enjoy!
Yeah ! thank you ! looks great ! Now it much better integrates in the theme.
I took screenshots with an app. The SDK for 2.2 won't install. It says that i have to install Java SDK, what i already did
So how you did it ? Is there a way to get inside the apk ? As you can see in screenshot 5 there is already red when i pressed the button. Can this changed also to yellow ? I ask because this "red" goes to the whole system. It is in the browser when he loads a site, it's there when i changed the volume and so on. I would like to edit more so that the system has one theme
When there is no way to theme the dialer buttons, is it possible to install the original contacts.apk ? I asked this in another thread too.
Don't forget the Thanks button!
Try this one, I made some more edits, need to see if it is the correct one for the button push. I don't believe there is a way to install the contacts.apk.
To theme the file you need to get into the apk, remove the res folder, theme in the drawable-hdpi and ten put the pieces back together. You can google for files to do so. I dont 't mind helping you..
I wonder how the yellpw in the status bar would look
Anyways, try this and see what differences there is.
Think I found a way to theme that even more. Give me a minute and i'll repost
For Honeycomb Theme
Here you go, this one should look even better.
Congo,
How does it look?
looks great ! thanks.have no time at the moment. Take some screenshot tomorrow
Good deal, look forward to checking it out
I get the sdk to run
Here are two screenshots

It depends on exactly what you are trying to do... The main ones will be blurdialer, blurres and framewrok-res, but you have to be very careful with what you are doing. There are .9.pngs in these fiales that need to be decompiled and patched.... It's a lot if work at first until you get the hang of it. There is a full theme guid here on xda on the main board, under hacking then themes. If it sounds excruciating, just tell me exactly what you want and I am happy to do it.
Can someone tell me how I can make an APK so i can install fonts on my SGS2 and select them in the font app the came with the phone?
I do not want zips for flashing as I do not desire to change the system default font, but rather the option to add more choices.
I tried taking a look at some of the other font apks I have downloaded but have not been able to ascertain how they are made so that I can recreate.
I made a couple of own font .apks based on this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745345
First time will take a while till you finish it and get it to work, but once you get the hang of it, you make own flipfonts like a machinegun
And flipfonts are the ones that appear under Settting - Display - Screen Display - Fontstyle? so I can change them around without the "hack" of overwritting Droid Sans and having to reboot?
Because I have the Fontomizer SP app installed which also comes with a slew of fonts which are installed like any regular app and they show up in "Font Style" and I can swap around without ever having to reboot. And thats what I want to do to with "my own" font APK's as well.

Is there anyway to hide the icons that come up when you have a MicroSD or the keyboard dock, I like to keep a nice tidy statusbar and having 2 icons there permanently kinda ruins that.

Only way I found is to turn off Notifications on the Stock ICS Quick Settings Panel. But that turns off ALL notifications. I guess it's not so much of a big deal really. I'll probably get used to it until someone finds out how to.
Someone could delete the icons for the notifications.

Yeah, decompile the systemui.apk, delete or change the .png files (guess if your just replacing, you don't have to decompile), recomplie .apk, push to phone via adb or copy/paste via Root explorer.
BUT then it is still savings space for those icons even if you make them empty png files no? That is, does the xml file look for the png and set a size for it like 50px x 75px so it would still hold a 50px space or does it not care about the image size so you could go to a 1x1 empty png?

XML shouldn't consider size at all, just .PNG name. That being said, you could also remove reference from the applicable .XML file (have to find it first) and that should take care of it all together. At least in theory. I think????

Is this something that is easier to achieve now that the unlocked bootloader is released or does that have no bearing on this mod?

Sure, just remember that if you unlock you will never receive another update or support OF ANY KIND from Asus.

