Long story short, my phone took a swim and the display is dead. The phone boots and all appears to be working fine, just no display. I can see the file system when plugged into computer.
I've searched around quite a bit and unable to find the best process to use to perform a factory reset without seeing the display? Any guidance is greatly appreciated. I want to perform a factory reset prior to selling the device.

I bought a new Galaxy Note 3 and loving it - but would like to depart from my Galaxy Note 2 with a factory reset. Any utilities out there that I can use without the display working?
It's safe to assume you didn't enable "remote wipe" within Android Device Manager before it took a dive?
You should at least be able to use Odin to restore the factory image without any touchscreen interaction.
Hi everyone,
i have a rooted Kindle Fire HDX 7" which is kind of softbricked. Maybe even hardbricked but my knowledge doesnt reach that far to determine.
Here's the thing. I already got in touch with Amazon, they checked my Amazon Account and were pleased to send me a new Kindle since i still got warranty on it.
Okay so far so good.
But here comes the real deal.
I'm pretty sure my warranty doesnt really cover the whole root -> brick story.
I told the Lady that after a factory reset the Tablet keeps trying to start the Setup over and over again. Which is indeed the case. I did not mention anything else.
So. My plan was, since i'm still able to go into safestrap recovery, to delete everything that could point out that the Tablet was rooted. Atleast on the first view.
TL.DR:
Is it possible to delete Safestrap/TWRP via the Terminal Command?
I know you can browse through the Tablet, but i couldnt find where the Folders are located.
Even if the Tablet doesnt Boot at all after deletion, i wouldnt mind.
Cause then i could still keep my new Tablet and hope they cant find anything on the broken one.
Hope anyone can help me.
If it is hard to understand what i meant i can give you further informations.
It's kind a hard for me to describe such technical things in a foreign language.
If you can access safestap, you can unbrick your device mate.
Well i kind of tried everything possible.
It's not on topic but i can describe what i did, maybe it helps other to not do the same mistake.
I had my Kindle rooted on 13.3.2.4 with the HDX Toolkit.
Everything worked fine since one day the Google Store stopped working.
Well at that time i wasnt using the Tablet on a daily basis so i didnt mind much and got a little off touch with the whole rooting thing, and the do's and dont's.
Then after a couple of weeks i got a bit frustrated over the fact that the integrated Prime Video Streaming is so out of date, that you cant even watch movies USK18 or switch languages within the Movie.
So i decided to use the Kindle as it was meant to by amazon and remove everything.
I really shouldve read more about the prodecure, i know that now.
But here's what i did:
1. Wiped and Removed my non-StockROM
2. Booted on StockROM and did a Factory Reset
3. Sh#t got weird so i went into recovery and wiped the StockROM aswell
4. Now i can still go into Recovery, but when i try to Boot i kind of dont have a FIrmware installed. It trys to re-do the Setup where you have to choose ur language over and over again.
So by now i already know what i should've done instead.
But at this point; my Kindle doesnt get recognized by my PC nor by ADB.
And i dont know what i can do with the Safestrap Recovery at the beginning.
So far, any more ideas?
Should i still try to unbrick it or just wipe my fingerprints off of it and hope i can keep the new one.

So you can open safestap ? If you can, then try ADB on a Linux/Mac machine. It will work. Windows has a problem with the drivers. Also I am not sure about this, but if you access the stock kindle recovery and do a factory reset from there, you might wipe safestap.
I have a Teclast X98 Pro dual boot (Android and Windows).
I did a Factory Reset in Settings on the Android side and it is in an erase loop (still, after about 2 days).
I've been advised to use a custom Rom. Problem is that although I can find one I don't know what to do.
Do I need to root first? CAN I root if I don't have a working Android OS (I assume it has been partially erased).
I don't want to risk doing more damage until I know exactly what to do.
Any and all helpful suggestions will be appreciated. Best solution would be a completed Factory Reset so I have a known start point for rooting and custom Rom but ANYTHING to get me out of this mess!
P. S. I can still boot into Windows OR the erase loop in Android.
Although I would still like answers to the a one, the urgency has gone. I left my tablet plugged in. After TWO days erasing my tablet decided to restore to Chinese bloat Condition!
While I am extremely grateful I am baffled why it should take so long. Perhaps it was not erasing the few apps I had on it up was instead taking its time adding all the bloat ware! I'll never know. Thanks for reading. At least this might help someone who gets the same problem.
Hi, i have little (or maybe big) problem with my Vienna. Yesterday phone asked for Wireless Update and i allowed it. So Update started to install, almost finished it. But at the end it just gave error and rebooted and then there is just Ulefone logo after what it gives No command error and just continues to bootloop. I tried to wipe cache through recovery and even factory reset. It just wipes my data and thats it. No factory reset. I cant restore backup either. It just says no SD card. I'm kinda new Android user, so i dont know what to do next. Kinda frustrated about that update. It basically bricked my phone. Anyways phone is running stock 5.1 version. Thanks who can help me with this :fingers-crossed:

This had happened to me too. Try to update it again trough sd card by getting into recovery mode (youll find vids how to get into recovery mode). The 6.0 version isnt very good (it can hanlde more apps though, I have ~500 apps). BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY; after the upgrade factory restet the phone (more than once would, I think, better). I didnt do that and I think I should, since that may enable me now to get again in recovery mode (yeah, now buttons dont work, Ive to do this via PC), my phone maybe would be more compatible with PCs and I may was able to root it. By the way, there is another xda forum about ulefone vienna where you could get more answers and Im not a professional. I hope I helped (with some months delay).
Hello. I am having some serious trouble with my mother's G620S, which had recently started to "restart" itself out of nowhere, almost once every 1 minute. Putting restart between marks because it didn't restart completely, basically it just showed the Huawei logo like the phone was shutting off and then returned to the lock screen, closing all apps. Battery didn't seem to be overheating so I didn't think that was the problem, so I decided to opt for a factory reset; but now the phone won't even go past boot (it has two loading screens when turning on: one that reads Huawei Ascend G620S and one that simply has the Huawei logo, and it gets stuck on the first one). What to do now? I can still access fastboot. I am very aware that this phone is old and that I should buy a new one but I don't have the money and this phone worked pretty well for my mom, so please, if you could give me some help I would be very thankful. Have a nice day, if you need more info I will give it to you. I only know that the Android version is 4.4, phone is non-rooted, and I was using a micro SD as "main" storage. I don't believe the latter created any problem although I removed it before factory resetting.
