I have a S7. It used to power up fine and go to the main screen. Now it boots up like it is brand new. It wants to connect to the internet and asks for a gmail account. I don't have that gmail account for this phone. It was given to me. How can I bypass this to just use the phones apps and wifi to the internet? No paid service.
Thanks
Joe
When in doubt. Youtube it.
Well I still have questions. Do I have to do a restore defaults? Or clear data? I want to keep whats on the phone.
@joebudd
You disable FRP by doing
Go to Settings.
Choose Cloud and Accounts - on some devices, this may be just Accounts and then you’ll skip the next step.
Tap Accounts.
Find and tap your Google account.
Tap Remove Account.
The only problem is I can't get into the phone. It powers up and there is a start button. Then the internet, then sign in to the google account assigned to the phone. I need to get around that.
@joebudd
If you have USB debugging enabled on your phone, then to remove FRP lock you can try out Windows app called GSM Flasher ADB FRP Bypass Tool .
Ok I am in. There are so many different ways it's not funny. I do have another question. The phone comes up with the old number that was put in the phone. Can it be removed? Also can activation incomplete be removed as well?

I used my gmail account on my wifes evo to download an app from market and it added it to her gmail so now she has access to my email. How can I remove it? When I go to settings to delete it I get an error stating I need to reset the phone to do so. Is there any other way without going to this extreme?

Nope...in order to delete the main gmail account you have to factory reset.
Just go into " account and sync " settings and turn off sync for Gmail on your account.

i did this but my email is still there. Luckily we just got these puppies yesterday so their not fully customized yet.

This is exactly was I was trying to do, i had an iphone before and we shared an apple id to only purchase apps and music once between us.
What about the method where you obtain temp root, go to \data\system and delete the accounts.db file(s)? Anyone tried that?

All ya have to do is add a different gmail account to your phone. Go make a temporary one if you have to. Then go to accounts and sync and choose the email address you want to remove and remove it.

That's true if you just have an extraneous email account on the phone. Won't work if you need to change the default (home) gmail account on the phone: the one the market is linked to. To change that requires some wizardry.
Mike
Hold volume down and then power at the same time. When it kicks on... press volume down to erase data or whatever... should be 3rd or 4th... hit power. Brand new phone.

Yes it will work. Once he deletes the old account from his phone he just has to log into his Gmail account "the one he deleted" from a pc. Then in account settings, remove the Gmail account that has access to his Gmail account. Then just re add his orginal account to his phone sync and he should be good to go.

I think we're talking about two different things. What you are saying will work when two gmail accounts are "cross linked". I thought he was talking about changing the gmail account that is associated with the phone (the one used for the market). To change that, you have to use root wizardry or reset the phone to factory defaults. No way you can change the main gmail account on an Android phone via a PC or any combination of "delete/add" accounts on the phone. The original (as activated) gmail account is "stuck" to an Android phone like glue.

That I agree with. I thought he was referring to his wife having acces to his gmail account. That's why I posted if he logs into his primary account that the phone is linked to and go to account settings he can add or remove access to his account.

Pretty extreme to wipe the entire phone just to change the gmail account, doncha think? Just delete the accounts.db file.

Hey, so this question is vaguely an Android issue in general not particular to the Evo 3D, but since I have one, I figured why not. Anyway, does anyone else have issues with Apps that rely on push notification? For example, I have an application called Seekdroid that tracks your device and cell information, however the information is only sent when I open up Google Talk. And even if I try to locate it again 10 minutes later, I'll need to re-sign in to Google talk. Also, the Chrome to Phone app gives me the same issue, links will not push to my phone unless I sign out and back in, to Google Talk. So what's so special about the Google Talk app? Are notifications all pushed through the device through there, and any way I could work-around signing back out and in every time I need information pushed. (Lol, an app that tracks a stolen phone is not that useful if Google Talk must be signed in- and out, for it to send back the tracking data.)
Strange
I use Google Talk and Chrome to Phone and I never have to sign out and into Talk for CtoP to work and I use it all the time while at work. I say this only to suggest that it might not be an Android issue, just something with your phone. Wish I could help further.

