I have 3 questions
1) is it legal/valid to flash miui China alpha ROM unofficially?For example...if an mi account is not a alpha/beta tester....can he flash it unofficially.... Bcoz there is a thread for this in xda....so external link is available(for 2-3 devices)....assume I unlock my Bootloader...and I know how to flash fastboot ROMS...
2)if it is valid...then can I log in with the mi account which I had with the normal stable ROM?
3) if the update is from August/September .2017..can I update it till the latest miui China alpha ROM of 2018?

What i know is that you can flash the official chinese builds available on miui website, without any problems. But i am not sure about fastboot.
(About 2 3 months ago i flashed the chinese (3+32gb) build and it worked fine, except everyt was in Chinese and no gapps were installed)
This means alpha roms are not available in English?

Hi All!
I am using Redmi Note 4 (Indian version) since March 2017.
I updated to MIUI 10.1.1.0 through system update 2 days ago.
Earlier, my phone ran on MIUI 9.6 Global | 9.6.2.0 (NCFMIFD).
My phone is not rooted.
Like many others, I installed Google Camera as I was unhappy with the camera app provided by Xioami. I have been using the version Google Camera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2 v8.3b for quite some time.
To install Google Camera, I unlocked the bootloader. After installation, I again locked the bootloader just to be safe.
There were no issues with the Google Camera app and I was happy with it.
However, after update to MIUI Global 10.1 | 10.1.1.0 Stable (NCFMIFI), the Google Camera stopped working. All I can see is black screen, when I run the Google Camera app. I am very disappointed with the update. I've searched a lot and realized that Google camera doesn't work in MIUI 10. Is there a work around for Google Camera on MIUI 10.1?
Camera2 probe app displays 'Level_3' under 'Hardware level support category'. 'Full', 'Limited' & 'Legacy' are all marked as 'X'.

As per what I read online, I need to downgrade to MIUI 9 to be able to use Google Camera app.
Now, I have a doubt as to which version of MIUI 9 I need to download.
The official website of MIUI says the latest version of MIUI for Redmi Note 4 as V9.5.3.0.MBFMIFA (MIUI9), whereas the MIUI version on my phone prior to the update was 9.6 Global | 9.6.2.0 (NCFMIFD).
Which version of MIUI 9 do I need to download for a successful downgrade from MIUI 10.1??
Also, I read that the entire 64 GB of my phone storage would get erased during the downgrade.
So, is there a way to backup and restore all my phone data?

You need to search for a fastboot rom for it. either 9.6.3.0 images
Download 9.6.3.0
The one you saw I think is for Nickel(MTK Variant) yours is SD variant
U should download rom for Redmi Note 4X which is Indian variant!

Unfortunately, the mi backup & reset tool in MIUI didn't take the backup of my contacts and some other apps. However, I exported my contacts as a safety measure before flashing and it saved me.

Fed up with this stock android ****, no I'm ok with the lack of customisation ..but the way Xiaomi is treating this brand the with all the bugs and mistakes in update I'm hoping to ..shift to the miui OS. But have some questions
1. When will I get the stable MI UI 12 for the mi a3
2. Will the camera 2 Api thing will be enabled by default on it like the stock android one rom
3. Once I'm on mi ui - 12 will I receive the OTA updates by default or il have to install them manually ?

4. bootloader unlocking does not void the warranty, bricking your device due to your own fault might be refused by service center as a warranty repair
Not sure why do you expect MIUI to be bug free, it has even more bugs/design failures than clean Android. If at all, I would move to Pixel devices (which are not bug free either though).

Not officially (not on locked bootloader, no OTA, no support by Xiaomi,..). Maybe someone will port it, but it's not as stable as stock ROM.

1) When xiaomi cc9e get the official miui 12, someone will port to mi a3
2) All new xiaomi`s phone have camera 2api enabled
3) Xiaomi Mi A3 with miui doesn´t have mota updates, all updates will have to install manually with recovery
4) recently xiaomi said that unlock bootloader not unable the warranty but, I think that depend of where do you buy the phone.
I use miui in my mi a3 and i dont have any problem. I think that is better than android stock in mi a3. miui is better with amoled display for me.

I have an idea that xaomi won't give official miui12 update to an android one phone, what I actually meant was when will I be able to install it on mi a3.
Secondly ...do i will have to install a ported version only, what about the stock vesrion for the MI CC9 the Chinese veriant of this phone ?

