USB Preferences - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi All,
Have been having a strange issue, not sure if this is a software related or hardware related issue. Unable to charge my phone unless i restart with charger connected added logcat for details, below is a sample snippet.

08-22 14:31:47.127 1693 1808 E UsbPortManager: otg_default role switch failed
Tried writing data to "/sys/class/dual_role_usb/otg_default" in adb root mode but was unable to do it. I guess this is related to Qualcomm drivers.
Please help me if any one has any idea.

Tried it again, unfortunately it dint work. Also i also started getting that error in DerpFest. Can you tell me what steps you followed when you had that issue.

If it isn't a usb issue then. I flashed ngk installed app and set things up. I use these settings . When flashing wipe davilic cache before rebooting

This aa well

Yep, tried it still doesn't work. Infact the usb flex cable was changed from service center. So the usb issue can be ruled out.

Hi All,
Can anyone help me, seems to be a code in kernel not allowing me to reset phone to non charge mode when USB connected.
Thanks

Debugging kernel

Hey guys,
I compiled a kernel from the official sources and combined it with the ramdisk pulled from the stock kernel from my phone.
After clearing the dalvik cache and cache partition, I rebooted in download mode and flashed the kernel using ODIN.
The problem is that my device now gets stuck at the boot screen, and using adb to try and check the logcat isn't working (keeps waiting for the device to connect). USB debugging is on and it works again once I flash the stock kernel.
So my question is, how can I know what's wrong without logcats?
I'm certain everything I've done is correct to compile it (it's worth noting, however, that the sources' read me are the same for the Galaxy Y, which I thought is normal since my device is a galaxy Y in an ace's body).
Also, the flashlight flashes briefly before the boot screen appears, which I thought is weird.
Thanks a lot.
EDIT: Issue solved. I was using the wrong config file (the instructions bundled with the kernel were wrong).
You should try to get a ksmg not a logcat

I don't think getting a dmesg would be possible since adb isn't initializing properly, considering the device is never detected (and none of the adb commands work).

kmsg and dmesg are different beasts. Chances are your kernel panics before reaching the point where adb is initalized. You could try to get early printks using the serial console. Which device are you trying to debug? You will probably need a USB to serial converter to extract the early printks for debugging.

are you seriously doing it on purpose?
I suggest you install a stock ROM once you have a working USB driver.
Follow the instructions in this post using the root kit to install the correct drivers;

+1 back to stock, will rule out a hardware fault. Which could have occurred coincidentally to your fiddling.
IMHO its best to read and understand before fiddling with stuff like odin, it's very easy to end up with a very expensive paperweight by guessing which boxes to tick.

Urgent help please

Friends ,please help me. my device is in big trouble. It was MIke's LX Kitkat ROM in phone.some days ago i installed LinkToSD and moved some apps to my memory card without partitioning it.After that i couldn't access my memory card on pc via mass storage or media transfer mode.Device is getting charged when connected to the PC(only if usb debugging is enabled) but PC even doesn't show any sign of a connected hardware .I tried using different cables tried in different PC but no use. Can't use flash tool since hardware is not detected by the computer.Thinking it was a ROM problem i switched to the Carbon ROM, but couldn't flash the kernel because of the connection problem. And now wifi is also stopped working. Some one please help me..(I don't remember if i turned on fastcharge option or not) but i can't see the option now just for checking wthr i enabled it or not).Help me
Can you get into recovery? Fastboot?

What recovery options do you have now? Probably someone has Lx KitKat ROM to be flashed from SD card or adb in recovery? Or someone can make you one Give us details about the exact phone, recovery and LX you are using.

Thanks for the link dude. but my device is not bricked.I flashed the latest LX of Mike but i can't turn on the wifi because i can't flash the kernel inside the zip.when i connect my phone to pc,charging only works. but system even doesn't detect a hardware is connected.somewhere i read enabling fastcharging will do the same.. but i don't remember i enabled that option.any way when i searched for the option to check,i couldn't find it
You can always go back to stock with S1 Tool. And to LX from there Even that's not bricked...

Try another computer or update with recovery. Or find a repair shop, it might be a hardware problem at the end.
download and install latest flashtool driver pack by DooMLoRD from Sony cross device projects
Did you remove the battery for one minute before trying?
Also check http://www.flashtool.net/index.html instead of S1 Tool
The problem is that ,PC is not identifying the presence of a hardware connected to it.It is showing any changes in device management. No sign of a connected hardware.but charging occurs

If the phone charges while switched off there is no hardware problem whatsoever. It's a bug. You should post about this bug in Doge ROM thread. If you want to get rid of the bug flash stock (via sp flash tool) and then other custom rom. If you want to use a custom kernel with a custom rom keep in mind to check that the base rom used is A116 stock.
I have also read that removing the battery for an hour or two and than putting it back in solved the problem.
The other problem can be the charger. Are you using the USB cable that came with your smartphone? Even if you are charging with the original cable do get a hold on another(from your friend owning a116) and check if the problem still persists.
Thanks anyway

I relly appreciate your comment sir. But ive allready tried to flash stock via sp tool but the problem is no driver found in my device. Were the same thought it is not about hardware problem therefore i wont to go to service center for this. Id like to solve this issue with my own searching and also asking here :laugh:
I think the problem is the built in driver of my phone is corrupted. When it connect to pc. It always say unknown device.

Vicky i successfuly flash stock via spflashtool but i still having a problem about charging . Now weve noticed that sp flash tool is not sulotion
Ya so flash tool is not the solution. It should be meta mode flashing. But as on some forum described meta mode flashing via connecting the phone by holding volume up .I tried but found it is not meta mode flashing .so only a factory mode flashing can help.second I checked in boot loader test it showing charger connected but the power its getting from the charger shows 49 ma.that's the reason of slow charging while switched off.but when switched on I tried diagnostic tools no charger and USB connection detected soclear some bug in a script which not let USB connection and charging .
Still cross finger waiting for expert solution.