Based on this information, it does seem to be an issue more perticular to your device and the android account authentication process. A few quick suggestions which come to mind and shouldn't take too much time and could potentially resolve the issue:
1) Assuming you're rooted, I would go into the /data/data directory for google talk and wipe out all the files there. This process effectively forces google talk to reinitialize the whole application from scratch erasing anything corrupt settings which might have developed. It also forces the application to authentic again and hopefully save down the correct settings files for itself.
2) Re sync the google account on the phone. One way of doing this is by removing the account from the device and adding it back again. I dont think this will work with the primary account only with alternate accounts.
Not 100% sure if either of these issues will work for your specific issue but I know when I've experienced push/sync issues with Gmail, probably uses same/similar authentication as google talk, wiping out the data settings directory clears the issue up very quickly!
I'm sure if there are other ideas/approaches ppl will post up. Let us know what you try and whether it works or not. Hope that helps!
Hey thanks for the suggestions but unfortunately I tried them, but they didn't work. Are you using more than one Google Account on your phone? I''m using two Google accounts but only one of them has talk linked to it, I'll try making a talk for the other account.
Only one

I only have one account linked to mine. Maybe try removing the other account. You could always try Titanium backup and a full wipe and just start over. I know this sucks but it does work sometimes. I thought joeykrim's suggestions were pretty good, and if those didn't work, you might have to start all over.
Good Luck
Hmm...Ill try removing the account, but this is a problem that's persistent on any rom I'm on.

the only other thought which came to mind....
i was looking around in the google talk application settings and the very first option listed at the top is, automatically sign in. do you have this checked?
that appears to be the only setting regarding sign in/out i'm seeing in google talk. i do have this checked and i know ppl seem to randomly send me messages which must mean i'm appearing online, even though i rarely open google talk, maybe once a week at most.
i'm still thinking it is an account sync'n issue as there aren't that many moving parts to the process .. one other idea as i'm typing, maybe having 2 factor authentication turned on would impact it? do you have that turned on for your account?
hopefully one of these ideas helps! keep us updated!
I have automatically sign in checked, I unchecked it to see if it'll help but still nothing. Sorry but I don't quite understand what you mean about the authentication thing.
So still no luck, I tried signing in to both of my Google accounts on my pc, making sure Google Talk was working via the browser. I tried chrome to phone many times, and tried tracking my device via the Seekdroid app nothing happens. Opened Google Talk and shows me signed in and available as always. Signed out, and signed back in on the app, and as expected all my links that I pushed came through, and the app was able to send the tracking information. However if I wait five minutes, I'll need to re-sign out and back in for the chrome to phone and seekdroid to do its job.
Okay Good News and Bad News. I finally figured out that it's nothing to do with my Google account, but it's my wifi network. As soon as I switched to 3G everything works perfectly without even touching the Talk App.
So now my question is, what will cause me to have to re-sign in and out of Google talk for the info to get sent to my phone when I'm on wifi?
Hey all, I have stock,non-rooted,locked, OTA'd rezound.
I've tried everything in the general forums for this problem, so now I'll come here and ask to see if anyone has any other possible solutions.
I've done multiple factory resets today, and tried several different methods of re-adding my google account (which is a google apps for your domain account) so it's not @gmail.com but @mydomain.com
Everything works great, sync, gmail app, gtalk, youtube.. you name it. Great. Even the market place, for downloading 'free' apps.
As soon as I try and download an app I have to pay for I get a little window that pops up that says "Google sign-in You entered the wrong password or your account has changed. Please re-enter your password. Username [email protected]" and then just fails to accept my actual password. (i've tried changing my password a few times too!)
Here's everything I've tried:
1. Clearing the Market App Data and Cache.
2. FactoryReset: try and use the old market app before it gets updated.
3. Youtube account issue: disabled the youtube service on my google app domain, and factory reset- and tried again... no dice.
4. Tried putting on a real @gmail.com domain, and that works just fine. try and switch to @mydomain and it fails again.
I've done a factory-reset before every different style of attempt. I'm guessing something else is going on :-\
When I logon to the market through the web, I can purchase apps and they install without a problem! So it's something to do with the market app.
Anyway, just looking for any other ideas I may have overlooked. You're a pretty thorough community so I think I can trust you all would have something for me to try!
Before my factory-reset, everything worked fine with my google apps domain account.
TL;DR: My google apps domain account I normally use won't let me purchase apps on the marketplace anymore, it says the password has changed but all other google services work just fine!
I remember reading something way back when I first got the phone in late November about people having issues with the Market app. I never had an issue so I didn't pay much attention to it but you should be able to find a thread about it from back then.
Something about using a different apk? Or maybe deleting the app and redownloading it?
Sorry I don't have the actual answer but I thought I could at least point you in the right direction until someone else does.
EDIT: This may not be the same issue but one of the solutions that suggests to clear cache may help you. Can't hurt to try it out.
posted by danutzz: Open app drawer > tap menu button > click remove app > click all > find market and click > click clear cache and clear data...