Miui 12 Mi A3 (Ported!)
Hello everyone!
Looking on net I found something interesting.
A ported version of the Mi 9cce to the Mi A3, I tested it on my device, but did not recognize the simcard, consequently the mobile data and also did not recognize wifi.
And when you hold the button to turn off the menu does not appear.

Mi A3 is the third phone from Xiaomi's A series. And some people are still buying Android One devices to install MIUI on it!!!! Then they expect official MIUI release with OTA updates..... LOL

it is not miui 12, it is the rom xiaomi.eu cover of the cc9e, of miui 11 with apps of miui 12, and the edited build.pro
I have tested it and it works perfectly, also it has just released a v6 version

I realized after installing that there were a few different things but the basics were the same.
I have the V6 installed at the moment.
I thought it was better but I would still like Miui 12.

Installed and being trying it for 3 days now. Everything works perfectly. For my day to day usage I can't say I've noticed any big differences from MIUI 11 (I was using xiaomi.eu 11.0.11.0). Usage does feel smoother and the battery does last longer, although I have no documented evidence to show. I removed the bloatware as per the 11.0.10.0 guide and I've found no bugs. All in all I'm happy with this ROM.
Edit: Just wanted to meantion the MIUI camera app. There are no added features. No clone mode and no kaleidoscope mode. The only difference from the MIUI 11 camera app is the new MIUI 12 visual.

The fastboot version is installed via MiFlash whilst the phone is in fastboot mode. Use this to flash "as new".
The recovery version is like an OTA update (I think. Never used one).
I don't know which version is better (global vs eea) because I flash as a base for custom roms.

For anyone else wondering, the Turkish fastboot ROM (QJWTRXM) installs fine on a global Note 9S (QJWMIXM). Everything works as far as I can tell, and all the languages are there (though call recording isn't, at least in the default Google Dialer app).

Recovery is the "OTA" ROM you install with MIUI's built-in update mechanism or a custom recovery like TWRP. Fastboot is a bit more low-level, you restart your phone into fastboot mode, connect it to a computer and use a program that manually overwrites the data on the phone's partitions, a bit like using dd on Linux or disk cloning/backup software. There's also EDL mode, which is the same as fastboot but it's built into the hardware itself, so it works even if you manage to brick fastboot somehow. On recent Xiaomi phones, it requires an authorized Mi account (or a patched ROM, or someone willing to sell you authorizations over the internet).
Global and EEA are pretty much the same thing, but EEA ROMs are intended for the European Economic Area (the EU) so they have to comply with additional regulations like having to let you choose your browser and search engine or something. As a side note, I live in the EU and pretty much every store over here is selling the Global variant of the 9S instead of the EEA one. Global ROMs are "better" in the sense that they tend to be more up to date (as of me writing this, global is on MIUI V11.0.11 and EEA is still stuck on V11.0.4).
I got a new k50 ultra and having a wired issue where I can't open the updater in about phone my miui version coming out of the box is 13.0.5 I tried a fix I found of using activity launcher but it didn't work I didn't even find the updater any ideas on how to fix this?
Since the bootloader is unlocked flash the rom with the twrp.

If you have a K50 ultra with a global rom the bootloader is necessarily unlocked.

this link contain Chinese rom for k50 ultra not global ,
so if i flash the global ones of 12t pro into k50 , it will breakdown the camera , on other side flashing Chinese rom cause bundle of problem like whatsapp no receiving message until open and draining of battery more ,
i try the chinese one and that what happened with me , then when try 12t pro camera stopped .
could you please provide me with global rom 14 miui with working camera for k50 ultra , if not exist please provide me with the rom 13.0.5.0 slfmxim global for k50 ultra that shown in image submitted by ahx-md because i lost it when flashing

i tried it and its flashed on my device 14.0.7 diting but its china and i face the problems i mentioned above

There is no global rom for the k50 ULTRA, these CN based roms work perfectly, camera included
this one is global that came with device when i bought it , i need it if you can!

Now after flashing china rom that in links you provided . I face problems with battery draining and some app like whatsapp not work in background and not receiving messages if it is not opened so i want to back to my old global rom 13.0.5 or any global rom updated