Thread bump! I'm interested in doing this, but don't really know where to start. Do you have a n00b guide you could link me to, to read up on decompiling apks, editing XML files, and identifying which I should be editing? Particularly, if I could edit the aforementioned XML file not only to not know the icons but possibly to not display the message and icons to begin with, I'd be thrilled. Next step would be figuring out how to make an app for that, although I'd imagine it would need root and would also be a whole new can of worms for me to open. =P
The dev for the Energy ROM Series has developed a way to swipe away these notifications and it will be implemented in the next update. Of course this requires you to be unlocked so you can flash it but trust me, once you unlock your Prime and start flashing roms you'll really see how the Prime SHOULD perform.

Do you think it's possible to make a recovery zip install with just this feature?

It is, but then you'd have to deodex your ROM (because most of the code changes are in the framework wiles). At that point, you might as well install a custom ROM.
And guys... simply putting up blank PNGs won't do the trick. The notification will be even more ugly to look at, because it'll be an empty space that you can't get rid of.
The way I did it is modify the java code for a few system apps to make the notifications dismissible. More elegant that way and I still don't understand why Asus didn't do this to begin with !!
Solution for CROMI based roms!
I have written an aroma backup/installer for your SystemUI and Transformer files that are used in the CROMI rom by sbdags. The actual work of the mod goes to elesbb at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111142.
My installer will successfully backup files so you could test on any rom
Links to this installer is at:

Heey guys last week I made my own uccw clock and I really like it.
I thought it looked great on nova launcher. it looks almost the same as this clock only you have another weather icon and the font is bit smaller but feel free to edit everything !
http://mycolorscreen.com/2013/05/29/clean-white-minimal-sense-like/
download the file attached in this post after you have downloaded put uccw clock skin.uzip in the uccwoutput folder on your phone. now go back to your homescreen then add a widget choose uccw. tab uzip scroll down to uccwoutput and choose uccw clock skin.uzip
tadaa now you have it
sorry i had now idea how to give it to you guys thanks to @nightwalkerkg i maked it work the file is now an .zip so extract it to uccwouput folder then the clock should work !!!
Nice,i plan to start making them,do you have any tutorial i could use ?
Great work.
I couldn't find the uzip file I did found a. uccw file which I renamed to. Uzip using es file explorer but just got a fc of uccw and a blank white widget any help
There is no uzip, just extract the files from the zip into the UltimateCustomClockWidget folder on sdcard. I don't think they go into uccwOutput folder. I will test it now to see.
EDIT: I am gettin skin deleted error. I will check what is going on. @NigelDX if you have this skin on your phone, open it in uccw, click on save and then save as uzip and upload that.
Also you can use this tutorial to make apk out of the skin.
Sorry guys if im right it works now ! let me know.
EDIT: if you are planning on using it for nova launcher the best look you get when you put width margin of medium and height margin on none

This would be great since it would more easily allow you to select the correct version of your saved theme.
you mean preview to see where you are up to ? if you want a preview of the home screen, simply copy your wallpaper too your pc,rename it the same name as your theme,ie if theme is called new then rename the pic new, then copy it back over to my colortheme/exported/thumbs

You can also just rename it in your File Explorer if you have one installed. We are working on a way of improving this feature soon.

Hi kwest12,
Unfortunately not yet. The front end of Themer will always receive more attention than the editing side. I'll speak to the developers today about this and see how easy it would be to implement. I agree it does make things a lot easier, however the process to implement this can be very complicated.

Broken screen.... transfer modified theme help
I shattered my old phone's screen, so I cannot see anything from the phone. However, I can look at the SD card from my computer (the external is is my new phone). I would like to import a theme that I extensively modified on my old phone. I thought I had saved it/exported it... I guess I did not, as I see no files in the directory mentioned in previous posts.
From what I can see on my computer, it looks like the theme I worked on exists on the internal SD card. However, it is not neatly compiled in a .zip file. Is there a correct way to move these files over to my new phone so that I can use this theme without re-modifying everything?
Thank you!

When you export a file - it's saved in the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/Themer/Exported/zip folder as a .zip file. All you need to do a place this file (don't extract it) into the same place on another phone. If that folder isn't there - export any theme in order for Themer to create the zip folder.