Are you using Google Two-Step login verification?
Did you accidentally leave yourself logged in to another computer, like at work, where somebody else might have gained access to your account?
Sent from HTC Rezound using Tapatalk.
Great questions:
No I've turned 2-step verification off.... what if I turn it on, and try and get a different password out of it? I'll give it a go.
Account is definitely not compromised. good to go here.
Break Through Achieved...
My Google Wallet account has been suspended, because when I changed my password I used the google domains administrator panel, and not my google account 'change password'. this made google think the administrator changed the password because the account was compromised.
google wallet has a lengthy but acceptable process for regaining access to your account.
I'll go update all the general forums with this if it works... thanks for all your patience.
Also, google.com/wallet shows a good explination of why all other apps work fine, and not purchases...
Google Wallet Account Reinstatement
Your Google Wallet account is currently suspended. The account was suspended as a precautionary measure to protect your payment information because Google detected that an administrator at your organization initiated a password reset for your email address. However, this suspension only affects your access to Google Wallet, and you should still have access to your other Google Apps services such as Gmail, Calendar, and Sites.
If you would like to reinstate Google Wallet on your Google Apps account, please contact us. You will be required to verify your identity to reinstate your Wallet account.
You may also wish to sign up for a new Google Wallet account using a personal e-mail address, rather than your Google Apps account. Creating a new Wallet account using a personal email address will reduce future suspensions of your Google Wallet account for password changes. If you don't have an alternative email address, you can create a new email address with Gmail for free.

I'm having the same problem (using google apps account, admin reset password, no purchasing market apps etc etc)
When I log in to google wallet, I see the message you posted above, with a link to click to contact google. However, this link just redirects endlessly to the same message.
Can you remember how you managed to get in contact with google to have the suspension lifted?
Thanks

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I just emailed Google wallet help support telling them the problem and by the next day I got a reply saying something like "we can now confirm that your Google wallet is now working and able to make purchases" Sure enough they fixed it and haven't had a problem since.

Where did you even email them? It's like an endless loop on their help center where you can't get to an actual contact form, just has to match one of their issues. I swear while I like a lot of google services, their support leaves very little to be desired.
Hey guyz, I am new to android phones and after setting up my phone with all sorts of social networking and email accounts. I found that there is no way i can set a password for emails i mean if i lost my phone or if somebody tries to open email app or gmail from my phone they can see all the downloaded emails.
Is there anyway by which you can setup password in SXS so that i can be rest assured of security of my email even if its stolen or lost?
That is what the screen lock is for.
yea, you can find it in....
Settings > Location & security > Set up screen lock > pick whatever you want
....Enjoy!
Is there anyway to lock only specific application.
Also what happen if someone tries to unlock my phone i mean does it reset the phone to factory settings after specific attempts. I am more concern about data once this is sorted i want to update my company account to it.

Yes. First step in that guide, I dont have it. THere is no "accounts" or "us ers and accounts" in settings. There is an "Samsung acount" but all you can do there is login with the google account connected to the phone. No remove options.
So it's a work account using Samsung Knox... that matters.
