Ive been on MIUI for a while now and I have the latest version on my vibrant but the one thing that annoys me the most is that all my video playbacks are in portrait mode but in the centre of the screen so i can view the video in full screen! its just playing as if it was recorded in portaid mode and plays in landscape!
does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it?
please help! thanks a lot

As the title says my screen brightness flickers :O
Is it a big problem ??!?! :O
Usually happens when on low brightness.. the brightness flickers for a few seconds !
Im scared
Hardware issue ??
Thanks for all your replies in advance
Yeah, I got the same problem with mine xperia neo v...
I think ambient light sensor is calibrating or something... I got that flickering around 1 time in day.
Same problem here...on low brightness...
So i'm not the only one facing the issue
Happens only once in a day so it could be what armando101 said
Thanks
it is caused by fluorescent light sources. You can see them flicker too when you capture it with a camera:
Action at 0:40
Phew
Thought something was wrong with my phones LCD
Thanks mate
If you're annoyed by this, try installing SuperDim from the Market. It can lock brightness levels. You need root, through.
Also, don't set the brightness too low with SuperDim or the screen won't turn on when you unlock the phone.
I can confirm that this happens when the light sensor adjusts the screen brightness. If you go to Settings > Screen > Screen brightness, and here set it to max, you will disable the auto brightness feature and the flickering should stop. It will have negative effect on your battery performance though.

Is it caused by the effect I showed in post #5?

im not really sure for my answer, but try it, just remove the auto brightness, because sometimes the sensor are to much sensitive when it become dimmed in the area. just try it nothing will lose if you will try, but you will gain more....
Oh cool
Thanks

how will you disable the auto brightness without having to root the phone?
You can't disable auto brightness without root.
Anyways the app is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hatcyl.android.Disable_Auto_Brightness&hl=en
I'm using it mainly for games. Really annoying when the screen dims just because your hand covers the light sensor.
Hey guys...
I'm just wondering if i'm the only person having this problem. Before the .15 update, when i recorded and used those stupid effects (make eyes big, face small...etc) it was recording fine. But today i was trying to shoot a video using the effect, and when i played the video it had a screen tear/flicker on the top of my screen. Can anyone check if they're having the same problem?
The screen has a \____/ kinda shape flickering on the top of the screen when i'm playing the videos.
thanks
This is a BUG! I have this problem when i hit a recent apps botton...Please turn on screen and then 20-30second dont touch your screen when is in homepage then go to settings and do you see any homepage widget, icon like ghosting (screen burn)?
Yup
I have the same issue when using the front facing and Rear facing camera w/ video effects. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Running Virtuous Rom
I'm having this issue, I thought it was a problem with the auto brightness,so I turned it off, no luck, I think it's an issue with the light sensor since whenever I out my hand in it while playing hdr content it stars brightening and dimming the display in a kinda flickering way, it's unwatchable.
Anyone else can reproduce?

I know since the early Days of Magisk that it can affect the Performance of a OS, but that seems to be something new. Is the Device getting Hot or are there any lags before it starts acting like that?

No lags or heating problem.
The thing is That when You are watching Hdr on youtube
And your hand is in front of the sensor for brightnes control the backlight is going to the max. Also responding on the backlight of the display it self.

HDR (Over 720p) is pretty ressource hungry and needs much Perfromance, that's why i asked. But that sounds more like a Sensor Config Problem. Is this happening on Stock and/or AOSP?
And it just happens with Magisk installed?

On stock, at aosp Hdr is not working.
It looks like the sensor is working the wrong Way. You make the sensor darker andere the screen is getting brightner.
I have a Stock Xperia XZ1 no roms, no modifications at all,
Youtube HDR with the youtube video for testing HDR nature or something, the problem is that whenever the brightness is low, and i play an HDR video, the screen starts dimming, brightening if I touch the sensor.
But the light sensor works fine.
No one else?
Bump?

Check my video on google drive. Screen is "black" or with low brightness, and video stops after above 3 secs
Same problem with mine too ..
Slow motion video bugs
I am also facing the same problem....
The Screen is "black" or with "low brightness" like recording a video in night without light..
Even if i on my Torch i can't see the Scene (object) properly...... Very low Brightness in Slow Motion (on Full Brightness in Mobile).
Same thing happens in all fps (960 240 120).
Fix this Bug as soon as possible.
So we can Enjoy this Feature in our Poco F1 Phone.
Thanks & Regards.
